I'm thinking my announcement of `nearing the end' was premature. I already have a dozen more chapters and I'm not ready to wrap this up yet, so let's just keep on and see where it goes. I'm working on the companion story, and the `follow up' as I called it may end up being just another 70 in this storyline, I really don't know yet. Sorry!!!

The sex isn't a major part of it, nor is it graphic. If you're looking for masturbation fodder, look elsewhere. There will be many slow times in this story, just like there are in life. Other times, things will fly at you too fast. There will be boring days, and exciting days. It's just how it's flowing.

Chapter 54

Billy and I jumped up and rushed to our bedroom to find Bea on our bed with Scott holding her tight. Mary and Mom were there with her, calmly talking her through a contraction. Our pups came running in next, asking what was going on, and when they saw it, the younger ones started to dance as the older ones tried to lead them away. I asked Josh to go let everyone in the house know that no one was dying and apologize for any future screams, as I knew there might be several hours of this.

Billy and I joined Scott at Bea's side, and the three of us held her hands and kissed her as her pain went away and she relaxed.

"You're doing fine honey. That last one was a big one, a few more like that and you can push." Mary said as she looked up from between Bea's legs.

"How long has this been going on and why didn't someone tell us sooner?" I asked no one in particular.

"I decided you needed to keep working. I'm fine. Women have been having babies for centuries, and I didn't need you here yet. I'm happy you are, but you could have still been working. This is going to be several more hours." Bea said, sounding exhausted.

Scott looked at us sheepishly, then nodded towards Bea and said "She made me promise to keep it quiet."

Billy laughed and said "Well, she didn't keep it very quiet that last time." Bea punched his arm and he faked being hurt.

"Well we're here now, and we're here until you're through this. Anything at all we can do to help, let us know." I said, looking from Bea to Mom and Mary.

"Scotty, since Greg and Billy are here now, why don't you run and get some human blood warmed up, just in case. Even if she doesn't need it, it's nice to have it ready." Mom said as Bea started tensing for another contraction.

Scott didn't react to Mom calling him Scotty, just ran to the kitchen and came back a minute later with a tray of warm mugs. Bea was struggling to keep quiet as the pain from the contraction increased. Finally she couldn't hold it, and let out another scream that I knew Marcus could hear in Boston.

Another half hour of intense contractions every minute, and Mary told Bea she could push on the next one. Five minutes after that, at 12:33am, Camilla Lucille Warnick took her first breath. Mary handed her to Billy and massaged Bea's belly as Scott gave her a cup of blood. She got a few minutes rest before the next contraction hit her, and at 12:42am, Valerie Renee joined her sister. Both girls were healthy and hungry, and Bea was doing fine, so Mom laid one at each breast and they finally started to suck. I leaned down and gently kissed Bea, then Scott and Billy kissed her as we all stared in awe at the two little vampires in her arms.

Mom and Mary were cleaning Bea and the girls as Scott, Billy and I went to tell everyone the news. Our pups all wanted to come meet their sisters, so we led them in and let them see them for just a moment, then made the younger ones get to bed. Scott took Valerie and stabbed his finger with a fang, then slipped the finger in her mouth, while Billy did the same with Camilla. I wrapped my arms around Bea and held her as she fell asleep. When the girls fell asleep, they were laid in their cradles and Billy and Scott joined us and we all slept.

The girls woke us a few hours later, and I got up and gave them to Bea so she could breastfeed them. When they were done with that, Billy and I each stabbed a finger and fed one of the girls. We wanted both girls to feed from all of us, so the next feeding Scott and Bea would blood feed them.

When Billy and I left at 5:30 to meet the London Alphas, we were tired, but happy. We both napped in the GLS as Tommy drove us to the office and were surprised to find Mike in his office, waiting for us.

"Good morning Alpha. No offense, but you two look like shit!" Mike said as he looked at us.

"Yeah, but I feel incredible. Bea had the twins last night, just after midnight. She's doing fine, and the girls are beautiful." I said with a smile.

