Now on with the story.

From our previous chapter:

He pulled his son to his chest and the two boys felt happy against the man, safe and warm. As they slept, Drew had a dream of his father who ignored the boy. But a figure came from the shadows and slew the cold-hearted man. It was Barry who lifted him in his arms and called him son.

CHAPTER 17: A DAY OF FUN

The day broke and the three woke. Smiles broke on their faces and they got out of bed. They showered together and Barry made breakfast. The phone rang and Michael answered it.

"Hi Mom." he said. "We're okay. He's here. Okay. Wanna talk to Dad? See ya later."

He hung up the phone and sat back down.

"Mom said they would be home by 5." the preteen said. "They will pick up some dinner."

"Okay, so what shall we do?" Barry asked.

"Football! Football!" the two boys yelled.

The Falcons were home against the Carolina Panthers. Barry finished making breakfast and wondered how he was going to tell the boys he already bought the tickets. He relented and pulled three tickets from his wallet. Michael and Drew almost choked on their food, then yelled and danced with excitement. They finished breakfast and the boys did the dishes, while Barry made sure was ready. At 11 am, they loaded into the van and went to the stadium. The Falcons were going to have a mascot day where two children would be the good luck mascots for the game. What the boys did not know was Barry had this set up with the owner of the Falcons. They got to their seats and Barry sat between the two boys and smiled. The PA announcer came on with a booming voice.

"Ladies and gentlemen." he said as it echoed through the stadium. "We are now going to pick two lucky children to be the team mascots for the game. They will get to sit on the bench with the coaches and players, then receive a number of gifts from the Atlanta Falcons organizations."

The announcer read the section, row, and seat numbers and the two lovers realized they were the lucky ones. The ran as fast as Drew's legs would allow them to get to the ushers, who led them to the field. They were among the biggest guys they ever saw, with the exception of Hank. The players took to Drew immediately, but Michael was a hit with them also. They were allowed to accompany the team captains on the field for the coin toss and shook hands with the Panthers' captains and the officials. They sat on the bench and tried not to get in the way, but yelled, cheered, and ran to the sidelines any chance they could. Even the coach let them send in a play which resulted in a touchdown. The game came down to a field goal in the last two seconds and everyone, including the boys were on the sideline when the Falcons place-kicker split the uprights. The linebacker next to Drew picked him up and hoisted to his shoulders. A player lifted Michael up and they carried them to the field where they shook hands with the Panthers' players. They were then carried to the locker room and they had fun joking with the players. The players took the boys into the shower with their clothes on and the duo were soaked. They heard the owner and Barry come in the locker room. Both boys looked like drowned rats, but they were laughing.

"Having fun?" the owner yelled about the din.

It got quiet very fast, but the boys were still smiling. The players got a couple of jerseys for the boys to wear. Michael's did cover his body to his thighs, but Drew looked like he was covered in red and black. The two boys got team jackets, another jersey each, t-shirts, and other great souvenirs. But the greatest prize was two footballs autographed by the team. Barry was able to get them from the locker room before the players adopted the duo.

"So did you enjoy it?" he asked them.

All they did was smile. Barry was glad to see the happiness pour from their faces. As they got home, the car was in the driveway so they went in to find the woman in the living room having coffee and Penny playing with a new doll.

"Great." they both said.

They explained what happened at the game and showed all their gifts. They gave Penny the t-shirt Drew got and she hugged them. The boys went upstairs and Michael put on dry clothes, but Drew kept his jersey on since he had not clean clothes. They went down to eat and the laughter of the day expanded the love in the room. As they finished eating, Michael went to get some clothes. Linda took Penny to get a bath and put her to bed. Barry, Doris, and Drew went to the living room. Drew climbed in his mother's lap and snuggled against her bosom.

"Barry, remember I have to take Drew to the lawyer tomorrow." she said.

"Not to worry." he replied. "Do you want me to come?"

Doris was ready to say no, but Drew whispered he wanted Barry there. Doris could not refuse her son when he gave her his puppy dog eyes look. She relented and they agreed to meet at noon. Michael came downstairs with his bag and Doris said good-night to Barry, then went upstairs to say good-bye to Linda and Penny.

"Now boys, behave tonight." Barry said.

"We will Dad." they chimed together.

Doris came downstairs and the boys left with her. They got in her car and left for the Morgan home. They arrived while the boys were trying to figure out where Bryce and Hank were going to take them. Doris had a worried look, but tried to be brave for her son's sake. As they got to the house, the boys grabbed their belongings and went to Drew's room. As they entered and dropped their things, Drew collapsed on the bed from exhaustion.

"Babe, do you mind if we don't make love?" he asked. "I'm so tired right now."

"I know how you feel." the tall teen replied. "I could fall asleep right now."

They undressed each other and Drew put on a clean pair of briefs. They climbed into bed and as usual, Drew snuggled on his life mate's body. Doris peeked in to see the sleeping boys. She kissed them both and left them to their slumber. The night passed without incident and no bad dreams invaded their minds.

NOTE: Well another chapter is done and another one on the way. I plan to add a few more to make up for the week I had. I know, no sex, but it was a fun time for the boys and they deserved it. Next chapter brings a bigger surprise for the Morgans and the Greens. If you have any comments, please email me at WritHot@comcast.net. Please put the title of the story in the subject line and where you are from so I might add it to the Readers' List.
