So much for sleeping in. I turned back and could tell from his breathing that Scott was still asleep. I let my hands roam over his chest and belly and gently worked my arm from under him so I could give him what he had given me last night. I was slowly stroking him and when I retracted his skin, I took him in my mouth. I heard him whisper "Very close..." so I worked my tongue around him and felt him tense. He tasted amazing and I wanted every drop. When he was done, I licked my way to his mouth and kissed him deeply. We must have dozed off because my phone woke me and it was almost 9:20 "Hello?... yeah, we overslept, we'll be out after we shower, sorry Mom." "Two questions. First, are we still going to try to do Six Flags? And second, when did you start calling Mom 'Mom'?" "Do you love amusement parks? Or were you just going along with me?" "Just going along, I don't hate them, but I don't love them either. And the other?" "It's just feeling right so I'm doing it. You don't think she minds, do you?" "Oh no, she's loving it. Let's go shower, separately, or we'll be even later!" I swatted him on the butt as he got up to shower. He yelped, and ran for the shower. I got up and laid out clean clothes, then went in and rushed him out of the shower and got mine. When I came out he was dressed and on his phone. As I started to get, dressed he looked up "It's Mickey, they can be here and ready to take off at 3, we'd land at PIT at 10 pm local. What do you think? Want to take your son home?" We went out to find James, Donna, Billy and Charlie in the living room. Billy was feeding Charlie while James and Donna were on the laptop looking at properties in South Florida. "Sorry again for oversleeping." "You've had a busy week, we were happy to let you relax. So, what are your plans for today?" "That depends on your plans Mom?" "We thought we'd just relax here again today, line up flights to Florida for tomorrow." "Well, we have a better idea. We're flying home at 3 today. Come spend the night at home, and then head to Florida tomorrow. Let us make your arrangements?" "Are you sure?" "Unless something happens, we've got things to do at home, and Greg has to go clean out his Dad's house, then Matt and Liz are coming to visit. I don't think we'll be leaving home for a month." "Don't forget visiting with your favorite nephew" Jack said as he came through the door. "How could we forget you. Have you figured out how long you can stay?" "I have to be in London for a board meeting next Monday early, so I should leave Sunday afternoon." "Board meeting? One that you put me on?" "Yeah Greg, but you can miss it." "That's not how we need to start things Jack, if I miss the first meeting I'm supposed to attend, they'll not respect me. I'll be there." "I don't think it would be wise to argue with him Jack, just go pack, we're leaving for Pittsburgh at 2." "You rented a plane?" "Something like that, yeah, just go pack. Meet us downstairs." "What time should Regent pick us up?" "Do they have a bus, we need room for seven." "There's a limo that holds eight, I'll get it." "Have them at the FBO at 9pm, waiting." As I was saying this, my phone rang so I answered "Good morning George, how are you?... I'm sorry to hear that, is there anything we can do?... Well, yes, we have but... We already have Charlie... Then we have no choice... No, I know you're not forcing us, I just mean, yes, give me a second." "I heard babe, and yes, do it." "OK George, we'll do it... our plans have changed though, we were going to leave here at 2, taking off at 3... OK, we'll see you there, and we're sorry for your loss." "Billy, call Regent back, we'll need their two SUVs, or three sedans" "On it Scott." When I hung up I looked at Scott "You're sure? This is insane." "This is fate babe, things happen for a reason, just roll with it." "This will change things. Let's get packed, we should stop and do some shopping." "Mom, would you take care of Charlie and get him to the airport? Scott and I need to go take care of something once we're packed." "Sure honey, Jack and dad can help me." "Just talked to Frederick, he'll be here in ten minutes. A car will be here for James, Donna, Jack and Charlie at 1." "Thanks Billy, you're with us, let's go hon." and we ran to gather our things. Frederick knocked on the suite door 9 minutes later and helped us carry things downstairs "Figured your car seat was already in the Escalade so I told Alex to drive it." he said as he led us to a Lincoln Town Car. "Thanks Frederick, we'll need a second one, and some clothes. Where should we go?" "You won't need either. George has one and they got a bag out before it was over. No sense buying more, he'll out grow them in a week. George asked me to take you to the airport and he'll be along within the hour. Do you need to stop anywhere else?" "Food, we missed breakfast." "Mickey D's?" Billy threw in. "OK, you heard the boss, Frederick." We pulled up to the hanger shortly after eleven and had just set our bags out when George pulled up. "He's asleep, Alex can stay with him, let's go sit and talk. On the plane?" I nodded and we climbed the stairs. Clint was there checking his supplies and asked if we needed anything. I just shook my head and we walked to the second compartment and closed the door. We sat at the table and George filled in the details of how there had been a gas explosion and vampire couple had died. High level CPS know of our existence and call George when one of our young is orphaned. This couple were close friends of George's and I was supposed to meet the husband my next time in town. Their son was pulled from the fallen building, and had no other family. George was asking us to adopt him as he felt he was too old to be starting a family. "And you're sure there is no other family?" "None, that's why I called right away. I've had a few orphans lately and know I'll struggle to place this one. I felt it would be good for him to grow up with Charlie." "But he'll grow twice as fast, Charlie will be in first grade when this boy hits puberty." "Then I suggest you turn him, Greg. Please understand, that is not an order and the choice still rests with the two of you. No one will be angry if you don't, I just think it might make your lives easier. I've cleared it with the Council. Whatever you choose, we'll support it. Just let me know when you do it, if you do." "How old is this boy?" "He's 3 months old Scott." "So he's about the same as Charlie now?" "Roughly yes, he'll likely crawl this week or next." Scott stood up "Come on babe, let's go meet our son." As we were leaving the plane, I looked at Clint "How much blood are we carrying?" "10 units Sir, one for every passenger for flights of less than 8 hours. Is there a problem?" "No, no problems, and your first lesson on our preferences... Don't call us Sir, please?" "Only if you have business guest Sir." Clint smiled and nodded towards George. Then he went back to checking the stocks. As we went down the steps, Mickey and Ted were walking around doing their inspection. "Good morning guys. Feeling rested?" "We're both gonna sleep the whole flight, so it's fine." "That's good, I always wanted to learn to fly." "We're good Greg, thanks for asking. There is one thing but it can wait until we're in the air, if you can spare a few minutes then?" "Sure, just call me forward." "Will do, oh, how many flying today?" "Nine, and two are infants. Why?" "It sounds horrible, but we just need to tell the FAA how many souls are onboard. Clint will take a count but it's nice to know what to expect." "OK, see you soon. We have to go meet my son." They looked at me odd but went on with their work. I went to join George, Billy, and