Disclaimer This poem removes a piece of art from exhibition for no better reason than its maker turning out to be no saint. But who can say (s)he is? As a result some of the (strictly fictional) action may be perceived as illegal, or even as offensive. But look at the bright side; there is no self-censorship applied. Which, as some overzealous museum manager should have realized, is nothing but a comfortable degree of institutional censorship. In My Expert Opinion Great! it's porn now, what I called Art before, Revered it was, what I now do judge as base: A nymph shown in her State of Grace. How did the world it all adore. A heinous crime is reflected in her face, Malice defines her enchanting shape, So much for Beauty, Eden, Art, Escape. Take her down! I rest my case. Under this shadow of perceived rape, All innocence must suffer her abuse, Remember still, you were my muse: Too wonderful to fit red tape. O, why must such exciting beauty fuse Venomous slander and infernal hate? Enough! I'll spill no tears on your bad fate. Not when still there to amuse: Delight me again, as you have done of late, Entrance my sense and all. I am afraid No law does rule the Human State.
