They met up in a deserted corner of the school library where Jamey often hid to get some peace and quiet. As soon as they were sure they weren't being watched Jamey made eye contact with Gage, and took in his messy blond hair, his vibrant green eyes that were a hue only a tropical rain forest could produce, and he noticed they weren't a solid color but a light green with flecks of darker colors. They were Jamey's new favorite color. It was then he realized he was hopelessly addicted to this boy who he'd known a little less than a month. He was merely a boy about to turn 14, and he was... he admitted... at the very least, in the state that one would say describe as "Falling In Love", because he could not stop himself any more than a man with a parachute can float in mid-air all day long. He was reminded of a thousand love songs. "I am sooo fucking screwed." Jamey said. "What is wrong?" Gage asked looking worried. "A few days ago, you were my new best friend, and I was so happy about that, I felt like I could fly, I felt strong, like I could crush diamonds with my bear hands just because I got to be near you. Now... every time I look at you, I am a helpless puddle of mush." Jamey rambled off blushing. Gage took a while to register what Jamey had just told him. He admitted to himself he was a hopeless case too, and if Jamey didn't feel the same way, he was bound to crash and burn. Hearing Jamey say it first was a relief beyond anything he'd ever felt. Jamey continued. "I am so screwed, you have no fucking idea how helpless your eyes make me." He said making eye contact with him, and then shivering and turning away so he could think clearly. "Sorry, IF I'm putting too much pressure on you...I guess tell me and I'll back off, it's just who I am I guess. I don't connect with most people, so when I do, it's real and deep and... Shit, we're both too young for either of us to feel like this, so if you don't, it's okay, just tell me and I'll give you some space." "Oh, Shut up." Gage said laughing "You are a corny bastard you know that?" He accused. Shaking his head. "I am a lost cause too, if you didn't feel the way you just told me you do, I'd be broken. I think it's brave of you to say it first. I like that, you don't hold back, no games, no facade. I love that about you." Gage said putting his arms around Jamey. Gage had something else he had to get off his chest though, he had some regrets about being sexual with Jamie before even talking about it. It wasn't like him, or like Jamey to leap before getting his bearings. Gage wasn't an impulsive or perverted guy, he had just gotten carried away being excited that Jamey liked him that way, and he was on a dopamine fueled high from the kisses they had used to break the illusion that they only wanted to be friends. "Look Jamey, I don't want you to think I regret anything with you... I DON'T... but I think we need to slow things down, physically I mean, I got carried away Saturday night and I don't want that to be what you and I are all about." He said. "Okay," Jamey said. "I'm sorry I kissed you without asking... I shouldn't have started something right after you told me your story, I figured I'd gone too far for you, I should have just told you I was into guys and seen how you felt about that." Jamey said "No, no that was sweet. I love that you felt compelled to show me rather than tell me how you felt, it took guts." He said "It was so hot that I felt like jumping in head first and making you feel as good as I felt. What I meant was, what I did after we both got all worked up... wasn't exactly what I should have been doing, we should have talked, and figured things out rather than dealing with our physical side effect... if you know what I mean." "Oh... so... you don't want to do that stuff with me yet?" Jamey asked a little disappointed and confused. "Oh God yes." Jamey said, "I want to do all of that stuff with you, but that's not the point. I don't want that to be what were focused on, Jamey. I like you too much to fuck it up by rushing things, you aren't some random guy, you are the sweetest gentlest person I have ever known, and being impulsive like that was exciting at the time, but it feels wrong because it didn't feel special, it felt like I was out of control, and it was rushed. I'd never want to rush that with you, I want to enjoy it and make sure you do too when we're ready to go there." Jamey nodded. "I like you too, and it should be special when we do stuff like that, not just getting getting off." Jamey said. "Exactly, so... I think that you were on the right track before all of that happened... if you want to go on a real date, that sounds sweet to me." He said smiling and holding onto Jamey's hand. "Okay... umm..." Jamey needed time to plan something. "Just text me when you come up with a plan, whatever you want to do is cool with me." Gage said, trying to make it easy and not putting Jamey on the spot. "Okay, and I have to ask about the last thing you said the other night..." Jamey asked. "What did I