Scott. He was holding a baby who was looking around trying to wake up. "Hey there buddy, what's your name?" "I'm sorry Greg, didn't I say? This is David Gregory Scott." Scotty's eyes shot wide open at hearing this. "George, do you know my name?" "Yeah, Scott Warnick." "I'm David Scott Warnick." George looked at the two of us and I said "And our other son is now Charles David Fowler Warnick." "Fate is having too much fun with you boys this week." "Ya think? Did you notice the paint on that Phenom?" "Yeah, I saw that too." I decided not to dwell on it too much, so I reached for David and he smiled at me and leaned into my arms. "Come on Davie, let's get you in the plane. Tell Pop to carry your things and ask uncle George if he'll bring your seat. Be sure to say please." That got a laugh from them both and we headed for the plane. Clint was making baby talk to him the second we got in. Thankfully Clint knew how to properly secure a child seat in the plane because none of us had a clue. He then asked for a baby bottle and some formula and showed us how to mix it with blood and warm it up. Scott fed Davie while Clint showed me where and how to stow our carry on luggage, then we went out and he showed me the baggage compartment saying "If you come through the FBO terminal, they'll take your baggage and load it for us. If you drive directly to the plane they still might, or I might, but in a pinch, it's always nice if the owners know this stuff." "I'm up for learning anything you can teach me." "OK then, the coffee maker is on the second shelf..." "Oh dear God, all three of you are comedians looking for work." "That we are. We've been flying together since before WWII. I was a pilot too, back then." "Mates?" "Nah, we muck around together some but...OH, you mean do we have mates. Nah, Mickey had one before the war but she was a nurse at Bunker Hill and a stray cannon got her. I think he's almost over her, but I doubt he'll even look for another. Ted and I, well, we both enjoy playing the field too much, if you'll forgive my being blunt." "Have you lined up housing in Pittsburgh?" "Not yet, but that depends on your approving of us. I think Mickey was going to ask you if you had any apartment buildings. Guess he didn't get around to it?" "He was doing his inspection. I told him I'd ask to come forward when I had a chance." "You've not flown private much, have you?" "This will be my second time, why?" "You own the plane Greg, you go forward whenever you want. By law, I have to go through the seat belt and life jacket routine if there are any passengers I don't have personal knowledge that they know the craft, so after a few flights with the same folks, we'll just board and go. You'll only hear it again if you have guests. I'm trained as an Intermediate EMT, not like we have many medical emergencies, but you will have humans onboard at times, maybe. Other than your safety, my job is to serve food, coffee, blood, and make the bed. I won't let people that I don't know go forward without your approval." "Thanks Clint, I think we'll all get along fine. Once we're airborne we'll want to chat with Jack, Mom and Dad for a while. You seem to like babies but we'll hope they're asleep. Let's put Charlie opposite Davie? Or are only certain seats set up for the child seats?" "Any of the single seats have the hooks, so you've got eleven options. We prefer the couch only be used on take-off and landing if we're full up. And ya can't be in bed at those times either." "I'll pass all this on to Scott so you don't have to go through it again. And here comes the rest of the gang." As the Escalade pulled up "Do you mind helping with the bags? I need to get my son." "I don't mind, if you don't mind holding him until I can secure his seat? You might buy two to keep in the plane, save us both some work. If the one is staying human he'll need it for 2 years, then boosters for another five or six." "That's part of the conversation to be had, thanks Clint." and I turned to greet everyone. "How did you rent one of these already? I thought Qatar got the first 10??" "Funny thing about that Jack... let me take Charlie, Clint here will help with the bags, now if you'll grab your carryon bags and follow me, I'll introduce you to the owners." as I led them up the steps. We went in and everyone got settled into a seat, I handed Charlie to Scott and explained Clint would be in soon with the child seat, then I stood and said "I'd like to introduce you to the owners of the first delivered, G700, Mr. Scott Warnick, and his husband and co-owner, Mr. Gregory Warnick." "How'd you manage that? How'd you bloody afford it?" "This was George's wedding gift." "Incredible, leave it to George." James said. "George gave us another gift. We'd like you all to meet David Gregory Fowler Warnick, our son. We're going to call him Davie." Donna wanted to hold him and James wanted answers. Jack just wanted to look around the plane. Scott looked at his parents and said "Well, while we're revealing things, there's a smaller plane in Pittsburgh waiting to take the two of you to Florida tomorrow, when you're ready." "What? Another gift? What is it?" "No Jack, not a gift. We liked the sound of yours so we called and they brought a Phenom 300 by here yesterday. We liked it so we bought it." "They're both personally owned by Scott and I. Any time we fly for business, we'll rent the plane to that business, depending on who it is. SO, when you and I fly to London, you're paying. When I fly home, we'll see how to work it out." "Smart Greg, very smart." "Thanks James, but it was George's idea." "And while we're on thoughts from George, he's already got us the Council's approval to change Charlie." "What? They can't force you..." "They're not forcing us Mom, George mentioned Charlie and they cleared it, IF we want to. We are free to do whatever we see fit." "Well that's good to know." "Sorry folks, I hate to interrupt but Greg said he wanted to be home as soon as possible? We can taxi anytime you say." "Yeah, tell Mickey to get rolling please. Everyone take a seat, not the couch. This is a first for Clint, and us, so please pay attention?" "What a fine introduction, OK folks, welcome to Bloodsucker Air's maiden voyage, if you'll look in the magazine pocket you'll find a safety sheet listing the safety features of this Gulfstream G700. The door you came in is an emergency exit, there are two through the wing windows, and one through the rear. Seat belts hold you tight and hook like this, smoke if you want, it's your plane." "NO Smoking in my planes!" "Y'all heard Scott, no smoking. Disabling the lavatory smoke detectors and web cams is a federal crime, so don't get caught. There's a life raft under the sofa, I'll get it if we need it, but on a side note, I'd like to teach any regulars how to use it just in case. Life vests are under your seats and they look like this. We have the drop-down masks, and please put yours on before putting them on these cute little things. That's about it, any questions?" "Encore!!" "Hell no, but thank you, I'll be here all night, and now, let's roll" "Folks this is Mickey your Captain speaking, on my right is goofy, er, Ted, he'll be reading the map for us. But seriously folks, we're honored to be flying this fine machine. We should be wheels up shortly, we expect to have you on the ground in Pittsburgh around 9:25 pm eastern time, for now, sit back and enjoy." During the comedy round up we had been taxiing and as we turned onto the run way Mickey announced "Steward, prepare for takeoff." And the two Rolls-Royce engines spun up to full power then we were off. The acceleration was strong for such a large jet but it was still