"Raegan Kirkpatrick?" I asked.

"Ann Coulter's number one fan," she said. But I didn't laugh, mostly cause I was in shock. "OK."

"Did you make it to California OK?" I asked as I leaned back against some of the boxes as the numb wore off. Replaced by a fit of worry about Mickie coming back in and catching me.

"Yes," she said flatly.

"Your Dad happy to see you?"

"Kind of," she said. "He was at first, but not so much now."

"Why?"

"It's just stuff that happened and he's not happy at all," she said, which worried me.

"What happened?"

"An accident," she said. "One that's gonna be with me forever, one way or the other."

"Are you OK?" I asked.

"Dad, shut up," Raegan said as some man started bitching in the background.

"If she wanted to talk to you she'd call you," he said.

"Look, Clarence, I'll call anybody I want as long as I'm paying my own cell bill," Raegan said as a smile formed on my face. I was still wondering what kind of an 'accident' she'd had. "So go the fuck back in the living room and let me phone bone with my girlfriend."

"Ohmigod," I said in a giggle. I heard a door slam.

"Bastard," Raegan said. "Let me guess, you're laughing?"

"Yes, of course," I said as she laughed.

"So, I just wanted to hear your voice..." she said as my heart beat faster for a moment. "Hold on..."

"OK!"

"TURN THE FUCKIN TV DOWN!" Raegan screamed right before the phone went dead. I looked at the phone and felt my frustration set in. She just called to hear my voice? But you left because you said I should be with Mickie? Why don't you make up your mind you dumb bitch. I was just about to trash my cell phone when one thing stopped me. Mickie bouncing back into the storage unit with a huge grin and three pops in each arm.

"Look what I got for fifty cents," Mickie said as she sat them down on the boxes and grinned at me.

"Do you know I love you?" I asked as she smiled brightly as I slipped my arms around her neck and kissed her. But she knew something was wrong.

"What's wrong?" She asked a moment later. "Something's not right."

"How could know that?"

"I love you, I know when you're hurting," Mickie said in a matter-of-fact style. "I do something?"

"Raegan called me and said she just wanted to hear my voice and then the phone went dead," I said as the smile left Mickie's face. "It just pissed me off."

"Because she didn't talk more?"

"No, because she even called," I said. "I'm not even gonna answer the phone next time."

"And what if it's me calling?" Mickie asked with hands on hips. "Huh Taylor?"

"I meant... shut up," I said as she smiled. She swept me into her arms and kissed me. "MMMMMMMM."

"You just don't know how much I adore you," Mickie said in a whisper as I pushed a stray hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. "I do."

"And I chose you because of that," I said as she smiled. "It just got so messed up..."

"Shhhhhhhh," Mickie said. "Doesn't matter now. Everything is back to the way it should be. Just like Laney said, you're supposed to be with me."

"Duh!" I said as she giggled and we kissed softly and perfectly. Her lips moving against mine a few times and then stopping as she held it for a long moment and melted my brain into Mickie goo. "OH WOW, good kiss, I'm Mickie goo now."

"Huh?"

"When you kiss me like that..." I said as I caressed her cheek and stroked my fingers through her long curly black hair. "... you make my brain melt into Mickie goo."

"Huh? I better stop doing that then..." she said as I glared at her and she slowly backed away with a huge grin on her face. "...that sounds painful."

"No it's not," I said as she giggled and backed away to the front of the unit and stopped as she bumped into her car, a playful smile on her face as I started poking at her tickle spots. She held her hands up to protect herself but it did no good as I poked her anyway as she squealed. "You think you're funny now?"

"Noooo," she said in a giggle as I finally stopped and she relaxed for a moment. "I like Mickie goo."

"MMMMMMM Mickie goo," I said as we both giggled. "Let's get these boxes in so we can go eat?"

"Can I help?" Mickie asked and giggled when I groaned, rolled my eyes, and walked off to get the keys from the car. "What?"

"Nothing today either," Jessie said as she checked the mail. Referring to the NEW birth certificate she'd ordered a few days ago from the Douglas County Health Department in Omaha. "I don't think it's ever gonna come."

"It will, cuz, it will," I said as I hugged her. "I love you, anyway."

"Enough to let me have Taylor for a night?" Jessie asked with a horny smile.

"I get Laney if you do," I said, both of us laughing a moment later.

This was a couple of hours after the whole "Mickie goo" convo, me and Jessie having just gotten back from Taylor's house. Jessie checked the mail on the way into the house. Not seeing Mom (Laila) or Dad (Michael) we headed on upstairs to find that Alex was still hard at work on the new staircase leading to the attic. Ryan seemingly nowhere to be found.

"Evening ladies," Alex said with a smile.

"Hey," Jessie and I said in unison.

