The disclaimer is plastered all over the 'net, so it's kind of a "duh!" thing by now. :) So, keep reading... We finally arrived at the police station. Chris and I were escorted inside and made to sit on a long, wooden bench. Lewis was sitting on the opposite side of the large waiting room, staring directly at me. His scowl made me quite uncomfortable, and Chris noticed. Chris released my hand long enough to apporach an officer and speak for a minute. Then he returned and grabbed my hand again. I watched in amusement as two officers escorted Lewis to an adjoining room. I looked over at Chris and beamed. "Anything to make you feel better," he answered my thoughts. "Thank you. May I ask you a question?" "You just did." He grinned at me. "You may now ask another." "If your ex-boyfriend moved to Mooresburg, there's a chance I know him. Who was it?" Before Chris had a chance to answer, Peter and Jason burst through the front entrance. I let go of Chris's hand and ran up to them. We hugged for a moment, then I pulled back. "What are you two doing here?" "I convinced dad to bring us." Jason answered. "We heard on the police scanner that you were being brought in." "Which begs the question, what are you doing here?" Peter asked. I sighed. "After school, I came here to meet someone. I'll tell you about it later. Right now, I want you to meet him." I turned to where Chris was sitting and waved him over. As he walked up, his eyes got wide. Puzzled, I turned and saw Peter's jaw drop open. Jason and I just looked at each other and shrugged. "Peter?" Chris whispered. "What are you doing here, Chris?" Peter asked. "I came with Brent. Uncle Lewis took him..." Peter looked at me, his eyes getting moist. He pulled me into a hug and started crying. I patted him on the back and tried to calm him down. I looked over at Chris, my look asking him to explain. Chris sighed. "Peter is my ex." It took a moment for those four words to sink in. When it did, I hugged Peter harder. I can imagine the pain he was feeling right now. Especially since I recently went through it. After a few moments, Peter calmed down. I pushed him away just enough to look him in the eye. "Why didn't you tell me?" "Because I didn't want you to know." "Wait a minute," Jason put in. "You mean Peter's gay, too?" I looked at Jason and nodded. Jason suddenly went pale and went to sit down. I glanced at Chris and Peter, and the three of us walked over to Jason. "Are you all right, Jason?" I asked. "I...I'm not sure." "I've always been told to talk about my feelings. It helps to understand them. I believe you were the one who told me that, remember?" "All those times you stayed over. I should have known. You were so eager to spend the night with me. Why didn't I realize it?" Jason seemed to be off in his own world. Peter and I exchanged puzzled glances, then looked at Jason again. Jason turned his gaze upon Peter. Neither of us were expecting what happened next. Jason jumped up from the bench. "You sorry SOB!" he yelled, looking at Peter. "You were just waiting for a chance, weren't you? All those nights you stayed over. Did you do something to me while I slept? Did you touch me? Did you touch yourself while looking at me?" Peter, Chris, and I took a step back. I wondered where this tirade was coming from. As long as I've known them, Peter and Jason were best friends. Nothing could have turned them against each other. Until now. "Jason, calm down." Peter said. "I will NOT calm down. I want the truth. Did you ever do anything to me in my sleep?" "Jason, you have known me for a long time. You should know by now that I wouldn't do anything to hurt you. Awake OR asleep. I stayed over at your house because we are friends. You know how it is at my house." "Do I? Come to think of it, you never offered to let me stay over at your house. How do I know what it was like over there?" "Jason, stop it." I broke in. "Peter isn't the enemy here. You and I both know why you are really upset." Jason glared at me. "You promised you wouldn't tell anyone." "And I'm not going to, either. If Peter doesn't know, then don't hold that against him. And while we're at it, I know for a fact how bad it is over at Peter's house." "He invited you over and not me? I see how it is." "No, Jason, you don't. Peter didn't invite me over, I just went. Remember that week he was out with the flu? I took his homework to him every day. I wanted to stay with Peter, but I couldn't stand to be in the same place as his sister. "If you will let Peter explain, you just might understand what's been going on. If not, then you aren't worth our time." Jason looked shocked. To be honest, I was shocked, too. I had never spoken to either of them this way before. Jason was just acting childish, and he had to be brought down. Even after I said it, I felt awful. It must have shown in my face, because Jason softened and nodded his head. Just then, a police officer came over. "Which one of you is the victim?" he asked. "That would be me, officer." I said, turning around. "Please come with me. We need to take your statement now." "Can Chris come?" "Sure, I don't see why not. Moral support is always a good thing in a case like this. Besides, if I read the report correctly, we need to talk to him as well." I hugged Peter and Jason again, then took Chris's hand and followed the officer. We trekked down long halls until finally entering a small conference room. Chris and I sat at one side of the table, while the officer sat across from us. The officer reached over and switched on a tape recorder. "This is so we don't have to fill out lengthy reports while we talk. Let the record show that this interview is in reference to file RAP3BM14-1-1. For the record, please state your full name." "My name is Brent David Michaels." "Could you please explain the events which led to your horrible experience?" I paused a moment. "How far back should I start?" "Well, let's start with why you came to this town in the first place." "OK, well, I had just checked my e-mail--" "I'm sorry, but for the record, what day was this?" "This was just last night." "Let the record show that the night in question was Sunday, June 14, 2000. Please continue, Brent." "Right. I had checked my e-mail, and noticed a message from someone on American Singles. I sent him an e-mail, then found him in a chat room. We started talking, then he invited me to Talbott to meet him after school today. "I agreed, and we decided to meet at Cuppa. After school, I took a city transport bus to Talbott, then walked to Cuppa. There I met a guy who said he