Date: Mon, 9 Aug 2021 13:49:35 +0000 (UTC) From: Mike Simmons Subject: It was always about the bets 272 Dad, Cole and I walked around for a while and headed for the restaurant. The Major and JJ were nowhere to be seen until we went inside and they were at the bar. It appeared that JJ had a soft drink and Jim a beer. As soon as JJ saw me he got up and got right in my face and said outside and now. I smiled and said, let me get the table and I'll be right with you. I went to the hostess and gave my name and said we will need 6 instead or 5. That was no issue and i excused my self and followed JJ outside. Once we're were clear of other people he got in my face and asked, what the fuck you up to? JJ what do you think I'm up to? MJ, who the fuck knows with you? Why meet with Administration and the football coach? JJ, I wanted to chat with the coach and he wasn't available and we can talk about that later but if your ass is concerned I'm playing football here all I can do is shake my head. If there was a change, and there won't be, you will be the first to know. As for the rest Admiral Lynch and I shook hands on a multimillion dollar deal that will put us in a position to lead educational grade books for years. Now can we please eat, I want crab cakes. JJ said MJ I'm not done asking questions but it can wait. At the table Major Jim asked about the empty seat and I smiled and replied Admiral Lynch. Jim looked at me and asked Michael you have been shitty all day, just cut the crap and tell me. Jim, I had a meeting with him and I invited him for dinner, do you know him? Just then I heard Jim, I didn't know you would be here? Jim jumped to his feet and they shook hands. Seats were rearranged and Jim and Tom had a great time catching up. I would need to explore that relationship. Dinner was everything I hoped for and my salad and crab cakes were outstanding. The others ordered various seafood dishes with Cole having lobster and JJ copied my crab cakes. Dad some how managed surf and turf. The Major and Admiral each had a seafood platter. There were drinks and cappuccinos after and Cole and JJ and I had a great time watching the "adults". Finally at 8:15 or so we were on our way to the airport. Dad and the Major insisted on a cab to the airport and I didn't care as I was getting nervous about the flight. It was my first flight at night and it would be dark. The IFR flying didn't bother me as I have messed with that for a while and was certified for that. The required flight plan was submitted and the weather checked and everything looked good. It was rapidly getting dark and in the diminishing light the pre-check was more difficult. We finally got on board and The Major was in the front seat beside me and I looked at him and started to ask about the drinking and he said Mike, I'm just near to watch and I'm sure you have this. The takeoff went smoothly and we were quickly on our way. True to his word Jim just sat and watched. It was a fantastic night as the stars were amazing. The Major said Mike, don't get carried away watching and watch for your markers and stay on course so people know where you are. Also, if the stars disappear call for me, I'll send JJ up. Pay attention. Fuck he didn't have to tell me that as everyone back there were more than very important to me. JJ was clearly pissed and I mentioned football and we discussed how pissed the coach might be. JJ assured me it would be more than a little pissed. By the time I did the tower check at Altoona I was relaxed and when we did Somerset I asked JJ to send his dad up and JJ simply said MJ we got this and we have both spent countless hours in a simulator. Just deal with it if necessary abort the landing and then I'll get dad. I took a deep breath and thought for a minute and then agreed. As we approached Allegheny Tower I checked in with location and checked ATIS and found a calm field and was told to enter the pattern. I was actually glad as it gave me more time to scout the approach. After a few minutes we were cleared to land and I saw the lights I expected and checked the instruments and damn with all the help from the instruments and the runway lights it was a good landing. It was a very good trip and very productive but I needed to mend some fences with both JJ and his dad. There were a lot of cars and Cole insisted on driving dad home saying he was in no condition to walk let alone drove. I was glad that Cole was aware and that I could be alone. At my place I stripped and jumped into the shower. I dried off grabbed a pair of gym shorts and went looking for a beer and found JJ naked on the loveseat. I just shook my head and grabbed 2 beers and he said MJ, I'm not here for that, I want makeup sex? I laughed and said well that's not possible as I wasn't fighting. He took the beers and returned them to the refrigerator. He pulled me to my feet and pulled my shorts off and started to kiss me and it was an intense tongue fight and we ended up in my bed. The making out got more intense and he reached behind me and was playing with my hole. We were both hard as a rock and I broke off a kiss and asked, so where do you want my load and he said MJ, I only care where I put my load and I want it in your ass. I smiled and kissed him and said well then it's a flip fuck and we better get to it as we have school today. Before I knew I was on all fours and JJ was pounding my ass and damn it was so good I was sure I would shoot my load on the sheets. I was so close and then he grabbed my shoulders and shoved is 8" cock balls deep with one intense thrust and held it there while he unloaded deep in my ass and I lost it and shot a load on the sheets. When he pulled out I flipped over and we kissed and he said well that was better than makeup sex. I laughed and we kissed again and