say?, Sorry, it is kind of a blur." Gage said. "I asked you if we were friends, boyfriend's, or what?..." Jamey said, trying to get a definitive answer out of him this time. "Oh yeah... Shit Jamey I don't know he stammered. "I have never been in a relationship or whatever, and we kind of jumped tracks from friends to... well... yeah we skipped a few stages." He said nervous. "So..." Jamey asked. Gage looked annoyed at being put on the spot, but he knew Jamey was not sure where things stood, and needed some reassurance. "Okay then, yes I'll be your boyfriend, you clueless dork." He said kissing him on the cheek. Jamey felt like there was a rocket blasting off in his chest as he finally got an answer, and the sweetest little kiss he'd ever gotten. He wanted to scream and jump and skip like a cheesy gameshow contestant, but he decided to put a stop to his hormonal shift before things got out of hand again and they got into trouble. "I had to hear you say that." Jamey said. "I didn't want to get my hopes up or call it what it wasn't." "Well did you think I was going to put your dick in my mouth one day and then pretend I didn't want to be your boyfriend the next?" Gage asked teasing him. "I'm not that much of a boy-slut, honestly, I just got carried away knowing I turned you on." "With all this talk about slowing things down, backing them up... I just needed to hear it is all." Jamey said making a pouting puppy dog expression. "Okay then, boyfriend, sweetheart, lover boy," Gage teased, he could swear Jamey was about to pounce on him and lick his face like an excited puppy at that point. "Just promise you will tell me if things move to fast or you feel like we are stuck in a rut or need a break to cool down, I want to be patient with each other so we don't mess this up." Gage said. "I always thought I would be the one demanding more communication." Jamey said laughing. They decided to talk more later, after school, though Jamey insisted that that was not the date he promised, he had to come up with something good. They walked out of the library, going separate ways. "See you for lunch, honey." Jamey said laughing at himself using that name. Gage blushed a little. "See you later, babe." Gage said finding it just as amusing and awkward coming out of his own mouth. He knew it would feel natural soon enough, but the interaction was new to them both. Hearing Gage call him things like babe, boyfriend, or lover boy was enough to have made Jamey feel like he was walking on air the rest of the day. It had almost the same effect as his kisses, but it was more because it meant that Gage fully admitted that they were more than just friends. Friends could kiss, but unless they were being facetious they wouldn't use those terms of endearment meant for people in a relationship. He almost took the wrong hallway he was beaming and walking on auto-piolet so cheerfully. "Ok, back to earth, get to class mushmelon." He reprimanded himself. He was going to be floating on a cloud all day. Later, As he was thinking about Jamey with a big grin on his face, feeling butterflies just remembering his smile and the bear hug he had given him just for saying the word boyfriend. Gage lost track of where he was walking, he ran into someone bent over reaching into their locker, knocking them over. Gage was mortified, he went to help the kid up, as he did he noticed that he had dark tanned looking skin, a pretty masculine jawline just below the cutoff length of his black hair that was parted in the center. The Boy's warm brown eyes caught Gage's embarrassed expression and he softened his expression, making eye contact. He seemed to be fixing onto Gage's eyes the same way Jamey did when they first met, which was a sign. "Sorry, I am just really distracted, today." Gage said picking up the boy's books and his which he'd dropped to help him up. He held out a hand for the boy to shake. "I'm Gage Daniels, are you new here too? I haven't seen you around... he asked. "Not new, just not in your grade, you realize you are in the 6th grade hallway right?" the cute boy said. "I know who you are, everyone... well most of the girls in 6th grade have a crush on you." He added, nervous. "Shit really? That's weird" Gage said embarrassed. "You are a little clueless aren't ya gorgeous?" the boy said smiling kindly. "You have to be joking." Gage said. "No... actually, I'm pretty sure it's called flirting." He said casually. "I am Vin by the way. AlvinAlvin Trevino actually... but when people tried calling me Al I hated it so... it's Vin." "like the actor?" Gage said smiling. "Yeah... but I'm not that macho, heh, kind of the opposite," Alvin said blushing. "Just forget it and call me Alvin." He said. "If you want to call me anything." he stammered. Gage was laughing on the inside at how this kid went from super smooth to super nervous in a matter of half a minute. "You don't look like a 6th grader." Gage said looking the kid up and down, feeling at ease enough not to hide that he was sizing him up and checking him out. "I started