I hope you all enjoy this story sorry if there are slow parts including this intro. Hi my name is Jay, and I have a story to tell. Just a warning it doesn't have a happy beginning, it will deal with tragedy, heartbreak, betrayal, and depression. But it becomes almost like a sort of fairytale with love, luck, happiness, and friendship. To begin I think I should tell you some about my past so you can understand my present and future. My younger years were lonely, not because I was alone. But because I wasn't around anyone I felt understood me, or thought like me. You see I realized very young, probably about 9 years old, I was different. I only wanted girls as friends. Boys on the other hand, every time I could I had one of my friends showing me what they had in their pants. I even got a few to play sexy games. But, as I got older the other boys didn't want to play any more. They said they didn't want to do gay stuff anymore. So I spent the next 4 years trying to be "normal". It caused a lot of problems for me. I became withdrawn, and developed depression. My parents tried to help by taking me to some shrink. When that didn't seem to help, they convinced our family doctor to put me on some pills. This seemed to help for a short time. But, I still felt the constant knot in my stomach. Then one day at school I meet a new boy. He was having trouble reaching his locker, as he was rather short. I stopped to help him. The second he turned around, we made eye contact, and we just stared at each other for what seemed like forever. But, it was probably about 15 seconds. Then he spoke introducing himself as Cody, and I was in love. He had the voice of an angel. We quickly learned he had pretty much the same class schedule except history. But, our classes were right next to each other. We became friends, and got to know each other very well, One day, after most of the school year, I came to school and couldn't find him anywhere. I went to the office to ask if he had called in sick. The monet I walked in the door, and looked at the secretary, I knew something was wrong. So naturally I asked about my friend. The principal heard me, and asked me to come to his office and have a seat. I knew something terrible had happened at this point, and started to freak out. I started begging them to tell me what was going on. The principal got me to calm down, and told me that Cody would not be coming to school any more. I was so confused. Then he told me that Cody's family was driving home the night before and got hit by a drunk driver killing everyone in both cars. After hearing this, I only know what I have been told. Apparently, I passed out, and fell over smacking my head on the corner of the desk. The next thing I remember is waking up alone in a hospital bed. I was finally able to get a nurse's attention. She ran to get a doctor who then told me I had been unconscious for 2 weeks. I soon remembered what happened, and became severely depressed. I did what I was told and soon left the hospital and returned to school. But, life felt empty. I had finally found some happiness, and the universe took it all away. I hated life, I hated everyone around me, and I hated myself. One day after school I had decided I had enough. I took a kitchen knife, sat in a bathtub of warm water. Then placed the blade against my wrist. Just as I started to break skin my brother kicked the bathroom door so hard the hinges ripped off. He quickly took the knife, and slapped me across the face asking how I could do something so selfish as he pulled me into a hug. We sat and cried for awhile, and I told him everything. He agreed to keep the incident between us to save our parents the heartache. We became very close after that. He was like my best friend and even though he was older he always made time for me. Then one day he told me he had to go away for collage. Needless to say I was devastated. I became withdrawn again. But, not as bad because even though I knew he was far away he still loved me. This went on for some time until one day I came home from school to find my mom, and one of her good friends sitting at the table. They asked me to join them as they had something to talk to me about. At this point I was nervous. However, they both smiled at me, and I felt this wasn't a bad thing so I sat and talked with them. They told me that Aunt Dannie (moms friend) was trying to help her cousin. Who needed someone to watch her 9 year old son, so she could work more hours. My mom said she wanted me to do it that it could be good for me, and Brad. It took them a while. But, they convinced me to try for a couple weeks starting the following afternoon. I met Brad the next day as he got off the bus in front of my house. We got along great did our homework together then watched TV until his mom picked him up. As soon as they left I felt sad, this confused me because I just met him a few hours before. I went to bed early that night hoping to make the time pass faster until he was with me again. This happened almost the same for the next few months until school let out for summer. The third day of