Every class was a total drag. The most exciting part of school was when old lady Jones had to wake up half the class. I think it's her that is making the class so boring. The bus ride home was much more exciting. We had to stop because a few kids decided to have a water balloon fight. By the time the fight was finished, me and Phillip were soaked. Pop was not impressed when we made our way off the bus. Leah was happy to see us though. She bounced around the house as we made our way upstairs to dry off. Wait a minute before you get all dirty minded, we keep a spare change of clothes at the others house in case of emergency. Speaking of which, this weekend we're having a sleepover at my house. Benji is coming too! We're supposed to have a video game weekend. Better go get ready for bed. Entry 47 The only thing even mildly interesting about school today was that we had the official announcement that Wesley would be back on Monday. Ms. Jones and Melvin were the only people who didn't seem happy about that. But who cares what that old crone thinks. We watched a film in gym class, so no shower. The film was interesting to say the least, of course it was the standard so you're going through puberty type movie, so it was educational, but nothing I couldn't find out over the internet. After we got off the bus and did homework we played with Leah in the backyard until Auntie Joh dropped off Benji. Pop and Dad bought us those kits to make our own pizza and it was great. After putting the pizzas in the oven, we started playing games. The first one we played was Street Fighter. I wasn't very good at but Benji and Phillip were. After the pizzas got done we started eating and watching some goofy show on tv. We played a few more rounds of Street Fighter before we started to go to bed. Entry 48 Nothing better than waking up next to your gorgeous boyfriend, while the sun is shining and birds singing. Of course, the only thing that ruined it was Leah having a small accident this morning. You would think her weighing less than five pounds she wouldn't be able to hold that much liquid, but boy, the foot of my bed was soaked. So, after having to strip the bed and put the sheets into washer we woke Benji up and made our way down to breakfast, which wasn't too big of an affair, just some eggs and toast. Instead of video games we decided to just watch movies until it cooled down some then we made our way to the park. We didn't do very much at the park just run around with Leah while she chased a ball around. I think after about an hour we managed to wear her out. It's amazing how long she could run though. We decided to have a little taco night so that we wouldn't have to go out to eat. It was fun, we spent the rest of the night just playing cards. Word of advice, never play poker with Dad, he is a master bluffer. Phillip was the only person who managed to beat him. It's a good thing we weren't playing for money, Benji and I would have lost money we didn't have. We really need to make sure Dad doesn't have a gambling problem. Oh well time for bed, we're going to use sleeping bags in the living room tonight. Entry 49 There's a saying that all great things come to an end, and my weekend is at an end. At least this morning when we got up we weren't wet. We spent most of the day just lounging around the house not doing anything. It was fun just being lazy. After Auntie Joh picked up Benji, me and Phillip sat around talking about mindless stuff. He did ask if I wanted to go to the Gay Straight Alliance meeting the school had just okayed. I didn't see any harm plus most of our friends would be there and they knew about me so what the hell? I told him I'd go with him because it couldn't hurt and maybe we would have more friends after the meeting as well. We walked Leah to the park again while holding hands. It gave me a nice warm feeling to do that. On the way from the park, me and Leah dropped Phillip off at his house. After getting home we had a nice quiet dinner. Well, tomorrow Wesley comes back!!! Diary of a lost kid By: Wesley Lewis Chapter 16 Entry 50 Ok, so the day started of totally boring. That is until Old lady Jones lost her shit and more than likely her job. It started when she sprung a surprise test on us today, which I thought was totally unfair because it was Wesley's first day back at school. The thing is though, she had no way of knowing that all his friends kept him up to date on classwork and homework. Even though the old crone wouldn't accept it from him. He passed the test and she gave him an F on it saying he cheated. He took another test in front of the Principal and she still accused him of it. Then she called him a faggot in front of Dr. Calhoun and he suspended her on the spot. Apparently, there had been multiple complaints about the hag, but nobody had any proof about it until today when she was recorded saying those awful things about Wesley. Oh, I almost forgot Wesley and Seamus came out to us today, well me Phillip and Benji were sitting at