school late, and had a growth spurt early. Puberty starts early for some of us... from down south he said. If you know what I mean... ha-ha I am almost 13, but nobody knows that so don't tell, they will think I'm stupid. My parents and I came from Mexico when I was 6. My dad works at the apiary outside of town... we only knew a few words in English so it took me a while to catch up in school." He said. "That is cool, I moved around a lot before we came back here, my mom grew up here but I didn't. I hope I can stay here for good now, I like it here, people are so nice, sorry again for being a klutz and running you over" Gage said. "No problem, hey, you are friends with Jamey Denton aren't you? His brother is my best friend since forever...so I'll probably see you around." Alvin offered. "Jamey is my best friend, so um... yeah, I'll see you around." Gage said feeling like he had already betrayed Jamey by not claiming him as his boyfriend to someone who was clearly interested in him. Jamey wasn't out to his family, neither was he, he couldn't out him to his brother's best friend just like that by saying that he was his boyfriend, but he should say something about HAVING a boyfriend... he kind of wanted to tell someone anyway. Damn this was confusing. "Hey a Alvin, just so you don't get the wrong idea, I am into guys, I do think you are pretty cute, but I'm taken." "Shit already, Alvin looked a kid who lost his helium filled balloon. Oh well, can't blame a guy for trying." He said pouting adorably. "Who is the lucky stud who asked you out first?" he asked. "Can't say... it's a new thing, neither of us are out yet, except to each other, well and me being out to you now I guess... ha ha." He said, taking his turn at being nervous again. "Gotcha..." Alvin said, "I am all the way out, have been since I was 9 and had a crush on my English tutor. He said my eyes were telling him he should let me know he had a girlfriend." Alvin said. "Story of my life, all the gorgeous boys are dating someone who is never me... that or they are fucking clueless." He said. "Well, see you around Alvin." Gage said as he turned and walked back the way he came. Getting to class late, and being even more distracted, Gage figured it was about time to give up trying to focus on class and just make sure he survived the day without embarrassing himself. At lunch time he saw Jamey and suggested they eat outside so they could talk. "Hey Jamey, I ran into one of your brother's friends, Alvin, he seemed like a sweet guy, he actually kind of flirted with me. Eh... not kind of... he was laying it on pretty thick... I told him he was cute and all, but that I wasn't available. I hope that is okay that I didn't tell him it was you. " He said. "What else would you do, neither of us are really out yet, and he is like, a third brother to me, my family would know about us like instantly if you had told him who you were dating. I don't care that much if they know, they are cool about that kind of stuff, but I want to tell them when I feel like it." "Also, my little green eyed hottie, I'm not going to get pissed because someone else flirts with you, It's not like you can stop them, and I can't blame him for thinking you are cute." Jamey said. "Okay, I am just trying to figure out how to act now that I have a boyfriend." he said smiling "I have never met anyone as blatantly forward as him before." "Alvin... ha-ha... he is a bit of a wild card but he is all talk, he gets nervous easy." Jamey said. "This is all new to both of us. I swear Alvin is in love with my little brother, and Justin is the clueless straight friend who misses all the signs and thinks it's fun to tease the poor kid." Jamey said. "That's not very nice, I mean, I get that guys joke around with each other, but If he really likes him, that could really sting." Gage said. "Justin doesn't think before he does anything." Jamey lamented. He leaned over and snuck a quick kiss from "You are so sweet Gage, all worried about how to act, we are both new to this, we will figure it all out. I'm not going to throw a fit over anything stupid, I don't think I am even the jealous type." He said "That good, because according to Alvin I have everyone in the 6th grade crushing on me." Gage said rolling his eyes and laughing. "I can't blame the Little rascals for wanting the real deal." Jamey said smiling at Gage and getting lost in his eyes again. The bell rang, and they parted, holding hands for a few seconds and not wanting to let go. Gage made it to all of his classes on Time, and was a little less distracted. As for Alvin, the kid was a wild card, and a cutie, but Jamey feeling threatened by him wasn't going to happen. Gage was sweet and Jamie trusted him. Hell even if Alvin kissed Gage right in front of him Jamey, he thought he would probably just laugh at expression on Gage's face. Jamey actually laughed out loud in class just thinking about it and embarrassed himself. After school Jamey plopped down on the living room couch next to his dad, and in less than a