Date: Thu, 11 Mar 2021 15:23:34 +0000 (UTC) From: Mike Simmons Subject: It was always about the bets 226 I was up early and showered and put on a jock, workout shorts and a tee. Downstairs it was coffee and a light breakfast and the paper and the high school sports section was just starting to gear up for the fall sports. Outside JJ was there and jumped into the car and we were off to practice. Neither of were there for the past two week so I wasn't sure what to expect. I chatted with a few guys and all of a sudden, with no direction everyone started to line up for the sprints. This time there 6 sets and fuck, that was taxing. The morning running helped but this all out for about 40 yards. I saw Jim in street clothes and I went over and asked dude, what's going on? He said well MJ, I'm not even cleared to white my ass till the test results get back. I have a meeting with my rents and the doctor early Monday. Then I'll find out what the MRI on my back turns up. We are hoping for a pinched nerve. I said please stay put and we started to run play and I was on both offense and defense. It was no contact as we had no equipment. Once on defense I beat my guy easily and got in Sams face. He smiled and said do that again and you better have a face mask on because it will be in your teeth. While we were getting ready for the next play, I was told in no uncertain terms, DON'T DO THAT AGAIN. I looked at Jason and he said dude, we are serious about protecting Sam, just cool it. A few plays later I moved to offense. There were a few play and then Sam called one that was a simple run play, me off tackle. The handoff was shit and it was a fumble. I heard Jay say well if he would show up on a regular basis we would be past that by now. I didn't say anything and back in the huddle Sam snapped, well again and see if we can get it right this time, and he looked right at me. I fucking exploded and said Sam, the fucking handoff is a two way street. Do you want me to get Jim down here and show you how? Austin, a senior guard said, well he is sitting over there and not participating, again. I snapped, he isn't medically cleared to do anything as he needs test results. Blame me but cut his ass a break? The tension ended the day and walking back to the shelter Jay and Austin pulled me aside. Austin said Mike a lot of us are pissed. You are not around and we need you. Sure you lift weights and do, basically what you want. You normally lead the pack in the sprints and you finished in the middle. Your not working, some of us are wondering if you are mentally done. Then Jay said Mike, none of us give a fuck about your college ratings or where you stand in the rankings among high school linebackers. We simply want to see the results of those rankings. I said ok guys, I get it but you need to understand. I'll play offense and defense and everywhere I go two dudes fill follow me and I'll be doubled and tripled teamed. I played so hard last year I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. With all that you will get a sack or two a game, a few tackles for losses and about 200 yards of offense. That will have to be enough for you, I got no more. Austin said well thanks for the history lesson, I'm from Missouri, show me! He simply walked away. Then Jay said Mike, that goes for that cowboy, attached to your hip. You have some creds, well a lot, he doesn't. I grabbed my bag and saw Sam and but my arm around me and said, if you ever fucking do that to me again I'll kick your ass. As for you throwing a football in my face you better fucking hope you knock me out. We haven't started and I'm already pissed. You fucked up that handoff and did it to make me look bad. He looked at me and asked, so did you get the message? I simply went and found Jim. He laughed and said, so trouble in paradise? I said well people claiming spots they haven't earned. So what are they telling you? MJ, the reality is that it most likely is a disk in my back. Something called a C6 vertebrae. MJ it all depends how bad it is. It could be as simple as rest and as complicated as surgery. All I know is after I throw, even short passes, my arm is tired. He said well I need to get to work and try to keep my mind off this. I said Jim, let me know. At the car I saw JJ and Sam in an animated conversation. I slowed down and let that resolve itself. It ended with JJ pushing Sam and getting into the car. When I got there Sam said, I guess we are not hanging out today? Sam, after that stunt with the fucking handoff, I think it's a safe bet that it will be a while before you want to be alone with me. Sam said well if you want to continue to act like an entitled asshole, it will be a long season. I said Sam those are pretty big words for an unproved punk. I got in the car, looked at JJ and said I need a beer. JJ laughed and said you mean a keg and a hose. I laughed and we drove to my place. We sat outside we sat on the patio and we each had a beer. I filled him in on Jim and that situation. Then he asked about Mary Ann and I said well it's good and the sex was fun and intense. I asked about Dee and JJ said well for me it is getting old. I asked if he was about to add another member to his ex girlfriend club? He said not sure but it seems like a lot of couples break up just as school starts. Then I asked him what it was like in Texas? MJ, I