As we got up I changed my mind and got dressed as did JJ. Back in the
common room JJ said he had school work and he would see us for the run in
the morning. Once we were alone I asked Cole, are you ok with what you
just saw? MJ, I told you in the bedroom I was cool. Hell, I have
suspected it for a while but you two cover it very well and you are
dating two of the horniest chicks in school. The talk is that for a jock
you are fun in bed. I just shook my head and Cole said MJ, you had no
idea what we talk about when you were in the building all day. With this
1/2 day shit you are out of the loop totally. Cole, JJ and I are still
finding our way in all this and the time at VT will tell the story.
Neither of us are ready to be OUT and we both want kids so there is a lot
to resolve. MJ, don't worry about me as I have a past that isn't for
public conception yet either.


So Cole, what is it you need? Well I have an invite to play in an event
at Bay Hill, it's a charity event for Mrs. Palmer charity. I would leave
Thursday night and be home very late Sunday and I would like Liam to
come. AP will pick us up right after school and I can practice Thursday
night and Friday and the event is Saturday and Sunday. Cole, what did
your mother say? MJ, it was strange as she simply said ok and we didn't
even fight. Cole, what's did Liam say? MJ, he said to check with you. So
that's this weekend? Cole shook his head indicating YES. Cole, I have
structured things with Liam so that he is available so it's up to the
two of you. Cole said thanks and thanks for getting dressed as you do
make me horny. I laughed and said goodnight.


It turned out it wasn't goodnight as I needed to check in at the house
with dad and Megan and I was hoping Ashley was still awake. Ashley was
still awake and Megan let me feed her if I promised not to rile her up as
it was bed time. The feeding went well and Megan took her to bed and I
went to see dad who was in his office. Dad offered me a drink and I shook
my head, indicating no. He asked bout my trip and I said great and that I
ran into Paul Benec and bought the family dinner. Dad laughed and asked,
so what did you do that required that? Oh, just put that bitch Karen in
her place. Oh, I spent a couple of hours with Luke. Dad, you really are
going to need to fill me in on my past up there. Dad laughed and said,
well you two were something else. Did he tell you what you said to Pap
after he took a belt to you and Luke? Dad, he did not but he did tell me
about the smoking and beer dinking and getting caught. Your granddad was
determined to minke both you cry and he made you watch Luke be reduced to
tears. When it was your turn, he couldn't make you cry and you had welts
on your ass for a week. When it was over you looked at him and said well
I guess that's the first of many as the beer was worth the beating. Then
you got dressed and went about your day. Mike, you haven't changed a
lot.


Then I brought up the NASA relationship and dad said just leave the
medallions up as they will be back and that will happen the first time
their tracking system goes down. They have had us running that for years
and with a shuttle in the air it is vital. It might not be this time but
when they go to start it up next time they will need help and an update.
Dad, you seem pretty sure about that, why? Well the startup is
complicated and they have never done it. What about the robotics? Mike,
the NASA thing was a toy and their timing is way off and years too early.
The real robotics is in industry and manufacturing and you already know
that. I would say things are moving in the right direction. Mike, what
about the land purchase? Dr, it will fall through and they will pressure
us to unblock their access and that will not happen. I'm sure there will
not be another traffic light on Second Avenue for a long time and traffic
isn't good as it is. Dad, I want that property and they know that and
don't think I'm patient enough to wait it out. Hell, I would assume the
same thing if I was in their position but they will find out they guessed
incorrectly. Besides the Textronic deal is massive and we will need to
expand and that will be on the 4th floor of the second building. Kyle is
about to sign a deal with their Bell Helicopter division and we will need
need a secure section for that and the grade book thing at the Naval
Academy. Also with that we can launch into grade book for public schools
and your sales force should love that. Dillon will we talking with you
about that and he will be the face of an advertising campaign. The
teachers Unions will be all over it. He said that he would alert the
sales team and work with Dillon to schedule training.