quiet, considering. As the nose lifted, we angled up, then banked right and flew north over the Pacific, climbing and then banking right again to climb high over the mountains and east towards Las Vegas. We leveled off and we heard "We're now at 45,000 feet, and cruising at mach 0.85 with a nice tail wind, we might be home early. Talk to you in a bit." Clint said we could relax and unbuckle, then he got drinks for everyone. After that, he spent half an hour mixing formula then mixed half of that with blood for Davie. He stored this in the cooler, then asked us if we'd like dinner. While he got that ready, Scott and I sat with Jack and James to talk business. We got Matt on Skype, and we all agreed that renting the planes to the three companies was the fair way to handle things and we agreed to pay 80% of what a similar plane would cost through 'Wheels up', one of the newest charter jet services. We also agreed that Scott and I had priority use for personal use, but the companies could schedule 30 days in advance, and none of us had priority. Charges included any empty miles, which would likely mean Jack never used them, but that was OK with him. Scott insisted the `no smoking' rule applied at all times, to all people, and we made sure Clint was clear on this issue. The thing I insisted on was that James and Donna could use the small jet for personal use at any time, at no cost to them. This almost caused a fight because James refused to accept it until he realized he was the only one against it. Once this was settled, Scott went to feed Charlie and I went forward to talk with Mickey and Ted "Hey guys, enjoying the drive?" "You have no idea." Mickey said "It's so responsive, and powerful. Thanks for the chance to fly her Greg, really." "Well, you remember my deal with George. If I don't like you I can send you back." and they both got tense "But I've already thrown the receipt away, so there are no returns." They laughed, so I went on "Clint kinda touched on what you guys need, and to be honest, I don't know what I own. Do you have an apartment somewhere now?" They explained that they were flying random `as needed' charters the last few years, and didn't spend enough time in the same place to bother with an apartment. They figured with this job, they could somewhat settle down and hoped to have a place to call home, even if it was only a couple of bedrooms and a sofa. I hadn't asked George, so I had to ask the awkward question of what they were paid and what benefits were standard. They told me the industry standards and said George had only promised them at least 10% above that. I said I thought 50% above standard was more to my taste, as well as housing and a car in Pittsburgh, and a rental car when they're out of town. "I have some ideas, and I don't want you to feel pressure in any direction, but if I have one, I'll give you a 3 bedroom apartment to use. I have another option but it's involved and I want to get back to my sons. For the immediate future, you can stay in a hotel on me, or come to our house and use bedrooms in the house until we sort it out. I'd suggest that last one for tonight because... oh shit, I forgot to tell you. How soon can you take James and Donna to Florida?" They chatted back and forth for a minute and Mickey said "Takeoff anytime after 10am. 11 would be easier. Are we staying or flying back empty?" "Staying for now, pack your speedos. They'll probably stay a week, looking at homes." "We've got a friend in Miami Beach, so that'll save you the hotel there, but thanks." "I won't argue with you saving me money, just don't ever feel you need to. We'll talk more later, will you two eat?" "Clint will make some for us and we'll come back one at a time and eat in the galley." "No, you'll eat at the table, like the rest of the family. You're family now, we'll see you soon." and I went back to eat with my mate and sons. "Billy, call Regent and confirm the 2 SUVs please? And add a sedan. Or 4 sedans, Clint and the rest will need to come home, or a hotel, they haven't said yet" "We'll come to the house, at least for tonight. That will make it easier in the morning" I heard Mickey say over his shoulder. "You heard him. And we'll need a car with room for 5 in the morning. What time James? Anytime after 10." "Noon?" Billy made his call and I told Tommy he would be taking us to Daniels' at some time. I then started to email Tyler but stopped "Billy? When is Tyler expecting us tomorrow?" "1pm then Freddy's at 2, Mike at his office at 3, and back to pick things up from Tyler when we're done" Damn he's good. "Thanks Billy." "Scott? With us in Florida for a few days, who's going to watch the boys?" "I don't think we've thought that far ahead Mom. I suppose we'll take them with us everywhere." "That will fill the GLS. Do you think Mrs. White would do it for a few days until we can hire someone?" "I don't want a nanny raising our sons Greg. You can run things without me and I'll stay home." "I don't mean raising them hon, just helping us, being there when we're tied up or when we have to be gone. Or they can travel with us." "Well I'm guessing Grandma would be upset if you hired someone for at the house." "I don't want to upset her Billy, but if we're going to travel with them, I'd want the same person that cares for them at home." "I bet she'd travel, I'm going to be with you everywhere, and Mr. and Mrs. W. are moving to Florida, so who's she cooking and cleaning for? Tommy?" "That's all valid, we'll have to talk to her about it. And I guess we need to talk about the fact that the Phenom is quickly becoming too small for anything but single day trips. I don't want to leave the boys at home overnight without us, and if we're taking the boys, Billy and Mrs. White, there's only one spare seat." "Two, the sofa." "Clint's in one of those." "I can belt in the lavatory on takeoff and landing Greg." "I will not have you using the toilet for a seat, end of conversation. We'll just have to use this if the trip is likely to be overnight, and if the trip doesn't justify using it, we'll pay the difference in fees ourselves. It's our fault we're using the bigger one." "Seems fair to me babe, and it lets us make family first. Does this mean we're going to London?" "I hope so Scott, you haven't seen my place yet, have ya?" "Greg, I did something and I hope you're not angry, but it needed done, and I talked to James and Donna about it first..." Billy seemed sincerely scared we'd be angry. "What'd ya do buddy? I'm sure it's fine." "I had Grandma move you into the master suite and move your parents upstairs to the room you were in." I started to get upset but I stopped, and thought about it. It made sense, if James and Donna were going to move anyway, and the master has a room ideal for a nursery so it was thought out, and he didn't push them out, he suggested it. "You did the right thing Billy. I'm sorry we didn't think of it ourselves." I looked at Scott "Hon, I might have created a problem..." "What's that babe?" "Upstairs has our room, well Mom and Dad's, and 4 others, right?" "Yeah." "Well, count with me Mrs. White, Billy, Jack, Mickey, Ted, Clint, Tommy and Leonard. That's seven." "How big are the beds and do you have any pull outs or sofas?" "The beds are all queens Clint, and the sofas in the rec room pull out." "Mickey and Ted will share for tonight, I'll take a pull out. We're leaving in the morning" so now you're down to five." "Mickey and Ted can use mine, I can do a pull out, or sleep with Grandma for a night or two." "Four, see? Easy." "That solves it for tonight, but what about when they're back from Florida?" "We have the three unfinished rooms in the basement. We should get Leonard to