minute he was snoring. Allen looked at his son. No doubt he was headed for a major growth spurt. His birthday was the Wednesday of next week. He was glad Jamey had a good friend now, and he secretly suspected that there was a reason that this particular boy had broken through the barrier Jamey had constructed between himself and his peers. Allen knew that his son was gay, he'd known for a while now. If by some miracle Gage was too, well, that would be a blessing for them both to have someone who understood them, and if they happened to like each other, he thought, Jamey could do a lot worse than little Gage Daniels. He seemed like a sweet kid. Usually mother's have the intuition when it comes to kids. In this family though, Alan could read his 3 boys like a book. Jamey was the most like himself. He and his little buddy were always able to read each other pretty well. "Aw, poor guy," Laura said as she witnessed the scene on the sofa. "He must be totally drained." "Nah, he's just growing." Allen said. "More like transforming lately," She countered. "He is that age." He said. "I know but it is happening too fast for me, and the little shit never told me he could play the piano and sing like an angel, I had to catch him serenading Alice and Gage down at the bakery!" She said, still not believing that he'd learned it just from watching her teach kids. "He's full of surprises lately alright, Like this, he has never napped, getting him to close a book long enough to sleep is a task." Allen said. The doorbell rang and both of them cringed thinking it would wake him up but nope, Jamey was out. Gage was standing on the doorstep, they invited him in and gave him something to drink, as it was the first really warm day of spring outside. He didn't need to be told not to wake Jamey up, when he saw him sleeping peacefully on the couch in the living room, he quietly walked past to the kitchen and sat down, watching him sleep from a distance. Laura and Allen exchanged a look of suspicion at the way he watched their middle son. Laura smiled. "Well, if that doesn't look like a boy with a crush..." she said whispering to Allen. Allen agreed, nodding with a cheeky grin. "I had a feeling Jamey felt that way already, then when I did the story for the bakery I brought Jamey along... I never dared to hope that the feeling would be mutual, but Jamey needed a friend." Allen said. "Are you playing cupid with our son!" Laura said smacking him. "I am NOT ready for him to have a girlfriend... or a boyfriend... but he sure picked a cute one if it's true." She said. Allen decided to strike up a conversation with the little blond-haired green-eyed boy. He was good at talking to kids, especially the intellectual types. As a writer and reader of science fiction and fantasy, he was kind of like a big nerdy kid himself. "So, You and Jamey seemed to hit it off pretty well." Allen said leading the conversation. "Yeah, I am glad you and him came to the bakery that day, I mean, I knew him from PE class in school, but I try to keep my head down around that place, too many people I try to avoid." He said. "You sound just like him, that's why he didn't have many friends from school, he doesn't have anything in common with most of his peers." Allen said. "He is an old soul in a young body, always has been, just like me." "ME too, gage said, and, Well... he and I have some other important things in common too." Gage said. "Oh I know, we are pretty blessed with that one, He is the easiest of our three boys to raise because he is trustworthy." Allen said. "Well, Mr. Denton, You don't need to use a sales pitch on me, I am more and more amazed, and... liking him more every day." Gage said. "I wish I was as good at drawing and singing and other things as he is." "You bring out the best in him, and your grandmother has always treated him the way he wished all adults would. She has a sense about people, knows how to approach them and have a rapport." Allen said. "Your mother on the other hand..." he chuckled. "Annie didn't get that bit." "She is a little clueless sometimes, falls for a lot of baloney." Gage said, being frank. She sees what's going on when it really counts though, she isn't dense, just not as... people sensible, as Gran and I." "Indeed, some talents skip a generation here and there, like drawing... Jamey shares my way with words... but I didn't get the attention to detail or skill at drawing. He is always noticing things, or appreciating beauty in the strangest places like his grandpa did." Allen said He continued, "I was stuck in my own head like him, but when I looked up, I didn't notice things like he does. It's like his eyes see what the rest of us can't. Jamey is a soft-hearted kid, that's why he doesn't bother with people who don't connect with him. He doesn't invest time in anyone who isn't special to him. I've never seen him interested in anyone the way he is interested in you." Allen said trying to cut to the point, if there was one. "That is why I decided to drag him down to the bakery, after