This story is entirely fiction and is not meant to imply anything about the Backstreet Boys. Chapter 3 Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys looked up from the menu when a waiter stopped next to the table, where the Backstreet Boys were waiting for the Director of the television show that they had been on that day and his family, and smiled at the director. Brian was about to greet Mr. Dougherty when he saw a gorgeous young man walk up behind the director and his wife. When Brian's eyes met those piercing brown eyes he felt his heart stop for a moment, then continue beating at a much elevated pace. Suddenly he realized that he was staring and Mr. Dougherty was introducing them. Mat stared into those hypnotic eyes until Brian dropped his gaze, then realizing that he had been staring, blushed deeply. He suddenly realized that his uncle was still speaking. "Guys, I would like to introduce you to my niece Jenna Dougherty and my nephew Matthew Dougherty." When all the guys stood up Mat realized that he would have to shake Brian's hand. He felt like he was going to throw up but quickly thrust all his emotions down so that he could smile calmly as if he met celebrities everyday. As Jenna watched her brother calmly shake their hands she wondered how he managed to be that calm. She felt like she needed to scream at the top of her lungs. She swallowed the feeling and reached out to shake AJ's hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you." she murmured trying to keep from shuddering at the feel of the hand against hers 'They are nice people!' she shouted at herself mentally, 'They are not going to hurt you!' Once again she looked at Mat, just in time to witness Mat shake Brian's hand. She knew that Mat had had a crush on Brian for years and watched as their fingers touched. She couldn't help smiling as their eyes met and they just seemed to stare at each other totally unaware of what everyone around them was doing. At that moment she shook someone else's hand and felt a shiver run up and down her spine, but this time it wasn't from fear. She looked into a pair of smiling brown eyes that seemed to draw her in. She jerked her hand back quickly saying, "It's a pleasure to meet you." They all quickly sat down and the waiter handed the newcomers menu's and disappeared after saying that he would be back with water. Mat, sitting next to Jenna and his uncle finally felt his nerves start to calm down. Flipping through the menu he asked the table at large, "Does anyone know what is good here?" Uncle Doug smiled, "Everything is good here." "Well gee, Uncle Doug, that certainly narrows the choices." Jenna said sarcastically, leaning over to grin at their uncle. Kevin looked up from his own menu, "If you like chicken, their orange chicken here is the absolute best." They all nodded and quickly decided on their choices. Once the waiter came back and everyone had ordered they were all talking like old friends. Howie leaned back in his seat, "You know, we expected your uncle to be calm about meeting us, but not you guys. We had ourselves resigned to eating while at least one person mentally undressed us." Jenna sighed dramatically, "Well I guess you guys are disappointed then, instead you have at least 30 people mentally undressing you." The guys stared. "What do you mean?" AJ finally asked. Jenna simply nodded her head in the direction of the door. When they all looked it was to find 30 young teeny bopper girls staring at their table lustfully. "Well damn."Brian grimaced, "Now I won't be able to eat knowing that if I spill something they will all rush over here to clean me up." The guys grinned, but Mat simply said, "Then I guess you won't spill anything." Jenna leaned over to whisper to her brother, "How can you be so damn calm with your crush sitting right across from you?" He laughed softly and returned, "I was going to ask you the same thing." "Hey. Are you two keeping secrets over there?" Nick asked grinning at them. Jenna and Mat simply looked at each other and then nodded. Brian smiled at them and asked, "You know we noticed that you guys are twins, which of you is older?" Mat grinned, "That'd be me." Jenna frowned, "He is a minute and a half older but looks and acts like he is two years older." She sighed, "Life isn't fair." Kevin laughed softly and asked "How old are you guys?" "18." "19." Mat and Jenna glared at each other while everyone looked confused. "Umm, It isn't possible that today is your birthday is it?" Brian asked cautiously. Mat shook his head, "Jenna and I disagree on this point. We are still 18, but Saturday is our birthday so she wants to jump the gun." Jenna nodded, "I just don't think that it is wrong to say that you are older the week before your birthday. But Mat is nothing if not totally and completely honest, so he would never do that." Mat turned to look at his twin, "Is there something wrong with that?" He asked looking into her eyes. Jenna shook her head vehemently, "Not at all. Actually I wish that I could do that." She smiled at everyone else, "I tend to lie a little, about things like if someone did a horrible painting I tell them that I see potential when I really don't see any." The guys looked at her, "And you call that lying? That is more like being polite." Howie said easily. Jenna and Mat both opened their mouths to answer but were saved by the food coming. Looking at the huge piles of food Jenna and Mat both turned to their Aunt and Uncle and, as one they asked, "Do you have a home gym?" Everyone burst into laughter while Jenna and Mat looked at them confused. Then, realizing what they had done they laughed easily. "But no really, do you have