I woke and just laid there wondering what the day would bring and I was
thrilled that is was a crappy weather day. Cole was downstairs and had
coffee on. I said thanks and filled a cup with coffee and went back
upstairs and was reviewing some papers about building 1 and decided I
would just go to the office after school. I emailed Brian, Tim, Mason and
dad, to let them know and then Tuesday's BOD meeting flew into my head.
Damn I had not seen the agenda yet. I sent another email to Brian and dad
which simply said, AGENDA????


I was enjoying a hot shower and Cole joined me. I was taking a good look
at him and he asked, do you need a picture. That might look good in your
wallet a hot nude dude with a big dick. That would be helpful to Carley
as she tells everyone you are gay. I laughed and said so how much do you
weigh? He said 185 and I'm 6' and every bit of 8". I said, not bad for
a golfer, but get out of here we are running late. I got him to school on
time and was running a minute or two late and went right to AP English
and Carrie was in her usual seat and mine was open so I sat next to her.

game. Just then class started and we both were paying attention. After
class I said, I never assumed anything else. We went our separate days
and in History we were in our normal seats. She smiled a couple of times
but we did not talk.


Lunch was good and I saw Carrie go up to Carley, there was a brief
conversation and Carley was shaking her head. On the way to class Carley
said, I can't believe you, shit even your ex has your back. I laughed
and said that's because she is special and you're not, enjoy your
afternoon. As soon as I could I signed out and went to work. Half way
there I thought about going to see how building 1 was going and realized
that would be unfair as I alerted everyone I would be in the office. I
pulled into my parking space and went right to my office, said hello to
Ruth and looked at my desk, with organized piles and I smiled. I went to
the cafeteria and it was reasonable and I poured a coffee, one taste and
I threw it out and got an iced tea from the vending machine. Back at the
office, Mason was there and asked, why the surprised visit? I laughed and
said I gave you notice. How are the classes going? He said 3 more weeks
and then the test. I said Mason keep me informed but are the minimum
classes enough? He said, Mike, I have that as well. I said fine but I
would like to know that shit. Mason, unfortunately I need to replace you
any chance you know a clone or should I simply ask Ruth? He laughed and
let me and Dillon see what we can come up with. Mason, can you find Dr.
Williams and ask him to find me. He said sure, right away.


I called Brian and asked if he had a minute and he said sure, I have
papers for you to sign. When I got to his office he said Mike, these are
real issues and while they are good to go, I would like you to
understand. You are moving the project 2 property from Technologies to
Enterprises. I asked,  so dad did this and how is Enterprises paying for
this? He said 175k cash. Brian, is this legal? That's a bargain price
please explain. Mike please read, it's all there, it's legal. I'll
answer all your questions as will Tim. Mike, this second folder
containing papers that transfers the Trust's ownership to Enterprises. I
just looked at him and he said, what you asked for this? I said thanks, I
think. So Mike, why did you want to see me? Oh, I almost forgot, I want
to get a hire for Standard properties. Someone  that knows what they are
doing and who can mentor Mason. Mike, we should hire someone for Mason to
mentor. Brian, was that a serious statement or sarcasm? Mike, let me talk
with him you have no idea how good he is. Ok, but sooner than later.  Oh,
yeah the BOD agenda, where is it? Brian replied, Mike please check your
calendar as it was moved because your dad and I are leaving for NASA
tonight. Brian, is there a problem? Brian said, not at all, from all
reports they are very pleased. So how long is the trip? Just an
overnight.


I went and found dad and he was in his office, I sat down and asked, so
what's up with the NASA trip. He said, Mike it is routine. Dad, why the
no notice? Mike, trust me it is good and they are considering an
expansion of the program, not more people, just more work. Dad you worry
me when this happens. Mike there is a firm 10 year signed contract,
please worry about other things. I said thanks and found Kyle sitting in
my office. Hi Kyle, sorry I got involved with dad and his trip. Mike, I
hope you told him no more work, I'm hearing from some of your people
that there might be an expansion. Kyle, more people? Well I'm hearing
about a hundred. I laughed and said, he just told me more work and no
more people. Mike, he is in full blown protect your ass mode. To be
honest, I'm glad you stopped in and that you seem to be functioning. I
laughed and said, I'm going to kill him. So Kyle what's up with Dillon?
Mike, he is chomping at the bit, he absorbs everything I throw at him.
Mike, were you really going to keep him in accounting? Kyle, I liked both
those guys and could only hire one and Dillon had a minor in accounting
so I took the opportunity. Your need for an assistant was perfect. Now I
have to replace Mason as he moves to Standard Properties. So Kyle, how
are thing in your world with your new title? He said my world here and at
home are great as we are expecting our first kid in about six months. I
said wow, congratulations, that's awesome. So, do you need anything
here? Kyle replied, the purchasing character is fine, I eventually get
what I want, but damn all the paperwork. He laughed and said Dillon on
the other hand want to kill her. We both laughed.