finish them as bedrooms as soon as he can, then we at least have the rooms. They might not be perfect, but they're private, and have beds." "I agree. And I thought the long term plan was to rebuild a few of the houses, and Tommy and Leonard would take one. If Clint & company..." "Hey, I like that! I get first billing!" "If Clint & company want, we can do another house, or we can find them what they want somewhere." "I'm enjoying this, but it will have to continue while belted in ladies and gentlemen, please return your seat backs to their upright position and all that jazz, we're dropping from the sky. I hope there ain't nothin in the way!" "Hey Mickey!??" "Yeah Greg? I'm about to be busy here, make it quick." "Know where we can find a decent steward?" "Never met a decent one! Buckle up, we'll be landing in five. Thanks for flying Bloodsucker Air!" We touched down so gently the babies stayed asleep then taxied to the Atlantic hanger. As I looked out of the window, everyone was staring at the plane. I guess having the first in the world got us some attention. I wasn't sure I liked it but we'd deal with it. Then I noticed the four sedans waiting. I looked to Billy and he said "The Lincoln was committed, so they gave us the sedans and sent the Suburban to a customer instead." I nodded and started thinking, before I could speak Billy spoke up "Clint & company in the wagon because they have to shut the plane down and lock up, James and Jack in the E250, Scott, Davie and Donna in the Lincoln, and Greg, Charlie and myself in the S550, sound good to everyone?" "Swap with me Billy? I'd like to talk with Greg on the ride home, if that's OK?" "Yes Sir Mr. Warnick." "Why are you splitting Scott and me?" "I figured one car seat per vehicle was enough, and you'd both want to be with a son. We can move around more?" "No babe, he's right. Let's you and I take the boys and let Mom help get the car seats hooked in." "Alright folks, you heard General Billy, let's move out." I said taking Charlie from his car seat and heading to the stairs. "Great flight '& company', you're stuck with me for the next 100 years, if you want." "Only 100? We'll see you at the house Greg. We'll have them fuel this and have it ready." "See you at home." and I went down the stairs and to the waiting car. Billy and Jack worked as a team with the drivers and Clint, and all our personal items and baggage were loaded in the cars. Then Clint got a car seat for Davie while Mom got one for Charlie. Clint was right, we needed at least 2 more for the plane. It took about 15 minutes, and three cars were leaving the airport for home. Clint said to expect them about 30 minutes behind us. Charlie had fussed a bit but I changed him while waiting for his car seat, and he fall back asleep without eating. I'd have to make sure he ate at home, Dad was in the front and glanced at the driver, then turned to me. "Greg, I need you to understand some things I see coming in the next 20 to 40 years." I looked up "Jack isn't likely to find another mate. Once we're mated, it's forever and those who lose one rarely find another. We're talking one in thousands." "I can imagine, from how I feel about Scott. You're saying he's not likely to have any children?" "No, he's not. And, while he's free to leave his assets to whoever he chooses, he's lining you and Scott up as his heirs. If he wasn't, when I stepped down, he would have picked someone he knows better. I think he feels he owes it to me to give it back into the family." "And how do you feel Dad?" "I helped Joseph build his house in Woodstock in 1637 then gave it to him. When he wed, I gave him roughly the same as I gave you and Scott, including our ancestral castle in Zell, Germany. Joseph and Sarah were very smart, and they did well for themselves. Then Hitler came, and the castle was used by the SS and it was almost destroyed by the war. It still stands, but it's in sad shape. During the same time, Joseph, Sarah, and Susan died in the bombings of London. Jackie went through a rough time, there for about 20 years we worried we'd lose him. But you see him now, so he'll go on for a while, but he's alone and lonely. Financially he's probably worth twice what you boys are, so if you are his heir, well, I just want you prepared." "Dad, it's not really my business, but did you give us everything?" "Nah, you boys got all of our businesses. Like I said, we want to relax for a while, but you got about half the stocks and just a bit of cash. We're not hurting at all son, don't worry about us." "And Matthew?" "You've seen his assets, he received about the same as you boys in 1923. He went heavy in the markets with few hard assets, and lost huge in '29, but he got lucky with the war because his company had government contracts. He's worth about half of what the two of you are. Though if you think about it, he's one son and the two of you combine two son's shares." "Do you think there's jealousy?" "Matt doesn't have a jealous hair on his body. He knows he had some bad luck, and because of that luck he's been more conservative than I have been, but he's done well since then." "And you're telling me this because..." "You tell me." "Two reasons, I think. One, you'd like me to push his growth while he's at school. And two, he and Liz don't seem like the type to have children, so we're likely to see it come back to us at some point." "Once again your wisdom shows through. They might have kids in another life or two, but for now, they love education. I'd bet they go from Yale to Oxford to MIT to Cal Tech or some variation over the next 30 years. They both grew up in a time where college meant power and that's a hard lesson to unlearn. College isn't power, it's knowledge, but true power comes from wisdom. I'd bet on the wise 18 year old high school drop out over the man with 20 college degrees every time. I have, and I think I'm going to win." "I'll treat both of their assets like they are my own, you have my word." "I knew you would anyway, I just wanted to reassure myself that you knew the whole picture. And about your son, you have a hard choice to make young man, I won't pry, but if you ask, I'll give you my advice." "Should I change him Dad? With no regard to his desires, just decide his destiny?" "Parents have made choices for their children for millennia Greg. When they teach a child a religion, they are forcing that child to either accept it or reject the parents. When a son is born and circumcised, his choice is taken away. When parents spout their political rhetoric as the only truth, they create children who lack the ability to freely debate and learn and compromise. Sucking your son's blood until he's dry and feeding him your blood to give him long life is no worse than these." "I suppose, it still seems wrong." "There is a plus you may not be aware of. I saw you feeding Davie bagged blood. Next time, just cut your wrist and let him feed from you. The live blood will form a bond, and if you and Scott feed him that way, he'll be closer to you both. If you choose to change Charlie, after you drain him, both of you feed him. He'll be reborn as your son, both of your son, in the way you're my son. Your desire to call me Dad isn't just because you like me and I happen to be here, your veins were filled with my blood seconds after your death. I gave you life just like your father did. This is why a maker is also considered a parent." "I didn't know that, thanks Dad. Both for saving me so I can be with Scott, and for your help with everything." "I've said enough, let's get your boys to bed. I told Mrs. White to go get two cribs, they should already be in the nursery. And if the time comes that you do want to change