Classification: Mast, Oral Simon Story Part 20 The Monster With rehearsals for the school play and looking after the baby, life was pretty busy for the boys and they didn't see much of Alex, but he was always in their thoughts. They continued with their battle for a computer and Internet access, but hadn't had any luck. Neither Rose nor Gary, Robert's father, could see the need. Friday soon came around and it wasn't until Scouts that night that the boys saw Alex who seemed pensive when they met at the Scout hall. "Hi Alex. What's been happenin'?" Simon asked cheerfully. "Nothin' much." Alex replied apprehensively. Both Simon and Robert realised straight away that something was bothering their friend. "What's wrong?" Robert asked. "You don't seem yourself tonight." "Nothin'." Alex replied sharply, but this only confirmed that something wasn't right to the boys. "Come on mate. We know something is bothering you. If you tell us, we might be able to help." Robert persisted. "You haven't told anyone about last week have you?" Alex said quietly. "No. Why should we? Whatever happened was between us." Robert replied. "Good. 'Cos some of the guys have been giving me funny looks and saying things." "Don't worry about them. They're always making two plus two equal five. All they know is that we had a sleep over at your place last week." "So what?" Alex questioned. "You and two gays? They have naturally jumped to the wrong conclusion." "But they're right!" "Are they? They don't know what happened and that is how it is going to stay. You did nothing wrong, neither did we. All that happened was you showed us the Internet." Robert replied. In the mean time, Simon had wandered off and was talking to some of the other boys. Robert and Alex looked towards Simon. There seemed to be a bit of a heated discussion going on. Robert and Alex went over and joined Simon. "Have we ever tried anything on with you guys?" Simon asked the group quite forcefully. "Well, have we?" There came no answer from the group. "No. So why would we try anything on with Alex? Answer me that?" No one answered. "So what did you do at Alex's place?" Asked a younger member of the group. "We pigged out on some stuff from the fridge then we went on the Internet for a while. After that we went to sleep. IN SEPARATE BEDS!" Simon stated calmly. "That's right." Robert and Alex concurred. This seemed enough for the group and they started to break up. Beside which, they also knew what Simon was like when he got wound up. "Thanks guys." Alex said. He was learning rapidly how loyal Simon and Robert were both to each other and to their friends. The Troop meeting went well after that. The evening was spent discussing the program for Easter camp and finalising the program for Summer Camp which, this year, was being held in North Wales, on the lower slopes of Snowdon. They also played a couple of games. That night as Simon and Robert lay in bed, Alex was the main topic of conversation. Simon thought they had been unfair on him by accepting his sleepover invitation. This was mainly due to the hassle he could expect from others by associating so closely with them. Robert, on the other hand, disagreed. Alex wasn't stupid, he knew all about them and their relationship. He had also seen the hassle they got at Scouts, so he knew what he was getting into. In the end, they agreed to disagree. They cuddled up and slept well that night, despite the school play that was due to open the following Tuesday and all the nervous energy all of the cast would be expending, not just them. Monday came all too soon. The morning was spent in class as normal, but the afternoon would be the final dress rehearsal in front of the lower years of the school. Immediately after lunch, the cast and crew assembled in their designated places and final the preparations started. By 2 p.m., the cast was suffering badly with nerves. The opening actors were in place and the curtain was about to go up. The school orchestra struck up the prologue. Simon was standing in the wings and the moment the curtain started to move, he dashed off to the toilet. Robert followed him and was greeted with the sight of Simon's behind sticking up as he threw up. Robert immediately started reassuring him and they were both soon stood back in the wings. Robert's first cue came and on he walked. He looked as though it was the most natural thing in the world to perform in front of an audience. Simon didn't want to be outdone by Robert and when the time came he tried to upstage Robert. By 4 p.m., the rehearsal was over and the entire cast realised it wasn't as hard as they imagined. There were four evening performances that week and after the final curtain they all wished it could continue. The local paper did an article on the play and had a field day when they discovered the "Hero Scout", Simon, was in it. Simon and Robert went home after the final performance and as Simon opened the front