This story started out of boredom, and has now taken on a life of its own.

I've gotten a lot of positive feedback, and some negative. I'm open to suggestions and feedback.

The sex isn't a major part of it, nor is it graphic. If you're looking for masturbation fodder, look elsewhere. There will be many slow times in this story, just like there are in life. Other times, things will fly at you too fast. There will be boring days, and exciting days. It's just how it's flowing.

Here is the house plan I used for inspiration for their new lake house. I've modified it to fit my dream, but this is what gave me the idea of the general layout.

*********************************************************************************************

On the drive to the house, I told Don about meeting Scott, our trip to Los Angeles, finding Charlie, and how we got Davie, Brandon, and Chipper. I told him about meeting Josh and changing him. And about changing Tanya for Sam. He noticed I hadn't mentioned Morgan or Derrick, so I told him of how we met and how Morgan willingly gave his life to save mine.

"That explains his visions then. Changelings often have magical abilities, and those with unique minds are usually the most powerful seers or empaths. I assume you've been told to hide any magic from the Council?"

"It seems to be one of the worst kept secrets I've ever known. What is your experience with changelings and magic?"

"Paul applied as an intern at my firm in 1979. He was a 26 year old human and I looked like I was in my sixties. I was very drawn to him, so I hired him. I was able to keep the truth from him for a year or so, but he was also drawn to me. We ended up dating for a while and one night we were talking about the age difference. He said he didn't mind that he would outlive me, but he was sure he wanted to share what years I had left. That night I explained the reality of our world to him, and he accepted it all. I contacted James, through Matt, and he said I could turn him, so I did. A month later, I got a call from Prince George who said he was sending a man named Lucien to talk with us. Paul spent three months training, and he's a fair magic user. He doesn't see the future like your boy, his abilities are more along the lines of flashy magic like levitating things and starting fires."

"I'll have to talk with Paul when he returns. For now, I have someone I'd like you to meet." I said, as we pulled up to the house.

We walked in the foyer and I asked Andrew to have Frederick meet us in my office. I was informed that Frederick was in the fields, training with several members of the pack, and wouldn't be back until mid-afternoon. I led Don to the kitchen and introduced him to Scott and Bea, and we enjoyed our late lunch. We showed him around the house and introduced Mary and the small pups. Billy got a text saying Marcus and his family were in a car coming from the airport, and almost here.

Billy, Don, Josh and I headed to my office and I sat at my desk with Billy standing behind me. Josh and Don were sitting across from me when Andrew knocked and announced "Marcus Sullivan, his wife Gail, and their daughter Allison to see you Sire."

I stood and a tall, slim red-haired man that looked to be in his early 20's walked in, followed by a small blonde woman in her 30's and a blonde girl that looked to be about 13. The two females stopped near the door as Marcus walked up to my desk, keeping his gaze on the floor.

"Alpha Warnick, I submit myself to any discipline you decide, but I ask that you hear my story, and forgive my mate and daughter."

"My name is Greg. Tell me your story. You have my word you and your family are safe, regardless of what you tell me. Please, let's sit over here by the window." I said, indicating the sofa as I went to sit in the arm chair. "Andrew, would you get us some drinks please?"

Andrew took care of getting everyone something to drink as Marcus told me his tale.

"Boston's vampires have lived without a local Alpha since before I was born, in 1892. When the US entered the war, I had just finished my business degree at Harvard, and I joined the Army when Dad did. I was an officer in France and leading men in battle triggered my phase to Alpha. I wanted to ask my Dad what to do about it, but I got word that he had died to artillery about the same time. When I came home, my first priority was taking care of Mom. She never got over Dad's death, and refused to renew. She died in 1922."

"I was single, an Alpha with no pack. I guess technically, in a pack that had been ignored by our Alpha, and the local vampires started coming to me for answers. At first, I resisted their swearing to follow me because I knew that legally, we all belonged to Alpha James, but after a few years of being asked to lead, I decided I would do what I could. I made everyone that wanted to swear allegiance to me, swear that if Alpha James came back, they were still his. I made my priority the welfare of the vampires in the greater Boston area, but things grew and grew. Now, most vampires in Massachusetts are in my pack, but they all still consider themselves in Alpha James' pack, er, your pack now I guess."

"I've long ago accepted that I'm an illegal Alpha and living under a death sentence. I ask that no harm come to my wife and daughter. They had nothing to do with this. I also ask that you accept my pack members and care for them properly." As he said this last, he turned his head, offering his neck to me in submission.

Before I could reply, Allison spoke up "He's not angry Daddy, relax."

We both turned to look at his daughter, then he turned and looked me in the eyes for the first time. "Forgive her Alpha, she has autism and doesn't always know when to keep quiet."

I smiled and spoke to Allison "You can speak your mind anytime sweetie. My newest son is just like you." Then I turned to Marcus "In my mind, you have done nothing wrong. You certainly couldn't control the fates that caused you to phase during a war, and your actions in Boston were motivated by compassion for your packmates. There is nothing to forgive, but if it helps, I forgive you. Now, will you please call me Greg?"