Charlie, I'll be there guiding you, if you want." Mrs. White was there to greet us in the driveway and she gladly took Davie from Scott while he unhooked the car seat to go inside. I handed Charlie to Dad and did the same. By the time I got in, both boys had been changed and were being laid in the cribs in our new rooms. I asked Mrs. White to warm a bottle for Charlie and when Scott asked what about Davie, I explained what Dad had told me. He thought about it for a few seconds then his eyes turned that same red I thought I had dreamed and he pressed his thumbnail into his wrist, picked Davie up, and put his bleeding wrist to the baby's mouth. Davie's eyes opened bright at the taste, and he fed, gently, slowly feeding off his Pop's arm. I decided I would be next. Mrs. White came in with the bottle of formula and I held Charlie and fed him. Both boys drifted off to sleep as they fed, and when we thought they were full, we put them back in the cribs. Mrs. White stayed to look after them while we helped everyone else unload the cars. We had just finished when Clint & company came rolling up, so we all grabbed a bag and showed them where they'd be sleeping tonight. They had few things with them, so it was no problem. After they had put their bags away, Mickey asked me to show him the unfinished rooms downstairs, so I led them down. The rooms were on a hall shared by the exercise room and bathroom with the big shower. There were large French doors leading out of the rec room to the lower deck. They looked at the layout and the rooms and had a short conversation then Mickey said "You're going to finish these this week?" "I'm going to make it top priority, yes. I don't know how fast it can happen." "If we lived here, in these three, can we have guests?" "If you trust them, I trust you, so yes." "Well, if it's OK with you, we will live here when we're back from Florida. That will give you time to sort out the houses you were talking about, and we can talk about either a house, or staying here then. Our being here with you will make things easier if you need to fly on short notice. It's good for everyone." "Two conditions. First, you eat with the family. There's no need to waste your money on food. And second, if you ever start to be unhappy with the arrangements you speak up. Don't suffer because you feel you owe me anything." "Only if you agree to the same. If we're cramping your style, you speak up." "Furnished? Or do you want to pick your own?" "Match the house, everything looks fine." "Then if they're not done, you'll sleep where you are until they are done. Glad that's solved. Now to a business matter, do we need to be thinking about a backup crew so you can have time off, or so we can have both in the air if needed?" "Not a bad idea, but right now I don't see the need. If you like we can arrange it. I'm assuming you'll want vampires?" "It would add to our comfort, yes. I'd hate to be hiding blood on my own planes." We had been walking upstairs as we talked and we walked in to the kitchen to find everyone sitting around chatting. I went to see how Tommy and Leonard were doing. Leonard asked if I had time tomorrow to look at the houses. I glanced up and Billy, even though he was in his own conversation with Scott, looked at me and mouthed 'before noon'. I asked Leonard if we could be done in three hours and he said we would, so we planned for a walk after breakfast. I introduced him to Clint & company, and told the four of them to go downstairs and do whatever was needed. Leonard asked for limits and I said "A week." "No, I mean financially or things you don't want changed." "Whatever they want, done in a week. Make it happen." They all smiled and headed downstairs. I waved to get my husband's attention and pointed towards our room, when he nodded I said "It's been fun, but I have to be up early to look at the old houses so we're off to bed. Mom and Dad, please make sure we see you before you leave? Billy has a car coming for you and Clint & company at..." "Noon." "Like the general says, noon. And Tommy, we're leaving for Tyler's at..." "Noon." "Someone check if he's broken please? Oh, Billy, make a note, get Clint & company with Tyler." "Noon?" "Ya know what smart guy, ask them if they'd mind going down at 8 to be measured. If they don't mind, I'll talk to her when we go." "Measured for what?" Mickey said, coming up the steps. "Are your uniforms required by some law or code?" "No, we wear what our employer says, within reason." "No lace for me." Clint said. "Tommy, can you take them down, get them measured, and be back by." Billy shouted "NOON!" and ran. "What he said." "Should be able to if she can see them at 8." "BILLY! Come back down here please." "At noon?" we heard as he ran down the steps. "Change of plans, make this work out. Clint & Co to Tyler's at 8, us four at Tyler's at 1, Clint & Co and Mom & Dad together at PIT at 1. Sort it out, make it work, tell me at breakfast what I'm doing." "Leonard? Can you do it?" "Yes." "Budget?" "$5000? Another $5000 for furniture. Just some wiring, drywall, paint and flooring. They said do it simple, match the house." "Love you all, make it happen in a week?" "Today's...Wednesday, er Thursday... You'll smell paint drying Sunday evening, floors can go in on Monday." "I'm liking this team! Husband?" "Noon?" "Bed!" I headed towards the stairs and Scott just stood there and laughed "Hey sexy, this way." I'm tired. We went to our room and Mrs. White was sitting there reading, the boys were sound asleep. She whispered good night and I asked her to have breakfast at 7 and she nodded and closed the door as she left. Scott pulled me into a hug and whispered into my ear "I love you but I need sleep" "Good, sleep." and we curled up in each other's arms and slept. I woke to an empty bed and when I looked around, Scott had Charlie feeding him and Davie was asleep. I smiled at him and decided to skip a shower until I got back from my trip with Leonard. I put on the clothes from last night, dug out a pair of hiking shoes, kissed my sons and husband and went in search of food. Thankfully Mrs. White was one to be early because I walked in to the kitchen at 6:35 and she had food ready. It had been a long week and today was going to be long, so I poured a cup of white tail and put it in the microwave. The bell had just rung when Tommy and Leonard came down the steps. I held up the pitcher. "Either of you want any?" Both shook their heads and I think I heard one mumble "Coffee" so I sat down and filled a plate. They followed shortly with two cups of black coffee, yuk! "Mrs. White? Can you talk and cook at the same time?" "I can do more than that sweetie, what's up?" "We have put ourselves in a spot, and we need to know your thoughts on solving it." "Billy talked to me about it last night, of course I'll care for your pups, or travel when I'm needed, why wouldn't I?" "We didn't know how you'd feel about travel and we don't want to overload you. If you need anything, you speak up OK?" "OK Greg, well I do have one issue I'd like to clear up." Uh oh, she wasn't happy? She was our rock... "What's that?" "I'm the only one you call 'Mrs.' or 'Mr.' my name is Mary." "I'm sorry I was just going by what Scott called you and you're Billy's Grandma, I was being respectful." "It's fine Greg. Scott was a child and Mrs. was appropriate to teach manners. If it's OK with you boys, I'd prefer Mary?" "Fine by me Mary. I'm sorry too." Scott said, walking in and sitting by me "But what should our boys call you?" "Aunt Mary?" "I love it, you are family so it fits. We might use it so they get the idea, if that's OK?" "I'll feel like Aunt Bea, I think I like it." she said with a laugh