I particularly love those and so many chapters have significant sections based on those ideas. I do put considerable effort into the writing and truly enjoy it, or I wouldn't do it, but email is so fun. Drop me a note then keep doing it.

Let's make some movies

I'm pretty sure he thought we were just playing around. He didn't know us that well yet. I was serious. I liked movie making but, like music, I felt my niche was behind the camera. Now with music I also performed and with movies I expected I would sometimes too.

I'd already decided to build the studio and soundstage, but we needed a first film. We were at the coffee shop which was a pretty common destination. Gabe walked in and saw us and sat down to join us. The conversation continued and Gabe jumped in.

"How about a documentary?" suggested Gabe. "It feels more manageable for your first film."

"Interesting idea but do you have a topic?" I asked.

"Yes, but she may not agree. What about a biopic about Juanita? Start in Ocala and end with her being a coach with the Magic," said Gabe. "It won't be a big budget blockbuster, but it would be cool "

"Wow," I said. "Do you think she would agree? It is a story that needs to be told."

"I don't know," said Gabe. "All we can do is ask. Why don't we go visit her?"

The second prong would be hiring an investigator to, well, investigate and see if we could find enough information to prosecute anyone. It hadn't been that long so we shouldn't be past the statute of limitations on any charges.

The third prong I kept to myself. The ADA and his investigator should have found something. I was curious why it didn't. My spidey senses said there was something there.

So off we went. Gabe needed to head back to New York anyway.

Criminal intrigue

"So much for my investigative skills," she said with a laugh. "I guess you can afford it. I do want the job but have a problem. My husband travels for his work. This would require me to be in Ocala for an extended period. We don't have family that can take care of the kids."

"That's easy," I said. "I can offer you two solutions. One would be temporary but the other could be a more permanent solution." She gave me a quizzical look. I kept going.

"The short-term solution is they move in here. You have met Juan and his family. They'd be happy to have your kids move in and they'd ensure they got to school and would treat them as their own," I said.

"You would do that? They would do that?" she said.

I messaged Juan and he headed back with the 131.

They can move in with me for a bit."

"Your parents wouldn't mind them moving in?" said Sheila.

"No, they wouldn't. That's another option," I said.

"What do you mean another option?" said Chase. "You're 15. You live with your parents, right?" Ah got it.

"Beyond that. Dionysus is near Greece. How could we do all that and be back tomorrow?" said Chase.

"Space?" said Sheila. "Did you say space?"

"Well sure," muttered Sheila.

Oh. Well shit. I called Cobb and he used his contacts to quickly find a domestic abuse shelter. I sent them there. Best I could do. I sent Grace to Cleveland and Sheila and I flew to Ocala. We never did find out. Was it even the FBI?

And it just gets worse

As it turns out, we couldn't breathe. I got a call on the satellite phone from Mom. CNN was reporting there was an international warrant out for my arrest for kidnapping, both mother and daughter. My suspicions were that this was a setup, but she said that there were patrol aircraft circling the islands from several countries. Like that would happen.