So Mike, why you here today, just Checking on things? Well Kyle, that and
I wanted to get ready for the board meeting. Mike check your calendar on
occasion that was changed over a week ago. I said, I got it. So why are
you really here? Kyle to get away from the teenage drama in my life,
Carrie and I broke up, I found a new girlfriend and that was not working
and after two dates, I broke it off. He laughed and asked what's the
issue? Kyle we had a fight, that I was not going to lose and she said she
would just fuck me into submission. He laughed and said well at least she
was honest, they all use sex to get what they want. Then he said, you two
are so into each other just have makeup sex and get it over with. I
laughed and said, it's way too complicated for that. I said, Kyle I
might stop at the strip district facility, anything I should know? Mike,
if you do that take Dillon along, he need to see more of you. I said
thanks and he went back to work.


I was temped to go fight with dad but had a better idea. I started on the
piles and was almost done when Dillon stuck his head in and asked for a
minute. I said sure, have a seat. I said, so Dillon what can I do for
you? Well, I don't see a lot of you and you involve me in a lot of
things. I said yes that's correct, is there a problem? Well, where do I
fit in around here, there seems to be a plan for Mason, I was hoping for
an explanation. Dillon, Kyle and I were just discussing you and relax
it's all good. I see more of Mason because, he works for me and he has
morphed into real estate because right now that's my focus. Kyle says
you deal with everything he throws at you and want more. Is that correct?
He simply said yes, absolutely. Dillon, I know you and Mason are friends
and compete, which is great. Don't over compete as you and him are on
different career paths. He is real estate and you technology. Both of you
could make a shit load of money, here or somewhere else. I'm hoping
here. When does classes start? He said Kyle has me taking some now, I
don't know how but he has a lot of influence there.


Ok, you are aware of Kyles title change? He said yes, I am. He has more
to do and as a result so do I. Ok, Dillon have we interviewed for Kyles
old job? He said not that I'm aware of. Dillon, I was going to ask you
to meet me in the strip district offices later this week and discuss the
possibilities. But since you are here, my plan is for you to continue to
work with Kyle, not as his assistant but as director of technology. My
problem is that the people who work under you would have more degrees and
more technology experience. So until you finish the work for your
masters, I will announce at the same time I move Mason to Standard
Properties as VP of sales, your promotion as Associate director of
Technologies and make it perfectly clear that you are in charge and
report directly to me. Actually you will be reporting to Kyle. Can you
live with that? He said yes, thanks. I said both of you will have a
compensation bump, but I need time for all this. Also, none of this gets
beyond this room. Mike, thanks, this means a lot to me. I smiled and as
he was leaving I said, Dillon play nice with purchasing. He laughed and
said, I'll do my best.


Having had enough for the day, I said good night to Ruth and started
towards the mall. I went into a toy store looking for a remote control
helicopter and was directed to an electronics store. I immediately found
a battery operated remote control helicopter. It was an expensive gag
gift, but what the hell. I stopped for some wrapping paper and headed
home. Once there I went right to my room and wrote a note saying "to
make the hovering a little easier, Love Mike" I taped the note to the
box, carefully wrapped it and placed it on dads desk. Cole stuck his head
in the door and I said, grab your clubs and let's hit some balls. He
said great and off we went. It was fun and relaxing and I said well I bet
Ryan has a good dinner so let's see about that and dad's reaction to my
gift. Cole asked, why did you get your dad a gift, I said to make a point
and he will either laugh his ass off or explode, let's find out.


At home there was a note from Ryan saying that he has school work up the
ass and that he made dinner, something easy and just turn the oven on to
350 immediately place the food in the oven and when it tells you it's
preheated the foods ready. I looked in the refrigerator and thought damn,
we should have gone out as there were a ton of already cooked fries and
three burger patties. There was also a large salad. Cole just looked and
I followed the directions and grabbed an iced tea as did Cole. While we
were waiting for dinner dad came in, went straight to his office and came
out with the gift asking who did this? Cole said well Mike open it, MJ
and I are interested as well. He opened the package looked at the note
and just started laughing. So dad, I hear through the company grapevine
that Cole and I are alone for a couple of days? He said Michael, that's
correct and I'll be back late tomorrow night. I said, I'm aware and
Kyle said no more business and I'm not buying more furniture to sell
back at a loss to hire more people. He laughed and said, I've given you
guys enough time, we are growing again and I thought shit. Dad, you and I
need to talk. Cole chimed in with, this reheated shit is good, I never
thought you could reheat fries. I laughed and said, I cooked so you dudes
are cleaning up and I went to my room.