Scott and I said "Who?" She started to explain about `The Andy Griffith Show' but when we started laughing, she laughed too. "No dinner for you two!" "Hon, I'm going with Leonard to look at the houses, what are you doing this morning?" "If she has time, I think I'll have Aunt Bea go through the boys' clothes and things with me and make a list of that we need." he said, grinning at Mary "Watch it boy, I can still spank you." "Leonard, if you're done, I think we should leave before there's bloodshed." "I'm with you boss!" I heard Billy coming down so I waited to ask "Did you sort out things?" "Yes, Tommy will take Clint & Co to Tyler's, they should leave soon." As if they had heard their names, Clint, Mickey and Ted came down the steps. "Then the car will take us and your parents to Tyler's a bit early, we'll leave at 11:30, we'll swap out downtown." "Sounds like a plan. Let Mom and Dad know they need to be ready early please?" "One last thing before you go, Mickey and others, feel free to give Tyler your ideas and preferences for clothing. Please use her judgment on what quality to buy. If you want a military look, do it, if you want business suits, do it. I'll see what you come up with and unless I absolutely hate it, we'll do it." "We'll look. For Clint's job a suit's fine, but your guests will feel more comfortable if Ted and I look like pilots are 'supposed' to look." "You look how you want to look, if you sitting at the controls of a $75m airplane doesn't make them comfortable, they can fly commercial. I've gotta go, I have to get back and shower. Scott, set out some clothes for me please? I don't care if we go in suits or jeans today. I'm out of here!" Leonard and I went out through the garage and I finally saw the truck he had bought. It was a Ram 3500 4wd crew cab with an 8' bed, in blue. As I got in, I could smell the new leather and I was in love. "Nice truck, did you get what you wanted?" "I did. I'll be honest, we'd just met and I was worried you'd be upset I spent $85k instead of getting a basic work truck, but from how you talked, if you were unhappy, I'd just pay you what I paid." "No, this fits what I imagine for your role. The question is, what do you want for you?" "After talking with Tommy and hearing about how you do things, I want to work for you. I'll sell you my license and work for you. Will that work?" "Depends on what you mean by 'work for me'. What I see you doing has very little swinging of hammers and a lot of general contractor type things. Manage the remodels in the house, build two to four houses out here, manage remodeling and repairs to properties we own in the area, and if you want, we can set up a construction company and you run it for us. Pay you a salary plus percentage plus stocks. We can work out the details on that as time goes. Is that what you meant by 'work for me'?" "That's what I thought you had in mind, so I got the truck to fit the job." "Great! Now, before we get out here, talk to me about how it's going to work with you here all the time if we take Tommy with us on trips to drive for us." He said that they shared their lives but also had their own lives. They were not monogamous so if we saw something while on a trip, we shouldn't worry. I said that was not our business, but appreciated what he was saying about us misunderstanding something. Basically, they'd be happy if the other was happy, as long as they saw each other once or twice a month. We pulled up to Mary's house and got out. "So you've done nothing yet?" "Still planning and waiting on the heavy equipment contractor. He's backed up 3 weeks." "Sounds like an opportunity, do you know any operators?" "Several, you're thinking of going that big?" "I don't know equipment. If you are building homes and wanted to do your own work like that, what would you buy? You're tearing these down, water lines, all that stuff." "I'd start with a small excavator and a large skid steer." "Trucks, trailers, etc. How much money?" "I could pick up a used one for..." "New. We're going to live 100 years, buy new, take care of it, sell it when it costs too much to maintain." "OK, Excavator $225k, Skid Steer $50k, Dump truck, trailer for it, trailer for my truck.." "Nope, your truck's for show, get another truck for tow." "Cute... OK, you're looking at half a million, give or take. Do you want to jump in that deep?" "That's to build how many houses a year?" "10-12 maybe up to 20. To do more we'd need more, but to do more we'd want to develop the land and build in a line." "You'll need saws, hammers, drills, etc right?" "Yeah, different but yeah, tools." "You've got a startup budget of $1m. Your truck's not in that, call that a fringe benefit. You hire, you fire, I just write checks and look for progress. You tell me how I can make your job easier. What's a fair salary?" "With a free truck and housing?" "Ignore those, just give me a number by tonight. And get some equipment in here. Hire an architect, keep him on retainer for remodels, have him do our house, the office part." "Speaking of your house, I forgot a minor problem. We can throw up drywall and paint and floor, but legally they're just 'rooms'. A bedroom needs a closet and an exit other than the door. They have neither." "How tough to do each?" "Closets will add a day and maybe a thousand. Exits would be involved and expensive. The real issue isn't doing it, it's just that when you sell you can't call them bedrooms." "I'm not selling. This is our first home, and if we can keep it out of the spotlight, we all can live here for 100 years with no questions. Back to these houses, I need to be in the shower soon, if everything worked out perfect, what's your vision for this space? Are the houses spaced good? Or too close? How big do you want to go?" "I'm guessing they're for close family or team use?" "Now you're getting me. Yeah, what do you see?" "Here, closer to your house, larger, maybe 4 bedroom, 2500 sq ft for a small to medium family. On down maybe 50 yds past that next one, 1800 sq ft 2 bedroom, for a couple with no kids. That way the kids aren't bothering them. Same thing the other direction. Or maybe a larger single down that way with no smaller. Depends on your team size." "It keeps growing but it's hitting a practical max. I think a 4 plus office down the other way and two 3's down here, sound good?" "I'll look at who's interested in what and I'll tell you. Let's head back?" "Yeah, roll. Get with Billy, he'll know. I'm going to need my bedrooms upstairs for family soon enough that I don't want everyone at home, no offense." "None taken, you have two boys, they'll want their own rooms soon. With Mary as a caregiver, she'll need a room. Billy's gonna grow up and out, maybe. We can all see this. We also see that Tommy needs to live close by, as do Clint & Co. You'll want landscapers when this all settles." "Buy a few trucks, trailers, and mowers. Hell, start a company. Give me a budget." "$250k?" We pulled up to the garage and I asked him to come with me a minute. When we got to the kitchen, Scott was there feeding Charlie. "Hon, get Leonard access to $1.25m today please." "OK, give me 15 minutes." "I'm headed to shower, see ya." "BILLY!" "Behind ya Greg." as he ran behind me. "You mind talking while I shower?" "Nah." "Good, take notes as I shower. Set up an LLC for Leonard for landscaping. Set up a Corp for him for construction. Tell Regent to double their fleet of SUVs and Sedans. Find any dealership group within 100 miles that might be willing to sell, groups with 5 or more locations. Get me a list of our real estate within 100 miles of Pittsburgh and a list of office buildings and strip malls on the market. Plan on doing the same for