vacation there was a knock on the front door. I ran to my room and pulled on some shorts as I like to be naked whenever I can. When I got to the door I opened it to find Brad and his mom. She looked exhausted and he had been crying. He quickly flew into my arms, and started crying. Holding him I stepped out of the way so his mom could come in. We made our way to the living room where she told me that her dad had died the day before, and her mom was in critical care after a car accident. She went on to tell me her and Brad had to move a crossed the state to care for her, and they were leaving the next day. I was at this point crying just as hard as Brad was. After spending some time together they had to leave to take care of things so they could leave the following day. I realized after they left that I loved him. This scared the hell out of me because it wasn't like a brother or cousin love no this was the big L. What the hell was wrong with me? I was in love with a little boy? I quickly buried these feelings so deep they could never surface. The next few years I went through the motions of life till the end of my senior year in high school. It was the end of the year, and I had just found out I wasn't able to go to my brothers college graduation due to my final exams. I was sad. But, decided there was nothing I could do. So my parents went without me while I stayed behind and hit the books. The second and final day of test, as I finished my last one I got this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach. The teacher asked a few others that had finished to take me to the nurses office. As we walked in to the front office I froze there were 2 police officers talking to the principal and the secretary. All four of them looked at me and I could tell something was wrong, and it was bad. I was escorted to a conference room were the principal and cops told me that my mom, dad, and brother were dead. They had died in a fire at the hotel they had stopped at on the way home. It turns out there was a gas leak and some how it got sparked, most likely by a cigarette. The cops then told me because I was 18 and the only living relative I would need to speak to our family lawyer about what happens next. I don't remember how long I sat there. It felt like days even weeks. But, when I looked up I was all alone in the room. Like I was now in the world. I stood up and made my way to the front office and informed the secretary I wouldn't be back at school until graduation. She said seeing as I had finished my finals the principal had already okayed that. I left the office went to my locker, cleaned out everything and left to go home. As soon as I got home I went straight to my dads office and looked in his address book for the phone number of a friend of my parents. I knew he was a lawyer in hopes that they had handled the wills and things of that nature. His name was Fred Philips and as it turns out he was my parents lawyer and friend. After talking with him I agreed to meet him at his house in about an hour for dinner then we could look over everything and see what's next. I sat for a few minutes then got up took a shower and changed before grabbing my moms car keys and heading over to meet Fred. It only took about 15 minutes to get there. Freds wife Mary answered the door and pulled me into a hug that is when the dam broke. Reality hit and I collapsed into her hug. I cried until I had no tears left. We went to the living room, and she had me sit on the couch. Fred sat next to me as his wife scurried off to the kitchen to tend to dinner. I was on auto pilot for the next hour or so until I realized I was siting in Freds home office and he was asking me if I was ready to begin. Over the next couple hours we went over everything from last wishes, financials, and life insurance. By the time we were done with everything I knew that my parents owned the house free and clear. They had close to a million dollars in checking and savings. We made plans to go to the bank the following day and change everything to my name. The crazy part was learning about the life insurance apparently. Mom and dad not only had insurance on themselves. But, also my brother and I paying out $1,500,000.00 each person. There was also a clause with the policy that stipulated if two or more deaths were connected there was an extra $500,000.00. I was awe struck I woke up that morning worried about some stupid math test. Now I am a multimillionaire with no family. We sat in their living room talking for a bit longer I agreed to let Fred file a lawsuit against the hotel chain that owned the location. After a while we sat back and watched the TV. The next thing I knew I was waking up in a recliner in Freds living room smelling coffee I Followed my nose, and found Fred reading the paper at the table. I grabbed a cup for myself, and joined him. We made our plans for the day we would deal with the bank, followed by lunch, then in the afternoon we would go talk to the insurance agency. The next couple of days went like that, going and meeting with this person, or signing that form