In case that you are new here for the first time, let me go over the rules: If you are underage, live in a place where it is unlawful to read this story, or are just offended by the notion of two young adult women in love with each other, then do us a favor and please leave. Any questions? If not, then let's begin, shall we? ROMY, JULIE, AND DIANE- A ROMY AND JULIE CHRISTMAS by Keith It was the weekend before Christmas and Julie was stirring in her bed, sleeping blissfully in 1978. It was not too long ago that she fell in love for the first time with a girl named Romy from her high school days, starting up a relationship that would take off in an exciting new direction. Julie continued her slumber, all snug in her bed until.... "Julie, honey, it's time to get up." Jane, her mother had come into her room to wake her up as she kissed her daughter on her forehead. "Wh...what time is it?", Julie said dreamily as she slowly awakened herself to find her own mother laying on her bed next to and behind her. "It's almost ten o'clock. You promised you take your sister to see Santa Claus at the mall today, remember?" "Oh, really?" "Yes, really. Your and father and I will be at the table as soon as you shower and dress." "Where's the little rodent?", Julie asked her mother jokingly. "She's in the front room watching that new Popeye show on CBS. Anything else?" Julie sat up in her bed under the covers for she was completely naked and stared inquiringly at her mother. "Mom, are you and Daddy mad at me for telling you that I'm in love with a girl my age?" "Oh for Heaven's Sake, young lady, why say that?" "Because I feel real guilty about not telling the both of you and I feared you'd stop loving me as your oldest child." "Oh honey, it's not that at all. Your father and I love you and your sister very much." Jane Spencer reached over to her daughter and hugged her tightly and as lovingly as any mother would do for her own child. "Maybe it's time that you told your little sister about your love interest, isn't that right?" There was silence for a lengthy moment, until........ "Well, I guess you're right, Mom. It's time that I told her my little secret with you both there to guide me. Give me a chance to shower and dress and I'll meet you and Daddy at the table." Jane Spencer left her daughter and walked towards the kitchen leaving her daughter to arise from her bed. It was a little while later when Julie found her father, Jason, reading the Saturday edition of the L.A. Times at the table sipping his coffee with Jane sitting across from him. "It's about time you awoke from your nightly slumber, young miss", her father said to her as he looked up to her with his reading glasses on his face. A newly showered, cleaned-up, and dressed Julie Anne Spencer wore a light grey heather Bugs Bunny for President t-shirt over a fading pair of Levi's 501 button fly jeans and a pair of navy blue Van's deck sneakers on her feet. "I see that our daughter is dressing differently ever since she graduated from Redondo High", Jason said to his wife admiringly. "You're right, Jason. She's earned the right to. Let's just say it's time to put away the dresses we made her wear so that Jennifer can wear them when she goes to high school." "Thanks, Mom. Besides, what time should I call Romy to pick us up from here?" "Around later this afternoon, besides that, don't you think you should tell your sister about your little secret?" "You're right as usual, Mom." "Jennifer, could you please come into the kitchen for a minute? Your sister has something she wants to tell you." It wasn't long before a younger teen girl entered. Still dressed in her white night gown, Jennifer was 14 going on 15 as of the next week. Like her sister, she was raised fairly strict. Her parents forbade Julie to go to the senior prom out of safety and concern for her welfare, and they were right. Still, the young teen girl named Jennifer stood before the three of them as they sat at the table. The atmosphere was quiet until........... "Jennifer, I have something I need to tell you." "What is it, Sis?", Jennifer asked innocently of her older sister. "Jennifer, I'm seeing a woman my age and her name is Romy Woodward. You don't have to accept it if you don't want to. I'm not going to ask you to." All of a sudden, Jennifer's suspicions were proven correct. It was no wonder why Mom and Dad would not let Julie date boys or dress in the latest clothes. "See, I always knew you were different from the rest of the older girls, you know. Anyhow, you told Mom and Dad?" "Yes, I have, Jennifer. Besides, it was time you found out.....sooner or later. Now get yourself cleaned up and dressed while I help Mom and Daddy take care of some business they have and we'll go, okay?" "Sure, why not?" The 14 going on 15-year old girl quickly went down the hall to get ready to go to the mall to see Santa Claus with her older sister with a smile upon her face. "Guess I should call Romy now, shouldn't I?", Julie said to her folks as she walked over to the phone to call her ladylove. It was almost 4:30 in the afternoon as the sun was setting in the west towards the oceanic horizon when the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Jane exclaimed as she walked over to the door to answer it. Jane opened the door to the sight of her daughter's girlfriend, Romy. "Hi, Mrs. Spencer. Are Jule and Jen ready to go? We have to meet someone at the mall by 5." "Who's the person, Romaine?" "Just an acquaintance from school days, that's all?" Now Romy was impeccably dressed. The red tropical print camp blouse and brand spanking new Jordache designer jeans complimented every curve and angle of her figure under a grey tweed sports coat and her trademark brown leather ankle boots. Her long strawberry blonde hair was tied back in a half up do. It was not much longer until the siblings came out of their rooms to greet the gentlewoman caller. Julie still had on that Bugs Bunny for President t-shirt and fading jeans on under her father's old varsity letterman's jacket she was allowed to keep as a graduation from high school last year. Now Jennifer had on a cream colored RAF cowl-necked ribbed sweater under a pair of lavender coloured overalls as she walked towards her sister's sweetheart. "You must be Romy," she greeted the strawberry blonde stranger curiously as Romy knelt courteously before the young girl and kissed her hand gently. "You must be Jen, aren't you?", Romy asked the girl as she kissed her hand again before she got herself up back up onher feet. "I see your sister has told you about me, Jen. I never thought you'd be a part of her family. Anyway, ladies shall we go to the mall then?" "Of course, let's go", Julie said to her lovergirl as she turned to her mother to wave good-bye. "Now you three have fun and be careful out there. It's cold out tonight", Jane said to the three girls. "Don't you worry your pretty feathered haired head, Mrs. Spencer. They'll both be safe with me. I promise." Romy, Julie, and Jennifer walked out the door and to the TransAm to get in as they sped off to points unknown. TO BE CONTINUED Let me know what you think of this latest edition of Romy and Julie. So until then, bye for now.