was different person back there. There were less rules, school was easier and the girls only job was to please a football player. I took advantage of all that. One week I had a different girl every night and one of those nights it was two and I don't remember who they were, I was so high, well drunk or whatever. Most days I didn't shave and just took what I wanted. Then there were the bets, that's how I found out about games like Texas Hold'em. It was our version or truth or dare. Often the bets were chug what is in the bottle. Sometimes it was beer or it could be water, whiskey, piss and sometimes it contained cum. The only rule was getting over on each other. The only sane moments were during the games. Then he got quiet and looked at me and said, thanks. I got us another beer and JJ was walking around and I asked, did the Texas talk upset you? He smiled and said nope, just looking for the elephant. I said what? Mike the elephant, the thing we have avoided talking about since we got here. I started for the kitchen and JJ said, I want iced tea another beer won't help this shit show. I returned with the drinks and we were both quiet for a while. Eventually JJ said back in a day none of this would matter as the results on the scoreboard was all that marveled, is it the same here? JJ winning will solve a lot of issues and egos. Even though it was a shitty way to send the message they have a point. While we have been working out, running patterns for Sam. We have not been around well for this and in their mind we let them down. Also, I did struggle in those sprints. They are more right than they are wrong. Ok, I get it but what do we about it? Well, as for me I'm doing what I've been doing. However, I am making life as difficult as possible for Sam. What are you thinking? Well I'm working out more than ever before, so I'm not doing more. I will be professional with Sam. JJ, I am also going to talk with Jay and Austin and smooth that over. JJ, it is always about the under appreciated line guys. They are like secretaries in business you should always pay them special attention. We switched back to beers and JJ said I'm starving and I guess three beers fucked up us driving. Then he said we could just pretend we are in Texas. I laughed and said well actually, this isn't Texas and you want ribs or pizza. He said a rack and fries and BBQ sauce. I said fine and simply ordered the same for me. While we were waiting for the food I asked JJ, how old were you when you lost your virginity? He asked to a girl? I said yes. He said 14 and before you ask a dude 13. Ok MJ your turn and I said 15, for both. Then he said a three way? I said Jeff and his girl, last year. I left that scene and met Carrie. JJ laughed and said shit you would have been better off with the 3 way. Was that the only time, I said no but that needs to be rule 2. He laughed and said well I'll get that out of you eventually. Thankfully the food came and it was another beer and now I was buzzed. Then I remembered Mary Ann and that we were to do something. Then I had a BIG day tomorrow. It was still early but I can't drive. I decided to bite the bullet and call. When she answered and I said hello, she laughed and said so a bad day at practice and you have been drinking? I said correct and she said, well it's about time. That's been way over due, babe have a great night. I said thanks and hung up. I found JJ shirtless outside and I joined him but was laying off the beer. We were talking and he put his arms above his head stretching and turned his head to say something to me and went ewe, I fucking stink and MJ so do you. Let's take a shower. I laughed said, that is an awful excuse to get me naked. MJ, you should realize by now that neither of us need an excuse it simply is going to happen. Yeah, you are right about that. Oh, Jay did mention that I was joined at the hip with a cowboy. I said we are going to the basement as that shower is bigger and I love the shower head. First it was upstairs to get clothes as I was lending JJ clothes. Back downstairs I took the shorts off and JJ yelled, fuck that is so fucking hot, you ass in a jockstrap and he felt my ass. I laughed and said well this time my ass is off limits as I'm pounding you. Once the water was hot enough and we had soaped each other. I pulled him into a hug and we started to make out and I don't know if it was the horns or the beer but it was intense. Then I started on his nips and got on my knees and started to lick his balls and cock and he was rock hard. His cock was always hard to deep throat but after a couple of time I managed and shit, he grabbed my head and started to fuck my throat. When I decided that I had had enough, I pulled off and felt his ass and when I knew where his hole was I positioned a finger there and at the same time I shoved a finger in his ass and went balls deep on his cock. That always worked and he shot in my mouth. I stood up and turned him so he was facing the wall. I then spit his load from my mouth into my hand and smeared it on his ass crack grabbed his hips and drove my throbbing cock in to the hilt. I just held it there, giving him a. Chance to adjust and then started slowly but always balls deep to breed his ass. I was all the way in and whispered in his ear, I'm done being nice and I started to pound him and he would grunt