Date: Thu, 1 Sep 2022 18:10:07 -0400 From: James Karvonen Subject: Song of the the Lonesome Steel Rails -20 20. The bright light from the rising sun shined through the window, the rays casting on Bobby who was was sound asleep lying next to his new traveling companion Quack. Bobby stirred, his eyes fluttering open. Though he didn't want to get up, he knew that he had to because once again he and Quack, together would be riding the rails on what many would consider an almost impossible cross country journey. Today they would be leaving the comfort and luxury of the Robert E. Lee Hotel too resume their cross country journey. Quack was heading to El Paso Texas to look for work at a large ranch whereas he was heading all the way to California with hopes of once again seeing his father who he hadn't seen in more then three years. Would his father even recognize him after all this time, Bobby could not help but to wonder. What time was it? Bobby asked himself. Quack stirred besides him, then rolled over onto his side so that he was now facing him. As Bobby laid there on his back with the blanket and sheet that he was dsleeping under covering his waist, Quack's right hand slid over above him then dropped palm first down onto his bare chest. Feeling the warmth of the palm of Quacks hand on the center of his chest, he heard Quack softly say, "I can feel your heartbeat Little Chooch. Its beating pretty fast." "Good morning." Bobby whispered. He laid there not moving enjoying the attention that Quack was now giving him. "Morning. You ready to hit the road today?" Quack whispered. The palm of his hand was now moving over Bobby's bare chest in a slow circular motion. He felt a slight tingle in his nipples as Quacks the palm of Quacks hand and fingertips gently glided over twin buds. "I guess, but if I had my druthers I wish that we could stay here. No telling when when we would have the money again to spend the night in luxury like this." "Yeah I know, but don't forget, you were the one that sent just about all of your money home, not that I can blame you. If I had a family and was in the same situation that you were in, I probably would have done the same thing." "Helping my family survive through these hard times is more important to me then anything else." Bobby said. "I agree with you one hundred percent." Quack agreed. He slowly slid the palm of his hand down over the center of Bobby's chest pausing momentarily over Bobby's belly button. "Your skin is so and smooth." Quack whispered, then much to Bobby's surprise, Quack pushed himself up a little, leaned over then kissed him softly on his lips. For a brief second Bobby didn't know what to do. The only one who had kissed him directly on his lips had been Kim. And Kim was a girl, not a teenage boy. Lifting up a little, Quack softly asked, "Did you like that?" "I don't know." Bobby answered truthfully. "I'm going to do it again, this time kiss me back okay." Before Bobby could answered, Quack lowered his mouth back down over him to kiss him again. When his tender kiss lingered for a few moments, Bobby found himself returning Quacks kiss. It was then that he felt a sudden bolt of electricity rapidly surging within his loins causing his flaccid penis to slowly lengthen. As their kiss lingered, the more he thought about it, the more he liked it. Within seconds he had become rock hard. Quack raised his mouth, a thin thread of spittle snapping wetly between them. It was then that Quack slowly slid the palm of his hand down from Bobby's belly button down over the plane of his lower stomach to his crotch. Finding Bobbys erect penis he closed his hand around the entire length to make a fist around the slender 4" inch shaft then gently squeezed it. "You did like it, didn't you?" Quack pointed out. Bobby gasped, not expecting this, not that be was complaining. If the truth were to be known, he really did like what Quack was doing to him. He felt Quack giving his now slightly throbbing penis another gentle squeeze. Quacks enclosed fist slid upwards around the length of Bobby's slender shaft over the ultra-sensitive acorn shape head, smearing the drop of slippery pre-cum that was now bubbling out of the tip over and around the head before finally releasing him. "Let's see if I can take care of that little problem of yours that I didnt mean to created for you." Bobby heard Quack say. Before Bobby could say anything Quack snatched the blanket and sheet yanking them down passed his knees to expose his erection. His throbbing length stood straight up proudly like a soldier standing at attention. Quack quickly repositioned himself on his knees besides Bobby then went down on him taking Bobbys entire length into his mouth. Pursing his lips tightly around him Quack started sucking on Bobby's erection hard and diligently sliding his tightly pursed lips up and down from the plump mushroom shaped head to his hairless pubic mound. Within seconds Quack had Bobby moaning and squirming, his back arching, his muscles tightening. "Oh shit, oh God, " Bobby cried out in what could only be described as undeniable escasy. Hearing Bobby crying out like he was doing, inspired Quack to start sucking on his cock even longer and even harder to the point that his cheeks were concaving in and out at a rapid pace. "Aaaahhhhh!" Bobby cried out quickly exploding