I went back inside the house to make sure things were in order and
Colleen said lad, thanks for lunch. I was unaware you could cook all that
on the grill. Colleen I'm glad you enjoyed it. Then she asked did you
and the lass get enough exercise? I laughed and said, yup all the cardio
I'll need for today. She shook her head and started dinner. I went to my
room, already done with the new room thing and started to organize what
was being given away. I went to my room and looked around. While the room
was a good size it was a bit smaller than my other room. There was one
place where the desk would fit but there would be no room for additional
seating and that would be an adjustment. The upside is that the bedroom
would be my private space and I was liking that idea as all my other
private spaces existed in my head in public places. The other big
adjustment would be going outside to eat and I had promised the rents I
would do meals. Then I thought well good practice for college from the
dorm to the cafeteria. I just laughed at the thought of a dorm. As it was
just about dinner time, I went to the house and only Colleen was there
finishing up so I went to get my pictures. Well sadly there weren't that
many as there was the AP picture and the picture with Jim and the metal.
Then I remembered the picture of Ray and I and thought well that needs
framed. Then I decided I need a picture of Cole with Liam and hopefully I
would get that at the next tournament, I wanted him dressed in one of
those crazy outfits. As I was taking the pictures off the wall, I
realized I needed a picture of dad and Megan as I can't remember dad
this content. I grabbed the pictures and started down stairs and then I
thought I better leave room for a picture of my sister. I had no idea
where that thought came from so I simply piled the pictures on the floor,
by the door and went looking for dad and Megan.


That was an easy find as they were talking out back and when I saw dad
laugh I simply turned grabbed the pictures and went to my room. I grabbed
a beer from the refrigerator and went back to the house. Megan and dad
were getting the table ready for dinner, something I had never seen
before and before they saw me I took a quick picture. Megan saw that and
said no way do I ever want to see that but if you need a picture take
this one and she grabbed dad and kissed him intensely. I laughed and
said, there is no way I'm looking at that every night before I fall
asleep. Dad smiled and said or when you have special company over in the
afternoon? I replied, yup that too. Then I added, so dad are you firing
Colleen or am I? Megan said well Mike actually it was the glasses in the
dishwasher not Colleen. Dinner was macaroni, chicken, spinach,
mayonnaise, cheddar cheese and right out of the oven. Something different
and very good and filling. Dad, Megan and I had a fun and very relaxing
meal but I was missing Cole. Once we were finished dad and I cleaned up
and talked but when I told him I needed to get to the office for a while
tomorrow, I got a firm that's not happening. You are there all day
Monday and Tuesday and everyone knows you are working from home. In fact
I brought a bunch of shit home for you to review. I said deal but I'm
bored. I'll see you later as I need to go to the mall. Mike, get a damn
hair cut while you are there. I laughed and said, that's actually on the
list, later.


I went to my room, collected the picture of Ray and I and left for the
mall. I went directly to the frame shop and the owner was glad to see me
as he knew he was getting a nice order. I showed him the picture and
asked for the same frame. Then I asked if he could print a picture from
my phone and I was given an email address and sent the picture of Megan
and dad and said same frame. Again I was asked anything else? I said well
very shortly I will need 3 more pictures framed all the same 8" x 10"
so please order the parts. I was told that it would be a week and I paid
for all the parts and went to the hair salon. Caleb was just finishing up
and he indicated 5 minutes so I picked up a magazine and sat down. He
eventually came over and asked well how is my shaggy dog? I laughed and
said don't start but I have a bit of a new idea. He sat down and said,
I'm all ears but no guarantee I'll do it. Every time you come in here
your profile is higher and I won't be blamed for that mess on your
head.


I was already tired of this shit and said, well no one knows you cut my
hair and unless you are paying me I'm not an advertisement or a model.
He laughed and said well you should be. I ignored that and said Caleb,
what I want is short sides and sharp edges and fettered to the Curley top
only about a third as long. It needs to fit into a fucking football
helmet. He said hold on, one second. He returned with a book, flipped a
few pages and asked, like this? I looked at the picture and said yes but
no streaks. Mike, that's perfect and would be better with a scruffy
look. I laughed and said well that's a few years away. Caleb was taking
his time and being very careful and an hour later I looked in the mirror
and had a more refined, grownup look and thought well that's perfect, I
looked to be in my early 20's and aging me would be useful. I thanked
Caleb and gave him a big tip and he said now that you did that it's a
monthly deal. I looked at him and said dude, understood and as much as I
like this there is no issue.