the same table as they were when it happened, but we were close enough to hear. I can't wait for tomorrow, we have the first Gay Straight Alliance meeting. I'm anxious to see who all shows up for it. Entry 51 Today was one of the best days at school so far. Wesley's dad Mr. Oates took over for old lady Jones and he actually made the material fun to learn. For the first time in that class, I felt I had generally learned something. Me and Phillip introduced ourselves to Wesley today and he is so cool considering what he's been through. We made plans to hang out over the weekend, I'd have to see if Dad and Pops could put together another BBQ type thing. We also had the first GSA meeting today. Mr. Lee was the advisor. There were several people I was surprised to see there. One was Brandon Calhoun, he was the Principals son. Even the older brother of Melvin Chambers was there, I think his name is Tommy. All the regulars from lunch were there, but it seemed like Benji and Chloe weren't talking to each other as much as they had been, guess they might have broken up, I'll have to ask him later. When I saw Brandon there I realized it was him that had written the paper in English class. After getting home I asked the dads about the BBQ and they thought it was a great idea to do it. So, this weekend we would have like a block party. Entry 52 Today in school was pretty mundane. The most exciting thing was that we leaned the GSA was planning to sponsor a dance for all students. Me, Phillip, Wesley, and Seamus all volunteered for the decorations for the dance. It was going to be a blast. Wesley was excited because later this week he was getting the last cast off his arm. He's been working with a therapist trying to build up some muscle mass in his arms. From what he told us his therapist and his dad were best friends growing up and just recently reconnected. They're supposed to be coming over to the BBQ on Saturday. We had homework from Mr. Oates (Wesley's dad) but it was easier to do than when Jones gave it. She had the annoying habit of assigning homework over things we would go over in the next class, as opposed to Mr. Oates, who gave us homework over the material we covered that day in class. I hope they offer him the job for the rest of the year. Leah is being overly yappy, so I guess I should take her out before she has an accident. Diary of A Lost Kid By: Wesley Lewis Chapter 17 Entry 53 Well Benji and Chloe have officially broken up. It's weird too, because there's a new kid at school that Benji has been hanging around a lot. His name is Rob. We hung out a little at lunch and found out his father is my friend Dr. Hawk. He's a pretty funny guy. He could tell some jokes so dirty a pirate would blush. Benji just kept staring at him and was hanging on to his every word. It was so adorable to watch him. Phillip was trying so hard not to bust out laughing at poor Benji. Classes were pretty good this week. Math continues to be fun because of Mr. Oates. He teaches from the book, but he also gave us some real-life examples. I think with him teaching I can get into math even more.in about two weeks we plan on sponsoring the dance, so we had to pick a theme during the meeting today. We decided to do a Sadie Hawkins dance, which was basically where the girl had to ask the boy out. To be honest I'm not sure how that'll work with the same-sex couples though. After getting home and finishing homework, Pops gave me a cooking lesson. This time he taught me to pan sear pork chops, with oven roasted corn and mashed potatoes. A couple came out a little burnt, but Pops said that happens to everyone at least once when they cook. I really enjoyed learning how to cook from him, it was special because it was something me and him could do together. I also asked the dads if I could invite Dr. Hawk and Rob over for the BBQ and thought it was a great idea. Of course, I had a hidden agenda planned and I let Phillip in on it later after dinner. He thought it was a brilliant idea and we immediately set out on putting the plan into motion. The only drawback to this is we could be totally wrong about Rob and he could be straight, but he was giving Benji some stares as well. This is going to be fun. Entry 54 Wesley wasn't at school today, so we couldn't fill him in on the plan for Benji and rob, but Seamus told us he would tell him. He was finally getting the last cast off his arm. So far everyone except for Sam and Kurt are in on the plan. We are going to try to get them alone as much as possible together. Sure, there's a chance this could blow up in our faces, which is why Sam and Kurt won't help. They still want to come to the party, they just think it would be best to let nature take its course. Our English teacher, Mr. Lee, gave us an interesting essay to work on over the weekend. He wanted us to write about what makes us unique to others, why we think we're unique, and if we would change it. I'm not sure if I'm unique or not, but I do know I'm lucky. Mr. Stephens, the