I hoped I gave Julian one of the same when I punched him too. The rest of the morning went on with a common routine of using the bathroom, eating, deciding what to wear, and going to school. I grabbed my bags off the floor and headed out the door. I got to school and went straight to my locker where Missy, my best friend, greeted me. "Hey, who was that girl you left with yesterday?" she asked, leaning on the lockers beside mine. "She's Kim. Another one of Julian's play toys. Why?" I said opening my locker. "'Cause when you left, Julian stormed out of the gym too, so that was kinda strange," she said bewildered. I shrugged my shoulders. Missy was my best friend since way back into my past. She knew the most about me and my little quirks and I was positive that she was the only person that I could trust. She also knows about what happened between me and my family a while ago and can read everything about me. Of course, I knew her like that in the same way too. "Hey, it's that girl again," she said poking my arm. I turned around and saw Kim making her way over to my direction, all the while swinging her hips making all the boys and some of the girls turn in her direction. She was wearing a low cut top with skin tight jeans and goddamn; she was something to look at. Kim came closer and I could smell the perfume surrounding her, giving me another reason to keep breathing. "Hi," she said with a smile. "Umm, hey," I said trying to act casual. "I just wanted to thank you again for the other night. I really appreciated you stopping me and giving me a ride." "No problem. If it happens again, just tell me. I'll deal with him," I offered. "Thanks but I don't think it'll ever happen again anyways," she laughed. I laughed too, "Good." Suddenly, she brushed my cheek giving me a surprise and leaned in toward my face. I thought she was going to kiss me, but instead, she just looked into the bruise around my lip. "What happened here?" she said her eyes wide with concern. "Oh, it's nothing," I said turning away because I swore that my face was red and I didn't want her to see that to ruin my image. "Hmm, I didn't notice that," Missy said, cutting in. "Umm, Missy this is Kim. Kim this is Missy, my best friend," I introduced, silently thanking Missy in my head, knowing I owed her big time. "Hi," Missy said putting out her hand. Kim received the greeting and returned the favor. Just then, the bell rang and Kim said that she still had to go to her locker and left with a wave. I looked after the fading figure in a daze until Missy shook me hard. She was laughing. "You are so whipped," she said still laughing. "Shut up," I said shoving her, all the while smiling at myself. Kim Soo, I never expected to find another girl this attractive before but I kept saying to myself that she was either super pretty or something was really wrong with me. I've dated hundreds of guys before and they were so boring. It was like they either wanted to have sex with me or they wanted a real relationship, but since I never had any real interest in them, I just broke it off with every one of them. When I see Maya in the halls talking to her friend, I just can't help but think how great it would be if I was by her side too. I guess I just really want to be one of her close friends. I always seem to get nervous when I'm near her and its getting me all flustered just thinking about it. Gosh, she just seems so cool and has a calm, easy-going air to her. "Ms. Gonzalez!" someone yelled. I snapped back from daydreaming and stared straight into the eyes of an angry Mrs. Smith. "Hi, umm how are you today?" I said with a shy smile. Some of the people in my class snickered but the glare in her eyes silenced everyone else, including me. "I hope your daydreaming about what we just learned today because you just cost the whole class a quiz tomorrow!" she said loudly. Everyone groaned and I immediately got embarrassed. Thankfully, the bell rang just then and I gathered all my stuff and practically ran out of the class with my face all red. Unfortunately, I ran into someone as soon as I turned a corner and my papers went flying. Some people stared and chuckled as I thought, why me. I looked up to say sorry to the person but when I noticed that I crashed into Maya of all people, words refused to come out of my mouth. Her eyes held my eyes for a moment; they were light brown and in the sun, they glowed a golden brown color. They held me captive and I lost myself staring into her eyes. Just then, those eyes turned reflected amusement and my face grew so very hot. "Uh, umm, I-I'm sorry," I stuttered. She smiled, "Don't worry about it. You ok?" "Yeah," I said quickly. She gathered all my papers for me silently and handed them over to me. "I didn't know you take AP World." "Yeah, I do with Mrs. Smith," I said starting to get nervous again. "Oh, I heard she was a bitch," she laughed, "is that why your face was all red coming out of her class?" My mouth gaped open, "It was not!" I denied, playfully shoving her. "Sure," she said, still laughing. "Oh, right. I got somewhere to go. See you later." "Bye," I said as she turned to leave. I watched her fade into the crowds but can still see her leaving the building. She had a sense of masculinity to her but her face was so cute and feminine. I sighed. I just couldn't seem to get her out of my head. I started walking again to my lockers and was deep in thought until Chloe, my best friend rushed up to me. "I saw you with that girl, Kim," she said all ecstatically, "you guys look cute together," "What are you talking about," I scoffed, "I'm not into girls like that." "Hmm, I don't know. You looked all nervous when you were talking to her," she said with a big smile. Unlike me, Chloe was bisexual but she leaned more towards liking girls. "Oh hey, gotta go. I'm meeting Megan at the library," she squealed. With that, she ran off towards another building. I rolled my eyes at her, she was always going after girls these days. What she said started to get through to me though. Was I into Maya in that way? I mean she was extremely pretty and something about her just makes me want to get to know her better but other than that there weren't any other extra feelings?right? I was in shock. Maybe I was into girls. That would make a lot of sense considering the number of guys I've dated but with no romantic feelings for them whatsoever. No, I can't be like that. Maybe I was just bisexual like Chloe. But I'm not really into guys that much. So I'm a?lesbian? No! No, that can't be right! I stood there in silence staring at my locker but not really staring at anything. Bewilderment clouded my head as I tried to figure everything out, but I didn't really get anywhere. I pushed aside the rest of my thoughts and left for home. The fact that I was going home relieved me because at that moment all I wanted to do was lie down and rest. I left out an exhausted breath. It had been a long day.