At home I went straight into the house grabbed an iced tea and found dad
and Megan, once again outside talking. When I went out they both looked
at me and dad smiled and Megan stared with her mouth open. So guys, any
thoughts, it can all be undone in a month? Megan answered for both of
them saying, damn little Mike just grew up and got a big boy haircut.
I'm not sure I would ever change it but can you please talk with Cole. I
said thanks, I think, but Cole isn't my issue, well with haircuts. We
chatted for a while and I said good night and went to my room. Once there
I called Mary Ann and she answered saying, damn we were together all
afternoon and I get a call how is that possible. Then she laughed and
said Mike, I'm glad you called and this afternoon was awesome. So how
about we set up a double date tomorrow with JJ and Terri? She said sure
but in the evening and I told her I would talk wit JJ and get back to her
and we hung up.


I called JJ and it went to voicemail so I decided to reconnect my stereo
system and listen to some relaxing music and it was great not to need the
headphones as there was no one to disturb and the classical stuff I like
is better played loud. I threw myself on the bed and picked up some
reading material for school and about an hour later JJ called asking
dude, what's up? I asked about a double date tomorrow evening and he
said sure, how about miniature golf and then hang out at McDonald's. I
laughed and said perfect. So JJ, have you gotten in her pants yet? He
replied, nope and if it doesn't happen soon you will be getting an SOS
and my balls are turning blue. I laughed me said good night and hung up.
I was actually wishing he would have asked to come over. I was into the
reading as it was history and the period just before WWII and the
industrial development interested me as did the end or the Great
Recession.  I read for a long time and then showered, stripped and fell
asleep.


The morning run was JJ and I and we picked up the pace and as a result we
were finished earlier than usual and we were standing in his driveway
talking when a neighbor wandered by and I asked if they could please take
a picture. JJ just shrugged and I put my arm around his shoulder and we
posed for the picture. I thanked the neighbor and was thinking that would
do until there was a special moment. This stopping at the house for
everything was already getting old and I was going to shop for a coffee
machine and coffee today. I was looking at the paper and as soon as there
was coffee I filled my travel mug and went to my room. It was a great
shower and I was able to towel my hair dry and was thrilled with that. I
finished my coffee and went back to the house and was looking for dad and
more importantly the information he had for me. Dad wasn't around but
two large envelopes were on the table with a note asking that I not over
do it. One was labeled Legal Invoices and the other MJS Personal
accounts. I started towards my room and a truck pulled into the driveway
and out jumped two guys and then a car pulled behind the truck and two
more guys jumped out. Inside things happened quickly and within 30
minutes I was asked so where's the desk? In the house and upstairs the
glass top was removed and two guys carefully carried it down the stairs
to the apartment. The steel base was more difficult as was the pedestal.
It was all very painless and the desk was reassembled and they were on
their way.


I moved things around in the apartment and reloaded the desk pedestal. I
placed the envelopes on the desk and got a glass of ice water. I sat down
and opened my financial statement and saw a checking balance of
$78,410.12 and a saving account balance of $113,400.00. I also noted that
my take home pay was $6,261.25 a month. Then there was the investment
account and as I was vague aware of the stocks, bonds and mutual funds, I
just looked at the bottom line which said $2,037,856.10. So personally in
cash and investments I was worth a little more than 2 million dollars. I
was stunned at that number sitting there at little risk. I felt that the
only real risk was the large investment in Apple stock. Then I thought
about Technologies and that number would be unreal but, that was a guess
and I needed real numbers.


The next envelop contained a sealed envelope from an audit firm and when
I opened it there were 6 months of invoices from Tim's company and a
summary sheet and the total was $75,000 and a return to Enterprises of
$7,500 as per the agreement. The audit indicated that the invoices
reviewed were appropriate charges to Technologies. A smaller amount of
$9,000 was billed to Enterprises and there was no refund to Enterprises
and the charges were appropriate and approved. Then I called my financial
adviser and asked how I transferred money from checking to my investment
account and I was told to send a check and how to have it made out. I sat
at the desk and wrote a check for 30k and thought I would hand deliver it
since I would be out and I included a note asking for investment
suggestions. Well things were off to a good start and so far so good.