"Hi," Ryan said as he emerged from the attic and jogged down the steps. Tool belt in place. "I think we're about finished. You think your Dad will like it?"

"He's gonna love that," I said. Jessie nodding her agreement. "But why did he want an entire staircase built just to move those sofas?"

"One of you is getting a new bedroomm" Ryan said. Alex groaned and Ryan realized he'd let one slip.

"That was supposed to be a secret," Alex hissed.

"Well it's not now, what do you know?" I asked as Alex gave Ryan a dirty look.

"He's giving one of you a new bedroom," Alex said. "Maybe both. The place is plenty big enough for two. And he mentioned putting in a bathroom."

"I'll take it," Jessie said quickly. "Firsties."

"I don't think so, Cuz, I have squatters rights," I said as Jessie gave me a dirty look.

"Well... your girlfriend wants me," Jessie said defiantly.

"Cause you're easy," I said as Ryan and Alex laughed. Jessie giving me a dirty look before she started to giggle.

"Not funny," Jessie said as I smiled. "Why do you even need a new bedroom?"

"Beats me, I don't really wanna move," I said as Jessie grinned and bounced over to beside me.

"He didn't say why," Alex said. "Thankfully."

"Hey!" Ryan said as Alex grinned. The cracking of the steps signaling that someone was on their way up. "OK, I got a big mouth. But I don't let everything slip out."

"Well, gentlemen, I am very pleased," Dad (Michael) said as he came to the top of the steps. Drawing all attention to himself. "That is fine craftsmanship."

"They did a good job," Jessie said.

"Thank you, sir," Alex commented. "A couple of coats of white paint and the carpet we found and we'll be in fine shape."

"Carpet?"

"Oh yeah," Ryan said as he ran behind the steps and brought out a huge roll of carpet and flopped it on the floor. "We found some that matches perfectly. Stroke of luck."

"I'll say," Dad commented. "Can you guys put that in?"

"As soon as we're done with the painting," Alex said.

"Fine job, fine job," Dad said. "Come down when you're done and we'll talk about your pay."

"Yes, sir," Alex said as Dad walked off. Stopping and turning he said, "Oh yes, some letter came for you today, Jessie, it's on your desk."

"OH boy!" Jessie said as she watched Dad disappear back down the steps before she took my hand and pulled me along as we disappeared into her room. Clothes flung all over the floor. A cyclone indeed. I closed the door as Jessie picked up the manila folder and looked at it nervously. I joined her as she looked at me with panic in her eyes. "What if..."

"Just open it," I said. "I love you, and no matter what that says you'll always be family to me."

"I love you too," She said as I smiled. Taking another deep breath, she opened the envelope, pulled it out of the folder and tensed as she saw what she already knew was there. "See, Children's Memorial Hospital, father, Kenneth Sellers, mother Amelia Sellers. Now known as Amy James."

"This confirms it I guess," I commented as I hugged Jessie. "We've got a mystery now."

"Maybe not," Jessie said as she grinned. "What if my Mom had me here?"

"Yeah?"

"She could have had me here cause I know my dad, Ray, went to school here," Jessie said as I gave her a puzzled look. "He did, I saw his old high school yearbook."

"So they met here?" I asked.

"Maybe Mom met this Sellers guy here too and had me?" Jessie asked. "And then she met my Dad and they got married and moved to Omaha? It's possible, right?"

"Very much so," I said as she smiled. "Would explain why you had two birth certificates."

"It would?"

"Yeah, cause the one we found in the attic was ripped in half, maybe it was lost?" I asked. "And when they got settled in Omaha they just had a new one issued for the same day? I think you could do that."

"Mystery solved?" Jessie asked as she grinned and I hugged her.

"Seems like it," I said. "You still gonna ask about it?"

"Why not, I bet it's a great story," Jessie said. A calm seemingly coming over her now.

"Wanna go now?" I asked. "Dad's downstairs."

"Sure," Jessie said. "Then after... what do you say to a girls' night, cousin style?"

"OK," I said as she stuffed the NEW birth certificate into the drawer along with her OLD one. Both inside the same folder now.

"Your Dad said your Mom had some kind of a stomach ailment and they'd be back late, went to the clinic, I think," Alex said as we came out of the bedroom. "Everything OK?"

"Everything is great right now," Jessie said as she hugged my arm and smiled at the guys. "You two wanna join us for a girls' night of movies and ice cream?"

"Well, girlfriend I'd just love that," Alex said in a feminine voice. Me and Jessie laughed.

"I can do without the chick flicks," Ryan commented. "But we're about done here, so you can Alex."

"You don't mind?" Alex asked.

"Got homework anyway," Ryan said. "Have fun."

"We're gonna make a run to the video store and get ice cream," I said. "Be back in a hour or so, wait, no one else is home, we can't."

"Go on, we'll hold down the fort, Michael trusted us here all day," Alex said.