Mike jumped up and hugged us both, then said "I'll go warm up some blood for you. It'll wake you up." He soon returned with two cups of fresh human blood. He was right, after drinking it, I felt like a new man, er vampire.

"Thanks Mike." I said, lifting the cup. Then I asked "Was their plane on time?"

"Yes Sir. They're in a Regent sedan, on their way here now. I have the small conference room set up with breakfast, coffee, and several bloods. I didn't know if you wanted me there to answer any legal questions they might have, so I came in early."

"You can join us, but there really isn't anything to negotiate from a legal aspect. Either they want to be Serving Alphas or not. I'm not eager to take over their packs, but they were all originally in Dad's pack, a few centuries ago, so I'm willing to do that, if they want. They've done fine on their own this long, they really have no reason to serve." I said.

Billy said "That might be true, but they've come a long way to say no thanks. If that's the case, they could have simply said so in an email. I'm thinking they see the changes that are coming, and want to be associated with you in more than business."

I heard the elevator doors open, so I stood and said "Well, we'll know soon enough." And I led Billy and Mike out to greet Piers, Bertram, and Maxen as they entered the reception area.

"Good morning gentlemen. I hope you'll forgive Billy and I, but our mate had twins last night, and we're working on about as much sleep as you probably got on the plane." I said as we shook hands.

All three smiled and offered their congratulations, then Piers took the lead, as he had in London. "And we hope you'll forgive our asking to meet you at such an early hour Sire. We wanted this out of the way so we could get some rest before your meeting this afternoon."

I was curious at his choice of wording, but didn't want to assume, so I said "Mike has breakfast in the conference room, if you'll follow me, we can eat while we have our discussion."

They followed me in, and after we had all gotten our plates, we sat around the table. Everyone was hungry, so we all ate a bit as they asked about the girls and Bea. Billy and I took turns telling them how last night went and they shared a bit about the birth of their pups. After we all had eaten, Piers again spoke for the group.

"Sire, I'll not play games, and forgive me if I offend by asking this first question, but is Mike privy to every detail of your pack and personal life? By that I mean, can I speak freely in front of him, holding nothing back?"

"Anything you can discuss with me, you can say in front of Mike or Billy. I appreciate your asking, but I trust them both with my life."

"Understood Sire, then I'll be direct. We are not new Alphas, nor are we ignorant of what goes on in the world around us. We know of your changing, and we know of your, I think the modern term is polyamorous mating. Those facts alone led us to believe you're the one spoken of in the prophecy. Even if you're not, we've heard of what you're doing for vampires here in Pittsburgh, and we understand it is your intent to do the same for all vampires in your pack, anywhere in the world. For this last reason alone, we would... Well, as this is rather official, I'll speak only for myself."

He stood, and dropped to a knee "Sire, I offer myself as a Serving Alpha, asking to retain my pack, and manage it as part of yours. I offer all of my pack and personal financial holdings for your management, for the good of the pack in general." When he finished, he turned his head, offering his neck to me in submission.

Piers stayed still and silent, as Bertram and Maxen each stood and did the same. When they were all three on a knee with their necks exposed, I spoke "I accept your service, as Alpha of the Warnick pack, as Prince of the Council, and as the future King." As I said this last part, they all flinched, but kept their necks exposed.

"Stand, gentlemen. I'm not one for taking the blood of my Serving Alphas without cause. Your oaths of loyalty are enough for me until you prove me wrong. And yes, as far as I know, I'm the one spoken of in the prophecy. I trust you'll keep that held safely quiet, as I don't feel ready to assume that role. As you'll find at our meeting this afternoon, I'm still adjusting to the size of my pack. Once I get those that I serve cared for, I'll put more effort into serving more."

They all stood and waited. I smiled and pointed at the chairs, indicating they should sit. "Please understand, I'm rarely formal. Relax, and call me Greg. Unless you're in trouble, you don't need to call me Alpha, or Prince, and certainly not Sire. I don't know you three very well, and I hope to change that in the near future, but for now, are any of you changelings?"