He nodded so I went on "Due to some miscommunication, I just learned today that my pack includes all of New England, so I'm happy to add those vampires to my pack."

"Thank you Alpha, er... Greg. I explained to Gail that we'd have to sell and move if you took your pack back. We can return home and start doing that. If you insist, we can be gone in a week and handle the sale from elsewhere."

"Marcus, look at me." He met my gaze and I continued "I think you misunderstand me. What I'd like to do, if you're willing, is legitimize your Alpha status, and leave you where you are. Your pack has followed you for almost a hundred years. That tells me you've either done right by them, or you're an overbearing beast. If you were the latter, you wouldn't be here offering to leave. Will you accept continuing as a Serving Alpha, keeping your pack, and serving under me? With the oath you asked of your pack, that's what you've been all this time."

"I would be honored Sir. If I'm honest, that's what I had hoped you might say, but I didn't want to assume anything."

There was a knock, and Frederick came in "You wanted to see me Sire?"

Don's eyes opened in shock when he saw Frederick, then he looked at me with sudden understanding. He quickly stood and dropped to a knee, bowing his head. Marcus looked from his brother to Frederick, and I saw that he too, understood what Frederick being here, calling me `Sire' meant. He joined his brother, in front of me on his knee. He glanced at his wife and made a quick motion for her to kneel.

"I expected Don to catch on, since he said Lucien had taught Paul, but Marcus, how is it you also know?"

He kept his head bowed as he said "Lucien came to Boston several times to teach changelings over the years. Several of them told me of the prophecy. When I changed Gail and Allison, I called Prince George to ask if he could send Lucian to talk to them about magic, but he said Lucien was no longer in his service. I assumed this was because the King from the prophesies had appeared. If he's here, I have to assume it's you Sire?"

"Please, get up. Take your seats and relax. You've read it right, at least it seems to be right. I have to insist that you tell no one, for now. And around here, he goes by Frederick. Do you remember dealing with Marcus, Frederick? Or teaching Paul?"

"I remember Paul, Sire. No offense Marcus, but I don't remember you. Over the centuries, I've tended to focus on the magic using vampires, helping them develop their talents, unless I got a hostile feeling from their packs. You're not a magic user and weren't hostile, so our meeting wasn't worth noting."

"I understand Lucien, er, Frederick. I'm hoping you can speak with my wife and daughter while we're here, if Greg will allow it?"

"That's his job, Marcus. Frederick is my Delta for Magic. All magic using vampires fall under his guidance in some form or another. Frederick, why don't you take Gail and Allison to the library and get to know them while Marcus, Don, and I talk."

"He's keeping something secret Daddy. Something about me. It's not bad, but he's confused."

"I have lots of secrets Allison, and I'm not mad that you said something, but I need to keep things secret to do my job. Can you help me by not mentioning my secrets?"

"I'm sorry Mr. Greg. Since I got changed, I just know how people are feeling. I'll try not to say anything."

"Have you hunted yet? Does your beast talk to you? My son's beast has helped him focus."

"I haven't been able to take either of them hunting yet Greg. I was going to ask my Beta's wife, then we heard about you and things got confusing. Allie's told me her beast keeps saying she can help her."

"I can only speak from my son's experience, but he seems to do much better now that he's joined with his beast." I turned to Allison "Allie, that's one of the things I think you sensed from me. I was wondering about your beast. I'm hoping you and Morgan will get along. Maybe he can tell you how it is for him when he gets home. You and your mom go with Frederick now, please?"

Once Frederick had led Gail and Allison out, I turned to Marcus "Business or personal first?"

"I don't know what you mean by business Greg, so let's start with that."

"You mentioned that you own a business? Tell me about that first, then we can talk more."

"Dad owned the first Ford dealership in Boston, and before he died, he had a lock on Ford in all of the area. Over the years, I've expanded things to include several other brands. All the profits have gone to providing for the pack, or expanding the business."

I turned to Joshua "Interesting, don't you think?" Marcus looked confused, so I continued "Joshua is my son and heir. We have auto dealerships here in Pittsburgh, as well as New England, Los Angeles and Chicago. We're in the process of buying more in New York. We own commercial real estate all over New England, New York City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Los Angeles, and elsewhere."

"I will surrender my business to you Greg. I came here ready to give it all up anyway."

"Let's not rush things. There are Alphas from New York coming later tonight, and I want to see how all of that develops before we decide anything. I want Josh's input on all of this, but as I see it you can continue as you are, keeping your business to care for your pack, or we combine our business interests and find a role for you in them, giving you a larger financial base to care for your part of my pack. Just know that my main concern is the welfare of the vampires in your territory, regardless of them being officially sworn to my pack or not."

"Greg? May I interrupt?" I nodded to Josh so he went on "This morning you told me to keep my eyes open, and I have to say, I think I've found what you told me to find sitting in front of us. Should I go on?"

I nodded, so Josh continued "Marcus, how many dealerships do you own? And what spectrum of brands do you have?"

"I have 36, all across the state. Like I said, we started with Ford, but early on I added Lincoln. Now I have all the US and Japanese brands, as well as BMW and Mercedes. Herb called me about buying his franchises last month, but I didn't want to expand if I was going to have to sell. If Don hadn't called me, I was going to contact you about the pack."