"Back in a few then!" I said as Jessie and I went thundering down the steps and moments later drove off. The mystery though... wasn't quiet as "solved" as we'd hoped.

"Where did you get that at?" I asked Laney as she came to the top of the stairs. I had just come out of the bathroom from my shower when Laney came up the steps and showed me my cell phone with a smirk.

"You left it on the front table," she said. "Had your tongue so far down Mickie's..."

"I'll beat you if you finish that sentence," I said as she grinned knowingly and handed me my cell. "Thank you."

"What did Raegan want?" Laney asked, very pointedly. "Yes, I snooped."

"Nosey," I said.

"I have that right," she fired back. "I'm your best friend. You wanna see my cell and see who I called?"

"Nooo," I said quietly. Hoping she'd drop it as I walked off into my bedroom. She followed.

"What did she want?" Laney asked again.

"She wanted to hear my voice," I finally spat without looking. "And Mickie knows about it."

"For real?"

"Yeah, she was there when Raegan called, well, she was out getting a soda," I said. "But I did tell her."

"So why is Raegan still calling you if she left so you could be with Mickie?"

"I don't know," I admitted. "I just hope she doesn't call back."

"You sure about that?"

"About as sure as I am about anything," I said. "She's out of sight, out of mind. Thankfully. And with that troublemaking Marty gone, things are good between me and Mickie."

"I agree," Laney said as she hugged me warmly. Then said/asked, "I heard from Lynsey that Marty was in rehab?"

"Heard the same rumor around school," I replied. "She also ripped off Mavis."

"She better hope I don't see her again," Laney said.

"Oh yeah, what you gonna do?" I asked as I poked her tickle spot and she laughed and jumped away.

"Stop!" Laney said as I grinned and followed her into the hallway as she backed away. The thumping of feet coming up the steps drawing our attention. Me wondering, briefly, who would be running up our steps. To my surprise, it was Dad (Richard). Me and Laney saying in unison, "Dad?"

"Girls," he said as he stopped in front of us. "What?"

"You were running up the steps," Laney commented. Me following with, "You haven't run in years."

"Got more energy these days," he said. "Those salads Carolyn has got me on must be helping. Dropping some weight too."

"Carolyn has got you on?" I asked. "Since when does the maid control your diet?"

"She made some suggestions..."

"...and demands..." I said.

"That too," Dad confirmed as I laughed. "And after a couple of them you get used to it. I actually bought one for lunch today."

"Hi, I'm Taylor Raynewater and who the hell are you?" I asked as I held my hand out. Laney giggling as she hugged me from behind. Dad giving us both a 'knock it off' look.

"Look, daughter of mine, and... new daughter..." Dad said as Laney and I both smiled. "I am simply taking stock in my life since the end of... my marriage to Viera. It's just, I felt I needed to make some changes and this is the start."

"You're not like gonna... join a cult or something are you?" I asked as Dad grinned.

"Nooo, but I think being a bit more health conscious is a good thing," he commented. "Don't mean you two have to do it, but I'm planning to."

"Good, means you'll be around longer," I said and hugged him, giggling as Laney crashed into both me and Dad and hugged us both.

"The family that hugs together stays together!"

"Huh?" I asked and looking to see Carolyn grinning at us from the top of the steps. Dressed to kill in a dress that made me... horny. She looked smokin. "What are you so dressed up for?"

"Your father is taking me to a big business meeting he has and I intend to impress those stuck up snobs," Carolyn said.

"Already going on a date huh, Dad?" Laney asked as Dad blushed.

"It is not a date per se," Dad corrected us. "We're having a business dinner and Carolyn was nice enough to volunteer to escort me. It's nothing more than her doing me a favor and me giving her a night out that she's probably never had before."

"You'd be surprised Richard," Carolyn said. "I can handle myself with people of the upper crust. Rich fucks are all the same."

"Well, I'm off to get dressed," Dad said. Walking off a moment later.

"Hurry," Carolyn said. A knocking at the door downstairs drew Laney's attention and she headed down to answer it. Carolyn looked to make sure the coast was clear when she stepped closer and asked, "You heard from Raegan?"

"Yeah, how did you know?" I asked in shock.

"You left your cell phone on the table..."

"You nosey..."

"Don't want people to snoop at it then don't leave it lying around," Carolyn said. I knew she had a point but it still pissed me off that she had done me that way, "I did it for another reason anyway."

"Why, you're a bitch?" I asked.

"Don't call me a bitch again," she demanded with a finger point.

"You snoop on my cell phone and you don't think I should be mad?" I asked. "You're not my Mom, and you never will be."

"And you miss attitude were cruising for a disaster if you'd kept screwing around with my daughter," Carolyn said.

"Huh?"

"I've seen how happy you are with Mickie," she said as my anger faded. "Raegan couldn't resist you, the same way she did with her ex, Bruce... Pickford? I don't know his name. He was a loser."

