Dark Lover pt2. "Where are we going?" Michelle asked for the third time. "Turn left up here." Was Jasmine's only response. The vampire closed her eyes. She was reaching out with her thoughts, searching. This was why she had come to Memphis. Not the tourists, not the festival, not the music. She had come here for the same reason she went nearly anywhere. Him. The festival was nearly over and her target would be moving on, as he always did. Jasmine had been looking for eighty years for a way to get revenge for what had been done to her. At first she knew it was a fight she could not win. Vampires become stronger and more powerful with age and from the lives they take. She did not kill often, in fact nearly never but as the years passed she noticed something about her quarry, he did not seem to be gaining strength. She could sense him, when she was near and though she could not be sure she was rather confident that he could sense her as well. This might be why he moved so much or it could be that he simply did not like to stay in one place any longer than he needed too. Whatever the reason, she had spent the past fifty years chasing him. For the most part the pursuit had been fruitless. Jasmine rarely found him but she had begun to see patterns. Most importantly, her creator stayed in the United States. He always followed festivals and shows. Any where that there were large numbers of tourists and therefore homeless or otherwise easy to hide victims, he was likely to show. She had begun following festivals around the country. Most of the time she found nothing but on occasion she would come close. Never though had she been as close as she now was. He was close, very close. She could nearly see him in the night and instinctively knew where to go. "Stop." "Here?" Michelle asked. Jasmine nodded her head and the girl pulled the car to the side of the road. The vampire immediately got out and walked across the street to where a huddled mass that barely resembled a human form sat against a wall. "Found me did you?" The husky voice rose up from a face hidden by the brim of an older style gangster hat. The man sitting before Jasmine was wrapped in a dirty trench coat, keeping himself well hidden. "I'm sure you know I can feel you too." His voice was gruff, spoken with difficulty as if a single breath was labored out and the words formed around it. The vampire pushed out with her will, brushing against his. She did not want to tip her hand by invading his thoughts but she wanted him to know she had power. Her target pushed back, trying to probe her mind, trying to see what she had planned. Jasmine was able to fight him back but it was a difficult struggle she hoped that he could not gauge. "I'm going to kill you." She growled at him. Slowly, deliberately the man rose keeping his head tilted down. He let his coat fall open to reveal a dirty suit. Finally as he reached his full stature he tilted his face up and turned it to the right, revealing it from beneath the brim of his hat. A long scar tore from the top of his forehead through a blinded eye to the middle of his left cheek. He had been through something terrible. Something that could permanently scar a vampire. Something had caused him severe trauma and yet he had escaped. "I've survived far worse than you little girl." He hissed in his labored voice. It was followed by a long wheezing inhale. Looking closer Jasmine could see a deep scar across his throat. Something truly horrific had happened to this vampire and yet he was still alive. "Perhaps you will though, but not tonight." As soon as he spoke he leapt in to the air and flew off. "Fuck!" Jasmine instinctively jumped with all her strength. Her hands formed claws and she slammed them in to the brick just above a second story window of the building she had been in front of. The vampire scrambled up the side and over the edge, sprinting across the roof. She stopped at the far side, her quarry already to far out of range to follow. "He can fly?" She spat to herself. "What the hell?" Jasmine stormed back across the roof and dropped down to the street catching herself in a three point stance. She rose up and marched across the street, yanking her car door open and flopping in to the seat. She slammed the door closed and looked at Michelle. "Let go home sweetie." "He was a vampire?" Michelle sounded scared. She could not hear their conversation but seeing her mistress bolt off after him the way she had, told the girl that this meeting had been hostile. "Is he going to come after you?" The girl asked after driving nearly half way back to their shared apartment. "No. We're going after him." A shock of fear stabbed in to Michelle's heart and she felt tears suddenly welling in her eyes. Something told her that she was in a great deal of danger. She had questions, she had things she wanted to say but she didn't know where to start. They arrived at the apartment building and went inside, taking the elevator in silence. Jasmine was still seething that not only had the vampire escaped her, but he had done so by flying. He could fly and she could not and it did not make sense to her. Jasmine walked through the apartment door, closely followed by Michelle. She went to the living room and sat on the couch, closing her eyes. "I wasn't ready. I had him in my hands for the first time in fifty years and I wasn't ready." She looked over at Michelle who sat quietly on the couch. "I'm sorry Mishy. I guess I should explain." Jasmine got up and went in to the kitchen. She poured herself a glass of cola and another for Michelle. She carried them out the living room and sat down, placing them on the coffee table. "That was the vampire that made me. I've never forgiven him for it." "I thought you liked being a vampire." "No. Not really." She sipped her cola and sighed softly. "He raped me and made me a monster. I'm going to kill him for it." "He can fly." Michelle said absently. "Don't remind me please." "Where will he go from here?" "No where." Jasmine said quietly. "He's curious, I could sense it when he took off. He'll go where I go, at