door, both Robert and he had the shock of their lives. There stood Alex! Unknown to them, Rose and Gary had arranged for him to sleep over. There was a party like atmosphere in the house that night, especially when Alex told them he had seen the play that night. Needless to say, they all had a late night, but that didn't stop the boys from continuing the party after they had gone up stairs. After a little discussion, the bed in Robert and Simon's room was pushed to one side and a second was made on the floor that would take all three of them. It didn't take long for them all to pile in and switch the light out. There was now only the eary yellow glow from the street light coming in through a crack in the curtain. "Robby." Alex said nervously. "You remember what happened last time?" He paused, "can you... er... do it again for me?" "Sure, but are you certain? Remember all the hassle you had last week at Scouts though." Robert replied. He wanted to be sure Alex knew what he was getting in to as he remembered his discussion with Simon last week. "I remember." Alex replied as he pushed the covers down. "I'm in your hands now." After a slight pause all three of them giggled at Alex's pun. Robert turned round so that he was facing the foot of the bed. Alex certainly was ready judging by the sight that greeted Robert as he looked down at Alex. Slowly, he started with his hands. A hand grasped his favourite toy and as it started moving he knew by the action it wasn't Simon. Robert changed tactics. He moved his head closer and with a gasp from Alex, Alex's favourite toy disappeared from sight! Amid moans and groans from Alex, Robert did what he was good at. Before long he received the reward he was after. Alex lay there with a look of pure contentment on his face that told Robert that his friend was more than pleased with his efforts. Simon now turned his attention to Robert and after the now customary pop of a jar lid, Simon was ensuring Robert felt as good as Alex who just lay there and watched the show. After this, all three boys just lay in bed and relaxed. "Robby, you really love Si' don't you?" Alex asked. "Yea." Robert replied as he wrapped his arm round Alex's shoulder. "If I lost him I don't know what I would do?" With that he leant over Alex and kissed Simon on the lips. Robert also made a suggestion to Simon so that Alex couldn't hear. Robert lay back down still with his arm around his friend. Alex was laying in the middle when suddenly both Robert and Simon kissed him on the cheeks. Alex turned the colour of a ripe cherry. All Alex knew, at that moment, was how much he loved being with Simon and Robert. He loved the new things he tried with them. Alex suddenly gasped. Robert was busy playing with Alex's toys when Simon slipped him a finger. Alex gripped the invader tight, but a groan of pleasure escaped from his lips preventing him from denying the pleasure this invader was generating. Robert's actions soon complicated things as Alex gave a reward to anyone who wanted to claim it. Naturally both Robert and Simon collected it with their mouths sending yet more waves of pleasure through Alex's body. Discretion was the key word and Simon and Robert decided not to push forward to fast. They all spent what little was left of the night wrapped in each other's arms. The following morning was hectic as the three boys tidied up after the previous night, but all was sorted before the time came for Alex to leave them. The front door closed behind Alex and he walked down the path to the street. He had a couple of new experiences to think about. He liked fooling around with Simon and Robert. They were true and loyal friends and he knew that whatever they did together, nothing would become public knowledge. Just thinking about Robert's mouth caused him to get an erection. And what Simon did with his finger, well, he had never felt anything like that before. As Alex walked down the street a young girl with fair hair passed him. She smiled and he smiled back. She was, to him, beyond belief as her hair drifted freely with the breeze. She passed him and turned into a house, Robert's house. This puzzled him. Why was a girl that beautiful going to see Simon and Robert? He walked on, but all he could think about was the girl. Simon was about to answer the knock at the front door when Arthur barged past him. Simon thought about saying something about Arthur's manners, but didn't. The door opened and Sarah-Louise came in. "Hi Si'." She said as Arthur grabbed her hand and tried to escort past Simon and up stairs. "Hold on Arthur." "All right." Arthur replied sounding more than a little displeased at having to share her with Simon. "Hi Sarah-Louise. How are you?" Simon asked politely. "Fine. Can we have a talk later on?" She asked mysteriously. "No prob's. I'll see you when you come down." "That may be sooner than he thinks." She replied nodding in Arthur's direction. "If he keep this up." Arthur