by the end of the week I was exhausted but everything was in my name. Not to mention the funerals. Whith the many details and the people visiting. Graduation was 2 days away so I decided I needed to go home and get ready for that, and think about what to do with my life. I hadn't been home more than 15 minutes when I decided I couldn't stay in this house. Now that my family was gone. So I pulled out my laptop and started looking at real estate near. After nearly an hour and a half I was disappointed with what I had found available so I called Fred for advice. He answered on the second ring after telling him my line of thought. He said he knew an agent that specialized in high end real estate, and I should give him a call. After talking a few more minutes we hung up. Next I called the number he gave me. I told the receptionist who gave me the number, and immediately transferred my call to the head agent. I spent the next hour telling this man everything that happened, and what I was looking for. He told me to give him an hour and he would call back. I don't know why but I was so nervous waiting for that call, it was only about 45 minutes later that he called back. He said he had a few properties he would like to show me. Then asked if we could meet for lunch the next day. I agreed and suggested a quiet diner down town and we set a time and hung up. I immediately called Fred, and asked if he could join us so I didn't make a bad deal. He happily agreed and asked me to come back and use his guest room because the worried about me being alone. I told him I would be there before dinner. The next day found me, and Fred waiting in corner booth for the agent. We didn't have to wait long until a pudgy man came walking up. We shook hands and he introduced himself as David Richards. After briefly checking the menu he got down to business asking dozens of questions about what I want and price range. After about 2 hours he finally said he thinks he has two properties to show me but they are a ways away and apart he then says he has a helicopter he can take us to one the day after graduation and the other the day after that. This sounded good to me so we agreed and parted ways. The next morning I woke up and got ready to go walk with my class and end high school. As well as this chapter in my life. Fred, and Mary insisted on going in my family's stead which of course I agreed to happily. They asked to drive me there. I had no problem with that as I was having a hard time seeing through my misty eyes. I wasn't expecting graduation to be special, other than the fact I thought I would be alone and wasn't. Boy, was I wrong when they called my name everyone stood but made no sound. I found it so touching that I started to cry then it happened the moment I can never forget " I'M PROUD OF YOU NEPHEW!" a voice in the back yelled as loud as they could. I instantly recognized it as Fred that cause the entire area to erupt in cheers. That day was exhausting and I had an early day so we grabbed pizza on the way home and I turned in early. The next morning. I woke up packed, a small bag with a change of clothes and a few things then headed to the kitchen to get some coffee. Before I left to the air field. As I was leaving Fred stopped me, and asked if he could come along. I thought for a moment and agreed. We took my car and headed down the road. About half way there I decided I need to get fuel. So we stopped as I was paying felt the urge to buy a lottery ticket. But, had no idea what I was doing. The cashier explained the lotto to me as briefly and accurately as she could. I got one of each game and a few scratch tickets. Fred offered to drive the rest of the way and I thought that was cool. I could check out my scratch ticket and see if I won a few bucks. Not that I needed it. I had three tickets, I spent $16 on all three. I played the first one, and got nothing. On the second one I won $20. So now I had made my money back plus a few bucks. The last one was like a cross word, and I didn't have time. Because we were pulling into the air field. I dropped it in the glove box. As we were heading to the administration building David came out and ushered us onto a chopper. In moments we were so airborne. He told us it was about a two hour flight, and we would set down right by the gate to the property. The flight seemed to go very fast because it didn't feel like more than 45 minutes before we were landing in a small clearing by a gate with nothing but trees as far as the eye could see. As soon as the propellers stopped spinning we exited the bird. David started telling us the land is mostly untouched. It was 125 acres with just a medium sized cabin. He chose this location because he felt I could build my dream home. But the other location already had a house. I looked around for about an hour then went back to the helicopter and climbed in. David said because I didn't take long here he thought we would have time to fly to the other estate. Fred and I discussed it for a moment then we told David we agreed and we would like to see it as soon and possible. About an hour