I said now get out of here, I need another shower. I was glad to see things were good with JJ and now I needed to check on the Major. At school somehow JJ and I pulled in at the same time and walking into the building there was no Carrie but I saw Rob and went straight into AP English and immediately sprang a boner when I saw the teacher and it didn't help that she came right up to me and handed me an assignment list and said, I hope you are feeling better, you were missed yesterday. Class was ok and I was paying attention but didn't realize that you could have a hard on for 40 minutes. History was a disaster, well for my schedule as I still had that English essay and now a history paper on preparing for WWII and I naturally decided on the industrial side of gearing up for war. Physics was starting to be a pain and the was mostly as it didn't interest me at all. Gym was Mon, Wednesday and Friday so I was glad for the study hall. I decided to stay at school for lunch to try to get the lay of the land for football. Jim, JJ, Josh were seated together and Wyatt plopped his tray on the table and asked, Jim are you telling these assholes or am I. Jim shrugged and Wyatt said guys coach is beyond pissed about the "purple flu". No one missing practice yesterday will play tomorrow. I looked at Wyatt and said you want to bet? Wyatt laughed and said well another time because when we get behind and we will, coach will cave. Mike, I am looking forward to a bet and he smiled. I laughed and said well Wyatt, it might not be the type of payment you are thinking. Knowing it was a very light couple of days at work as Highmark was evaluating the locations and the architects. I decided to go and see if I could calm the coach down when Rob came up to me and asked for a few minutes. I asked if he had class and he said he said he had study hall and would ask for a pass to the library and meet me in the parking lot. I simply agreed feeling sorry for him. I was checking emails and there was nothing important. I started to think about what I needed to say to coach. My being off was planned but I had not discussed it or planned it with anyone else. Rob was right there and handed me an envelope and said Mike, please read it but it is confidential. I said sure and pulled out the paper. It was results form a paternity test. I asked, how is this possible and he said some new test and we both gave blood samples. Mike, just read the results, you are responsible for this. I simply started to read the paper and was so pissed off I had to read it a second time as Carrie was not having Rob's kid. The brat belonged to some other unlucky dude. Rob, does Carrie know about this. He replied, I guess she got the same report I got. Rob, why would she do this to you? Mike, I'm guessing she was pimping herself out for business and that the real father is older and married. Actually, I was going to break it off with her when this blew up. Rob, what did your rents say? Well Mike, they are happy but still pissed, they are still having a hard time with me having sex and dad is furious about unprotected sex. Mike, she maintained she was on the pill. Look Rob, I remember and hell I gave in on that but things can happen. Hell, Jim says antibiotics eliminate the protection. So Rob what's next? Well I'm telling everyone that will listen what a lying tramp she is and getting an attorney. I want a restraining order and I never want to see her fucking face again. I'm hoping she drops out. Well Rob, let me know how I can help. He laughed and said well find me a new girlfriend. I said well I'm done with mine you want a shot. He laughed out loud and said, been there and done that, I'll pass. Well Rob, I am glad that all worked out, well for you. Now I have to fall on my sword with coach. Rob laughed and said well from what I hear it might take more than one. I just shrugged and said, fuck I did that last year and it was ok. With that I headed to the athletic office. At the athletic office Nancy smiled and asked, you feeling better? I shrugged and asked if coach was available? She replied Mike, if I told him you were here he would say he was busy so I would suggest you simply walk in and sit down and he will either talk with you or tell you to get out. I started for his office and Nancy said Mike, as you always do just tell the truth. I gave her a thumbs up and simply went in and sat in a guest chair. He was on the phone and he quickly ended the conversation. I told Nancy I didn't want to see you. Coach she has been around long enough to be able to deal with male egos. Cut the crap where is you excuse for being absent yesterday? I opened my backpack took out a pen and a tablet and wrote; " Please excuse Michael Simmons from Class on September 12 as he had a stomach virus" I signed it and handed it to coach. He actually laughed out loud and said, I assume you know that doesn't cut it? Well coach as I am a homeless, emancipated 17 year old you will find that it actually does work. Oh, Megan and Mike Simmons are kind enough to let me live in their guest house. He shook his head and asked, where the fuck were you yesterday? I simply said Annapolis. I had a meeting at the Naval academy and I wanted crab cakes. Who was with you? Well my biological dad, JJ his dad and Cole. Ok, why JJ? Well his dad dragged him along as we are certifying to fly a corporate just and he needed IFR hours and I needed night flying. So we combined all that with the meeting with Admiral Lynch. Before you ask, I have no idea where anyone else was and I wasn't aware of the so called "purple flu". Mike, I need you guys at practice, 7 starters took the damn day off and now you are not playing the first half and the two quarterback are benched for different reasons and Clark from the JV team will start. You said