The first stop was to drop off the investment check and it was near the
mall and I noticed a Bed, Bath and Beyond store and was able to get a
better toaster, a drip coffee pot and some other pots and pans and added
a tea pot. Then there were sheets and towels. I put everything on a
credit card and intended to have dad pay me for all that. I was starving
and pulled into the McDonalds and ordered a big Mac, fries and and iced
tea. It was at the drive thru but I parked in the lot, turned on some
music and ate and checked messages on my phone and there was nothing to
deal with I called Cole. When he answered I asked, so how are things? He
said I'm working my ass of but it's worth it. I just let that go and
said well I'm out of your room so you are set to go. He said thanks and
asked if I talked with David? Cole, he called and Ruth told him I was out
till Monday and he asked that I call him when I get back. Cole what do
the two of you need? MJ all the tickets are gone and he wants to know how
you would feel about requesting another block of tickets? Cole, you know
that answer. MJ, can he buy more? I laughed and said I really don't give
a fuck as that ship has sailed. Ok MJ, will him buying more tickets piss
you off? Look Cole, I think it is a bad idea period but you are already
in and remember you need to play well and at least make the cut. MJ I
thrive on that shit and it will be what it becomes. Look Cole, fans are
fickle but I bet the tour will like the numbers but these new spectators
will act differently. However, you can deal with David so I won't call
Monday. Look Cole, enjoy you time up there and I'll see you Sunday and
we can talk more.


I decided to go to school and workout and when I got there I was thrilled
to see that there weren't many cars in the parking lot and inside was
the same. I quickly changed and it was great as not having to wait for
the next phase of the program. The only downside was that coach was
watching the entire workout. I took a quick shower and as I was leaving
coach said Mike, a minute please. I took a deep breath and said sure.
This time it was different and he pulled up a stool and sat in front of
my locker. I grabbed another stool and asked, what's up? Well the
preseason state ranking are out and we are ranked #1. I just put my head
down thinking, that's the last thing we need. Coach laughed and said my
feelings exactly, we don't need this. So coach what else? Well Mike it
was only a matter of time but your celebrity as finally caught up with
team and the school. Mike let's look at both parts and team first. We
were very good last year and on paper we are better, we play in the top
class of one of the most respected and largest high schools leagues in
the country. We are ranked number one in that league and now number one
in the state. Those ratings are deserved? Legends of the NFL have come
out of this league. What you don't know is that USA Today will rate us
early next week as one of the top teams in the country. We are that good.
Then there is you, the top district player or the year, top ranked high
school linebacker, in the top ten as a full back. Ok coach, what is this
all about? Mike, do you remember what the last thing that Diane said to
you after your last ABC interview? Yup, that she was referring me to the
sports department. Coach said correct. Mike added to your more than more
than outstanding athletic ability and you intellect and streets smarts,
you toyed with one of the most respected journalists in the country and
from all reports won that skirmish. Then after toying with her for a
couple more hours you in one of the most remarkable 15 minutes I have
witnessed, thrown a curve by your dad, pulled off the NASA deal, and
challenged everyone to keep up, including members of the US Senate. Those
15 minutes gave her what she couldn't  drag out of you. Coach, what do
they want? Mike, ESPN wants to follow us from camp till we finish,
whenever that is. Ok coach, what do you need from me as it seems like it
is a school board thing. Mike, Dr. Johnson and I along with the
Superintendent and a Board member would like to meet with you Monday.
Coach don't take this the wrong way but I am committed to being in the
office all day Monday and Tuesday as all the managers are at a
conference. The choices are come to the office or to South Hills in the
evening. Mike, I'll get back to you. I smiled and said that works and I
love fucking with these network people. Understand this won't be about
me 24/7.


So coach, how is Sam? Mike, he is very much a work in progress and a hard
case. Well coach I couldn't be happier he is your problem. Then I said
well I get the reputation of the district and all that but all the
legionary programs had one things in common, the program was more
important than the individual. Either you bought in early or played a
different sport. You will also notice that none of those "great
programs" had more than one sport that succeeded. Well let me know about
Monday but I need to get going, date night.


