And no guys, I'm not colour blind. So with that said, on with the story. My Little One I sit alone watching Signs, while my mother attends her companies annual ball. The screen plays: Mel Gibson loses his nerve and drops the knife on the counter, then retreats to the door from which he entered. He musters all of his strength together, and picks the knife up once more. He gets down on his hands and knees, using the knife to view what is in the pantry. Suddenly a clawed hand bolts out from under the door. Mel quickly slices of the monster's index and middle finger. Frightened enough from the scene, a knock comes from the door. Who would be at the door at this hour? I get up from the couch, wearing only a pair of gym shorts and an undershirt, and walk drearly to the door. The thing I first notice is it is raining, then standing before me, hanging loosely to the iron railing, is the boy who I always admire on my walk to school. Josh's blonde hair usually spiked, is now wet and frazzled. The beautiful green eyes that have looked at me many of time, are bloodshot. His little chest is bare and covered with blood. "Josh, do you want to come in?"I ask, still staring at the wonderful, yet appalling sight. He steps inside the door, with a small smile on his face. "Do you want to get cleaned up?" "Yeah, that would be nice." Josh says weakly. I take off my undershirt and pick up the bloody beauty, and carry him to the bathroom. I run the hot water in the tub, then go to my room to get something for him to wear. I choose a pair of my smaller boxers and gym shorts. When I return to the bathroom, he is just getting out of his clothes. He seems not to mind that I see him naked. I raise him into the tub, and he sits down. I grab a towel and washcloth from the nearby cupboard. As I wash his tight chest the water turns pink, and he flinches. "Did I hurt you?" I ask. "No. . .no. M. . .my. . .my. . .dad. . threw a b..broken b.. bottle at m. . .me. He was acting all weird, and he smelled funny. I think he was drunk" Explaining as best a distraught eleven year old can. I lower to his small and cut penis, I scrub it lightly. A little moan comes from his sweet mouth, holding back from doing more I move to his back. He stands so I may wash his cute butt, it is only then I notice the fading scars. "Josh, why. . .who. . .when?"I stutter. "My dad, anytime I'm bad, even if I don't do anything, he hits me. . . and my mom." Josh says. Bastard! How could he?! "I swear that I will never let him touch you again." It is as I say this that I notice he is crying. I rinse him off, and flush the wounds on his chest. In take him from the tub, wrapped in the oversized towel. His face is still wet, with his hair plastered to his forehead, I brush the few strands away and kiss him. I pull him close to me, hugging him tightly. I dry his body, then take out the gauze from the medicine cabinet, along with the tape. I patch up his chest, thinking how horrible his father is. "Grab a shirt from the drawers in my room. Meet me in the kitchen, okay?"I ask. "I'll be there in a minute."Josh responds. I warm a can of soup on the stove, as he walks into the kitchen. He wears my favourite Quiksilver shirt. I smile at Josh, and transfer the soup into a large mug, and set it upon the table. "Clam chowder?"Josh asks sarcastically. "What? You don't like it?"I ask a little hurt. "No, it's my favourite. How'd you know?" "I didn't, lucky guess. But I have one thing to ask you, why me? Why did you come to me of all the people on the block?" "Because of the way you always look at me in the morning. You always smile at me, and I just kinda trusted you. And, do you remember that day at the pool? You like, saved me when I went too far out in the deep end?" "That was you? Oh my god, I completely forgot." "Um, Scott, why did you kiss me?" (Sigh) "Because, I . . I don't, I . . .can't tell you. It's complicated." "C'mon, just tell me, please?" He looks me in the eye, DAMN! Why did you have to do that, baby? He could always get an answer out of me that way. "I kissed you because I love you. I care about you, when you told me what your father did, well, you can't imagine how mad I was." "Oh, I. . ." Josh begins to bawl, he runs to me and I take him into my arms. "What? What did I say? I didn't mean to hurt you." "No! It isn't that, I hate my dad and my mom doesn't really love me. I just can't believe that you actually love me. I just never. . ." "Listen. You don't have to tell me any more tonight. I want you to be all right. I don't want anyone to hurt you anymore. Let's just go watch some television." "Actually, I'm kind of tired." "Oh, do you want the couch, or my bed?" "Wherever you are going to sleep. I want to sleep with you. I feel safe with you. I don't ever want to go back to my house!" "We'll sleep in the living room. And I promise that I will do whatever I can to help you." "Thanks, Scott. I love you, too." I carry my new little brother, or should I say lover, into the living room. I turn out the lights, and meet him on the couch with a big heavy afghan. I lay down first, and he curls up like a kitten in my lap. I throw the blanket over us, and reach for the remote. "Could you leave it on? It helps me go to sleep?"Josh asks. "Yeah, that's fine."I say. I wake in the morning to the smell of bacon being cooked. It is then that I realize my hand lays lightly upon Josh's crotch. And that we have kicked off the covers. Gently, I lift his body and place him back on the couch, then cover him. I slowly walk to the kitchen, naturally finding my mom at the range. "G' morning. How was the ball?"I ask unenthusiastically, for I wanted to go. "All right, nothing too special. Just lots of people, candles and roses."My mom says, trying her hardest not to sound thrilled. "So, who is that little boy you were holding?" "His name's Josh. He came to the door last night, his dad was drunk and I don't think he could stand it anymore. And plus, he was bleeding. Josh told me that his dad threw a bottle at him. I was gonna go over later today to see if his mom was okay. And to pick some clothes up for him to wear. I really like him, mom." I explain. "I can tell. He's wearing your grey Quiksilver shirt. You won't even let me touch it. Scott, you haven't done anything to or with him have you?" "MOM! He's eleven c'mon. You don't think I'm just gonna go and do something to him right off the bat, do you? I care about him more than that." "I was just wondering. I know you, but not that well. Anyway, breakfast is almost ready. Go wake up sleeping beauty." "Haha. You think you're funny now don't ya?" I peer over the couch, looking at his sweet little face. Thinking of how his father could ever harm him. What's really on my mind is: How should I wake him up? So many choices, a kiss? Pounce on him? Nah. Too small for me to do that. Then, perfection! Tickling. I pull back the afghan slowly, revealing his lightly muscular legs and precious little toes. I go in for the kill, starting with the arch of his foot, working my way up to the ball of his foot. He starts giggling softly, working his way to a full on laugh. He then throws a pillow at me, I dodge it. "Hey, c'mon. Breakfast is ready. Oh, I want you to meet my mom, too." I say. "What, did she see us sleeping together? What did she say?"Josh panics. "Josh calm down," I pick him up, letting him wrap his legs around my waist, and feeling a little something prodding at my navel. "Josh. She doesn't care. Just like I don't care about little Josh Junior poking my stomach." He looks down and blushes. "Sorry, I didn't mean to." "Look, like I said. I don't care. Now let's go eat." I carry Josh into the kitchen, and set him down on the chair next to my usual spot. I get the carafe of orange juice out of the fridge, taking a few swigs from it before setting it on the table. My mom serves us then goes off to take her shower. "Listen Josh, today after we get showered I'm gonna go over to your house to pick up some clothes for you, and to check on everything. Especially your mom. Is there anything special you want me to pick up?"I ask. "No, just grab some of my clothes please?"Josh asks. "A sure thing." We finish up our meals and I head to the shower.