Chicago in the next few weeks. Change that, Chicago can wait until we're back from London. Make sure everyone can go to London, passports, shots, whatever we need. I've never traveled overseas. Anything I'm missing?" "You asked George about a helicopter?" "Get details." "We should look at vehicle needs here." "We'll be going down to clean out my dad's house this weekend, take drivers to collect two, no wait, just Donna's Suburban. My Dad's car is at Pittsburgh airport, we need to find it. He should have had a parking ticket for the lot in his effects. OH, get me some urns to choose from. I'll need two, matching." "We didn't get to Verizon, the team has grown, I'll make a list. And IT?" "Wait, we're remodeling the office/library first." "I'll still look into routers and find an IT guy." "Good, what else, we're on a roll here buddy." "You've got soap on your ass, get back in." "You're killin' me Smalls." "OMG I love that movie!!! Anything else we can talk about in the car, I gotta pee, then I have to get your parents stuff in the GLS." "GLS? No room for all of us buddy." "There's exactly room, you and Scott in the way back, Mr. and Mrs. W. in the back and me shotgun. Tommy's gonna want his baby back." "Go deal with it. I'll see you soon." After stepping back under the spray to solve the issue Billy pointed out, I got out and dried. I grabbed the new jeans and polo shirt Scott had laid out for me and pulled on my shoes. I had come up with several things since Billy left so I wanted to get out there quick before I forgot any of them. I rushed to the kitchen and rattled off my list to Billy and heard Scott telling Mary "Just take the list and go get what you need." "And how does she do that with all of us gone?" "Um, well, bah, OK, give us the list and we'll see if Tommy minds picking it up." "We'll stop on the way home. Tom doesn't have kids and has no clue." "We had no kids until two days ago, and we have no clue." "Damnit..." "Boys, all of us, me, you two, Billy, and Tom, will go tomorrow. Now get out of here!" "Thanks Aunt Mary." and we headed for the front door where we met Mom and Dad and all went out to the GLS. "Good afternoon Sirs, Ma'am, I'm Andrew. Still headed to Daniel's on Forbes?" "Yes Andrew, you'll be trading vehicles with Tommy, and heading to PIT from there." "Yes Sir, and thank you for breakfast." "No problem, we did mess with your plans and keep you hostage." I said as I climbed through the back seat to the 'way back' seat. "Billy, call Aunt Mary, I just remembered, we're heading to MD tomorrow to clean out my house. You have trucks lined up?" "Movers for Monday, we're just taking what you want and marking things to keep." "We need the keys to your house James. The movers will empty it and bring it to storage here so you can sort. And the keys to the Suburban, we'll take a driver. You have plans tomorrow Andrew?" "Yes Sir, sorry, it's my son's birthday party." "Good reason. Billy?" "Just hung up, they'll get a driver. Is it just the one?" "Dad?" "Just one for us. Your house?" "Dad's Mazda is at PIT. I have to go through his things for the ticket so we can get it." "Billy, google pilot uniforms and show me. Hon, we need to know cash position, I'm looking at doing some buying. Get me Matt's cash too please? I want to hit the ground running with his on July 1." "Economy's down Greg, are you sure you want to buy?" "Sharks buy when minnows sell James, we're buying, I want to expand auto farther out from Pittsburgh, expand Matt in Chicago, and expand Real Estate in both. There are a lot of bargains, we can employ people to remodel now while they're empty, and hit big on the next upswing." "Greg, did you tell Scott about or conversation last night?" "No Sir, that was confidential." "First marriage lesson son, nothing is kept from your mate, especially when you're in business with them. Fill him in tonight." "Yes Sir. And on the one issue, I need to learn control before I do that, if you follow?" "I do, and you're right, so make it a priority if you're thinking it's likely." "Yes Sir. Billy, call Leonard, I want to get the office done. Tell him to get with me tonight with an architect and I want plans tomorrow. We need a second crew on it while they're doing the basement." "Boys, your Dad and I will probably buy something in Florida, and if we do, we'll only be coming back here to move. You boys have shown you don't need us in your way. We're only a phone call away. And we'll visit a lot. We want to watch our grandchildren grow up." "Wow Mom. I figured you'd buy but not move, just vacation a lot. Are you sure?" "You need the room." "Solving it for now, and working on the solution for longer term already." "And I need you here for what I have to do Dad." "I'll be here for that Greg. You need control first." "OK, well then, I'll talk practical. Are you taking the truck and Suburban to FL?" "We'll leave them here, use them like you own them. I've got my eyes on a SL Roadster." "We are arriving Sir." "Tommy should be outside waiting for us. He'll walk you to the car. I'll help with the bags, Scott and Greg go on in so you have a few minutes with Clint & Co." As we were walking in my phone rang "Hey Jack... Oh yeah, that would be cool, thanks... It helps a lot man, really... Tell her to get what she wants... OK, we'll be late this evening...Thanks man, see you tonight." "Let me guess, Jack's watching the boys and Mary's going to spend money?" "Exactly, hey Clint, how'd it go?" "I love it, let's talk fast. I'm just doing a basic black or navy double-breasted jacket, with a double-breasted vest, white shirts, navy, black, and maroon ties... almost looking like Delta except high quality and tailored." "Sounds classy, no military dress stuff?" "Nope, I'm customer service, I need to look like a high-class waiter." "OK, how about you guys Mickey? Ted?" "Double breasted jackets with four rows of gold braid on the sleeves, single breasted vests, we'll almost always hang the jackets, vests, eh, depends on the mood. White shirts with epaulets with slip on four row boards. Standard captain for both of us, we're both qualified. Either navy or black. Black trouser stripe, and we'd like to get military style sweaters. We can send you pics but we need to jet, sorry, bad pun." "How many for each?" "We don't know how often we're working so that's your call. And if you don't object, there may be times we're in jeans and polo shirts flying, like after the ground crews here and Teterboro get used to us and we're just hopping there and back. We don't need to impress. Or going to London we can change in flight , if it's OK." "Like we've told everyone, when image matters, it matters, and when it doesn't, it doesn't. If we're trying to impress, we'd like you serious and professional. When it's just us, chill and enjoy. Now get to Florida, enjoy yourselves." We went in and Tyler greeted us "Greg I'm so sorry, are you doing OK?" "You know our nature, and this was new to me, so it was a blessing that I didn't have to explain things to him, or lie to him." "Well I suppose that's one positive view. Anyway, are you ready? Are you boys shy?" "Not at all, let's go get changed" So we spent an hour standing in our boxer briefs, then trousers, then different ones, and more different ones. Tommy and Billy came in the second time we were dropping our trousers and busted up laughing. Tommy wasn't shy but Billy wanted to change behind the screen which got him teased by the rest of us so much he gave up. Honestly, I think the issue was his tightie whities and I texted Mary to pick up some high end boxer briefs in his size. Everything fit so well there was no adjustment needed. I was feeling wild, so I left wearing a $2000 suit and old tennis shoes. Tommy had his dress shoes with his old suit so he left looking like the classy man he is. Billy and Scott were chickens and left wearing what they came in. For Clint & Co, we went with everything they said but I agreed that red ties would look like Delta, so we asked Tyler to find us a pattern and colors to work for now. I hand an idea forming. We also asked her to find sweaters like they wanted and got some for all three. I ordered three black and three navy, and we talked about something other than white shirts. I asked her to give us a set of gold shirts to see what it looked like with the navy. She said she had a source for high quality military saucer caps so we ordered 2 for each pilot. After I had paid her for these we headed to Freddy's and I was right, these shoes fit like a glove and were so comfortable I felt like I was barefoot. Tommy got everything loaded as I paid Freddy and drove us over to Mike's office. Last week we met in his old office, this new one was on the first floor from the top, in a building right next to JP Morgan bank, so it was handy for him and David to commute. As soon as we walked in the receptionist stood and led us in to his office. The man behind the desk was in his early twenties and looked like he should still be in law school. "Nice to see you Mike, I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather." "Thanks Greg" he said with a grin "but he was old so we expected it. I'm sincerely sorry about your Dad. I was stunned. I don't mean to be callous but there is a silver lining, you won't have to tell him the truth." "That is true Mike, and I've focused on that. Well, that and my sons. So we'll be brief, like Billy" which caused Billy to turn blood red "What's the status of the holding company with Matt and Jack? The status of the Management company in LA? The LLC and corporation for Leonard's work, and the status of Dad's will. Did I forget anything?" "Name change, Marriage, and adoption." "I thought they were a done deal?" "I've held everything until we could talk. You signed the application for the first, you got a license to do the second and you signed the application for the third." "Well then, let's break it down. Name change?" "You want the easy answer?" "Always" "Get married, you can take your spouse's name and save the hassle of going through the courts. And before you say fake it, you have your name out there far too many places to just fake it. It's just as simple to go say 'I do', so go say it." "Do we have a time limit?" "60 days from the date of the license." "OK, guess we have to plan a wedding. And the adoption?" "Has to go through the courts and CPS. If I file it, expect a call next week about a home inspection. After that a court hearing and the judge can sign it or give you guardianship and you'll have a 6 months wait." "Damnit can't we do anything?" "I've heard you're considering changing him?" "Yes, does that change things?" "Make up your mind soon enough and we can go in the system and erase him. He was a `John Doe in the system until now, he never existed. When puberty hits, we create documents matching his age and list him as your son. Vampire parents don't do birth certificates until puberty then we backdate things. That's also the current status of David Gregory Fowler Warnick. There was no paperwork in any system under his old name." I looked at Scott and I could read it in his eyes. He wanted the bond that came with blood and we both knew if we watched him grow up and die while we lived on another century, we'd be miserable. "If we pull him from the system, erase him, what about the will?" "The will doesn't list anyone specific, just potential. It's common with young couples or guys that are messing around a lot. There's been no mention of him to any law office or the courts. You go in with the death certificate, swear that to your knowledge you are an only child, no one contests it and you're done." Deep breath..."OK, so I go into court and perjurer myself, then what?" "If you can't lie then can walk the tightrope, change him before you go to court, then when you say there are no other living children..." "I'd rather just outright lie, that line makes even me want to dig for more info. And we create a paper trail for him in 7 years?" "Yes, we just fabricate all that. His fake ID doesn't matter, he'll be your son as a vampire so a name is just a paper." "I can't follow this Mike, I'm sorry it's just so twisted." "I'm sorry Greg, but situations like this are just so rare we're running blind here, whatever we do will work, you just have to decide what to do." "So if we wipe him, until we remake him, I can't create trusts or anything in a name he doesn't have yet?" "No, you create a phantom trust, similar to how your dad's will listed phantom children. You create it for 'any children you may have' and leave it flexible to name them in the future." "How the he... and all vampires do this, all the time?" "Yup, for centuries, but it was easier before record keeping got so cross referenced and computerized. We still can handle it." "Can I have a minute to make a call?" "Yeah, you guys want a Coke Zero?" "Yes, please?" as I dialed "Dad, I need advice!" and I spelled it out for him. 'You want me to be nice, or blunt?' "Blunt." 'Clean the records and change him. If you adopt and they drag their feet they might notice Davie's growth, they'll certainly question him being there. If you change Charlie before or during the adoption you've got the same issue. If you push the adoption to have the legal paperwork, you're deciding to not change him until it's done. That could be a year.' "Shit, OK, thanks Dad. I'll call you tonight." 'Hold on, if you erase him, you need to get George to erase his mother. She's dead, she can die a Jane Doe and no one will know.' "Wow." 'Greg, you can decide about millions of dollars in seconds. Take your heart out of this and be purely logical, you'll know the answers right away. Now go solve your problem.' He was right. I was thinking with my emotions, I needed to just think and handle it. Mike came in and asked "You OK?" "Yeah, if we erase him, we just change him and raise him and deal with it when it comes, right?" "Right." "We're going to London next week, can you fix it?" "Passports are a piece of cake, how many do you need?" "You scare me Mike. OK, erase him. I'll work on my control and do it within the week. I'll make it my number one priority. Anything else is on hold until I call you that it's done. Can we delay the estate? Leave the house sitting?" "Yeah, I can send people in and get anything you want, then leave it sit until you can go down. Or just leave it sit." "I'm assuming Davie doesn't exist either then, I'll check with George and let you know." "Go get your control Greg, if you need help, call me." And we left, I realized I have nothing else to do until I have the control over myself so I can kill my son without killing him. "Let's go home. I know you have a list Billy, but cancel anything you can cancel. Or handle it yourself. You know what I need in the office and library, make me an office and meeting room/library. I can't even remember what else there is. Is there anything that can't wait?" "I don't think so Greg, I'll look and we can talk." So Tommy drove us home. I leaned into Scott and as he held me, I cried. I didn't cry when it was suggested. I didn't cry when we discussed it, but now, when it was decided, I cried. Mike was already hard at work erasing my brother, no, my son. I cried for his lost innocence and I cried for his lost father. And if I was honest, I cried because I was terrified that I would mess this up and actually kill him.