I looked at Josh and nodded, saying "It's your call, he'll answer to you."

Josh sat in the other arm chair and said "Dad has to step back from running the business so he can get a handle on pack issues, as well as his role as Prince and eventually, King. I was running our automotive division, but I'm stepping up to oversee everything. I need someone to run the automotive side of things. How would you feel about taking on that role? We'll fold your dealerships into ours, and you'll have full control of the entire thing. I'd be interested in buying anything you want, especially the higher end ones, as we just made offers in New York and Chicago for Rolls-Royce."

"With all due respect, my priority is my pack. If I do this, how can I be in Boston for them?"

Billy spoke up "I just ordered 3 more Phenoms and 3 more Bells, Greg. One of each for Marcus, the others are for New York. Both Embraer and Bell have fallen in love with us, and promised delivery within two weeks. They're delaying other customers and adjusting units in line to our specs already. I'm assuming we'll work something out with the Alphas there without having to get ugly about it."

"Marcus, is your Beta a mind reader like mine? While we're talking about it, Josh, either buy or start a limo company in both New York and Boston, or talk to the manager at Regent and see if he wants to expand. Expect more locations as this pans out."

"So, just like that, you buy me a plane and a what? Helicopter?"

"Like you said, your pack comes first. To do that, you need to be based in Boston. To do the job I'm asking you to do, you need to be able to get here, or New York, quickly. And to Chicago, Los Angeles, and others. If you accept the role, the plane and helicopter are yours to use. If not, whoever takes the job will use them. Do you have a strong Beta and a team to help with pack issues? Or a strong business team you can put in place to make the job easier?"

"I have both, so unless you need an answer now, I'll make some calls this evening and let you know tomorrow?"

"That's fine, I'd prefer you do that in fact. I will ask you to call this Herb and find out the details of buying him out. We can talk more about pack issues when the other Alphas get here, it'll save time, if you don't mind?"

"About that Greg, Paul just texted me. He's about 10 minutes away, and the other Alphas got moving a bit quicker than expected. They'd all like to meet you this evening once they land. They should be here by 7."

"That's fine Don. Tell him to come in here when he lands, please. You didn't mention Frederick, did you?"

"I don't share anything without your approval Sire, even with my mate."

"Well, I'd like to see his reaction, but in the future, you're free to share anything within your firm, unless I specifically ask you not to. I have to admit, I get a perverse pleasure from watching people's reaction to seeing Frederick."

"I've noticed that Sire." Frederick said, as he came back with Gail and Allison. "Would you like to hear my thoughts? Or wait until we're alone?"

"Unless Gail or Allie object, I think we trust everyone here."

Neither objected, so Frederick said "Allison is a very strong empath. I don't know if she'll also have visions once her beast awakens, but she can read someone's mood and intent already. Gail also needs her beast released before I can be sure, but I think her magic follows her scientific background and she will excel at healing and alchemy."

"What do you remember of Paul?" I asked, as we heard the helicopter approaching.

"Paul's magic is a combination of air and fire. If he focused only on magical studies, he could be a formidable magic user. If he hasn't furthered his studies, he can probably still do quite a bit of damage."

We watched as Paul got out of the Bell carrying a small bag and followed Amelia up the steps to the deck outside the office. She led him inside, and when he walked in the office, we could see his face as he recognized Frederick. He quickly looked around, stopping briefly on his mate before glancing at Marcus, then Josh, then finally looking at me in shock. He dropped his bag and dropped to his knee, bowing his head.

I felt bad but I couldn't help myself. I started laughing. He looked up, confused, as everyone joined the laughter. "I'm sorry Paul, please, stand. You got it right. I was just telling everyone how I enjoy watching people's faces as they process what you just went through."

"Forgive me Sire, I didn't know this morning."

"It's fine Paul. I'd prefer we keep this quiet for now. The council's not ready for a King yet. And if I'm being honest, I don't know if I'm ready to be King."

"You're ready Dad, but there's no rush." Morgan said, as he walked in. The rest of the pups staying at the door, understanding they shouldn't just walk in.

"Morgan, I appreciate it, but you need to learn to wait and not just walk in."

"I'm sorry Dad. My beast said I should come in cause my mate's in here." he said with a blush.

There was only one candidate, so everyone's eyes went to Allie. She looked at Morgan and smiled, then turned to her dad "My beast is telling me he's right Daddy. But I'm not ready yet."

Morgan looked from her back to me "She's right Dad. She needs to be with her dad for a while and I need to be here with you. We'll be together when it's right." She smiled as he walked over and took her hand.

I smiled at them both "I'm guessing this is what you saw but didn't want to talk about?" He grinned, so I asked "Is she what you expected?"

He looked at his feet as he said "She's prettier than I thought, and she smells like candy."

"Well, would you like to show Allie and her mom the house? I bet she'd like a walk by the lake before dinner too. I'll take Marcus and Paul and give them the tour. Be back for dinner, ok?"

"Ok Dad, thanks." Morgan said, as he led Allie and Gail down the hall.