and a half we were touching down in front of a very large beautiful. But, somewhat run down mansion. I asked David to tell me about this place . He said it was 17 bedrooms, and a room for just about everything. A barn out back, and a detached living quarters for the house staff. All of this was sitting on just shy of 80 acres, and the owner was desperate to sell due to financial problems. Due to the work needed the asking price was 4.5 million dollars. After exploring I had fallen in love with this place. I knew this was going to be my home. But didn't let David know that as we climbed back into our ride and flew back home. Once there I told David I would call him in a day or two he smiled and told me to take my time. Fred and I got in the car and drove back to his house. As we pulled in he asked me if I like the house I told him I loved it but didn't think I should spend that much. Becasue I wouldn't have enough to properly renovate it. We went inside and he suggested I sleep on it and we could talk in the morning. I agreed and after saying my good nights I went up to the spare room they were lending me. I didn't sleep at all that night with all the thoughts going through my head. At about 4 a.m. I decided I couldn't lay there any more. I got up, got dressed and decided to go for a drive. While I was out I thought it would be nice to make a huge breakfast for Fred and his wife for us. While we talked about me buying that huge house. So I went to the nearest 24 hour supermarket and got any breakfast food I could think of. By the time I got back it was close to 5:30 in the morning. I said why not, and got started cooking. I made pancakes, waffles, steak, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausage links, sausage patties, and three kinds of bacon. For drinks I got orange juice, apple juice, tropical punch, two flavors of tea, and of course milk and coffee. Like a perfectly timed act, Fred and Mary came into the kitchen as I was plating the last of the eggs. They were surprised, and grateful for the breakfast. We spent the next hour or so, eating and going over the pros and cons of owning such a large estate. By the time we had finished. I had made my choice. I was going to buy it. But, I wasn't going to pay what they wanted. David had said the owner was desperate to sell. So I figured I would start negations at 3.8 mil not the 4.5 mil they were asking. I called David to let him know what I had decided to do. A couple hours later I was sitting in front of the TV watching some news. They mentioned that there was a drawing for the mega millions lotto with one winning ticket sold. But unclaimed at the moment. I raced out to my car got the remaining scratch ticket, and my lotto tickets. As soon as I got to my computer. I looked up the numbers from the night before. I couldn't believe what I was seeing in my hand was a ticket worth 1.3 billion dollars. As calmly as I could I went and found Fred working in his office. He couldn't believe it either. We had to have Mary check it also. She just looked at the ticket and the computer screen, and started crying. I asked Fred to handle the winnings as my lawyer. He of course agreed, and said he would get right on it. Later that same day David got back to me saying the owner would take 4.2 mil and no less. Due to the recent developments I quickly agreed. We made an appointment for me to come to his office, and sign the paperwork the following afternoon. At this point Fred came into the living room were I was making my phone calls and told me he has an appointment at the lottery office in the morning, I also mentioned signing the papers in the afternoon, and he said we should be back in time. We were all drained that night and I chose to order us Chinese food. The conversation was light until about half way through dinner when Fred asked what my plan to refurbish the house were. He didn't like my plan I told him it depends on how it goes with the lotto winning. But, probably have the servant house redone first then live there till the house finished. Both Fred and Mary thought I should stay with them. They both relented when I explained I wanted to be close by to make sure it was done the way I wanted. I could keep going and tell you all the details of my past. But, the highlights are I bought the mansion named Peaceful Acers Manor. The winnings from the lotto ended up being around 800 million all said and done. When I went to the bank the manager and in house investment specialist set it up so my personal account had 5 mil. The rest was put into savings, and other investments that would net me just over a million dollars every month. Which got split were one month 25% would be added to my personal account. The next would see 75% added alternating each month. It took 5 years to complete the restoration of the manor. I ended up buying a nice large Rv and parking it in the barn out back as my temporary home during those 5 years. Because the servants quarters was condemned and had to be torn down. So that's my past. Are you ready to see how my life goes? Me too. Its a fun and exciting ride.
