"We can't keep him alive on a machine forever, he wouldn't want that. He's too active to be stuck in a bed like that." his dad told us after we were all gathered in the lobby of the hospital, trying not to cry. Me and Tori weren't embarrassed to let the tears flow. "But you can't! He could pop up out of the coma anytime! Give him a chance!" Tori was almost screaming at her father, still crying hysterically. "But Tori, understand that--" "Understand that you want to kill my brother without giving him anytime to recover?" she interrupted her dad. Everyone was silently sobbing over the decision at hand. The doctor came over to the group. "Sorry to interrupt, but I have the test results of Alex's latest Cat-Scan. If the family could gather with me over here, we'll review." The male doctor gathered with Tori and the parents. Me, Tonio and Bobby went to the other end of the lobby and sat by the nice tall windows. The rain was pouring onto the glass and the gentle tapping sound it made reminded me of the time me and Alex were sleeping over at my house. It was raining and we wanted to go outside reguardless. My parents said no, but when they went upstairs we snuck out and danced in the rain. Sure, we got in big time trouble, but we were 7 years old. The memory of this brought more tears to my eyes. I was sitting across from Tonio and Bobby. I was just staring out into the rain, remembering how the rain always relaxed us. "This is all too much, man. I mean, it's unreal," Tonio started to say, shaking his head, but his voice trailed off. Bobby put an arm on Bobby's shoulder. "I'm gonna go and see Alex. I'll be back." I got on my crutches and limped to the hallway, to Alex's room. I entered his room and went to his bedside. The tiny scars on his face and arms were healing, leaving only red marks. His nose still had the tubes going through it, helping him to breathe. "Alex, it's me, Max." I whispered to him. I did a silent prayer for him before deciding to go back to the group. "See ya later man," I said, and with that, I leaned in and gave him a soft kiss on the lips. "Mmmm," I heard a faint voice mumble. I opened my eyes and pulled away quickly. "That's.. no way t-to end a kiss..." I heard a grumbling voice talking to me. It was Alex! His eyes started moving, before they came open, and he turned his head to me and whispered, "Haven't I t-taught.. you any-thing?" He smiled at me. I was so happy I could've screamed. "Alex! Oh god, I missed you!" I ran back to the bed and gave him a gentle hug. He mumbled again. "Why can't I move?" he managed to get out, after some trial and error. "You don't remember?" I asked him in awe. "What happened ...to your eye? You ... get into a fight... or something?" "No, we - I mean, you, me, Bobby, Tonio and your folks were in a car wreak last week, but everyone's ok though." I explained to him gingerly. He looked a little scared. "Am I gonna die?" Alex asked me flat out. I didn't know what to say. "Now do you think I'd honestly let you die?" I grinned. He got quiet. Tori walked in. "Look.. what the cat... dragged in," Alex moaned at the sight of Tori. Tori's eyes widened, and she ran out of the room with a look of complete amazement on her face. Even though the lobby was on the other end of the floor, we still heard her telling everyone Alex woke up. Alex grinned. "Come here.... girly-boy," Alex grinned, and we kissed, and it was the best one yet. The gang burst into the room just as we were grinning at each other. "Alex, baby.." his mom said to him and she hugged him, followed by his dad and Tori. Bobby and Tonio exchanged words with him afterwards. We all stayed until it was very late. Christmas, to be exact. 12:02am. "Merry Christmas, Alex," I whispered to him while everyone else was socializing upon themselves. "Gee... Christmas and... I'm stuck here in... this room." Alex grunted, with his best sad face. I smiled. "But as long.. as you're here.. I don't care." I smiled more. "Boy, you somethin' else, you know that?" I said to him, sneaking him a quick kiss on the forehead. "I gotta get home, see you later," I said to him, and I called my mom and she picked me up. ---- sorry guys, this is all i have time to write for now. as you can tell, i'm kinda pressed for time, so i'm lucky to be able to write this. bye -Max http://maxstories.swsites.net Static382@Mindless.com Write Me or/and Visit My Site
