But as far as I know it was just me and George; Will, Charles and Big Tom; and a couple of others who are soon to appear. I've not mentioned other boys who I befriended or were friends of George or Will as it's not really what my diary is about. They may have been messing around with each other but I never really picked up any hints and it's probably doubtful. There were a lot of boys and girls I got to know but not sure anyone is too interested on who was best at cricket or who asked who out to a dance etc I also mentioned in an earlier chapter that a lot of evacuees did not enjoy the life I did and went through a lot. One of these was Norman who I'd travelled up from London with and didn't end up too far away from me. I never saw him at first, he never turned up to school (not sure if he was due to come to mine anyway) and I'd totally forgotten about him. However one weekend late in the summer holidays, I did see him again. Not sure what event it was but we all headed down to Ironbridge as did most of the local people. Mr Woods was very nice but he was out at work a lot so I didn't see as much of him as Mrs Woods. She was the real power player in the local community! She was well respected and was often the person people came to with their problems. Anyway I digress, so the five of us were down in Ironbridge walking through the throngs of people, when I thought I saw Norman nearby. He was standing with a tall well built man and another boy who was probably Will's age if not slightly younger. Mrs Woods spotted them too and dragged us all over. "Hello Jeremy, how are things?" she asked the man as she kissed him on the cheek. She introduced me to Jeremy and said he was her second cousin. She said hello to the boy who was called Frank and got introduced to Norman. As this was going on George whispered in my ear that Jeremy's wife died 4 years ago and then his eldest child Molly had died last year only aged 19. He also said Jeremy wasn't a nice person in his opinion. George and I said hello to everyone, I straight away could tell Norman wasn't happy. He looked a lot thinner than when I saw him last, unhealthily so. He had a scared look in his eye and I whispered to George that something was wrong with him. "Norman, show me and Tom where the toilets are, we're busting". George said taking control. Jeremy stopped talking to Mr and Mrs Woods to say he'd rather Norman stayed with him. George flashed Will a knowing look and he stepped in, "Don't worry, I'll go with them and make sure they don't get in to trouble" Will said. I could see Jeremy wasn't happy but there wasn't much he could say as Mr and Mrs Woods said it would be fine. We walked quickly through the crowds to the toilet block, and once we were out of sight, I put my hand on Norman's shoulder and spoke to him "Norman, I know something is wrong. Tell us, we can help". He shook his head and looked like he would cry, "No one can help". Will said that was bollocks and that his Mum had a lot of influence locally, there wasn't much she couldn't fix. Norman didn't say anything for a minute but then took a big sigh and started talking, looking down all the time as tears slowly ran down his cheek. "I'm living in hell. Jeremy is a bad man. He works me all hours in the fields and doesn't feed me properly, I'm hungry all the time. But it's worse than that. When his wife died he made his daughter behave like his wife including in the bedroom. I don't know what happened to her but there was an accident on the farm and she died. Maybe she did it to escape. Since then Jeremy is using Frank like he used her and is making him sleep with him, he shoves his dick up his bum. If he protests he gets beaten. He....he sometimes makes me watch him do it with Frank. Frank is nice to me, he cries after his Dad fucks him, he hates it and he hates him. It's got worse recently, Jeremy has said he wants me to help share the burden with Frank so....so..so he's started to make Frank stick his dick up my bum to get me used to it and to "get me ready" for Jeremy's bigger dick. Frank tries to be gentle but it really hurts." "If it hurts you're doing it wrong" Will said, "How would you know?" George said. Will blushed bright red, first time I'd seen him do that! "Er well me and Charles and Tom might have done it occasionally. You need to make sure your dick and bum are lubricated with something like oil or butter or vaseline. It feels great if done properly. Anyway go on Norman" Norman said he really liked Frank and sometimes they did stuff together when Jeremy wasn't there just to try and keep their spirits up, "just playing with each other's dicks usually, sometimes a bit more". Norman said blushing. . He also said that Jeremy insists on watching Frank fuck him and beats them both if he thinks they aren't doing a good job. Jeremy had said in a few weeks Norman will be ready for him. "I've thought about running away but where would I run to?" Norman said between sobs. Will stepped in at this point, "This is wrong Norman and we will fix it, for you and if we can for Frank as well. Don't let on we know and we'll try and do something about it as soon as we can. Hopefully you won't have to put up with it for long. Now we better dry those tears and try to make it look like all is fine. And if anyone does need a piss do it now because otherwise it'll look a bit suspicious if we need to come here again in a few minutes" Norman and George went to the toilet and then we walked back towards the others. Will said to be all smiling and act like nothing is wrong. He then saw Charles and his younger brother Robert waving at him and said it gave him an idea and he'd catch us up. We got back and Jeremy said we'd been a while, George said the queues were long and deftly changed the subject by asking Jeremy if he had any advice on how George could improve his batting when we played cricket. Jeremy went on a bit about elbows and head positions while I said hello to Frank and chatted to him. He also had that scared rabbit look to him and I really hoped we could help them out. It was the 1940s though, this sort of thing went on in families and no one got involved, it was seen as none of their business. Having