Then I asked, how Cole was doing and dad said well somehow he is winning
the battle with Megan about golf and she said he could skip school and
play this weekend in Florida. Dad does she know about Pebble Beach on
Presidents Day weekend. Dad laughed and said yes and we are going for the
week. Dad who is watching Ash? Mike, she is coming along and we are
taking Colleen along as well and Jim is flying us in one of the Jets. We
are aware you will be taking a jet with JJ, his mother, Cole and Liam. I
laughed out loud and said thanks for the heads up. I'll have meeting and
will also be playing golf. Dad said correct and you and AP and Carole and
Cole have 2 tee times. So dad is there anything else I should know? He
said not right now but you should ask Cole as he controls golf. I laughed
and said well that's cool, to a point but it will be what it becomes.
What neither dad nor Cole knew was that the Pebble Beach outing was a
tryout for an OPEN invite. His previous Tour victory should qualify him
but they didn't want him embarrassed on national TV. With that I said
goodnight and went to my place and school work.


The poem was from Gertrude Stein " A light in the Moon" I hated it the
first time I read and by the 6th time I simply despised it and didn't
understand it at all. Was it a code that I failed to get but if I never
heard the word "notwithstanding" ever again it would be too soon and
that is what I would say in class, hoping that someone had made some
meaning out of it. In history we were not at the point where WWII had
ended and what to do with all the guys coming home and everyone needing a
job, the health concerns and the home building industry and the
governments reaction to all this and the enormous debt we owed these
guys. Then there was my lab partner and what it would take to get in her
pants?


I called JJ and he said damn, I was so nervous I was about to call you.
Dude, relax as Cole is cool and he gets that we might be a couple. Right
now he figures that we will grow out of it get married have kids and fuck
wash other on the side. I told him we were developing slowly and it
wouldn't be till Junior year in College or later till we knew. JJ said
he was glad I could deal with these situations. JJ there was on situation
the kid understands and said thanks to both of us for not being nude when
we came into the common room. We make him horny. JJ laughed and said good
night. I knew I needed to call Heather but it was late and I would deal
with that in the morning.


We had about 3" of snow over night and that wasn't  big deal but it
eliminated the morning run. I simply made coffee and stole dad's paper.
I turned to the business section and discovered that there was nothing of
interest there and in looking at the high school sports section I found
that we had set a record for non final playoff game attendance. That
didn't mean shit to me as all the money went to the league. I finished
my second cup, of coffee and took a shower and dressed for school In
jeans a hoodie, tennis shoes and my letterman's jacket.  At school
Heather was in a good mood and there was no discussion about her dad and
the property. I'm guessing that she didn't really give a fuck one way
or the other. Then I promised to call tonight and we would get together
some night this week. She smiled and said, the next time you go to the
cabin I'm coming and so is Mia, it might be a good idea to bring JJ
along. I just looked and said we will talk about that. Then she tugged on
my jacket and said, I would like that as well. I said babe we will talk
about all that but I worked my ass off for this jacket and I went to
English class.


The first and last question went to one of the girls in the class and as
soon as she said buzzes and stupid the back and forth started. No one
including me had an answer and for the meaning. Finally the teacher said
Mike, you have been pretty quiet, what do you think? I said well
notwithstanding - as soon as I said that word the place went nuts and I
was cheered. I said notwithstanding the bizarreness of the thing it might
just be a different way of looking at things. Someone asked, how did you
come up with that? I said well, actually by sitting here watching you all
trying to figure it out. The bell rang and my life returned to the normal
and something I understood, history. In physics my lab partner said well
isn't the big time jock going to asked me out again? I said babe the
ball is in your court and it takes 8 simple words. I could tell she was
figuring that out and she said, well you will never hear Mike, do you
want to go out sometime pass through these lips. I laughed and the
teacher asked me to quiet down and get to work. We actually finished the
assignment and got great grades and were told to work on calculation wave
heights and that included a water tray and water. I actually got a smile
but class ended and I went to the office and signed out of study hall and
drove to work.