eventually got his wish as Sarah-Louise went up stairs with him. Simon headed off to the kitchen to help Robert with the feeding bottles. "I don't know what's going on, but Sarah-Louise wants to talk to me about something." Simon said to Robert as he sat down at the kitchen table. "Sounds interesting." Robert replied in a mock German accent. "Any idea what about?" He continued in his normal voice. "Nope, none at all." "Hm." Simon got up and helped Robert and with the feeds done they made a slap-up breakfast which seemed to draw the adults to them like bees to a honey pot. It wasn't long before they had to cook some more bacon and eggs for themselves. There was a sudden bang up stairs followed by the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs. Robert went out into the hall. He was about to call up to Sarah-Louise and Arthur when Sarah-Louise grabbed hold of him and hugged him tight. She was crying and her whole body was shaking. Robert led her into the sitting room and tried to calm her. "What's happened?" Robert asked. Sarah-Louise was upset, very upset. "That pervert upstairs." She said. Her voice was thick, but angry too. "Why, what's he done?" "He tried to get his hand in my knickers and... and do things to me." Robert hugged her tighter and moved his hand up from her waste to her shoulders. At that moment, Gary came in. "What's going on?" He asked. "I think you had better ask Arthur that." Robert said seriously. "Are you ok?" Gary asked Sarah-Louise. "I will be when I get away from that pervert upstairs." She put her head back on Robert's shoulder, crying. Gary stormed out of the room and his footsteps could be heard as he stomped up the stairs. Simon tried to help comfort Sarah-Louise, but she just shrugged him off. It took Robert almost 10 minutes to calm her down. Even then she insisted that he walk her home. It transpired that Arthur had indeed tried to "touch her up", but had come off a very poor second. He received a knee in the balls for his trouble and that was before his father had finished with him. When Robert returned, he was livid! He hadn't realised until now just how obsessed his younger brother was with sex, even to the point of forcing himself on a girl. He was about to go up and sort his brother out when the screams of pain from the living room told him that his father had beaten him to it. He burst into the living room intent on giving Arthur a piece of his mind. That was until his father's shout changed his mind. He had never heard his dad use strong language like that before and the screams that were still coming from his brother were the worst he could remember. Simon ushered Robert into the kitchen. "So she told you what he tried to do then." Simon said calmly, but there was a note of anger in his vice. "Yes!" Robert replied before hugging Simon tightly. Simon just let Robert hug him. There was nothing else he could think of to do or say. There was the sound of a scuffle in the hall and looking through the kitchen door, Simon and Robert saw Gary dragging Arthur by the arm towards the front door. "Robert. Show me where she lives." Gary said angrily. Robert guessed that by she, he meant Sarah-Louise. Robert reacted immediately. There was no way he wanted to get on the wrong side of his father. Simon came along too, but that was to keep Robert out of trouble. Once they had arrived at Sarah-Louise's house, the boys were sent home leaving Arthur to face the music with his father. On the way home, Simon and Robert bumped into Alex, literally. None of them were watching where they were going. "Hi." Alex said in his usual happy manner. "Hi." Simon and Robert replied together. "When I was leaving your house this morning I saw a girl go in. Who was she?" Alex asked. "That was Sarah-Louise. Why?" Simon answered. "She's gorgeous. Where does she live?" Alex asked innocently. "I'd leave it for a while. I don't think she will be having much to do with boys for a while." Robert replied. "Why? What's happened?" "Drop it please." Robert said in such a way as to leave no doubt in anybody's mind that the subject was closed. Robert felt really disgusted about what his brother had done. Well, not so much what he had done, but he way he had gone about it. He was also ashamed to think his brother could do such a horrible thing. They, Alex, Simon and Robert, were sat in the kitchen talking and having a drink when Gary and a justifiably upset and tear streaked Arthur came in the front door. Arthur went straight up to his room slamming the door in the process. Gary went into the sitting room and closed the door behind him. Robert immediately made a cup of tea and took it through to him. Gary was sitting on the small settee with his head in his hands. He looked up as Robert entered. His disappointment in his younger son was even worse than it had been when Robert had come out. After placing the tea on the coffee table Robert knelt down in front of his father and