said that as Norman was an evacuee that gave a bit more leeway potentially although Jeremy would no doubt have liked the stipend he got for taking Norman in , let alone the free labour and other things he wanted to use him for. Will came over and said to his Mum that Charles's Mum needed her advice on something and could she pop over with him. His Mum said of course and I could see she loved the role of being the fixer! Mr Woods chatted to Jeremy about some tedious things while George and I tried to keep Frank and Norman chatting and smiling. Jeremy then said that they had to head back home, Mr Woods was a bit surprised and said they hadn't been there long but Jeremy said there were things to do and that the boys had their chores and responsibilities to carry out. Knowing what I did, that phrase took on a sinister turn and I had to stop myself from going batshit crazy at Jeremy. But as I said, it was a different time, it wouldn't have done any good and would have embarrassed the Woods and maybe make Norman and Frank's situation even worse. We said goodbye albeit reluctantly on the part of me and George, as they started to leave Mrs Woods rushed over "Wait Jeremy! I've just been talking to Mary and Stan said he'd like to chat to you about a business proposition. He wouldn't tell me about it but wanted to meet at the Coalbrookdale Inn tomorrow for lunch at 1pm, sounds important!" She said hurriedly. She suggested Jeremy chat to him now but he said he had to go but to inform Stan he'd be there. "I'm sure these two can stay out of a trouble for an hour or two without me" He said with a nod in the direction of Frank and Norman. With that they were gone, George and I looked at each other and had no idea what to do. Will came back over with Charles and Robert, I hadn't met Rob before, he was 12 and a bit smaller than me and George, he had flaming red hair and an infectious laugh. Neither of his parents were particularly red haired so no idea where it came from, genes I guess. Anyway we chatted for a few minutes and Mrs Woods said she needed to chat to her husband and left us alone. George said angrily to Will that Norman had gone home to who knows what and "it seems that we haven't done a thing to help him". Will smirked at him, "You're wrong Georgie, if only you spent as much time thinking as you do sucking Tom's dick then you'd have spotted the wheels are already in motion". George's face went purple in embarrassment and anger, I blushed bright red, Charles giggled and Rob looked at us both in shock. George looked like he was about to throw a punch at Will when Mr and Mrs Woods came back and everybody settled down although I could sense George was seething too. We hung out for a while, playing and enjoying the festivities before Mr Woods said it was time to go as we had an errand to run on the way home. We went off a different way and after a while pulled up a nice well kept cottage where Mrs Woods knocked on the door. A slightly overweight lady opened the door, they embraced and Mrs Woods came back after a while looking satisfied and we drove home. George was still seething, partly at being embarrassed by Will and being exposed in front of Charles and Robert as a cock sucker, and also as he was worried about Norman and Frank. Mrs Woods must have sensed that as she turned to us and said "I won't embarrass all of us by talking about it but I want you to know that I know about Norman and Frank and I am sorting it out. If all goes to plan Norman will be out of there tomorrow and hopefully Frank will be too. That's all I'm saying for now". That cheered me and George up and we had a good evening. That night I crawled into his bed and we held each other close and talked about how terrible Jeremy was and how bad things were for Norman and Frank. I told George it could have been me if it wasn't for his family taking me in, George said he'd never let anything bad happen to me and we kissed and fell asleep. I woke up the next morning still in George's bed which was a real squeeze, I could feel his hard dick pushed up against my bum which was not unpleasant. Not wanting to be caught I sneaked back into my bed but really wished we could share a bed more often, the warmth and the comfort reminded me that however happy I was there I was still a bit homesick sometimes. When he woke up I popped back over to his bed and we wanked each other off, afterwards I told him "I woke up this morning and your hard dick was sticking into my bum, were you trying to bum fuck me or something?!" I said with giggle. He giggled back and said it sounded a very strange thing to do, "surely your dick gets covered in shit?". I agreed although we both said we should find out more info from Will, "just in case" and we giggled again. That day passed in a whirlwind. Mrs Woods had planned the whole thing, Jeremy went to meet Stan at the pub, as soon as he did that she went round and got Norman and Frank. She dropped Frank off at the house we stopped at the day before who was a relative of Jeremy and Mrs Woods. Norman got taken to live with Charles and Robert. Stan told Jeremy that he wouldn't claim the money for Norman's evacuee so he could still have it but that he would never have access to either boy again and if he didn't want the police finding out he should stick to that. It sounded risky and that Jeremy would react but Stan was a well off man and the Woods were well connected to it seems he did as he was told. I was relieved that they were both safe, I know what happened to Norman but not Frank at first. I hoped he was ok and safe from Jeremy but I never tried to find out initially which I felt bad about. At the same time it was thanks to us that he got out of the terrible situation he was in. It's sad to say that Norman was not the only evacuee who was abused and mistreated, it was all too common and leaves a bad taste in the mouth when I see politicians going on about the wartime spirit etc. However I was definitely one of the lucky ones and for that I'm eternally grateful to the Woods family. I was left with a new found respect for Mrs Woods and her local political powers, she was obviously someone who was great to have on your side!