with every deep thrust. Finally I couldn't hold off any longer and shot a load in him as beep as I could get it. Once my limp cock slid out of his ass, he turned around and we kissed for the longest time. We finally dried each other off and while we were both hard again, we dressed and went upstairs. We went to the backyard and were shirtless when there was a knock on the door and it was Jace. I offered him a beer and said iced tea would be better and I immediately thought, he is flying and that means more shit in New York. He looked at JJ and I both shirtless and said, how the fuck am it to concentrate with you two virtually nude? I laughed and said, just spill it. But I'm not sure I can deal with more today. Well MJ, Bob was arrested last night. He was caught pouring gas on a row of vines by our security. Mark has already removed the impacted vines and soil. Bob was charged this morning and was denied bail. Major Jim and I are going to fly up there tomorrow right after you ceremony. I'll stay the week and Jim will fly back Monday. I said fine and take the twin engine plane. I have nothing planned. Ask nicely and Jim might let you fly. Then he said Mike, Mark is a good dude and he works well with Charlie, that will help a lot. Jace, offer him a small raise and please play very nice with the guy who runs the migrant workers. I'll talk with Tim tomorrow and will call Monday morning, fly safe. Oh, talk with Mark about ice wine. He shrugged and said sure. I walked him to the door and asked, so you still want this gig? He said yup, it's fun. Once JJ had departed for home, I called his dad. When the Major got on the phone, I asked about plans for the next day. He was all excited as along with the Director there were 4 astronauts from the last shuttle mission, all of which he knew, who would talk about our contribution to the program. He asked if he could introduce everyone and I said well you can do all the introduction and I will have a very few words to say but I'm last. Then he said Mike, I have ordered a lot of coins, one side has the NASA mediation and the other MJS Enterprises. It's a throwaway gift that was cheap. I said perfect and asked about the meeting with Diane and he said well buckle up as her guns will be blazing and she underestimated you and she is pissed. I laughed and asked, how was that my fault? Jim, I'll answer any question but my net worth. The Major laughed and asked, do you even know that answer? I said well within 5 million. He laughed and said you need to be at South Hills at 9 and not a minute later. I said see you there and hung up. Just as I hung up and my phone rang and it was Sam and I let it go to voicemail and then deleted it. Before I started working on my talk tomorrow I called Jim but it went to voice mail. I wanted this talk to hit all the themes and yet be said in a different way. Then I thought I would do that with Diane and have a good old fashioned campaign speech, promises made and promises kept. That should shake things up a little. As for Diane, it would be about me and who I am and where I am going. What it means to be me. This will be a fun time, far different from the past few days. I spent some time reading that paper I wrote for history. Even a year later it says a lot about me. I read another English assignment, for a while, and then simply set the alarm and turned out the light and fell asleep. Thankfully the morning was sunny as we had an outside event planned and I really had a full plate. I dressed for the morning run and Cole was waiting in the kitchen and Jace was waiting in the driveway. There was no sign or Ray and as we were starting off a car pulled up and Sam got out. Jace immediately sense my anger and went to Sam. He said I am Jace and while you can run whatever streets you wish, I would respectfully ask you let us do our thing and you do you're thing. Sam looked at me and I simply headed to meet JJ and everyone followed, leaving Sam standing there. When we were back Sam was still there. He approached me and I looked at him and said not yet and possibly never and I went inside. I was hoping the rest of the day would be better. It was still early but it was a quick shower. I dressed in one of my best suits, white shirt and red tie. I looked in the mirror and laughed and changed to a grey and red tie which went better with the grey suit. I ordered a big breakfast of a veggie omelet and wheat toast and coffee. I was drinking coffee and saw Diane and went up to her and asked if she would like something to eat? She said well coffee and a chat would be nice. We sat down and I waved for Jake to stop over. I introduced him and asked about the family. He said all good and what would Diane like? She said coffee would be fine. Mike did you watch the interview we said a couple of weeks ago? Diane, honestly I did not. Why, is that important? Well it was an hour filled fill with fluff. Mike, I was unprepared and you were entitled you ready to fix that? Diane, I'll answer any question you ask, well except one. She laughed and said, I won't ask that question. I said truce and she laughed. The small conference room was ready and my breakfast sat there, untouched. When asked about it, I said I refuse to eat cold eggs. Let's get started. When we entered the room I put my jacket on the back of the chair and rolled up my sleeves and