was Chris's uncle." "And his name was...?" "Lewis. Anyway, Lewis told me that Chris was still at school in a club meeting, and he would take me to pick Chris up at the school. Lewis and I got to his car and left Cuppa. During the ride to the school, he kept placing a hand on my leg. "I had to remove his hand several times before he got the hint. He asked me why I didn't like other guys touching me. I told him that it depended on the guy. Lewis then explained to me that he didn't like the fact that Chris was gay. "He wanted to make sure that Chris wouldn't get a boyfriend, in hopes that Chris would return to 'normal'. When I asked if he was going to scare me into becoming straight, he said he would, and I told him it wasn't happening. Then I guess he hit me, because I felt pain and blacked out." I felt Chris tense up and looked over at him. His face was hard as stone, and he was staring straight ahead. Seeing him like that made me wonder if it really was a good idea to have brought him in with me. Well, it was too late now. I might as well continue. "When I came to, I was lying on the ground in a forest. My hands and feet were tied, and bound together. When he saw I was awake, Lewis pulled down my shorts and underwear. I tried to get away, but he kept hitting me to keep me still. "He reached around and started fondling me. When I struggled, he would either squeeze real hard, or yank on it. Then he got closer, and I felt him trying to spear me. He just shoved it all the way in." At this point, I was crying again. Chris looked over and gave me a hug. I noticed that Chris was crying as well. The officer was kind enough to give us a few moments, then he cleared his throat. I dried my eyes and continued. "Right after Lewis entered me, I heard the sound of rustling leaves behind us. I looked around behind Lewis and saw Chris standing a few feet away. Of course, I didn't know it was Chris at the time. He was holding a video camera and talking on a cell phone. "When Lewis saw Chris, he pulled out of me and started walking toward Chris. I got to my feet and hopped after Lewis as best I could. I threw myself at Lewis's back, knocking him down. Chris yelled at me to move, so I rolled away. I assume Chris hit Lewis, because when I turned to look, Lewis was on the ground with Chris standin over him holding a tire iron. "After that, Chris walked over to me and freed my hands and feet, then helped me get myself together. By this time, Lewis started to get up. Chris picked up the tire iron again and kept Lewis where he was. That's when the police cars showed up." "Thank you, Brent. I can't imagine what you've been through, but with your testimony, Lewis will be locked up for quite a long time." The officer then turned to Chris. "Would you like to give your statement while we are here?" Chris nodded while the officer removed the tape from the machine, labeled it, and set it to the side. Then he picked up another tape and placed it in the machine, turning it on. He waited a few moments, then began. "Let the record show that this interview is in reference to RAP3BM14-1-2. For the record, please state your full name." "My name is Christopher Thomas McDaniel." "Could you please explain how you are involved?" "For one, the victim is my boyfriend. For another, the criminal is my mother's brother." "So he is your uncle?" "If he has to be." The officer smiled. He motioned for Chris to continue. I gave Chris's hand a reassuring squeeze. "As Brent had earlier stated, we were chatting online last night. I liked him right away, so decided to take a chance. I asked him if he'd like to come and meet me after school, and he agreed. We planned it all out, and I couldn't wait. "At school the next morning, I was told that the video club was having a meeting after school. I called my uncle and explained the situation. He offered to meet Brent at Cuppa and then come and get me. I agreed, and didn't think anything more about it. "After the meeting, I ran outside, expecting to see my uncle's car. I didn't see it, and it took me a few moments to realize what probably had happened. See, this isn't the first time Uncle Lewis has done this." The officer looked surprised, but didn't say anything. He motioned for Chris to continue. Chris took a deep breath. "Anyway, when I didn't see Uncle Lewis's car, I ran back inside the school, found the teacher in charge of the video club, and asked to borrow a video camera. I told him that it was for a project, and he agreed. He even drove me out to the woods. "I had Mr. Parker drop me off at the entrance to Hunter Woods, and I ran down the path. I checked one more time to make sure the battery on the camera was fully charged and the tape ready to go. As I rounded a bend, I saw Uncle Lewis's car. "Just as I got to the car, I heard an awful scream. I turned on the camera and walked around the car. Keeping the camera on Uncle Lewis, I called 911. When Uncle Lewis started walking toward me, I set the camera on the hood of the car, facing him, and pulled the tire iron out of the back seat. "When I looked back at Uncle Lewis, he was on the ground with Brent on top of him. I yelled at Brent to move, and I whacked Uncle Lewis over the head. I thought about killing him right then and there, but I went to help Brent instead. "After Brent was back together, I heard Uncle Lewis moving. I turned and grabbed the tire iron again. I told him that if he moved, he would be dead. That's when the cops showed up." The officer stopped the tape recorder, pulled out the tape, and labeled it. Setting it with the first one, he looked at us. "I am deeply sorry that this has happened. We will need your addresses and phone numbers. When Lewis's case comes to court, we will need you both to testify. Can you do that?" Chris and I nodded. The officer stood up, then looked at me. I can't be sure, but I think he was starting to cry. I was certain of it when he spoke again. "We will need to contact your parents, then take you to the hospital to be checked out." "Ok. When will the court date be?" "I can't say. Hopefully, it will be soon, though." With that, the officer led us back to the waiting room. I saw mom paceing the floor and ran up to her. We hugged each other and cried. After a moment, we parted and looked at each other. "Where's dad?" Mom looked away. "He couldn't make it," she whispered. There you go. Another chapter said and done. Thanks to those who have kept with me this far. I know there hasn't been any sex yet, but it's coming, I promise. No pun intended. ;) Questions? Comments? Newbie2k79@yahoo.com