least for now." "And he won't come here?" "Not if he's smart." She looked at Michelle. "We're going to be going back out tomorrow to find him again. He want's me to find him and I want to know why." In the early hours of the morning, as sunrise neared, Jasmine drew Michelle in to her room. She knew that in a way what she was doing to the girl was as bad as the drugs she had saved her from. Sharing blood was addictive. But Michelle was a part of the vampire world now, and whether they remained together or not, once some one became a part of that world, it was not difficult to remain within it. An ex lover of Jasmine's would have called her a bleeder. A human that allows vampires to feed from her. They were surprisingly common. Michelle was better though. She was familiar with the sexual aspects of the vampire world and that made her more fun than a simple meal. Jasmine wondered to herself if the girl would prefer to live a mortal life or if she would come to crave eternal life. It did not matter now. What mattered now was only now, and at this moment Michelle lay before Jasmine naked and willing. The vampire climbed on to the bed. She leaned down and kissed the girl, moving down her throat, mindful to let her teeth drag along Michelle's flesh. Feeling the sharp canines of the vampire on her skin caused Michelle to shudder and writhe. She craved the blood bond. Her link with Jasmine was strong but she longed to feel the initial rush of the vampire's blood racing through her body. Jasmine covered the girl's sex with her mouth. Michelle writhed and thrashed, desperate for the sweet pain of Jasmine's teeth. It was only a moment and then flood of burning cold that some how hurt and brought ecstasy at the same time. "Jasmine." She whispered breathlessly. "Please." She begged. "Now." The vampire slid back slightly, pulling her tongue and lips from the girl's clit. Michelle's breath came faster and shorter now in anticipation of Jasmine's teeth. The girl's eyes fluttered and she pushed the back of her head hard in to the pillow groaning loudly as Jasmine pushed her fangs in to the Michelle's thigh. It washed over her, the cold, the burn, ecstasy, swirling around her, making her dizzy. She did not need Jasmine to bring her to climax to feel satisfied. This is what she had been longing for. The deadly kiss of the undead. Jasmine withdrew from the girl and returned to her sex. She manipulated Michelle until she screamed and clutched at the blankets. It was all nearly to much for her. She fainted against the bed. Jasmine, exhausted, pulled herself up to lay next to the girl. "It's a cruel love Mishy." She felt slightly guilty but not so much that she would stop. With the sunrise came the death sleep. For Jasmine time passed almost instantly. Though the day had been somewhat longer for Michelle. When the vampire came out of her room she found Michelle sitting on the couch watching television. Immediately Michelle turned the television off and turned to look at Jasmine. "What do I mean to you?" She asked. "Mishy, really dear, what do you mean?" "I think I love you Jasmine but what am I? Am I just a kid to you? Some one to fuck?" "No not at all." "A meal then?" "Of course not." Jasmine stepped around the couch and sat next to Michelle. The girl was proving to be too smart for her own good. "I love you dear, very much." It was true, but not something Jasmine wanted to think about. Michelle was mortal and that meant she would die. Unless she was turned she was little more than a waiting heartbreak. "If you do love me, I mean really, then don't go looking for that vampire again. Please. I'm afraid of what will happen if you do." "You'll be safe." Jasmine promised. "But what about you? What if her hurts you, what am I going to do then?" Michelle leaned against the vampire and sighed. "Who'll take care of me?" That struck a cord with Jasmine. Something about the girl's tone sent a sharp cold strike through Jasmine. She was right, who would take care of her. What would she do? End up little more than a blood whore? She smelled of the vampire kiss. A scent only another undead could perceive. It would draw vampires to her and Jasmine knew that it was too great a risk that the vampires she might meet would only use her and cast her aside. Revenge or love. Which is the more powerful emotion? The question asked itself of the vampire and she did not have an answer. What she knew, whether she attacked her creator or not, was that she had to see him again, she had to know why he had done what he had done. "I have to know what he wants." Jasmine finally said. Tears formed in Michelle's eyes but she nodded her head. Jasmine waited until midnight before she ushered Michelle out the the car. She took her place in the passenger seat and waited for Michelle to start the engine. "I wish you'd just take me away from here Jasmine." She said before turning the key. "I promise you Mishy, I will. When this is over I'll take you any where you want to go." Michelle looked at her for a moment before pulling out of the parking space. At the driveway of the parking lot she waited for Jasmine who pointed to the left. They drove for nearly twenty minutes before Jasmine was sure she knew where to go. She led the girl on a twisting and turning path until they were in the ghetto, parked on the side of the street. Across from them a building with a dilapidated fire escape rose four stories in to the sky. It was the alley between it and it's neighbor that had Jasmine's focus. "Stay here and lock the doors." She ordered. Jasmine got out of the car and headed for the alley. The vampire startled slightly as she kicked an empty beer can. The alley was dark, at least too mortal eyes but not to her. At the end, where the alley dead ended against a building, Jasmine saw a human form she knew to be the vampire she sought. "What do you want?" She asked. "I believe that's my line." He labored. "I know you wanted me to find you. Why?" She came closer, but not so much so that she would not have time to react if the vampire made a move against her. "You've followed me for