he mentioned that you were a lot like him. Quiet, careful, patient, kind, and intelligent. And he also mentioned your pretty eyes, shiny hair, and adorable smile...though he was more discreet in that regard, I heard him loud and clear." Allen continued. "So... you knew about him... liking boys and that he liked me... like he does. Even before that day?" Gage asked curious. "I don't notice details like he does, but I listen closely, and when it comes to my boys... I know how to read them." Allen said. "You didn't know about me though, you couldn't have." Gage said. "What didn't I know about you?" Allen asked innocently. "That I like boys too." he said nervously. "Oh, no I didn't know that. It didn't matter really, he needed a friend, and he thought you were a good guy. That was all the further I cared to know." AllenAllen said smiling. "But I really don't care who my boys want to kiss and fondle, as long as they are being treated right I am a happy dad." He said still grinning. "I will warn ya kid, I'm not the one you are gonna have to worry about, I know that if anything tried to get in between you two, Jamey would show another side of himself real quickly. He and his mother have a protective streak that burns fiery red." He said. "I'll keep that in mind, Mr. Denton, and I'll try to keep him out of trouble if it comes to that, I'd never let him get hurt on my account." Gage said. Allen nodded. "I can see what he sees in you, some of it anyway, Gage, you have a good head on your shoulders, and a good heart." He said patting the young teenager on the back firmly. "Please, I know you won't lie to him, but I'd prefer Jamey not be told I know about him... he would prefer to come to us with that information in his own time." Allen added. "I assure you though, there is nobody and nothing in this household you have to worry about coming in between you two." He said. Jamey was awake now, yawning and walking in from the sofa in the other room, which if he were awake it would have been easy to listen in on their conversation, but the television was on too and it might have made it too garbled trying to hear. Seeing Gage was there he broke into a big smile. "Sorry buddy, I guess I slept through your arrival, I haven't napped like that since I was a toddler." He laughed. "I don't sleep more than 4 hours a night as it because my brain doesn't want to slow down." He said. "I have the same problem," Allen said raising his hand. That one is my fault he said of the insomnia. "I have NO trouble falling asleep, Jamey said. Unless I'm worried about people I love." he said looking directly into Jamey's eyes. Jamey was a little nervous about how blunt a conversation his father and Gage had been having. Allen wasn't afraid to talk about embarrassing things, he reveled in making his boys blush. Laura was less comfortable with it, she didn't like embarrassing them much herself, but she usually pushed past the fact and joined in when she was feeling ornery. Bill was the most bashful, when he blushed he looked like the Koolaid mascot due to him having Laura's fairer complexion that looked even more red. His hair color was a strawberry blonde like hers too. Bill was gorgeous, but his insistence on acting like a typical jock despite not being genuinely that macho in spirit was a bit obnoxious. Jamey always thought he was trying too hard for the sake of popularity. Justin was the smartass who was popular just because he was a smartass. He wasn't a bully, but he could be an irritant to just about anyone. He liked to push peoples buttons, but the effect would make them either blush or get infuriated. He had hair almost as blond as their father. Where Jamey got his dark black hair was a mystery, though he looked a lot like Allen's father who was dark haired and blue eyed too. Bill or his parents had had to rescue Justin from Jamey a time or two when he's gone too far, with his rascally nature but they generally admitted that he would have deserved what he got. Had Jamie actually caught up to him. Justin was lucky he could run fast when needed and people weren't generally angry enough to chase him. Jamie did have a temper, but usually he was a bit devious in his means of getting revenge. He'd put cayenne pepper in bill's football uniform one time after he and his friends accidentally knocked his tablet into the swimming pool. Justin had learned to be extra careful after irritating Jamey because there was always a bit of a nasty surprise waiting somewhere. Jamey learned that it isn't worth the trouble to be pissed at him anymore though he was usually just looking for attention. Headphones that block outside noises are a valuable tool for a reclusive introvert with an irritating little brother. Jamey and Gage decided a long walk in the decent spring weather was about due right before for the last week of march. There was still snow melting into the gutters and clumped from where the plows had piled it, but it was in the high 50's spring weather compared to the cold of Montana winters that can get down