something interesting before the Central game about not needing a win and you could make the playoffs without that win. We will have to see how that goes this week. Now please get out of here, I have work to do. Coach, thanks for listening and I left closing his door. Nancy immediately asked so how did that go? I said not good and I made a choice. I had a business meeting at the Naval academy the resulted in a deal that will net the company 1 million dollars in 6 months and employ 20 to 25 people for as they want to work for us. As for the others, JJ's dad dragged him along as we needed hours in the air because I bought a jet and we want to fly the damn thing. I think I didn't explain it very well and he needs to treat JJ and me like the others, heck an undefeated season wasn't on my goal list so I don't care. He can explain it to the media. However he needs to work with Wyatt and Jim rather that sit them out because his offensive coordinator is unhappy. Wyatt is so much better than me it's silly and there is always a faith based education with smaller classes. Nancy, thanks as I appreciate the help today. I checked in at work and was asked to contact Major Jim. I immediately called the Major and he said two things first, we need to talk and secondly you need a couple more night landings. I said ok, when you free and he said how about tonight after practice. I said sure and I'll meet you there. Thinking this was going to be a complicated evening, I drove home and made a small salad and a sandwich and tried to chill out. I was actually kicking myself because all of this drama was self inflicted. At school it was helmets, jerseys and shorts. It was the usual walk through and special teams and JJ's replacement dropped half the punts hit to him. The seven outcasts just sat and watched. Looking at it they would mercy rule us. At the end we were all called together and coach said, there is a pep rally tomorrow and the following are excused, Mike, JJ, Jim, Josh, Adam, Wyatt, Todd and Carl. Wyatt and Jim were livid and visibly upset and then I heard ALL FOR ONE and everyone replied ALL FOR ONE. The Offensive Coordinator screamed, who started that. Then I heard I'm Spartacus and looking closer the helmet was takes off and he knelt down. Then it started and everyone was Spartacus and everyone was kneeling with their helmets off. I waited till the end and I looked right at the coach and said I'm Spartacus and took my helmet off only I simply walked to the locker room and everyone followed. Coaches were yelling get back here and no one even turned around. About 5 minutes later the coaches entered a very quiet locker room and Coach Weston said captain's, my office. Josh said, not me coach you can't shove this mess on me, you need to talk with everyone. Ok Josh, have it your way. I'll see the other 4 captains. At that point I decided to weigh in and I said well coach I would bet you don't have any captains and what you have is a full blown revolt. Understand this isn't the PURPLE FLU group this is about the two QB's. Oh, then there is the unhappy coordinator. Coach, why don't we all take a step back and you call a meeting with tomorrow? Mike, I can do that but it will be after lunch. Coach, I don't work on game day and besides I wouldn't miss this for anything. With that the coaches retreated to coach Weston's office. Just then the offensive coordinator stormed out of the office got in front of me and said Simmons, you don't run this team. I stood up and towered over him and said coach that is Mike or Mr. Simmons and you might be surprised to find out that we collectively run this team. So some advice, adjust or coach somewhere else. Just then Josh and JJ were beside me and Josh said coach, that's enough. Please get out of our locker room and let's deal with this tomorrow. With that I put my gear away and took the quickest shower of my life and changed into jeans and a tee and started for the door. JJ stopped me and ask MJ, where is the fire? I said a meeting with your dad. So JJ, how mad is he? JJ laughed and said mad but he knows not to put gasoline on smoking embers, it's fine. Oh, land safely. I laughed and said thanks. At the airport the Major asked, long practice? I said nasty and JJ should tell you about it. Jim said fair enough and he handed me a flight plan. I looked at it and said, Cincinnati? Yup you will land that and Columbus at real airports and then home. So file the plan and let's go. I did that and started the pre-check and Jim said Mike, we're good let's go? I said nope and did a check of my own. Once I checked the fuel level we were ready. Jim looked at me and said you can be and often are a pain in the ass but good job on the prep check. Once we were in the air and with time to talk Jim said Mike, you were way over the line yesterday. Why all the clandestine drama over the trip. Hell, I deserved an honest and decent reply when I inquired. What did I get, NEED TO KNOW. Jim, I'm sorry as I was beside myself as this was my first deal and I didn't want anyone to know in case it blew up. Look Mike, you impressed me from day one, that's why I'm here and you keep things interesting and heck I have a hard time keeping up. Jim, you are special to me and I rely on you for advice and council. I'm aware I was a jerk yesterday but the deal is 4 million and we will easily clear 1 M and be dominant in the educational market for years. Hell, it will employ 20 - 25 people and most of the work is already done. Jim, if you weren't special to me there would be no offer to help with the flight school and besides the money for a dollar a month you can have access to the jet. Mike, I understand all that and we are working on the details. Just be upfront with what you are doing and don't get like your dad. Jim, how is dad? Mike, full