a home gym?" Mat asked. He and Jenna both emitted a sigh of relief when their aunt and uncle nodded. Kevin grinned at Jenna as she reached for the orange chicken, "What would you have done if they had said no?" He asked grinning. Jenna looked at him cautiously, "Not eat." Everyone except Mat stared in shock. "What do you mean not eat?" Howie asked incredulously. Mat shrugged, "Well, we really don't eat very much if there isn't a way for us to work off the calories." Brian stared at Mat, "How much is not much?" Jenna and Mat looked at eachother, then Jenna responded, "When we know that we can't work it off that evening we usually limit ourselves to about 1000 calories in a day." AJ groaned. "How can you live off of that?" Jenna and Mat laughed, "We usually don't live off of that, we have a private gym that we go to every evening except when we are delayed and just can't make it." Mat said taking a huge bite of chow mein. Everyone at the table stared at the two for a moment. "How long do you work out?" Howie asked cautiously. Jenna shrugged and stopped eating, "It depends. The norm is about 2 to 3 hours though." Everyone else leaned back in their chairs, "Dang." AJ muttered. Mat laughed, "Not really, I mean you guys don't have to worry about that cause you spend hours practicing your dances." "True." Kevin said and they all quickly became engrossed with their food. When the waiter came back around to collect the plates Uncle Doug asked for the dessert menu. "Uncle Doug no!" Jenna gasped, "Don't you REMEMBER?!?!" she asked, the guys were staring at her in shock while her brother tried desperately not to laugh. Uncle Doug looked back and forth between the two. "Remember what Jenna?" he asked a mystified look on his face. Jenna buried her face in her arms and refused to look up, "Mat, please make sure that I don't see it. DON'T let me see it." she begged. Mat patted her back still trying to keep from bursting out laughing, "I won't Jen." Kevin looked between the two, concern on his face, "What's wrong with her?"he asked looking at Jenna who still hadn't lifted her head from the table. Mat laughed softly, "She addicted to chocolate, has absolutely no self-control when she sees it, even pictures." Jenna moaned in agony when Mat said the word chocolate. The guys burst into laughter until Jenna lifted her head and pierced each of them with a glare. They all immediately lost their grins. Jenna tossed her long hair back over her shoulder and said easily, "It's alright. If it weren't me I would think that it was funny. But you have no idea how awful it is to look at a picture of....cake that has chocolate in it and suddenly you have this overwhelming desire to eat chocolate. And you absolutely cannot help it. It is annoying as hell. Brian solemnly looked at her, "We feel your pain." he said seriously. Everyone at the table burst into laughter including Jenna. "Okay so no dessert please." Jenna told her uncle and grinning he nodded. Mat looked across the table at Brian and found Brian staring at him. Brian quickly looked away and Mat wondered, 'Was he staring at me? Maybe he's....no way. He's got that girlfriend...what is her name?' He dismissed it as unimportant and realized that he was still looking at Brian. Jenna nudged him in the side and whispered, "Don't be so obvious Mat." Mat quickly looked down at his hands, where he was twisting and tearing his napkin. He felt an almost uncontrollable wave of longing sweep over him and looked back at Brian only to find Brian looking at him again. Their eyes locked and Mat felt a wash of love for this boy that he didn't even really know. He quickly looked down again wondering what he would do. He felt like he had given away his heart without even realizing it. "Alright then, we are ready to go." Uncle Doug said standing and pushing his chair back. Jenna started to stand but found the guy from her fondest dreams pulling her chair back for her to stand. She blushed looking away from him and moved towards the door. Mat stood and started to walk towards the door. In the back of his mind he was aware of his uncle asking the Backstreet Boys if they would mind dropping him and Jenna off at his uncle's house whenever they felt like it. Mat quickly came back to reality and managed to ask, "What?" Jenna gave him a glare and said softly, "The Backstreet Boys have invited us to come to their hotel to continue chatting." Mat stared at her for a minute then at the Backstreet Boys "Why?" he asked and all of the guys gave him a disappointed look. "Why?" Kevin asked, "Because we like you guys and you manage to behave normally around us." Howie grinned, "I also want to put the moves on you Jenna." Nick laughed, "Okay then I get Mat." Jenna and Mat looked at each other and grinned, "You wanna switch?" Jenna asked her brother. Mat grinned "No offense guys but neither of you are my type." Mat risked a glance at Brian as he said this. Brian suddenly had a very disappointed look on his face. Mat wondered why. They quickly walked outside and Jenna and Mat gave their aunt and uncle a hug then looked at the Backstreet Boys. "So...how are we getting to the hotel?" Jenna asked looking at them. Nick grinned at her and gestured at the lavish limousine that was waiting for them outside, "Your chariot awaits my lady." Jenna smiled nervously at him. Kevin looked at them all then turned to Uncle Doug and Aunt Cathy, "You two should wait in here until we leave. That way you can avoid having the little people outside mobbing you as well." Uncle Doug laughed and nodded, "You two have fun." he said smiling at Jenna and Mat. To Be Continued I hope y'all are enjoying my first attempt at a story here.
