Tales from another broken home.

Chapter 54: School Daze.

Restless tonight, Cuz I wasted the light.
Between both these times I drew a really thin line.
It's nothing I planned, not that I can.
But you should be mine, across that line.

If I traded it all.
If I gave it all away for one thing, Just for one thing.
If I sorted it out.
If I knew all about this one thing wouldn't that be something.

I promise I might not walk on by.
Maybe next time but not this time.
Even though I know I don't wanna know.
Yeah I guess I know.... I just hate how it sounds.

If I traded it all.
If I gave it all away for one thing, Just for one thing.
If I sorted it out.
If I knew all about this one thing wouldn't that be something.

From "One Thing " By Finger Eleven.

I was jolted from a deep sleep as Ryan came crashing down on top of me.

"Good morning sunshine." Ryan smiled.

"Ugh what time is it?"

"It's like 9 am."

"Dude I didn't sleep well last night."

"Aww poor baby." Ryan laughed.

"Sleeping." I shouted as I pulled him under the covers with me.

I lay with my arms wrapped around him our cheeks touching and my eyes closed sensing his every breath.

"Take off your shirt get comfortable dude I've got at least another hours sleep."

Ryan obliged throwing his shirt and pants onto the floor. He was wearing cute plaid boxers that tightly covered his bubble butt. He held me tight and kissed my neck.

"Gotta make the most of this. We're back to school tomorrow mornin at nine."

"Ry...you think people know...about what happened to me?"

"No I doubt it dude and anyone who does wouldn't mention it."

"I guess so."

I had to admit I was kinda nervous about going back and facing everyone after what had happened. It would also be the first time I could be openly "with" Ryan in school. It was cool and if anyone gave me any shit about it, Stevey was two years ahead in my school and was a pretty big guy. I wasn't really sure how to feel. I lay there with Ryan thinking about it.

"Are you okay dude?" Ryan smiled.

"I'm just kinda nervous about tomorrow. We gotta hang around with Matt tomorrow though."

"Why? That'll be really awkward Ri."

"He's got no friends other than us man I can't just abandon him. Anyways it's just untill he gets some friends of his own."

"Ok I guess."

"I guess I'll have to repay you for helping me out."

"Yeah you owe me big time."

I reached under the covers pulling Ryan's boxers off. My head slipped under the covers and I began to lick at Ryan's growing cock. I could hear him moan gently and as I moved a finger up his ass I felt his entire body tighten. I kept licking away and I moved my finger gently in and out of his tight ass. It wasn't long untill I felt his body jolt forwards and he shot a strong load.

"That cover it?" I laughed.

"Yeah just about." Ryan smiled grabbing me into a hug.

I lay in Ryan's arms feeling safe once again. This is why he was better for me then Matt. Matt couldn't protect me Ryan could. We lay there for a while, Ryan left around seven to finish off some reports for the next morning. The next morning I was buzzed out of my sleep by my new alarm clock. I grabbed a shower before throwing on some dickies shorts, a pair of converse and a Jimmy Eat World shirt. I shoveled a bowl of cereal into my mouth before running to Carries to get a lift to school.

As I was heading in the door Matt ran upto me.

"Hey Riley." He smiled.

"Hey dude."

"Are we still friends?"

"Yeah, of course man."

"Ok that's cool I guess I just wasn't sure."

"Listen Matt I'm sure you'll find someone else that you can be with and just make sure your Mam doesn't know."

"Yeah but she says I can't have guys stay over anymore."

"Well dude that's her problem. I don't know what she's so scared of."

"She said it would be a tough life if I was gay and she can't accept that I am. She just wants the best for me."

"I guess so dude but I don't think this is the best."

"Me neither but I know she loves me."

"So you make any new friends yet?"

"I'm playing in a band with a couple of other kids."

"Cool. I just joined a new band too."

"I guess we might see each other at gigs and stuff?"

"Maybe dude."

School flew by I painted and talked to Mr. Hanson about some really cool graffiti from a book he loaned me. I had written a poem for poetry and the teacher actually liked it and was cool enough not to talk about it in front of the class just with me afterwards. All and all it was a good day. At lunch I talked to Stevey and Freddie about the band for a while and they introduced me to a load of their friends. I spent the rest of lunch with Ryan, Carrie and Matt. As we were talking Aaron approached.

"Hey guys. It okay if I sit here?"

"Yeah sure." Ryan smiled.

"Listen guys I was kinda hoping we could be friends. I know we kinda have a difficult history but.....eh...."

"I'm cool with you Aaron." Ryan said putting out his hand.

"Me too." I smiled.

Aaron sat with us and we talked for the rest of lunch. I had forgotten how cool he was and after some of the things I had done he was pretty forgiving. The rest of school flew by and I got a lift home from Carrie's Mam at 4. I finished my homework in about two hours and grabbed a shower before heading to Jerry's for 7pm practice. I sat with my Mam and quickly downed dinner in front of her.

"Riley honey we don't talk much anymore."

"Sure we do Mam."

"Not really honey. Your always gone somewhere and I've got classes all the time."

"We'll talk when I get home if you want?"

"Ok honey I'll wait up for you and I guess I could bake something."

"Cool."

I grabbed my backpack and ran to Jerry's which was a five minute walk. When I got there Aaron was outside the front door having a smoke with Stevey.

"Hey dude."

"Hey Aaron."

"Jerry and Stevey just wrote a new song and it's fuckin crazy."

"Cool."

"Get in there and put some lyrics to it."

"K I guess."

I sat listening to Jerry and Stevey play their song and started jotting down whatever came into my head after a half hour I was piecing sentences together from the words and phrases I had written. We practiced the rough version of the song with Aaron adding some drum parts and Frankie with a cool rhythm part. We played it over and over and I changed the lyrics a couple of times before they were just right. By the end of the night we were pretty happy with the song and that made 7 songs we had ready to perform. I had been writing lyrics like crazy for the six songs the band had written and the final drafts were now ready and practiced. We played our entire set through and afterwards everyone was buzzed. It was a great natural high from achieving something. I got home at about 11 and my Mam was sitting on the couch waiting for me with some muffins.

"Hey Riley."

"Hey Ma."

"How did it go?"

"It was pretty cool. We wrote a new song and we've got the other six off perfect."

"That's great. When should I expect a gig?"

"I don't know Jerry's talking to some of his friends that book bands."

"Jerry seems like a good influence."

"Yeah he was explaining the straight-edge thing to me and it was kinda interesting."

"It's something people from our family should consider." My Mam winked.

"Yeah I guess so."

"Is school going ok?"

"Yep. They haven't kicked me out yet."

"I guess we both gotta get some sleep kiddo. I'll see you in the morning."