of surprised and not all that caring about the people around him. To be honest you are leaning more in that direction. Jim, thanks for that, I didn't realize. Then we concentrated on the flying and Jim was really please with how I dealt with what he called a big boy traffic controller. All the landing and takeoffs were spot on and Jim said he can't wait to see me in the damn jet.It was late when we got back and I drove straight to my place and set the alarm and the coffee and was quickly asleep. The morning and the alarm brought what looked like a great September day but it was different as it was game day and all I wanted was it over. Dress today was jeans and a tee and I grabbed a travel mug and was off to school. This time the parking lot was full of teammates standing around and not one of us wanted to go inside as we had no idea what to expect. I saw Josh talking with a group of guys and put my arm around him and quietly said just walk with me into the building. Josh, it will be what it becomes and this time we might control the becoming. Classes were classes and the sexy English teacher didn't change my pissed off state. If Jim and Wyatt were not reinstated coach has lost the team. Such a shame as all he had to do was be the dude who coached us last year. The morning went on and on and then lunch and noon and I was thinking there would be no meeting. It was now 2:00 and no meeting and pep rally was due to start at 2:45. I went to the car and lowered the roof and was checking email and still nothing. JJ, Josh and Wyatt came out as they were finished and were blowing off study hall. None of us were going to the pep rally, well as players but we damn well were going in as students. Then Jim came and joined us and said that the pep rally was cancelled. So Jim any announcement about a meeting? Jim shrugged and said, I guess there won't be one. We just milled around talking and then it happened. Chad came out and yelled meeting in 10 minutes cafeteria. I put the roof back up and was the last player in the cafeteria. I looked around and all the coaches were there as was Dr. Johnson. Dr. Johnson said good afternoon and I know you all would have liked this meeting to be earlier but believe it or not I have other things to do than babysit a varsity football team and their staff. I'll deal with the staff first. You guys are very good and knowledgeable and did a great job last year. This years team is more experienced and one of the best teams in the country. That requires some flexibility on your part. I will tell both groups the ONE FOR ALL, ALL FOR ONE thing includes the team and the coaches. Figure it out and do it sooner than later. Then he looked at us and he said collectively cut the crap and do that right now. I am aware that the elephant in the room is a faith based education and smaller classes. GET OVER IT. Heck I wasn't happy to have to do that and we did it to make thing better not worse. That individual would never been an important part of this team, nor future teams. Everyone knows you are an excellent team, smart and football smart. That doesn't mean you can ignore the coaches and you are responsible to open the line of communication and explain what you are seeing and they need to listen and clearly explain their thoughts. I demonstrated last year that rules are important. The issue involved is an illness and a signed written excuse signed by a parent. That means you don't practice or play that day and that ends it. I have that from everyone but one individual and he will come to my office as soon as this meeting is over. Understand coaches have a lot of latitude in dealing with players. I will not interfere with that EVER. I'm not taking questions. Figure out how to play in the same sandbox and he simply walked out. Just at the door he turned and said kick some ass tonight. With that over coach Weston said everyone is reinstated for tonight. I need to see Jim and Wyatt in my office and please bring a captain. Then he said dinner at 5:30. I simply went to see Dr. Johnson. In his office the secretary said Mike, go right in. Dr. Johnson said have a seat and then he asked so Mike, we're you sick yesterday? I said, I was not. Ok, where were you? I said Annapolis meeting with Admiral Lynch, he is the academy superintendent. I had a business meeting and we had dinner and I flew back as I need night flying hours. So why the ruse? Well it was easier. Mike, was the number of people sick with the PURPLE FLU coordinated, in any way. Doc, not that I am aware of. Who was with you from school? I said JJ and Cole and both parents informed me that would be along. JJ like me needed flying time. Mike, that all could have been excised as an educational event or a college visit. Doc, all I want to do is fly my new Jet the day it is delivered. Mike, I know you have a different view of football this year and you seem to be letting others deal with the drama. Please try to manage them. I said sure and then I was asked is football still important to you? I thought for a minute and said yes, but it is less fun. Mike, it get less fun every time you move up a level. I smiled and said, I know and I doubt I'll play 3 years at VT but the goal is to start at linebacker there next year. Mike, manage the team for me and I'll keep Chuck in line, can we do that together? I said sure, but it would help is someone taught the offensive coordinator how to deal with the complicated QB situation. They are both trying to deal with their current situation and Jim's health. Dr. Johnson smiled and said Mike, I'm aware. With that I got in the car and found somewhere to be alone and relax. PLEASE IF POSSIBLE SUPPORT NIFTY, THEY MAKE IT EASY AND IT KEEPS THE STORIES COMING THANKS FOR READING AND THE COMMENTS, THEY KEEP THIS STORY ON TRACK.