to -50 degrees Fahrenheit, or even colder with the frigid winds that blew down from Canada and off the Mountains. "So... how embarrassed should I be about what my dad had to say." Jamey asked. "Mortified"... Gage joked. And the pictures... ha ha." he added. Jamey turned red and looked at the ground. "Haha Gotcha." Gage said lifting Jamey's face by his chin and smiling until Jamey smiled too. "You are so damn cute when you are bashful." He said kissing him on the cheek without a care in the world that the neighborhood might be watching. "Your dad isn't stupid though." Gage said. "He made sure to brief me on what to expect if I was gonna stick around. I think he just genuinely wanted to talk about you to someone who doesn't know you all that well." Gage said. "My dad and I, we are kind of the same guy, only I kiss boys." Jamey laughed "Nah, there is only one you." Gage said. "Your family is pretty cool though." He added. "Just wait until you meet Justin before you say that." Jamey said with the habitually annoyed expression that his younger brother inspired. "I look forward to that challenge." Gage said smiling. "You are sure cheerful this evening." Jamey said. "I am just looking forward... to everything." Gage said. "That's kind of a new thing for me." "Well, it's a new thing for me too, and it's because of you. I want to be a better me." Jamey said. "You don't need to change babe. You blow me away just by being you. And you make me feel like being me is good enough too." Gage said hugging him tight. Jamey was feeling butterflies in his stomach and an overflowing feeling in his chest that was almost pushing tears out his eyes it was so strong. HE just closed his eyes and held onto his sweet honest boyfriend. His eyes finally started leaking a little bit, and he buried his face in Gage's shoulder. "You okay sweetie?" Gage asked. They both laughed a little at the tenderness and the ease with which he used that phrase. "I'm..." Jamey took a deep breath. "I'm just..." he couldn't find the right words to explain it, which was an experience he wasn't used to. He put his hands behind Gage's neck and kissed him, pushing all that he was feeling into the kiss, making Gage's eyes look around them to make sure they weren't being watched before melting into the kiss himself. "WOW" Gage said as he caught his breath. "That's not enough, I could hold you in my arms and kiss you forever and still not feel like it was enough to make it clear how much you make me feel. I know, people laugh when kids our age use the L-word. But I LOVE you. I can't NOT feel it so I might as well use the damn word for it." Jamey said. "Ah damn it." Gage said with his eyes getting moist. "I can't help it either, you make me all mushy and sappy you crazy little... uhh... why the hell do you have to be so damn sweet and cute? It's not fucking fair! I love you too." he said, shaking with a sort of happy half-giggle in his chest. "I really mean it Gage, I don't have any experience even with having friends, but if I felt any more I'd explode." He said. "If that isn't how love is supposed to feel, I don't want it." he said smiling so hard it hurt and made epically cute dimples in his cheeks. Gage looked at him shaking his head. "You are too much Jamey. I don't know what I can do to deserve to have you feel that way, but I feel the same for you... and I know you really meant it when you said it, because I've heard liars say it to me and my mom enough to know when it's fake." He said. "So I passed your lie detector?" Jamey teased. "Yes, you have never lied to me, ever, and you don't hold anything back either... so... there's something I should let you know. I'm was not supposed to say, but I figure being honest is more important. "Your dad knows about us, about you. He didn't know about me being the same as you, gay I mean, until today really, but he knew you liked me before he even dragged you into Gran's Bakery." "WHAT? He knew, and he told you that? God I'm so embarrassed... I didn't even admit to myself I liked you until that time in my room when you first hugged me back, at my house... right before I drew the picture of you. And then, I didn't dare think you could feel the same until you were okay with me kissing you. I was terrified that you were going to run out of my room and never want to talk to me again." Jamey said. "Relax... jeeze I was scared too." Gage admitted. "Gran convinced me to be honest and tell you, I never even told my mom how my leg really got broken. YOU are the first boy I've really liked. I kissed and groped with Alex because we both wanted to see what we liked, but I never felt anything about him like I do about you. "When you hugged me that day at the bakery, It was such an honest sweet thing for a guy to do that I couldn't stop thinking about it until I admitted I wanted more hugs, and more everything with you." "I keep my distance from people until I get a good enough read on them, I kind of had to see how you reacted to my story before I got my hopes up, but Gran knew, she said