It is a story that does contain sexual acts between two females. If this offends you then don't read it. If you are not 18, or whatever the age maybe where you're from, then please don't read it. If you just don't like the idea of love between two ladies, go somewhere else. Don't read it. The characters are not real. Any similarities are just that. I had a request from a dear friend to post this additional chapter. So here it is. I hope you have enjoyed reading this story as much as I have loved sharing it with you. Support your authors and as always, enjoy. Amanda upside_umop_insideout Happily ever after "What if I don't want to say good-bye?" Emily asked after Alex had walked away. "Then we won't. We will just say," Sarah hesitated as she thought. "Until next time." "I can do that." Emily said with a smile as she leaned in to hug her sister. "I love you sis." "I love you too. You guys take care." "We will and you do the same." "Until next time." "Until next time." Emily repeated. Alexis snuck back up to the house with the pretense of one last good bye. Checking over her shoulder she jogged as she ran to catch Sarah before she could get back into the house. "Sarah, hold on a sec." Sarah turned around somewhat shocked. "Sure, what's up? Did you forget something?" Alexis looked down bashfully. "Not really." Sarah reached out and put her hand on Alex's shoulder. "We've been through a lot but you should still know that you can say whatever you need to." Alexis nodded and shakily reached into her pocket and pulled out a small black box. Sarah chuckled as Alexis flipped it open to reveal a beautiful pink diamond. "Well as much as I am flattered I don't think it would be fair to my sister or my husband." Alexis' worried frown finally broke into a smile. "So you're finally going to make an honest woman out of my sister?" "With your permission, I want to ask Emily to marry me. I think it's time. I've loved your sister more than..." Sarah lifted her hand and motioned for Alexis to stop. "Sweetie, I've already thought of you as a sister for a long time. And I've missed you just as much as I've missed my blood sister. Of course you have my permission," Sarah said softly, "as long as I am in the wedding party that is." Sarah added with a laugh. "Of course." Alexis looked down shyly. It was strange feeling so nervous. After all the years that Emily and she had been together, she still fretted over Emily's answer. "She'll say yes." Sarah reassured her, knowing exactly what she was thinking. "Now you better get before she comes to find you. Let me know when..." Sarah said as she pulled Alex into a hug. "I'll miss you both." Alexis pulled away and put the box back into her pocket as she silently walked away. °°°°°°°°°° "I can't believe that you are going to be a professor." Emily gushed. "God, that came out wrong. Of course you are smart enough. And you've had enough schooling. And god, listen to me just rambling on, I'm just so proud of you." Emily said as she hugged Alex close to her. Alexis stepped back and smiled. "Watch it now. One of my students might see you and get the wrong idea." Alexis smiled at the woman who she had fallen in love with just a few class rooms away. "Thank you, love, really." She said with more seriousness. "Why don't we take a walk? Go take a stroll down memory lane." Alexis tried to make her voice sound more confident than she felt. Emily took her hand into her own as they turned and walked from the cozy office. "Are you ok, nervous about teaching your first class?" Emily asked motioning to Alex's sweaty palms. "Yeah, I guess I am." The two fell into a comfortable silence as they walked across the open campus lawn. "Not much has changed here. It's kind of nice." Emily said, leaning her head onto Alex's shoulder. "It is isn't it? That building over there is where I first laid eyes on you. I think I have loved you from that very moment." Emily smiled at the memory that brought a warmth to her chest. It was undeniable that she loved this woman with all of her heart. "Where are we heading?" "You'll see." Alexis said with a knowing smile. "Why does it feel like you are up to something?" "Cause maybe I am, nosey Nancy." "You know I can't help but be nosey. It's why you love me." "That's only a small part, dear, a very small part." Alex said as she leaned over and kissed Emily on the forehead and steered them between two buildings. Emily lifted her head of Alexis' shoulder and smiled. "I remember this place." She laughed to herself. "This was where I had that crazy breakdown. This is where you took me into your arms and basically called me insane!" Emily looked around the meditation garden. Not much had changed here either, but the ones that had occurred were for the best. The tree that stood next to the entrance now hung over it, it's branches dipping down so low you could almost touch them. The fish still swam in the lily covered waters. They had added a small water fall and a few benches here and there. "Come sit with me my love." Alex called to her from one of those benches. "It's still so beautiful and calming here." Emily said with a long sigh as she sat down. "You are so beautiful." Alexis said softly. Emily turned her eyes from the landscape to the deep brown pools that radiated love. "Emily, I love you." "I love you too?" Emily said, confusion filling her voice. "Do you have any idea how much you mean to me?" Alexis' voice cracked and she could feel the unshed tears glistening in her eyes. Emily reached out in concern, rubbing her thumb across Alex's check. "Babe, what's going on?" Alexis slid from the bench to her knees and laid her head on Emily's lap while her tears silently fell down her cheeks. Emily whisper softly to her as she ran her fingers through her dark hair, "It's okay love. Just tell me what's going on." Emily coaxed gently. Alexis took a deep breath and sat back on her haunches, unsuccessfully swiping at the tears that refused to stop. "I've thought about this day for years. It just always seemed that there was something in the way, something stopping us. Now, the path is clear." Emily cocked her head to the side as she looked down at her love confused. "What are you going on about?" Alexis reached into her back pocket. She heard Emily gasp as she finally realized what was happening. "Emily Rae Boggs. You are the love of my life. You have given me the life I never thought I could have. I don't know where I would be, who I would be without you. You have given me the best years of my life. I don't ever want them to end. So I'm asking you... will you make me the happiest woman alive and agree to marry me." "For someone who is supposed to be an English Professor that was probably the WORST proposal in the history of proposals." Emily said as she laughed through her tears. "Of course I will."