hugged him tight. They stayed like that for several minutes before Gary released Robert. "I'll be ok son. But it would be a good idea to go up and see your brother. I think he may need some support right now. Especially after what Sarah-Louise's father said to us. I'm so ashamed of him. How could he do such a thing?" "I know how you feel. I can't talk to him right now. I'll ask Simon to go up." Robert released his hug, stood up and left the room closing the door behind him. Needless to say, Simon wasn't too pleased about having to go up and talk to Arthur, but he knew someone had to. Robert arranged to meet him in the small park. Robert left with Alex and baby Michael. Alex left him at the end of his road leaving Robert with his thoughts as he walked quietly to the park. Simon joined him 20 minutes or so later. "Her old man was livid." Simon started. "And dad let him give Arthur another good hiding too." Simon was amazed that Gary let him do that. "It was the only way he would keep the cops out of it or Arthur could be in the nick by now." Robert just sat there not really listening. He was totally disgusted by what his brother had done. Robert just sat there. He wasn't in the mood for talking. He was reflecting on some of the things he and Simon had done in the past. "Robby. Robby." Simon said trying to extract his friend and lover from whatever dream he was in. "Eh. Uh. What is it?" Robert eventually asked. "You didn't hear a word I said. Did you?" "Sorry mate. I couldn't help thinking about what that bastard has done and relating it to some of the things we've done." "What do you mean?" Simon asked unsure whether he should be annoyed or not. "Take last summer camp. Do you remember what we did on the first morning with James and Thomas?" Simon thought for a few moments. "No. Not really." "We all went for a short walk and played that game flash-yer-dick-to-me. Remember?" "Oh yea. When James thought I was some sort of chicken because I wouldn't show him mine." "That's right. What did we do after that?" Robert asked. "We had a wanking session if I remember rightly." Simon answered. "That's right. But who did the work? Was it them or us?" Simon still wasn't sure what Robert was getting at. "Us I think." "Well, me, to be more precise. Did I ask them if it was ok? No. I didn't. So in some ways, I am just as bad as Squirt." Robert bowed his head. He felt guilty. "Woh! Hang on a minute! They wanted it to happen, Sarah-Louise didn't. If they had objected, would you have stopped? Yes you would. Arthur just kept taking what he wanted regardless of Sarah-Louise's feelings. No way are you the same as he is!" Simon was by now getting annoyed with Robert and his line of thinking. "I am just as bad. I kept taking what I wanted then and on other occasions too. Like with Alex the other night when I gave him a B-J. I didn't ask him. I just went straight ahead and did it. Sure he liked it, but I didn't give him a chance to say no. You know what it is like when those feelings take over. You don't have a chance to say anything, well nothing intelligible." With that Robert just stood up and ran off. Simon had no chance of catching him, not with the pram. All Simon could do at that moment was hope Robert wouldn't do anything silly. Simon headed home as fast as he could with the pram. All the way he was trying to work out whether he should tell Rose and Gary or just keep it to himself for the moment. They had enough to worry about without this too. In the end he decided to say nothing, for the moment anyway. Once at home, he lay Michael in his cot and told Rose he was going out on his bike for a while. She didn't mind. He spent the next two hours racing around all the places he could think of looking for Robert. He was getting quite worried by now and was seriously considering telling Rose and Gary when he had a brainwave. 'Why didn't I think of it sooner.' He thought to himself and peddled as fast as he could to his hiding place. He carefully hid his bike and climbed over the fence. Quietly, he crept up the railway embankment. He had to duck down several times as trains went passed because getting caught meant real trouble and he didn't want that for everyone else's sake. He listened at the door to the wooden hut. There was definitely someone inside, but whom? He remembered a small crack round the side. Placing his eye to the crack, he peered inside. There was someone in there, but he couldn't see who it was. He crept back to the door again and plucking up as much courage as he could, he pulled it open. "FUCK OFF SIMON!" Came a shout from inside. He knew immediately who it was and walked in. There, sat against the back wall in almost the exact spot he had been in a few weeks earlier, sat Robert. Tears were streaming down his face. Simon had never seen him so upset before. He knelt down in front of him and pulled him close. "Who was it helped me when I needed it most? Who showed me understanding