that I was fooling myself if I didn't admit that I felt that way for you." Gage said. So your dad and my Gran, they both knew before we really did. We have them to thank for getting us to take the right steps... you know." He said shrugging. "Shit, well, now that it's all out in the open like that, it is kind of devious the way they read us. It's like we live with freaking psychics who set us up. But they did pretty damn good if you ask me." Jamie said smiling. "We got lucky." "Yeah can you imagine if they tried to set us up with anyone else... ugh." Gage said. "I CAN imagine, mom and dad have tried to force me into being friends with other kids whose parents they are friends with several times... that was a disaster... I always ended up talking their parent's ear off." Jamey said. "Haha, you are 13 going on 30" gage teased. "I thought I'd have to wait until I was 18 and troll for older men to get someone I could stand!" Jamey said. "Well they can't fucking have you now, unless I get hit by a buss... then you can go find a sugar daddy." Gage said grinning. "Jamey grabbed him and made him walk on the opposite side of the sidewalk from the road. "Not gonna fucking happen Mr, that buss is gonna have to go through me." "That's adorable... your dad said you had your mother's protective temperament." Gage said. "What DIDN'T he tell you!" Jamey asked furiously. "Just the important things, like your favorite foods and music and all the stuff I need to know to figure out what to get you for your birthday in a week." Gage said looking at his feet. "I'm still clueless about that." "Read my mind psychic boy." Jamey teased. "Spell it out for me Mr. vocabulary... or draw me a picture... or write me a song... Jesus you have a lot of talents." He said... "I guess that would be a good place to start for ideas." "I don't need you to get me anything you dunce. You just told me you loved me, I'm keeping you now, that's all I want for my birthday." Jamey said. "Shut up, you know I'm shopping for your birthday. Mine is only a month after yours anyway." Gage said defiantly. "I'm going to plan something epic for yours boy, you better be ready." Jamey said. They talked and walked around the neighborhood, and by the time they made it back it was around 11 pm. They didn't have to worry much about either of their parents being too angry about their late return because it was a small town, and their parents knew that for these two, getting them to spend time outside of the house was the real worry. For Jamey's parents, keeping track of Justin was the hard part, they could always count on Jamey to be lounging somewhere with a book or tablet or his sketchbook. Bill was usually playing video games or chatting with friends on his phone the most trouble he'd ever been for them was when he'd almost drowned in their swimming pool. Jamey didn't want to live dishonestly with his family. Now that he knew he was gay, and was in a relationship, though it was new, he was going to tell them and get it over with. When they got back to the house, he asked bill to give Gage a ride home, and he was pretty happy for something to do actually. Jamey rode along. HE wanted to see what his older brother would say about him and gage. He vaulted himself into the front seat, and just sat there smiling the whole way home. "What's up with you grinning like that?" bill said. You didn't sabotage anything of mine, did you?" He asked, wondering if he'd done something to piss him off lately. "Nah, I'm just glad I have a good family, and a good friend, and am in a relationship with someone I really like." Jamey said. "Wow, when did you become so popular? You need some condoms?" He asked. "No. Not sure there is much point, we are both clean and, and we can't get pregnant so..." "Shit, you hit the jackpot then." He said. Jamey was just grinning so hard he couldn't stand it. "Oh I found out what I like to hit alright." He said. "You little fucker, lost your virginity didn't you? Was she at least hot?" Bill asked saying what he thought any big brother would. "Umm... It was hot. It happened last Saturday night while our parents were visiting with Alice and Annie after dinner." He said hinting. "So, how the hell did you sneak out, or sneak a girl in, when you were supposedly down in your bedroom with... oh... oh... nah... you don't mean him do ya? He asked surprised. Jamie nodded smiling. Yup, he's my boyfriend. Jamie said. Shit I didn't know you were gay...that explains a lot... That little blond boy? He is... umm... he's cute I guess... Good for you bro! but wait you didn't... you know, get penetrated did you? He didn't hurt you did he?" Billy said looking a little worried and protective. "NO, no, neither of us did that, that's a ways away, and a learning process... but we had a good time kissing and jerking off, and he finished me off with a blow job, and then jizzed all over my face which was fucking amazing... and he is really smart and quiet like me, and super sweet." "I kissed a boy and HE liked it! Then we both had a problem