I decided to call Carrie, naturally it went to voicemail and I just said,
Carrie, thanks it's appreciated and hung up. I called Ryan and we
chatted about his school workload and the Trust and finances. Finally I
asked how he was doing otherwise and he said great. Then he asked for
details about Ray. I asked why and he said that you dad asked if he could
stay in the extra room for a few weeks this summer. I said well, him and
I were close and then he got involved with drugs and his parents sent him
to Valley Forge and they in true sent him to rehab. He said shit Mike
will that be Bill all over again? I said Ryan, give me a day and I'll
asked dad when he gets back from Houston. He said thanks and all of a
sudden dad was at the door saying he had a flight to catch and he would
see me tomorrow night. I smiled and said count on that and safe travels.
He just looked and said, is there anything you don't find out before
I'm ready to talk? I said have a fun time.


I started reading, hoping my day was over when my phone rang and it was
Carrie. I answered with, well this is welcome surprise. She said, well so
was the thank you. I would have taken the call but I was was fighting
with the rents. I laughed and said well dad just left for Houston and
tomorrow we are going to have a blowup as well. I bought him a remote
control helicopter to help him hover. She laughed so hard I thought she
would drop her phone. So Michael, how are you doing single? I said it
different and both good and bad. I countered with how is Adam and she
replied, that was never a serious thing and you made it more than it was.
I replied, fair enough but let's not fight. This is the best
conversation we have had in weeks. So Mike, when you leaving for VT? I
said JJ and I are leaving Thursday after school. She asked, so just the
two of you and I replied well for now. There was silence for a moment and
she said, well Mike, it was nice talking with you. I'll see you in
school. We hung up with me thinking, shit I gave her an opening and she
punted.


I called JJ we talked for a while and he finally said, MJ what do you
want? I laughed and said an answer to a very hypothetical question. Would
Dee be permitted to accompany us to VT? Mike, I'm tempted to answer this
in fucking Spanish to simply make you think. The real question and it not
hypothetical at all is, if Carrie come to VT would Dee's parents let he
go as well, isn't that correct? I said fuck, ok that's it. MJ you are a
real pain in the ass, but I'll ask and hopefully let you know at lunch
tomorrow. I said JJ you are the best, but the room arrangements might be
a problem. He laughed and said well if I'm not doing Dee bring a lot of
lube as I'm doing you. Have a good night and hung up. I called him right
back and where answered I said so is have a good all you have to say? MJ,
what else is there to say you and her were always going to get back
together. You just need to be fucked around by another chick to realize
how special a thing you two have. MJ if Dee can't pull this off, I'll
stay back and let you and Carrie go. JJ, I'm not ready for that and
things are two fragile to be alone right now.  MJ, I'll bet you that you
have sex with her while we are down there, in fact more than once. I said
that's a bet. Good night and thanks. He laughed and said rule 3 and hung
up.


I was laying on my bed just thinking and my phone rand and it was Carrie
and I just laughed and asked, so did you forget something? She said, you
are still a jerk, you left me an opening on the VT trip and I missed it,
please can I come with you? I said well it is already in the works but it
is up to Dee's parents. Carrie, I have two rooms one for JJ and I and
one for you and Dee. She said, Mike you are the best and as soon as I
talk with Dee's parents it's good. You're the best, thanks, I said
good night and hung up, feeling like Caesar crossing the Rubicon.


I suddenly remembered the email, from Latrobe and I found it on my phone
looked at it and said damn you better print this. I sent it to dads
printer and went downstairs grabbed an iced tea and a cigarette and
started to read. The first part was a letter from Mr. Palmer thanking me
for helping him out. The second was a contract to be signed and returned.
I was reading the contract and laughed at the compensation as it was a
one year membership at Latrobe. It was all pretty detailed but I assumed
it was the legal department doing their thing. I grabbed a beer went
upstairs, put the contract on my desk and found Cole laying on my bed
shirtless and wearing a pair of basketball shorts and I would bet nothing
else. He 8said so what's up with you and your dad and the helicopter was
absolutely hysterical. I said, well that's a good thing because tomorrow
night sell tickets to the main event. Cole, he is hiding shit from me so
I am not stressed and what he is doing is in fact the opposite. I think
the NASA project is expanding and I have no more room or chairs for them
to sit, not to mention the lack of tech professionals.


MJ you are in a great mood, did you and Carrie finally end this silly war
you guys are having? Should I just go to my room so you two can have make
up sex. I laughed and said well we are better and I think Carrie, Dee and
JJ and I are going to VT together. Then, I smiled and said separate rooms
and Cole almost fell out of the bed laughing. Besides, I'm interested in
seeing what's under those baggy shorts and I'm betting nothing but 8