into an intense almost gut wrenching orgasm. This time Bobby's small amount of hot thinnish boy cum actually jetted out in hot rapid spurts against the back of Quack's throat causing him to instinctively swallow. Quack kept sucking and swallowing until Bobby was totally spent. Letting out one last cry, Bobby collapsed back down on the mattress in gasping for breath in sexual bliss. Lifting off of Bobby's now flaccid cock, Quack belched, then smiling said. "You gave me a nice little mouthful Little Chooch." It took a few minutes for Bobby to finally regain his composure. "I, I wasn't expecting you to do something like that to me this early in the morning." "Well get use to it my friend. When you're with me expect the unexpected to happen when you least expect it." Quack grinned feeling proud of himself for bringing Bobby off unexpectantly like he had just done. With that having been said, Quack eased out of bed leaving Bobby still lying on the mattress somewhat confused, but happy. He walked naked into the bathroom. Bobby laid there for another minute or two his flaccid penis still tingling pleasantly with its warm afterglow. Finally he was able to will himself to move. Slowly he eased out of the bed still somewhat unsure whether or not he was ready to start off this day. He knew right away that it was going to be a long one especially when they started riding the rails a little later that afternoon. He had no earthly idea how far they would get later on this evening or where they would be sleeping tonight. Would they be sleeping under the stars, or in a box car of a slow moving train? That question remained to be seen. He waited for Quack to get out of the bathroom. After what Quack had just done to him he was surprised that Quack hadn't asked him to return the favor. A few minutes later Quack walked out of the bathroom. Man did I get a load off my mind that time. I feel one hundred percent better now." Quack smiled. "I think that I'm going to need to do the same thing that you just did." Bobby said, walking into the bathroom. "How about we stop at the beanery after we leave here and eat a good breakfast before hitting the road!" Quack called out. "I'm all for that." Bobby answered. He made his way to the toilet then sat down on top of the seat. There were a lot of things surging through Bobby's mind. He was mainly wondering how long it would take to reach California. He was hoping that it would maybe take only a week or two, but that all depended on how frequently the trains that they hoped to hop ran and if he and Quack were able to stay out of trouble. It been more then a month now since he and Bean had escaped from Pine Island. After all that time, he had just only made it through Washington D.C. He was only in the State of Virginia, a disants of only about two hundred miles or so. He had a long way to go and judging from his past experience he knew that this journey that he was now undertaking wasn't going to be easy. In fact it would probably get worse before it would get any better. He finished what he had to do then stood up and flushed the toilet. He walked over to the sink to wash his hands. Glancing at his reflection in the mirror above the sink, at first he didn't recognize himself. He looked a little older and more mature now then he had been which told him that thus far this journey was definately taking a toll on him and in reality, he had just started. When he finished washing his hands and face, and getting the sleep out of his eyes, Bobby walked back into the bedroom. He was surprised to see that Quack was already dressed. "Come soon slowpoke, we have a train to catch after breakfast." Quack exclaimed. "I know, I know." Bobby said. He walked over to his new backpack and opened it up and after rummaging around for few seconds, pulled out one of the sets of new clothes that he had just purchased the previous day at the Army-Navy store. Closing the backpack started to. Watching him Quack chuckled then jokingly said, "You sure make a lot of noise for a little boy when get ready to cum." "I'm not a little boy! I'm twelve years old and talk about making noise. I heard you hollering last night when I was about to bring you off. Oh God! I'm about to cum! I'm about to cum!" Bobby mimicked. "Just kidding, don't get so hot with me." Quack smiled. Looking at Quack Bobby smiled back. He walked over to the bed, picked up one of the large pillows and hit him with it. Laughing Quack grabbed a pillow also to defend himself. For the next few minutes they had an all out pillow fight, stopping only when one of the pillows busted open causing feathers to fly all over the place. Panting Quack said, "We better get out of here before the cleaning lady comes in." "Your right about that." Bobby said. He quickly finished dressing. About ten minutes later they left the room carrying all their belongings with them. Walking down to the Hotel lobby Quack turned in the key, then together Bobby and Quack left the Robert E. Lee Hotel. They walked down then busy cobblestone street to the beanery where they found a booth. Taking off their backpacks and laying down their bed rolls so they would be more comfortable, they sat down opposite of each other to eat their last breakfast before hitting the road. It was around 10:00 in the morning when they crawled down an embankment