and gave me strength when my parents died?" Simon asked. "It was you and there is no way I am going to stand by and let you tear yourself apart over this." "FUCK OFF!" Robert said again, but this time there wasn't anywhere near as much conviction behind it. Simon stood his ground and hugged him in even tighter. Robert knew about Simon's stubborn streak and eventually gave in. Wrapping his arms around Simon he gave him one of the tightest hugs he had ever given him while resting his head on his lovers shoulder. Simon felt his shoulder chill as Robert's tears soaked into his sweatshirt. Simon just responded by rubbing the back of Robert's head and the small of his back. "So what are we going to do about it?" Simon asked. "I don't know. We don't see much of James or Thomas any more and even less of Greg. But I can talk to Alex. At least, I can apologise to him." "Ok. Let's go there now and talk to him. Let's see what he thinks about your daft ideas?" With that the boys stood up and went back down the embankment and over the fence to Simon's bike. They headed back along the narrow, partially overgrown path towards the road. It wasn't very easy. Simon didn't want to let go of Robert or leave his bike behind, so they both got a little scratched by the brambles. The moment of truth came as they reached the end of the path up to Alex's house. Robert just stopped and stared at the house. "Do you want me to come in with you, or can you manage?" Simon asked. Secretly he didn't think Robert would go through with it neither did he really want him too. "Let's go home. There's obviously no one home. We can always come back later." Simon offered in an obvious attempt to put Robert off, for the time being at least. Robert turned and headed away, back towards home. He knew Simon was right and was slowly realising what a twit he had been getting himself into such a state. The trouble was he didn't want to look as though he was backing down either. 'How can I get out of this without losing face?' he wondered, but no answers came. Back at home, Simon ushered Robert straight up to the bathroom and cleaned him up before anyone else saw him. It was a close call too. Rose shouted to them to go into the kitchen as Simon closed the bathroom door. "Give me a minute or two then follow me down. You needed the toilet, but I beat you to it. OK?" Simon said hurriedly. Robert nodded. "Where have you been young man? Where's Robert?" Rose asked crossly as Simon entered the kitchen. "Robby's in the bathroom. He'll be down in a minute." Simon replied. "But that still doesn't answer my first question young man." Rose persisted. Simon tried to hold back from answering until Robert was there. At least they would both know the same story then. Simon also felt awful about telling a lie, but he felt that was better than worrying her with the truth. Robert came in on cue. "So, where have you been?" Rose was getting impatient now. It was obvious by the way she was standing and how she was looking at them. "It's my fault. I left Si' in the park and went off for a walk. I didn't realised the time until Simon found me and told me. Sorry mum." Robert said. "Sorry." Simon added. "I don't know. You two really worry me at times. I didn't know what had happened or where you had gone." She seemed relieved more than anything else. "Just remember what you are and who you are. People still aren't comfortable with that round here especially the older teenagers." "Sorry." The boys said together as they hugged her one on either side. "What's for lunch?" Robert asked realising he hadn't eaten since breakfast time. "There's some sardines in the fridge. Why not have sardines on toast?" "Great." Simon and Robert started to head for the door. "Hang on. I'm not doing it." Robert and Simon turned back and started preparing their own lunch. At that moment there came the sound of a baby crying over the baby alarm thing. Simon put the bread down and started to head for the door. "I'll go. You have lunch to prepare not to mention clear away afterwards." Rose said with a smile as she turned and left the kitchen. "Nice try mate." Robert said with a grin. "You win some, you lose some." Simon replied. "Yea, but this time you win." "How? Why?" Simon asked. "You didn't grass me up for those daft ideas I got so upset about." There was a pause. "You put the kettle on, I'll finish these." Simon realised Robert was making an apology to him the best way he could without losing face. Simon just grinned and filled the kettle. By the time Rose came back down, the boys were sat at the table eating but hadn't forgotten her. Simon poured he a cup of tea and she joined them at the table. The rest of the day was uneventful and as the lovers lay in bed that night, they both knew they had reached a greater understanding of how the other thought. With the events of that morning still fresh in their minds they just cuddled up and drifted off into the land of nod.