At the office the Chief of Security stopped me and said, you might want
to change into business attire as there is someone waiting for you in
your office a few he handed me the outfit I had in my office, well Chief
who is this very exceptional person and why is he in my office? Mike, he
assured us you knew him and demanded that he be taken up and we took him
up and Liam met him at the elevator. Well Chief, Liam shouldn't have
been put in that position, so who is responsible for not keeping this guy
down here? Mike, I'm responsible for my team. I laughed and asked do you
who Spartacus was and that story? He said yes, I do. Well when I'm
finished with this visitor, I'll be down and I expect real answers or
every one will experience the fate of the multiple Spartacus pretenders.
I handed my change of clothes back to the Chief and got on the elevator.


When I got off the elevator Amy stopped me and said, Mike I imagine that
you blew a gasket downstairs but Liam took charge up here and took a lot
of abuse. Amy do you know who this guy is? Mike, I believe he is the
Union President. I just smiled and said now this makes sense. I went to
my office and saw Rocco in Liam's office. I called Maggie and asked her
to meet me in Security in 45 minutes. Mike, do I need to know what's up?
Well they let a guy up to 4 without an appointment and then took. clothes
out of my office and I might fire the lot of them. She said, I'm on my
way there now I said thanks and Rocco walked in and Liam was yelling at
him. I looked at Rocco and said, I'm not ready for you as I have a
conference call please wait in Liam's office. Just then Tim arrived and
I asked if he was ready for the conference call and Tim said well that's
why I'm here. Rocco clearly unhappy left with Liam.


Once we were alone Tim laughed and said Mike, I get your pissed at him
but we need him. I looked at Tim and said well he isn't going to be rude
and disrespectful to my people and Liam isn't his lackey. Then there is
Security being in my closet and letting him up here. When I question the
Chief all I get is I'm Spartacus. Tim laughed and asked, how do you know
about that old movie? Tim, we use that on the coach a lot. The difference
is that as a team there have been no consequences. Security will find
this situation much different and Maggie is on it. Tim said Mike, we have
a contract with that security company and I'll review the terms and see
if this violates the terms of the contract. Worse case is that they
replace the current crew? Look Tim, I don't care what the legal issues
are and I will interview the new Chief if there is one but things change
and that happens today. I said thanks and Tim went to talk with Maggie.


I went into Liam's office and said Rocco, I'm sorry but my schedule is
never mine anymore. We shook hands and the three of us started towards my
office and Rocco said Liam, how about fetching us some coffee while Mike
and I talk. Liam just didn't know how to react and I said well how about
we all go to the cafeteria and get some coffee, as Liam doesn't fetch.
Liam had a big smile and Rocco said Mike, we need to talk in private.
Well Rocco, Liam is in every meeting I have. Rocco replied, ok I don't
need coffee so we can go to your office. In my office Rocco looked around
and started to laugh saying, well you certainly have come up in the
world. I let that pass and Rocco said, I guess you haven't noticed as we
are moving in later this week but there are issues as the other company
on the 3rd floor is also moving in and there will be elevator issues.
Rocco, those are things that you two need to work out those things with
the other tenant and if that fails talk with Standard Properties. Mike,
surely you can help? Rocco, let me be clear. There was no conference call
as I needed time to calm down and you are very lucky you were not
deposited on Second Avenue. I could understand that you came here with
out an appointment for something important, but this wasn't. I will
never understand you bullying my people and intimidating security and
being rude to Liam. Oh, none of my people fetch. I get my own coffee and
run my own errands. So if you are here to broker a deal for any new
building this isn't the time. I would also remind you that I work with a
lot of unions and while you helped set that up you need to remember who
pays the bills. Rocco was outraged and said and you need to remember who
controls the workers. Rocco, I'm not looking to get into a pissing match
with you. However, you need to understand I could be building 2 or 3
buildings and have work for Union people for a long time. Rocco, all I
would have to do is invite the people who built this building and the one
you are moving into and see if they want to work and who for. So Rocco,
is there anything else? There was no answer so I said, well I'll walk
you out as I need to deal with the security lapses you created. I started
towards the door and Rocco said, well actually I'm not done. I turned
around and said well schedule an appointment as I'm done. Rocco
continued to sit and I laughed and said ok, what is it? He said I'll
need your support for Union President and the election. Well Rocco,
that's a topic for another time but understand I have input and like I
said please make an appointment.