As I walked to the car I called JJ and told him I was running late and I
would pick up Mary Ann and change after I picked her up and we could meet
at my place and take one vehicle. He said great and I got in the car,
roof down.  I rang the bell and one of the twins answered and I said hi
TJ and he shook his head and said, how the fuck do you do that? I
shrugged and he yelled Peanuts either you have a new boy friend or the
old one has had a makeover. I fund that funny and asked, where it Twin 2?
We just got back from closing the apartment and shipped stuff home. We
will look for a place tomorrow and housing costs are great here. I said,
well let me know if I can help. TJ looked right at me and said, well I
thought we already did and we are waiting for an answer. Just then Mary
Ann appeared looked at me and said, wow that's an awesome haircut but
are you really playing miniature golf in long pants? As we were leaving
TJ said later Dude and I turned, looked right at him and said yup, much
later and Peanuts and I got in the car.


As soon as we were in the car I was asked so what was that all about? I
smiled and said just a guy thing and I leaned in and kissed her. With the
roof down it was a quiet ride but she reached over and put her hand on my
thigh and shit I was getting hard. At home JJ and Terri were talking in
the driveway and I left Mary Ann in the driveway and flew inside and
grabbed the first pair of shorts I could find and a matching golf shirt
and was back outside in a flash. JJ immediately said MJ you are driving
as Terri and I need some back seat time. Mary Ann and I both laughed at
that and it was all of 10 minutes backseat time as Cool Springs was
close. There was a short wait and JJ said T and I bet we win. Ok JJ,
what's the bet and he said well losers pay for food at McDonalds and
before I could say Mary Ass said we'll take that bet. JJ looked at me
and I said not yet and besides it isn't necessary. JJ smiled and
whispered not even for old times sake? JJ, I replied, not now. The golf
was fun but Mary Ann and I managed an easy win as T (as JJ was calling
her) could have been better.


At McDonalds we did the drive thru and it was drinks for everyone an JJ
took a break from making out and paid the bill. We got out of the car and
Mary Ann laughed and said so we return to the scene of the crime. Well
babe, please don't return to that shy, innocent girl who hit on me. She
laughed and said well that ship sailed when we became a couple. I
actually laughed at that. We walked around and talked with classmates and
were having a great time. Several guys asked if we were doing practice in
the morning and I said sure as it's the last easy one. Then two of
Sam's buddies came up and asked the same question and I said well ask
Sam. The both looked at me and said Mike, don't be like that
collectively we are putting him in his place and just wanted to give you
a heads up. I said thanks and yes, I'll be there and thanks guys. As
Mary Ann and I walked back to the car, I stopped turned her to me and
gave her a giant kiss. Horned went off and people yelled get a room and
she wasn't interested in stopping so neither was I. When we broke the
kiss I was immediately slapped across the face and she pulled into
another kiss and when this kiss ended she looked me in the eye and said
well now that we have both staked our claim, let's go somewhere quiet. I
took her hand and we walked to the car and I was thinking damn, she is a
lot like me.


When we got back to the car, I laughed as JJ had put the roof us and I
looked at Mary Ann and said, just give them some time? She looked in the
window, discretely, and said well this won't talk long it's only a
blowjob and he has been horny all night. I laughed, leaned against the
car and kissed her and she felt my hard on and said, MJ I don't do cars
and definitely not parking lots and we both laughed. Shortly the roof
went back down and I asked, if you two are finished, we should be getting
out of here as it's getting late. I dropped JJ and T off and asked JJ to
call me in an hour. Back at Mary Ann's house we kissed good night and

when a twin came out asking if I needed help? I looked at him and said JT
it's good to see you? He said fuck, now I lost a bet with TJ as he was
sure you could tell us apart. How do you do that and I simply shrugged
and got in the car. Suddenly the door was open and JT stuck his head in
and said Mike, it doesn't matter you are shagging my sister, we both
want a piece of you and trust me it won't be much later. Enjoy the rest
of your evening and he closed the door.


I couldn't get out of there fast enough and that short comment just blew
me away. Back in my room I stripped to my boxer briefs and was just
laying there thinking when JJ called. Ok MJ what's up and yes I made
