This story started out of boredom, and has now taken on a life of its own. A companion story can be found at https://www.nifty.org/nifty/bisexual/adult-youth/twin-trials/ Both stories will stand independent, but in the future, there will be a follow up that combines them, I think...

I asked if I was rushing things because I felt like I was short-cutting solutions to things, rushing to an end. The feedback I got included a few intuitive fans actually predicting my short-cuts. I had written up to a chapter 65, but now that I look at things, I'm re-writing a lot of what's to come. I owe you a much better story than just taking the fast easy way out. I THINK I have some of the new worked out in my mind, we'll see. For now, this might be the last chapter for a week or two while I rework things. I'd rather have you yelling for me to get something written than telling me that the last few chapters have sucked.

Your feedback REALLY means a lot to me, as I've just let you know, so keep it coming to Jst4fun2nyt@gmail.com.

The sex isn't a major part of it, nor is it graphic. If you're looking for masturbation fodder, look elsewhere. There will be many slow times in this story, just like there are in life. Other times, things will fly at you too fast. There will be boring days, and exciting days. It's just how it's flowing.

Chapter 56

Reinhardt, George, Sam, Hasim, and Dimas walked into my office 5 minutes later. I stood to greet them and had just gotten to the front of my desk when they all fell to a knee, offering their necks. I froze in shock.

"I know how you all feel, but will someone please tell me what the fuck is going on?" I almost shouted.

George looked up in surprise. I don't think he had ever heard me curse, and it had the desired effect. He said "Sire, if I may explain?"

"Yes, for the love of..." I stopped and took a deep breath. "First, will all of you please take a seat so we can talk? I don't need more stress today. My pack just increased by... I don't know by how many, but please, explain what you're doing here and what's so important?"

Billy pulled some extra chairs over and the princes sat. I returned to my seat behind the desk, then George started "We think we can prevent a war, if you'll allow us Sire?"

I just stared at him, so he went on "Since your ascent to the Council, we all have been receiving calls from Alphas around the world asking if you were the one. We've tried to keep it quiet, but we can't outright lie to them, so we've been evasive. Lately, the callers are convinced you are the coming King."

Reinhardt picked up "I am Super Alpha for most of western Europe, and all of my Serving Alphas have asked me to commit my, and their, support to you Sire."

Dimas said "Forgive me for not having come to meet you until today, Sire, but I too have received calls. Hundreds of them. I'm here today to tell you that all of South America wants to support you."

Hasim spoke next, saying "The entire middle east as well as Africa, Sire. Alphas from Jerusalem to Cairo to Bagdad to Cape Town have called me to say they support you, and all have asked me to represent them when I speak to you."

Sam said "Every pack from Florida to Atlanta to Phoenix has told me the same thing Sire. And just so I can steal his thunder, George is going to add packs from San Diego to Seattle to Omaha."

My head was spinning. How could this many Alphas be expecting me to lead them? How could I say no? What were these princes saying? I looked to George, and my confusion must have shown.

"Sire, sorry, Greg, we are here telling you, no... we are here asking you to allow us to serve you Sire. We are here, speaking for roughly half of the vampires in the world, asking you to accept us as... well, there is no proper title really, so I'll call it Serving Alphas."

"And how does that prevent a war, George? Won't this provoke a war? Won't Igor feel backed into a corner?"

My office door opened, and Hiroki Honda walked in, looking like the old man he was when I first met him. The room fell silent, as we had kept his support of me a secret. George and Reinhardt stood to say something when Hiroki cut them off.

Kneeling in front of my desk, he bowed his head and said "Forgive me Sire. Prince Chao phoned me as I was eating and told me I needed to come to you this instant with a message. He would be here himself, but he is caring for our mutual friend."

I looked at Hiroki, kneeling in submission in front of me, then at the stunned faces of George, Sam, Hasim, and the others. It was too late to try to keep things a secret, so I said "Hiroki, my friend, please stand. What is the message? Is my father well?"

Every head snapped to stare at me, and I saw a slight grin on George's face when I mentioned my father. All eyes turned back to Hiroki as he said.

"He is safe and well, Sire. Yuan saw this meeting, and called me. I am to say that you have the vampires of Asia, if you will have us Sire. I am speaking for Prince Chao and myself in this, as well as every Alpha from Hawaii to Istanbul. Australia as well."

The other princes looked at me in confusion, then back to Hiroki, then there was pandemonium as they all spoke at the same time...

George "What do you mean Yuan saw this meeting?"

Hasim "Why is he calling you Sire?"

Reinhardt "Your father is alive?"

Dimas "You're friends with Honda and Yuan?"

Sam "Well I'll be damned..."

I decided it was time to try on a little of the King, so I let my eyes change to their royal purple, added my beast to my voice, and said "Quiet!"

All eyes turned to me, and when they saw my eyes, they all lowered their gaze and fell silent.