to solve, so... that's when we decided to get it over with." He said excited. "We are going to back up and take it slower now though... I really like him." Bill shifted uncomfortably and looked like someone had shot his dog. "What's the matter?" Jamey asked. "I grew up 4 years before the whole Gay sexual revolution took place, that's what." Bill said sulking a bit. "So you have a problem with me being gay because you are 4 years older than me? Can't you just be with the times now?" Jamey asked looking upset. "Oh boy," Billy said, "That's not what I meant, look it's not a problem with YOU being into dudes, I'm just fucking jealous." Bill said. "I'm happy for you just. A little sad for my own situation. You just never seemed interested in talking to me so I figured we had nothing in common. The whole ignoring girls so they would try and get my attention thing... didn't work for me, so I had to play sports to get their attention. Once I got in the locker room with all the fit naked dudes, I discovered that it wasn't girls whose attention I really wanted." He confessed. "It turned out I was really good at sports, and I didn't want to mess up my new friendships with the guys, I mean, I've messed around with half of them but they would kill me if anyone found out." "So, I've been dating the same girl since freshman year, and next year we graduate, but, well... she has a 20 year old Girlfriend. She isn't into guys..." "She doesn't care what I tell my friends, but I'm not into her either. We keep up appearances." Bill finished unloading his truth. "So? Are you into guys too then?" Jamey asked realizing why Bill had gotten uncomfortable when he'd talked about what he did with Gage. "Yeah, but I haven't found any that were into me for anything more than a quick blow job or jerk off buddy. You are lucky man. It's easier with kids your age and younger because we have come a long way socially, kids in my age group are still so stuck up about it." Bill said. Jamey gave his older brother a big hug. "I guess this explains a lot, like why you hide in your room and play video games even though you are a football player, and should be out with your friends." Bill looked at his younger brother and tears came into his eyes. "Yeah... I am afraid they will figure me out and won't want me on the team next year." He said. "I wish I could just be brave enough to tell everyone." "I'm happy for you though Jamey, and jealous, he's a little hottie." Bill said smiling. "His grandma told him something that helped though, she told him to Live honestly, or die a liar. We all gotta face the truth some time." Jamey said. "I am glad you talked to me about this." Bill said. "I almost thought you didn't like me, I mean, Justin is so much more like me, being popular comes natural to him, he looks up to me, but I had to try harder than he does." "I love you, Billy You are my big brother, I just don't like all of the macho shit you put on around your friends or when you are trying to act it up around Justin and his friends, It seems forced, but I figured you were just insecure." Jamie said. "Yeah, I can be pretty obnoxious when I'm around other people. I thought that's just what they expected from someone in the Jock crowd like me." He said. "It IS what they expect, but it's not you, and life doesn't give a fuck about expectations. Mom and Dad have 2 gay sons...that's not what they expected, but it's what they get, and you know they love us just as we are." Jamey said. "Yeah we got lucky, our parents are pretty cool about everything, they are smart, and honest, and real, like you." "Really, I don't know what the hell Justin is, he MIGHT be the golden boy every parent dreams of having, good at sports, popular, decent grades. He better have kids though, or mom and dad aren't going to have grandbabies." Bill said, "Unless one of us adopts, you know they won't care either way." "I like this version of you Bill, you are pretty cool." Jamey said hugging his big brother. Bill stayed in the car for a while listening to music. Jamie didn't know it, but his older brother was having a bit of a breakdown. He knew he had to tell everyone about himself if he wanted to really be happy, but he was still afraid his friends weren't mature enough to be cool about it. By the time he came in the house and tromped up to his room his eyes were red from crying. Why couldn't things be easier for him, and for everyone who wanted to be honest. He decided if he wanted things to change, he'd have to be part of the change, but he was going to give himself some time over the summer to figure it all out before he said anything to his friends. Jamie fell asleep that night without any trouble. He had peaceful dreams. And slept from midnight until 7 AM, which was a rare thing for him. It seemed for now, that everything was going to fall into place, that love and hope were everywhere. ** ** ** ** ** ** End Chapter 3 Contact the Author: authormrmasterson@gmail.com Follow for updates and bonus info: https://www.facebook.com/authormrmasterson
