Title: Spencer's New Life Chapter: 2.2 - In Health Ok, well I'm a damn liar and there isn't any messy love in 2.2 either. I thought putting sex in here would've taken away from the story. BUT I'LL GET AROUND TO IT!! I LIKE IT TOO!! ..probably too much. Cont... Tony's mouth hung open as the weight of what he just heard set in. Who was he? Had Spencer really just asked that? He didn't remember Him? didn't remember what they... did... "I'm... Tony." were all the words he could muster. "Oh, hi, my name's Spencer. Nice to meet you." Replied Spencer Tony grinned. He didn't know why. It wasn't a happy grin, it was more so an effect of the shock still gripping him. "Well I need to go." Tony stated. "Alright, nice talking to you." Tony picked up his things and awkwardly stepped around Spencer's bed to the door. He stopped in the door and turned back to face the boy. Expecting... no... hoping, for some fit of laughter to erupt out of his cute face. Nothing. A blank stare was all he received. Tony turned and left. There was no emotion left on his face. Afternoon Tony's phone buzzed in the cup holder. He had been driving down back roads for hours. Away from people, away from the problems. He looked at his phone: 'Joe'. He picked it up and flipped it open. "Yeah?" he answered "Tony! What the hell man the nurse said you left after Spencer had gotten up! Why didn't you call me?" "I... I don't know, he... kind of rattled me." "Oh... so you know?" "About him not remembering anything?" Tony choked tears back. "Well, he remembers some things... The doctors say his brain got too hot when he had his fever. But it's apparently not that bad, he remembers everything up until about a month ago." "...Will the rest of his memories come back?" Tony's heart warmed. He thought of Spencer in that hospital again to shut it up. "They said maybe." "Well that's real fucking useful isn't it?" Tony was losing it, he had to get control of himself or risk getting discovered. "Hey don't yell at me, it's those dam doctors, what the hell do we pay them for? They can't give any of us a straight answer. My mom already told half of them off." Humph, Tony would have loved to see that. Joe's mom was a terrifying woman. He didn't know why, she wasn't mean, you just DIDN'T mess with her. "Sorry it's just a little ridiculous." "Yeah tell me about it, he's my brother." 'He's my... boyfriend...' Tony thought will a twinge of anger. "So all they said was just 'maybe'?" "They said that and that if we remind him of a memory his brain might figure it out and he'll remember that memory again." Tony's eyes widened, 'I could remind Spencer about it and they could be together again?' he thought "...well at least there's that eh?" Tony said in the calmest voice he could. "Yeah, still don't know if it'll work though; but hey I've got to talk to you about something." Joe's tone changed. "ok... what's up?" Tony waited. "Listen, remember about two weeks ago?." 'Oh shit oh shit oh shit... Play it off' tony thought, "Ah, well I was pretty drunk but I remember some of it, you are talking about the party at the university right?" "Yeah man... Well I kind of... Saw you leave in the morning." "Ok, so?" "I saw my brother lean over to you... and after kissing you... He went down further..." Fuck. Silence. A long silence. Tony sighed, "I don't know what you want me to say..." "Tell me you actually care about him, because you're going to ruin both his and your life if you do this. So it'd better be for a dam good fucking reason." "I do." "You do what?" "I do care for him." "To what degree? Cause a fling isn't worth his childhood being THAT Fucked up. No pun intended." Joe spit out the last words in disgust, showing he was having a hard time not flipping out on Tony. "I love him." "DO YOU?" "Yes. I love his cute face, his laugh, his beautiful eyes, his boyish charm, his-" "Alright alright, I don't want to hear this about my kid brother." "S-sorry..." "Look man, right now he doesn't remember it. I half brought it up to see if he would freak out, he didn't. He doesn't remember it at all." "Yeah I know." Tony said quietly "I don't even what to know HOW you found out." Joe paused, "But listen, you need to make a decision. You can let him live out his high school years normally, he might not have someone, but it will be normal. Or you can have each other and he'll be a complete outcast." "Yeah..." Tony stopped. "Well, look, think about it, cause its on you now. And if you love him so much, think about what the consequences may be. Is it better your way?" "I-" Joe hung up. Tony swung his wheel hard and turned back the other way. He found to a road he knew, and then drove home. Night Tony lay in bed, pondering what to do, how to proceed. It was dark out, and the air was cool. He stared through the window above his bed, out to the stars. He watched them twinkle; hoping they were saying everything was going to be ok. Hoping they weren't just judging him too. He could still smell the boy on him. He thought his mother had noticed on the way in, but he had just ignored her and went to his bed. She knew this meant that it was something that Tony had to deal with by himself. He was safe in the silence. He could think in the silence. The questions crept back into his brain: Should he tell anyone? Would anyone listen? Or care? Joe knew and