"Thank you. I'll try to answer all your questions, then we need to figure this out. First, yes, my father is alive. Igor didn't kill him, nor did he kill Kevin. They were not ambushed by a gang, they were ambushed by me. I killed Kevin, and I was prepared to kill my father. I discovered the plot, by Kevin, to give Igor information about me, and I caught him trying to kill James. I drained Kevin, got his secrets, and killed him. I fed from my father, found him innocent, and he has been living with Prince Chao since shortly after that incident."

"Prince Chao, or Prince Yuan as you incorrectly call him, is a changeling, and is the author of the prophecy. I've seen his vision of me, as King, and he is sworn to my service, as is Hiroki, who is also a changeling. Hiroki, please remove your disguise."

He waved his hands in front of himself, and the 20 year old that had visited me in Hawaii stood before us. The room remained silent, so I went on.

"He is calling me Sire for the same reasons you gentlemen do. He considers me his King, the same as you. I had my doubts about things until I fed from Yuan and saw the prophecy for myself. Now I need advice on what to do about all of this, so back to my question. How will all the vampires supporting me prevent a war?"

Everyone was afraid to speak, so I looked at George. In my new world, he was my oldest friend, I trusted him, and he knew it. He cleared his throat and spoke "It may not, Sire. Our hope is that Igor will see that he is outnumbered, and his only hope of retaining any power will be to accept your role as King, allowing him to keep his pack. He may be foolish enough to try to fight, but he hasn't lived this long by making unwise decisions."

"Igor gave the order that my father was to be fed from to obtain information, then killed. Igor is a dead man. That is not up for discussion." I said, in a voice that made them all nervous.

"Be that as it may, Sire, his pack can't support him once this information gets out. You'll have to take it over and do what you can to keep the peace." Hasim said softly.

I looked each of them in the eye, then said "So the Council is here today, saying it is time to disband the Council?"

Reinhardt said "If we may suggest, Sire? Don't disband it, reorganize it. All Alphas will likely accept a new Council, lead by you, with members who serve as... for lack of a better way of putting it, I'll use titles we understand from the current system. Princes who serve you, with Serving Alphas under them, with Alphas under them, with Deltas, and so on, Sire."

"And I suppose you all would like to retain the title of Prince?"

George spoke up "Greg, you told me when we first met that we are friends, so I'm speaking as your friend now. Not one of us is a Prince because we want the power. As Alphas, most of us have lost our focus and allowed the business issues to overtake us. You asked me if I wanted to retire completely. Do you remember what I said?"

"Yes George. You said you were tired of the business side of things, but you would be happy to serve in any other way."

"Exactly. When you started doing the right things for your pack, I realized that I had failed mine. Maybe not to the extreme that James had, but my business was more important to me than my pack. You woke me up, and I'd welcome the chance to atone for that by serving my pack, in the way you've shown me I should have. I'm guessing we all feel the same, but I can only speak for myself." He stopped, stood and knelt in front of me. "I will serve in whatever capacity you decide, Sire. As a Prince, a Super Alpha, a Serving Alpha, or even a Delta. I need to serve my pack, Sire. Please allow me to, once again, do that with honor."

All of them stood, knelt, and said "As will I, Sire."

I stood and walked around to the front of my desk to stand in front of them. I reached down and pulled George to his feet. "I have trusted you with my life, George." I looked at the rest of them and said "I have trusted you all with my life, and the lives of my pups. I now ask that you help me sort out the future of our world. Please, can we drop the Sire and just talk? I need friends, not servants. I need Princes, and I know a few I trust."

I turned around and found Billy kneeling at my feet. He looked up at me and said "Sire, forgive me, but I'm your Beta for the pack. I think I understand things now, and I ask that you allow me to remain Beta for your pack, as it was a few minutes ago. Joshua is your Crown Prince, and he should serve with you with these men."

I pulled Billy to his feet and pulled him into a tight hug. I held him for a moment, then said "Joshua is not, and never will be, my Beta. He's the Crown Prince, and leads the Council of Nine. You are my right hand, and I need you at my side, whatever my role. The way I see things, your job will actually be easier, if you trust me?"

"Since the moment we met."

"Good, then stick with me, please?"

He smiled and nodded so I turned to the princes "So what do you advise your King to do now?"

Billy stepped to the side and called Joshua to meet us in the small conference room. When he joined us, Joshua sat by my side at the table, while Billy stood behind me. We spent the next hour discussing when, and how, to announce the changes to the Council, and how to handle things after the announcement. The biggest question on everyone's mind was how Igor would react, and how we would handle the possible reactions.

It was decided that I should have my meeting with the Serving Alphas, and quietly insert some changes in structure, if they would accept them. Their reactions would help us judge the reaction of the rest of the world. The princes were confident, based on their conversations with Alphas around the world, that our plans would be accepted.

We were still talking when Billy tapped me on the shoulder and quietly told me that we were late. I nodded, and asked everyone in the room to come listen to our meeting. We stood, and headed for the large conference room to meet the 36 Serving Alphas, waiting patiently to hear what I had to say.