half a century now. I thought perhaps it was time to let you find some peace." "You're ready to die?" Jasmine was blunt. "No, of course not." He approached her. The moonlight revealed his mangled form as he came closer. "I was two centuries old when I made you." He began. "You have no hope of hurting me." He stopped only a few feet away. "You remember that night well do you?" "Well enough." "Don't be so sure." He made a sound that might have been laughter but it degraded to a quiet coughing. "You had been attacked little girl. Beaten and raped. You were bleeding too death when I found you. It was too late to help you so I made a decision." "Lies." She growled. "Oh? What do you remember Jasmine? You were grabbed from behind. Cut, beaten, violated. Tell me what you saw." "I saw enough. You attacked me." She clenched her fists. "No." He removed his dirty hat. His head was mostly bald. Tufts of hair caught the moonlight around his ears and it seemed unnatural. "I am not a monster. No more than you are. When you are turned, when you die, what you see is often confused. I know, my own death haunted me for decades. As did yours. But now I offer all that I can, peace. I did the only thing I could to prevent you from passing from this world forever." He turned as if to leave. "Oh, and I killed the man that attacked you." The vampire began to walk away. "Prove it!" Jasmine shouted at him. He turned and tried to smile but the gesture seemed to pain him. "Look for yourself." "If you're so powerful you could make me see anything you want." "Indeed, but even you could detect if I am lying or not." He placed his hat back on his head. "Why now? Why didn't you tell me then?" "Because we all have bigger things to worry about now." He gestured to his face. "There are worse things than vampires in the world now." "What happened to you?" Jasmine moved toward him but the vampire held up his hand. Her tone was less angry but she herself was no less guarded. She had no sense that he was lying to her. That did little to reassure her though, as she was afraid he might be tricking her in to believing him. Jasmine wanted to attack him. Eighty years of hatred was welling up inside her but somehow it was contained by the truth of what he was saying. She searched her memory as carefully as she could. She had seen a figure in a hat and suit. She was sure it was him. He came close enough that she could make out his face when he bit her, when he mixed their blood and forced it back in to her body. Now the question began to beg itself, was it the same figure? It was all so cloudy, hazy. She only remembered his face as he leaned in to bite her. "Bad things happened. Be mindful of every shadow Jasmine. There are those that would exterminate the vampire race." There was no stopping him this time. He turned and darted in to the air. "Fuck!" Jasmine snapped. She turned and walked out of the alley, consumed with sorting out the memories of her last mortal night. When the vampire got back to the car she opened the door and sat down quietly. Michelle sensed that she was deep in thought and remained silent on the ride home. Once in the apartment the girl could not contain her questions any longer. "What happened? Is he dead?" "No." Jasmine sat on the couch and played with her dreads. "I don't know what happened." She finally said. "What do you mean?" Michelle sat down next to her, "Did he use some kind of trick on you?" "Maybe." Jasmine's forehead wrinkled as she struggled to gain a clear grip on her last night of life. She did not have time to think much before Michelle gained her full attention. The girl was kissing her neck, trying to be sexually aggressive but still too young to be good at it. Jasmine smiled. Michelle attempts were endearing. She pushed the night's encounter away and welcomed the lovely child trying to seduce her. Jasmine knew what Michelle wanted but she wouldn't get it this time. It was too soon. There was something else though. Michelle had only ever felt what it was to have a feeding vampire push blood in to her, then take some for herself. Jasmine pushed the girl down on to the couch and kissed her deeply. She let her tongue wrestle with Michelle's for a moment before leaning back and biting in to her wrist. Blood welled from the wound and she pressed it to the child's lips. Michelle hesitated at first. She was afraid, afraid that if she drank she would be a vampire but some how Jasmine's smiling eyes reassured her. The girl suckled at the vampire's wrist. She had tasted blood before, thick, warm, coppery. It always made her sick but not Jasmine's. Her blood was not metallic or salty. It was almost sweet. She had just begun to enjoy it when Jasmine pulled her wrist away. "Not too much or it'll never be enough." She said. She wriggled on the couch for a moment then dropped her panties on the floor. Cautiously she moved up the couch pulled her skirt up, she lowered her sex to the girl's mouth. Michelle lapped at her mistress, causing her to sway and moan. Soon the girl began to realize that she could feel everything she was doing as if it was happening to her. In an instant she understood why Jasmine always bit her during sex. She understood that Jasmine was sharing a small amount of her blood, then taking some back, allowing her too feel what she Michelle felt. The vampire's orgasm built slowly, and the child lavished in it. She could hardly believe what was happening to her. She was more excited than she had ever been, the scent of vampire blood and sex in her nostrils and her own ministrations causing waves of pleasure to wash over her. When Jasmine finally came the girl could hardly contain herself. She moaned and panted, trying to focus her attention on Jasmine's sex. After the orgasm ebbed Jasmine collapsed on top of her. "Now you understand." She said quietly. Michelle nodded silently. "There's more." Jasmine moved until she was behind the girl with her arm draped over Michelle's waist. "If you turn me?" "Yes." "Will I hate you, like you hate him?" "No." Jasmine kissed the girl's neck. "Not until you make your first kill."
