Almost on cue, they both sighed audibly and then broke out in a spasm of giggles at the coincidence. "Right, my birthday. On the 13th. With my sixth grade education, that would be in about 12 days, since today is the first. Unless of course having mind-blowing sex with you has completely rotted my brain," laughed Ariana. Suzanne laughed too and said, "Got it. And by the way, it has been mind-blowing sex and my brain is complete mush at this point." She slowly got up from the floor, together with Ariana, giving her a hug and a couple of pecks on the lips. "Hungry?" she asked. "Yes, I'm starving," cried Ariana. "I'm famished," added Suzanne. "Do you think we could take a break from sex for a few minutes and eat?" "Ha, ha, maybe! But back to the birthday," insisted Ariana. "Well, when we started fooling around last week you were, and still are, fifteen. Dear, I feel that we've really found happiness together but we need to be careful. You're still under the age of consent for the next two weeks. "What do you mean?" asked Ariana. Suzanne was checking the lasagna and garlic bread. As she served dinner she turned toward Ariana, and said, with an air of gravity: "I mean that, legally, what we've been doing could get me in trouble. You're really fifteen going on twenty...you're more mature in many ways than my last girlfriend- who is twenty-four and may she rest in peace- but the courts don't care about that. Can we agree that for now we will absolutely not talk about this with anyone?" asked Suzanne. "O silly, stop worrying- we'll be fine," replied Ariana. "And, yes I agree. This just feels so good right now. Whether I'm fifteen or eighteen it's no one's business. The last thing on this earth that I want to have happen is for either of us to get in trouble. And anyways, my friends and my family would not understand how much you mean to me." She moved coyly toward her lover, head bowed in puppy dog fashion. "Are we OK?" she asked. Suzanne said "Yeah, OK. My God! What am I going to do with you?" She enveloped Ariana in a warm embrace. While they swayed to and fro in the middle of the kitchen, Suzanne sang a few bars quietly to an oldie, "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," and looked then Ariana in the face. "I think I'm falling for you, lover," she said. "How do you feel about that?" "O wow! Little old me? Hee hee." Ariana cooed. "It's kinda scary to be honest. Nothing to do with the legal stuff just; I feel like I could be getting in over my head, like I don't know what I'm doing. But...but," Ariana stared into Suzanne's eyes and started to weep, burying her head in Suzanne's breast. Suzanne held her while she leaned back into the kitchen wall. She put her chin on Ariana's head while she hummed the tune. As tears of joy fell to the floor the normally irrepressible Ariana sighed deeply. Then once again she started to laugh. "Well, I'm head over heels for you if you must know, Mizz Stewart," She giggled through her tears. "You had me from the first arpeggio." "How about we eat before we faint?" Suzanne suggested. She had put on her panties and bra and microwaved the lasagna. "Yes, ma'am. I could eat a horse," chuckled Ariana, as she sat down next to Suzanne, wrapping herself in the comforter once again. She grabbed her phone and texted her mother, letting her know she'd be home by 8:00. As they ate they chatted like besties who hadn't seen each other for a few weeks, catching up on all their gossip and stories. "Open wide and say `Ah'," said Suzanne. She stabbed a small chunk of lasagna and fed it to Ariana, who batted her eyelashes playfully. "Yes Doctor," smirked Ariana. Suzanne playfully elbowed her, "Silly." "I guess this is where I say I'm confused," Ariana laughed. "I mean I don't really give a shit if I'm officially or unofficially a Lesbian. I know who and what I like- and I like you. And my God, there is no comparison between playing around with a boy and being with a wild woman like you." "Wild woman, really?" asked Suzanne. "Well, I've been called worse. I know what you mean, I think. Kind of a compliment really, especially for a nerdy one like moi." "But seriously, does it matter?" continued Suzanne. "I mean I identify as Lesbian and I'm kind of active in the community. But there are many girls who are definitely Lesbian who I guess are in the closet or just not really OUT there much. Their circumstances and insecurities are holding them back but it's really nobody's business, if you know what I mean." "Yeah I think I do," suggested Ariana. "But, do I need to come out? I mean I just don't see myself going back to guys, yuck. But if I come out I think it will be like a bomb going off at school, let alone at home." "No sweetie, take your time," said Suzanne. "The thing is, though, you have to know that when you're not dating guys people will start to talk. Are you ready for that?" "I think so," responded Ariana. "Can you give me some good ideas about what to say in those situations? But more than anything, I'm just dying to know: when did you know? And, do you play for the other side too or are you Lezzie all the way? "Whoa, Lezzie now huh? Oh you crude little straight girl", cried Suzanne. "I'm not a straight girl anymore," said Ariana. "In case you haven't noticed darling." "Noticed? Fuck, you've occupied my soul, damn you," chuckled Suzanne. "If you must know, I'm a purebred Lesbian Ariana, although it wasn't always that way."