biology teacher, informed us that next week we would be dissecting frogs. I can honestly say I'm not looking forward to this. Just the thought of cutting something open and looking at its insides just made me shudder. I think the most boring class today was History. The teacher, Mrs. Hardin, was a nice person. She was short and stocky, and obviously wore a wig because of the way her hair moved whenever she walked around. Honestly, I don't think I'll ever get history, I'm just no good with dates and events. Lunch was met with little fanfare, we had those little teriyaki chicken nuggets. It was one of the blandest things I've eaten. Even the milk had more flavor to it. Gym class was a little more interesting because, well we had to run laps and you know what happens after that. Mr. Oates wasn't there today either, so we had a substitute in math. After getting home Pop told me that Wesley wouldn't be able to come to the BBQ tomorrow because his mother had died. I felt horrible about having a party while, Wesley was going through that. I was going to cancel it, but Pop told me that it wouldn't make a difference because Wesley wouldn't have wanted us to stop just because of him. I haven't known Wesley much, but he did seem fiercely independent and wouldn't want someone to put their life on hold just for him. In some ways I'm just like that. On the other hand, I need people to lean on every now and then. I hope he gets through this, he's went through enough pain already this year. Meeting Seamus was one of the best things to happen to him so far and I hope he is there to comfort him. I just thought about Mr. Oates too, he was married to her for like fifteen years. That's a long time to married to someone. I hope I can be that happy with Phillip. Diary of A Lot Kid By: Wesley Lewis Chapter 18 Entry 55 Operation Benji was a success!!!!!!! The BBQ was a success also. We had plenty of things to do for the adults and the kids. We had a block wide scavenger hunt. We paired off with each other which was the perfect way to get Rob and Benji alone together. All the items on the lists were limited to stuff we could find around the yards of each other. Mine and Phillip's list included a football, garden gnome, chew toy, and a croquet ball. It didn't take long for us tom find the items either. The gnome was in auntie Joh's yard, the football was in Seamus' yard. Phillip had a croquet set in his back yard and the chew toy was easy to find I my own back yard. The last team to come back was Benji and Rob. Their faces were a little red and I swear they we trying to hard to cover up their necks. Dr. Hawk was amused by this as was auntie Joh. When we asked what took them so long they just said they were getting to know each other. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about the food. It was awesome. The dads started off by grilling some bratwurst and hotdogs. While those kept everyone at bay they put some ribs and chicken on the grill slathered with barbecue sauce. Auntie Joh had brought some baked beans, while Doc brought some awesome coleslaw. I don't know how any of us kids aren't fat from all the great food that our parents make, its totally amazing. After everybody had gotten their fill of the food the dads sprung a surprise on us and brought out a projector and screen and we all sat down and started watching a movie. The only sad spot to the day was that Wesley couldn't come. Entry 56 Ok so something weird happened today. Melvin Chambers called to talk to me. He wanted to apologize for being such an ass to me and everyone else in our group. He said he had a long talk with Wesley and it made him realize just what a dick he was. He said he had some issues at home and he was taking it out on anybody else. I told him that he was welcome to talk to me anytime he felt like it. It was kind of nice being able to talk to him without him being a total dick. I think maybe we should invite Melvin to the GSA meetings that way he could get to know us even better. It couldn't hurt, at least I don't think it would. I talked to Phillip about it and he thought it might be a good idea, so I'll invite him tomorrow. With it being Sunday, we had a lazy day without doing anything. We spent an hour walking Leah around the town and to the park where we tried to teach her to fetch. She doesn't have the concept down completely, meaning she will go after it but she won't bring it back, or give it up for that matter. We are planning on taking her to the groomer this week. Just a little trim and maybe paint her toenails. I just want to glam her up a bit. Phillip thinks I'm going overboard, but she's my baby I can't help it. She's just so damn cute. Well, tomorrow is a big day, it's Wesley's mom's funeral, and he asked if I could be there. I'm glad that he considers me a good enough friend to be there. I think it's because I know what it's like to lose a parent, so I could help him through it. I really hope I can. +-+-+-+-+-++-+-+-+- Okay so now we are officially caught up!