sat down. Diane asked, new image? I said nope, the real one. Then I was told that the interview would be edited. I just looked and then I was told not your comments but my build up to the questions and how relevant they are. I said ok but I get a tape when we are done, audio will be fine. Everyone agreed and I was wired up and Diane said good morning Mr. Simmons. I said good morning and Mike will do nicely. Mike, would you please describe yourself for all of us? I laughed and said well that's a tall order. I am arising high school senior with a new girlfriend, I am an elite athlete, I have a scholarship to VT to play football, an entrepreneur, a business owner, the owner of two buildings, an excellent student and I'm a college student. Mike you are correct that is a lot. So how are you a rising senior and a college credits? Well I tested out of every math class at the high school. With my football scholarship I got permission to take computer science classes at CMU. I have 9 credits. So you trying to finish college before you get there? Nope, I plan to graduate in three years with a masters. Mike, while you play big time football? I smiled and said yes. Mike, we understand you are Chairman at what you call Technologies, President at Enterprises. How are you actually involved with these companies? I said at Technologies, dad sells and I take it from there and house the people, organize things and make sure it runs smoothly and makes money. Before you ask, I have put together an amazing team, they run the day to day. We meet and discuss and solve problems. At Enterprises, it is easier as it it is a group of companies, with a large degree of freedom. There is a legal firm, an architectural group, a commercial real estate company and a Winery. Diane, most of these companies provide services for Technologies. Enterprise actually owners the two buildings, the Winery and a beach house. Mike are you telling us that you don't own anything? Well Diane, I'm actually telling you I own and control the corporate entity that owners these companies. All very legal, I assure you. Diane, I'm sorry as I forgot the Foundation. Mike, we understand that this was all made possible because of a Trust, is that correct. I said yes, that's right. Mike why not invest the money and be a typical high school football player. Diane, I don't want to be uncooperative but it simply not who I am. Not only that but the trust ended and chance I could be typical. There is nothing typical about me.Besides it was a test. Dad wanted to see if I was going to be like my brother Bill. He died of an overdose and it is a long personal story, I would rather not get into that. At that point I asked for a short break. Once we were back I was asked about my business philosophy and I replied, respect the past, manage the present and develop the future. This area is laden with history from Washington, the Whiskey Rebellion, Lewis and Clark, the industrial revolution, the union issues all are part of us. We were the steel capital of the country and then we weren't. There was also glass and aluminum. Then we, because of universities, became important in education and health. There was Carnegie, Ford, Pitcaren, Morgan, Dr. Salk. Now we need to address the future and I have place a big bet that it will be technology. Mike, a while ago, you stunned everyone by predicting an economic slowdown. How did you know about that before anyone else? Diane, it wasn't a lucky guess, I read and study and pay attention, there has never been a slowdown without signals. The radar went off when I realized I had the only new construction projects in the area, of any significant size. Mike, do you see an end to that? Diane, I do not and that's one of the reasons we branched out into the Winery, it's in New York, in the Finger Lakes Region. We are just getting started and it is in a lot worse shape than I realized. However the basic are there and it was a large regional Winery, back in a day. She laughed and said you just can't sit still, can you? We were on vacation at my dad's cabin an a bunch of my team are investors. I would not have done it but they asked. The more I dug into it the better it looked. I like it there and am selling thebeach house and buying the Winery and building a real log cabin. I saw Major Jim and said Diane we need to wrap this up, as we all need to get to the site. She said, understood but I would like bring the camera crew and do a follow up? I said sure. In the parking lot I lowered the roof and noticed Diane looking at the car as I drove away. At the site I was surprised how many people there were and it was an hour before we were scheduled to start. I went right to the trailer and made sure my tie was correct and grabbed a hard had and left for the building. At the building I saw Major Jack with the Admiral and 4 bored guys. I went up to them shook the Admiral's hand and introduced myself to the astronauts. I asked about the trip up and was told it was ok as it was the flying hotel room. He, indicating the Admiral, would not let us fly up in real jets. I laughed and said well budgets are what they are. As we were walking I said Admiral, I hope you like the logo, I had it changed to fit into the theme of the building. He stopped dead in his tracks and said, you did what? Well the logo is the same and it is a disk