As always life and school had taken over. At thirteen years old ideas can flow in and out of your head very quickly and this was no exception. The thought was still there in the deeper recesses of Matt's mind though, the seed that Will had planted hadn't totally disappeared. As Will introduced Matt to Rob for the first time in their classroom on his first day of school Matt thought he had a flash of recognition as he saw Rob. He was convinced he'd met him before but he couldn't think when or where. Rob had fairly long auburn hair and green eyes. The word "cute" was audibly mentioned by a few girls as soon as they'd seen Rob and Matt thought that if that was your thing then yes Rob probably was cute. He didn't quite have elfin features but there was something vaguely fantastical about him. The hair colour reminded Matt of the character in the book he'd read a couple of weeks ago and the wizard thought briefly popped back in his head. While he thought it was utter bollocks, if there was ever a boy who looked like a wizard like then Matt thought it was Rob. It was soon forgotten though as he got to know Rob properly. Will was right. Rob was funny and nice. A pleasure to hang around with and Matt enjoyed hanging around with Rob as much as he could. Rob was great at making the boys laugh, he stood up for his friends when he needed to even though he was pretty much the same size as Matt with Will towering above both of them. As the weeks passed Will's already good friendship with Rob deepened and Matt grew close friends with Rob as well. Will was pleased to see that and it amused him how enthusiastic Matt would get when he talked about Rob. "Rob is so funny, not quite as funny as me obviously but it makes a change to have someone on my mental wavelength," Matt said to Will with a giggle as they walked home school one day some weeks after Rob had started school. "Is that a suggestion I'm not?!" Will asked in mock outrage. "Well you said it! But seriously, he's really nice. We've got a lot in common as well. It's just nice to have another good mate to hang around with. I wonder if I should join scouts with the two of you as well?" Matt looked thoughtful as he said this. Will was pleased to see Matt like Rob but he was quite keen to have some parts of his life separate from his best friend. "You'd hate it! We have to go skinny dipping on camp together!" Will replied knowing that sort of thing would put Matt off. "Does that mean you've seen him naked?" Matt asked in surprise. "Maybe, why are you asking?" Will asked, curious as to what was behind Matt's question. "Well no reason, just surprised that's all!" Matt said perhaps a little bit too quickly Will thought. Matt then continued rushing on with his words,"It just seems Rob is a get changed behind a towel sort of person like me. Not that I've really noticed of course. But anyway not sure scouts is for me though. All sounds a little bit too homoerotic wearing uniforms and then going swimming naked together. Actually more like Hitler Youth!" Matt said with a giggle. He'd always taken the piss out of Will for going to scouts with it's weird rules and rituals. Will didn't mind though and sighed in relief that Matt likely wouldn't be joining. Still, Will was very pleased to see Rob and Matt become such close friends. He'd been a bit concerned that Matt might get jealous and try to scupper the whole thing and make everyone's life difficult. Luckily that wasn't the case and Will suspected it was because Rob was so relaxed and easy going. At the back of his mind Will hoped it might be more than that but for now that was probably too much to hope for. It was just important that things were going in the right direction and that it wasn't complicating Will's life. Where Will's life was getting complicated was Jessica. He was getting friendly with her and her friends and he'd been tipped off that if he asked her out then she'd certainly consider it. But he was stuck in the same problem before where Matt was still making it vocally clear he fancied her too and expected Will to abide by their agreement not to ask her out in order not to upset each other. Will didn't really feel he'd agreed to this but he didn't want to upset Matt. He let Jessica's friend know that he wanted to ask Jessica out but that he had to manage the situation with Matt first. "Don't wait too long, she doesn't like to be kept waiting. There's a line of boys who would be more than happy to ask her if you aren't interested!" He was told. He protested that he was very interested and asked for a bit more time. He didn't know how to handle things with Matt though. After some thought he decided to take a risky approach that might backfire particularly if Matt found out. However he was at the point where it was worth taking a risk and so he thought he would discuss things with Rob. "So....do not tell Matt we had this chat but this whole Jessica thing is starting to get out of control. I fancy her. Matt claims to fancy her. He says we can't ask her out as it will upset the other one. She says she wants me to ask her out. If I do that Matt will hate me. If I don't then neither of us goes out with Jessica. Have you got any advice on what to do?" Will asked Rob when they were hanging out at Scouts later that week. "What do mean Matt "claims to fancy her"? Do you think he doesn't?" Rob asked in surprise as they started to put the kit they'd been using away. "I honestly don't know. He says he does and I can certainly see why he would! But he doesn't really talk to her and he's not really shown much interest in girls to be honest." Will said with a shrug. "That doesn't mean he doesn't though. What has he shown interest in?" Rob replied. "Not much really, while he might talk a good game when it comes to action I've not seen him do much at all. Although I've noticed him check me out in the changing room when I'm getting changed after swimming or showering after P.E and Games," Will said feeling slightly guilty even mentioning this, "Well you aren't exactly subtle about it! You literally try and get the whole changing room to see you naked! So that doesn't prove anything Will!" "I know I just...I dunno I...don't say anything but I do wonder if he might like boys as well or instead of girls," Will said, vocalising something he'd always said he would keep to himself. He felt bad about throwing it out there but he knew Rob well enough to know he'd not be bothered at all, in fact maybe the opposite. Rob laughed, "I think you're getting carried away Will! He's a teenage boy like us. Our hormones and desires are all over the place. As is the need to see how we compare down there. I mean come on Will, if you decided every boy who'd clocked a look at another boys dick in the changing room was gay then there wouldn't be many straight boys left over! So what do you want me to say or do? Matt isn't going to listen to me I imagine. I can't just magic a solution out of the air where he suddenly gives you the green light to ask Jessica out!" "Can't you?" Will asked hopefully. "I'm not sure my powers stretch that far!" Rob said with a smile. Still he told Will he'd give it some thought and do what he could. Then they would just have to see what transpired which seemed to reassure Will. Rob did think about what Will had said when he was back home after scouts. He wasn't sure Will really knew what he was expecting Rob to do for him. While Rob could be incredibly persuasive if he really had to, he knew his limitations. That sort of power was a well you could only tap once or twice before it ran out. Still he wanted to help Will out and do what he could. After all Rob thought, maybe it could work out well for everyone?