"So?"

"Take it from someone who's had a lot of experience," she said. "If you give up what you got with Mickie for a fling with Raegan you'll never forgive yourself. Raegan... Raegan's a wild seed. She never stays in one place long. I'm surprised she stayed in Cleveland with me this long."

"You have no idea how into Raegan I was..."

"And it doesn't matter," Carolyn said. "Mickie loves you and Raegan was not right for you."

"Maybe..."

"So go on and try and prove me wrong and call Raegan back," she said pointedly. "And when you fall in love with her and realize she's a wild child who never stays put for long, you'll see why I snooped on your phone."

"I love Mickie, not Raegan," I said. It just then dawned on me that Carolyn may have actually done me somewhat of a favor by watching out for me. "You're just watching out for me?"

"Yeah I was," she said. A smirk grew on her face as she went on, "And you called me a bitch for my efforts you little whore."

"I am not a whore," I said as she giggled. "It's not funny."

"Raegan has a really big mouth you know?" Carolyn asked in a whisper.

"She told you..."

"About what you did with..." Carolyn said in a whisper and then into my ear, "...two other girls while Mickie watched?"

"So... I am the whore?" I asked as we both laughed.

"Typical horny teenager," Carolyn said. "Wish I'd had that opportunity at your age."

"Lesbian," I said in shock as she laughed.

"Just between us?" she asked.

"Please?" I asked. "I'm gonna kill your daughter."

"I think she's hurting enough right now," Carolyn said. "What did she say when she called?"

"She had some kind of accident," I said. "But she was arguing with some guy named Clarence..."

"My ex-boyfriend," Carolyn said. "Go on."

"That was pretty much it," I said.

"Accident huh?"

"Couldn't be anything serious," I reasoned. "She sounded fine."

"Yeah, I can only imagine what the little bad seed got into this time," Carolyn said. "Preggo wouldn't shock me."

"You had Raegan young didn't you?" I asked. "Cause you're what, thirty five?"

"Thirty four, look twenty five and wish I sixteen again," she said with a 'gotcha' smile. "Maybe then we could hook up."

"Very funny," I said as she gave me a knowing smile.

"I was fifteen when I had Raegan," Carolyn said. "And it was the biggest mistake of my life. I love her with all my heart, but Raegan was born too early."

"Not that you asked, but Mickie already knows I talked to her, Raegan."

"Good, you're being honest with her," Carolyn said as she did something then that made me smile, why I don't know, but it did, simply by tucking my hair behind my ear. A Mom move if there ever was one. "She deserves someone who is true to her. Not someone with a torn heart."

"Good thing," I said. "Cause I don't have one."

"Well, how do I look?" Dad asked as he came out of the bedroom in a suit I know I'd never seen him in before. He looked great. Something Laney recognized as she arrived back at the top of the steps with a package in her hand and whistled as she saw Dad.

"You look great," Laney said as Dad smiled. He quickly kissed both of our foreheads and soon enough he and Carolyn disappeared down the steps and were headed off to their big dinner.

"What's in the package?" I asked as Laney grinned knowingly and pulled me by the arm into my bedroom and closed the door before she said, "Lube, to be exact, O'My Cherry Flavored Lube."

"Lube?" I asked in a TRUE moment of blissful retardation.

"Anal?" Laney asked as I blushed. "We talked about it, or have you forgot that too?"

"You're gonna use that on Jessie?" I asked, purposely avoiding her last question.

"UH huh," Laney said with a horny smile. "Ordered it for that specific purpose."

"What about doing it while someone watches?" I asked.

"Who? You?"

"Maria and Lynsey might wanna do an orgy," I said as Laney showed her surprise. "Jessie certainly seemed interested."

"They ask her?"

"Nooo," I said. "Me and Jessie were just talking and she said the idea made her hot. Really hot."

"She hasn't told me that," Laney said. "You sure?"

"Yep," I said. "Why you thinking about calling Maria now?"

"Why would I wanna let her fuck my girlfriend, which she'll wanna do," Laney asked.

"Because she can teach you how to use that new cock you bought," I said as Laney smiled, seeming to warm to the idea. I decided to go for the hormone approach as I leaned in and whispered in her ear, "And what better way to give Jessie her first butt fucking than in front of two or three other girls."

"Grandpa always said I was a natural born performer," Laney said as we smiled at each other. "But I don't know if I can do that."

"You have no idea how big a turn on it is to be watched," I said. "I know you think I'm a whore for liking it, but it's a whole other level of erotic."

"I told you once my girl, I don't think that," she said and hugged me. "I'm sorry for making you feel that way."

"No biggie," I said as she grinned. "Besides, it does have it's benefits."

"Oh yeah," Laney agreed as we laughed and hugged again.