Bertram spoke up "I am Sire, er, Greg. My wife's father changed me in 1782, then sent me to the colonies... er, forgive me, to help put down the rebellion. King George loved having vampires in his armies, as we're so hard to kill. Obviously, it didn't help, or you'd be singing `God Save the Queen'."

I laughed "Well, no hard feelings about that. Have you trained with Lucien?"

"No Sire, I'm a changeling, but I have no magic. My father's mate had it though. He told me she was a powerful witch, but she was killed long before my time, in Pendle." My face must have shown my confusion, because he added "In 1612 Sire, the Pendle Hill witches."

"My knowledge of history is rather lacking, I'm sorry. I'll have to look it up sometime. If any of you have more you need to add, please speak up. Otherwise, I hope you'll take some time to relax before our meeting. We have to get back to the house to greet my brother-in-law from Germany, and several other Alphas before our meeting this afternoon."

Piers took his role as spokesman again, and said "We'll head to our rooms for now Sir, er, Greg. We look forward to hearing what you have to say this afternoon, and we hope you'll be back in London. Our Deltas are all anxious to meet you."

"I'll make the effort, but no promises. As you'll see this afternoon, my pack is larger than I can even imagine, and you three seem to have things well in hand, as do several others. Some need my attention, as my father was quite negligent in his duties as Alpha."

"Yes, we were sorry to hear of his loss. Of course, we'll be at the service tomorrow, to pay our respects."

"I'll pass that on to him when I see him." I said. Their shocked faces told me what I wanted to know, so I went on. "Understand that, while I'm focusing on those in my pack right now, I'm also setting up the changes in the Council for things to come. Not everything is as it seems, and I'll leave it at that, for now."

I stood, and they all stood with me. We exchanged handshakes and we rode the elevator down and saw them to their car. Billy and I got in the GLS and took another short nap while Tommy drove us home.

When we pulled in, Lorenz and Eckhart were getting out of a Regent sedan. Gunther and Else were standing on the other side, with Sophia holding her mother's hand. Billy and I got out and greeted them with hugs, then Billy led them inside so Else and Gunther could see their daughter and grand-daughters. I stayed to greet Lenz and Matthias from Switzerland, and Karl from Frankfurt. I showed them inside, and after introducing them to Andrew and Amie, asked them to enjoy breakfast while I went to visit with my in-laws.

In our room I found Else holding Val and Gunther holding Millie while Lorenz and Eckhart sat talking with Bea and Scott. Billy was watching our in-laws, seeming like he was ready to jump in and save the girls if they somehow jumped from their grandparent's arms. When Lorenz asked his sister which of us was the father, his mother gave him a disapproving glare, so I thought I'd protect him.

"We don't know, Lorenz, and we never plan to find out. Any of us could be, and all of us are their fathers. I'm Dad, Scott is Pop, Billy is Papa, and Bea, of course, is Mom. That's what all of our pups call us, and the girls will do the same."

"The girls make six, right?" Gunther asked.

I looked at Bea "How often have you talked to your parents?"

She laughed and said "Obviously not often enough." Then she turned to her parents and said "The girls make 12. Scott and Greg already had Brandon, Chipper, Charlie and Davie, you met them. Sam, an Alpha in the pack, asked Greg to change his mate, Tanya. Then Greg found Josh and hired him for the business, and we changed him. Next, two human boys stumbled into the pack, and Morgan died to save Greg's life. Brandon fed him and changed him, but he's our son. Derrick's still human, until tomorrow night. We just got Jamie and Jeremy, from Maine, yesterday, and that same morning Derrick's human brother showed up and we changed him. Oh wait, Eric makes it 13."

Bea then turned to her brother "And what about you, little brother? Do you have a pup on the way yet?"

Lorenz blushed and looked down, then looked at his parents "We haven't told you yet, we just found out last week. Eckart's sister is carrying my pup for us. We figured, that way, it would have both of our DNA, kinda."

The room erupted in congratulations and Else was in tears as she said "I'm only 300, I'm too young to be a grandmother of so many!"