reaching the raioroad. They were about a quarter of a mile south from the Alexandria Union Station. The area that they were in was semi-industrial with several sidings on each side of the three track mainline that served the various industries located south of the city of Alexandria. A Southern Railroad passenger train pulled by a 4-6-2 light Pacific steamed by heading north toward Washington D.C. The train was slowing down to make a stop at the Alexandria Union Station just to the north of them. Bobby and Quack continued to walk. They were in a place now where it would be virtually impossible to hop a freight train in broad daylight. The area was flat and smoky from the numerous industries that the railroad served located around them. The two boys also had to be careful because on numerous occasions they felt that they were being watched. It was highly unusual to see two boys walking south along the busy railroad tracks with army backpacks on their backs and carrying bedrolls beneath their arms. Just that fact alone made them stick out like a sore thumb. The industrial areas just south of Alexandria, Virginia seemed to go on for miles. Several trains both freight and passenger trains heading both north and south passed them on the busy mainline as they were walking along the tracks. It was around 3:00 when they came to railroad yard that was much smaller then the huge Potomac yard that they were in the day before. On one of the side tracks just off of the railroad, they noticed a red wooden caboose of a southbound freight train that wasn't moving. It was just sitting there on a siding. Apparently that train was getting ready to leave as evidence by the two brightly lit kerosine lanterns attached to both sides of the back of the caboose. Remembering the maps in the page of the Official Guide that the tower operator at MQ tower had given to him, Bobby remembered seeing the Southern Railroad. The Southern railroad was the main railroad that they would have to ride that would take them south all the way to We Orleans. At New Orleans they would have to ride the Southern Pacific Railroad that would take them to both El Paso and Bakersfield, California. Since that train wasn't moving, Bobby nudged Quack then said, We need to hop that freight train if we're going to get to where we are going." "That's going to be a real challenge trying to hop that train in broad daylight." Quack frowned. "We got to do it Quack. No telling when another opportunity like this would come around." "I'm with you all the way. Do you see anyone in the caboose? "Not that I could tell." I'm not sure how we're going to do this but let's give it a try." Quack decided. "Follow me." Bobby followed Quack across the railroad tracks, then around the back of the caboose. If either a brakeman or a conductor was in the caboose that would be it. More then likely they would get caught and their cross country journey would be over. Fortunately for them there was no one in the caboose. But if that train was about to leave soon, someone would defiantely show up at any given time within the next fifteen minutes or so. So with that in mind they had to be really careful. Once they got around to the other side if the caboose, they saw that there was another cut of freight cars on a side track parallel to the freight train that was about to leave which was a bonus in their favor. That way if they hopped this train on that side no one would be able to see them because that string of freight cars would be blocking their view. Walking between the southbound train and string of freight cars their main objective now was to find an empty boxcar that had its sliding door open. But for now the freight cars they were passing were all yellow wooden refrigerator cars with Red Ball Express written on their sides. All of the string of refridgerator cars that they were walking along had locked doors, because more then likely they were carrying meat from the numerous slaughterhouses in Washington D.C. and Baltimore. "I don't know Bobby, this could be one of the railroads crack express trains carrying nothing but meat. Why its stopped here I don't know but I sure hope we find at least one box car that we can climb into. We've been walking all afternoon and right now I'm pretty tired." "Same here." Bobby admitted. Carrying a heavy load on his back in his backpack didn't make walking any easier for him. Besides his feet were beginning to hurt. After passing about twenty Red Ball refrigerator cars they finally came to some regular box cars. It didn't take long for them to find one Chesapeake and Ohio boxcar that had its door halfway open. "This is it. Let's do it!" Quack said excitedly. He pulled off his backpack then tossed it into the boxcar. Once his backpack was in the boxcar, he tossed his blanket roll up into the boxcar then hopped on in. "Give me your backpack and sleeping bag." Quack said. Bobby handed Quack his sleeping bag first, then took off his backpack. One Quack had them in the boxcar, Bobby hopped on in. Both boys looked at each other and started laughing. "We did it. We're on our way to Dixieland. Quack cried out. "We sure are." Bobby laughed. Now it was only a matter of time before the train left. How long the two boys had no idea. But for now they were safe and their future looked a little more promising......