cared, but neither way that would help Tony. Would his mother care? Would his Dad? ...Yes... He knew the answer to that one... It didn't help though. He shut his eyes and breathed in deeply. He exhaled slowly, attempting to organize his thoughts and think about what was important. What about Spencer? If Tony was doing this, if he was the problem, he's making Spencer suffer... He couldn't let that happen. He wouldn't. He had to end it, for Spencer's sake. Spencer was the one thing he cared about in the world now; but the boy deserves a good life, and if it can't be with him, so be it. A single tear rolled down Tony's cheek. C'est la vie...such is life... He had decided. He would see him once more and say goodbye. He owed him that much... even if Spencer wouldn't understand what he meant. Then he would tell Joe, he doubted he could save that friendship but he might as well try. Nothing like having someone walking around with your darkest secret behind his lips; and doesn't hates your guts for knocking up his kid brother. He got up, and looked outside. The moon coated everything in silver, it had a taunting beauty. It said 'You had something even more beautiful, now you have nothing.'. He fell onto his bed to sleep. Early Morning The sun hit Tony's face. He sat up and swung his legs off the bed. His eyes were still closed. He got up and deftly grabbed his towel, and left the room. He opened his eyes in the hallway and walked into the pitch black bathroom. He turned on the shower and flipped on the small lamp over the sink. The air smelled of burning dust, no one ever turned this light on, they all used the switch on the wall for the big light. Tony looked himself in the face. His eyes looked sunken in, he hadn't slept well for obvious reasons. His dark brown hair hung in wild, curved spikes down over his forehead; completely unkempt. He stared into his own eyes. The green matched the shirt he had slept in; dark, emerald green, with a hint of grey. He looked down, sighed, and went to take his shower...cold. Late Morning Tony drove up to the hospital, parked and walked in. He made his way to the elevator and punched the UP button. He waited. Every second he wanted to turn and run away. Sprint through the hospital, knock everyone out of his way, get in his car and peel away. The door opened. His legs didn't want to let him walk in. He pushed the button for Spencer's floor. He came to the door of the ward. His brain told him to run. He turned down the hallway, his heart pleading not to do it. He came to the door. His hand shook as he opened it. He walked in and sat down in the chair next to Spencer's bed. Spencer was asleep still. His little chest went up and down as he slowly breathed in his sleep. Tony put his hand on Spencer's head, and forced himself to keep it together. He had to look benign. "Spencer." Tony whispered. "unnn..." Spencer shifted his head to Tony but didn't wake up. Tony shuttered, "Spencer.", he said more forcefully. Spencer's eyes snapped open and he was focused on Tony, as if he had been watching him through his eyelids. "Oh it's you; you were here when I woke up." Spencer said "Yeah... Umm..." Tony was fighting back tears, "I... just came to say... err, tell you... that I was leaving... the area... and I guess I'm not coming back." "Oh, alright. Something you have to do at home?" questioned the boy "Heh, yeah... I have to do... something." Tony said, his brain wouldn't work anymore. "Well, that's sad, I liked talking to you." "Yeah, well, I guess I should be going now..." "Do you have to?" "Yeah, its... I'm... not worth it." His voice full of sorrow. With that Tony walked out of the room. As he walked down the empty hallway, the reality was hitting him. The water flowed from his eyes, as he left behind the forever unknowing boy. 'It's better this way,' he thought, 'Now he can find someone his age, or live his life normally, or... whatever...'. Tony came to the door, the symbol of the end for him. It was done. He was done. His hand touched the handle, and a smaller one touched his. Tony turned slowly, not willing to believe his senses. A golden haired angel stood alongside him. The boy looked at him with crystalline eyes, leaned in on his toes and kissed Tony on the lips. Tony stood there, unblinking, unloving, not understanding what was happening. He turned and picked Spencer up in his arms and deepened the kiss. It was a kiss of love. A kiss that said 'thank you... dear god thank you...'. Tony's eyes flowed as he held Spencer. Tony leaned his head down, the crest of his head still touching Spencer's; his eyes closed. Tony breathed in deeply and slowly, trying to calm himself. "H-how..." was all Tony managed. Spencer smiled and wiped a tear off of Tony's cheek. "The doctors say I'll remember what I'm reminded of..." "But... but I didn't say anything..." Spencer lifted Tony's face to look at his, "Think about what you did when I woke up..." and Spencer kissed him. "It just took a while to set in." Then Tony realized; he had kissed Spencer. At his bedside, he had kissed him. Spencer knew this whole time. Spencer remembered. Tony hugged him tighter and Spencer held him back. Spencer remembered. He picked Spencer up and kissed him again, deeply, passionately. Spencer pulled back briefly, "and don't you EVER think that you're not worth it."