and it is the same size, the material and technology changed. I had PPG look at it and it is 1" solid very clear glass and a very thin band around the circumference contains a newly developed light. Well not new but not commercially available, something called an LED light, uses much less energy and lasts a very long time. I heard one of the astronauts say, "Fuck, I might like this kid". Oh Admiral, I also added one on this side of the building, just so the people driving by can see it. On the way to the area where the ceremony was being held, I chatted with the astronauts. I asked how much PR they had to do? I was told well this is the first since our last mission, we were on the crew with the new spacesuits and the fixed arm. We are hoping your people, responsible for this, are here. I shrugged and said, well they were invited but it is Sunday. Then I saw Diane and her crew and introduced the Admiral and the astronauts and went looking for Major Jim. He was easily found and I asked if he wanted to take the Admiral and the astronauts to South Hills after and he said well that would be awesome. I asked patio or inside and he said patio. I finally saw dad, who as always very visible at these events was having a blast. I went up to him and got a big hug. Dad, Major Jim would like to take his NASA group to South Hills after this, would you like to accompany them? He smiled and said absolutely. I laughed and said just Bill my account and I'll expense it. The smile got bigger. I immediately called Mike at South Hills and set it up and asked for a somewhat private spot on the patio. He hesitated until I told him who would be with dad, then he was all in. There was an announcement that we would be starting in 5 minutes and would everyone please find a seat. I started for my seat and was stopped by Major Jim and he said wait for the others, this is my show. Once everyone was together Major Jim said once you are introduced just take a seat where you see your name. Just as the Major started up the steps, an arm went around my shoulder and I was s asked, are you ready? It was dad and I laughed and said I think but a lot of this is by the seat of my pants. It's all in my head somewhere. The Admiral was first then the astronauts with a brief thing about their flights and qualifications. Then dad was introduced as Mike Simmons Sr. I just laughed when he introduced me as Mike, Jr. as I sat down I looked at dad and said you two are toast, I talk last. Dad just laughed. I just sat there half listening and half figuring out what I wanted to say. I did hear the Admiral mention the robotics program. The astronauts were more funny than substance which was good. I finally looked out at the assembled group and was shocked to see people standing. In the front row I saw the Mayor, some county people, 3 congressmen and a US Senator. I thought damn, I guess I'm going to South Hills as well, something I was hoping to avoid. Then it got serious for me as dad was introduced. He looked around and said this is unbelievable that all of you would show up on a Sunday to see what two signs hanging on the wall looked like. Well you will be disappointed as you have seen that logo before. People laughed and dad continued. You see, I'm not here to see them and I hope they don't block the view from my office. I'm here because what you see around you, originated in the mind of someone very special to me, my son Mike. Not only did it originate in his mind but it exists today solely because of him. That is not to diminish the team that he put together, they are his creation as well. Heck the Admiral told me that the astronauts had to fly with him in what they call the hotel room because the last time astronauts flew here on their own, Mike not only got a ride in a jet, he stole Major Jim. There was more laughter. You see I sell and Mike negotiates. I sell and Mike cleans up, organizes and makes sure it makes money. You have no idea how many times I sell something and he says, dad what are the real numbers, we will see? While I built a great company, I housed it in a dump and now they get this. None of this matters to me, what matters is that Mike and I have a very special relationship and I force him to take the time to be a teen. Yup, he fights me and those are pretty much the only times we have issues. These events should alway be of interest, to the media, so listen closely. It is my pleasure to introduce to you the Chairman of MJS Technologies, my boss and my Son Mike. I sat there for a few seconds composing myself and grabbed the microphone and looked at the crowd. All of a sudden I saw a bunch of guys standing in the back put hard hats on and they started yelling MIke, MIke, Mike. Totally blown away again, I just stood there. Off in the corner, I saw Diane, stunned staring with her mouth open. I took a deep breath and tried to start and now the NASA workers all stood with Technologies tee shirts. I was wondering if I should just say thanks and sit down. I simply said thank you a couple of times to quiet thing down. I looked back at dad mouthed thank you and saw a tear on his cheek. I turned around took another deep breath. Faced the crowd and said ......... IF POSSIBLE PLEASE FIND A WAY TO SUPPORT NIFTY, THEY NEED YIUR HELP TO KEEP THESE STORIES COMING. THANKS FOR FOLLOWING THE STORY AND FOR THE COMMENTS.