In the lobby, Rocco and I shook hands and I said Rocco, we can work on
you're-election but we need you to stop acting like a bully and show us
the respect we have earned. He nodded and said. I call Liam and set an
appointment and I said thanks. Rocco got in his car and his driver took
him to the other building and I just laughed. Liam said, damn I'm never
pissing you off but thanks for the support. At the Security Office I
found Maggie and Tim outside and I looked through the window and saw
every one cleaning out their desk. I looked at Maggie and asked, what did
you do? She pointed to Tim and he said well they have been reassigned and
new people will be here in an hour. Before I could say anything Tim said
these new people will be much better and you have a 1:00 with the new
Chief tomorrow. Maggie, don't let the two security teams interact and
I'll meet with them later today or tomorrow. Thanks for taking this off
my plate.


I started towards the elevator and Tim yelled for me to hold up. He
handed me my clothes and said, I did come to your office for a reason and
we got distracted. Kirkpatrick called and wanted to meet and I told him
he could meet with me and Liam in the morning. Mike, I told him you were
not interested in meeting with him and he agreed so he is coming here at
10:00 tomorrow. I smiled and said perfect and thanks. Mike, how did it go
with Rocco? Tim, ask Liam as I want an objective read and he will give it
to you, then I'll ask him and see how different the answer is. Tim, I
need to get a good read on him. Mike, that kid is a rockstar. I laughed
and said well he is older than me. Tim shook his head and said well you
are an exception to everything. I spent some time reviewing department
revenues and was actually pleased we let NASA go. Then I checked my
emails and saw that Lee Chen had requested a meeting for Wednesday, I
agreed and copied Liam on my reply and entered that in my calendar. I
turned off the computer and headed for school and the movies.


JJ and I along with Wyatt, Clark, Jim, Josh and Chad sat in the back row
and were ready to see what we were up against. Coach started by telling
us that there were films of two games and that the edit would result in
an hour of plays half of each offense and defense. What you will see is a
BIG team, especially the offensive line, however they are slow and do a
great job run blocking. The quarter back has an above average arm but is
tough as nails. They basically run 80% of the time. Passes are short but
effective. The films started and Coach was spot on except that they
weren't big they were BIGGER by a lot. The other thing was that they
were more than slow. For the pass plays they simply formed a pocket and
the QB. I looked at JJ and he said well I guess I'll need to blitz. Well
JJ, we will need to run a few stunts and beat them before they set up.
Their offense was exactly as coach has said 3 or 4 yards at a time and
long time consuming drives. JJ looked at me and said said MJ, they are
like a wagon train and just plod along. They simply line up and say here
we come and there is nothing fancy, stop us if you can. There were no
tricks and no tells and none were needed. The entire thing was very
straight forward. There was little comment as none was needed, it was
that straight forward. Coach said see you tomorrow, regular time and full
pads.


I took a very quick shower and on the way to the car I called Heather
when she answered I asked if she wanted to do something and she said nope
and things are not good here. I'll see you in school and bring your
jacket. Heather, that simply won't happen. Mike, why not as Carrie had
your jacked. Heather, that taught me a lot and I was dumber back then.
Besides I had a couple of jackets at the time. With the year we are
having it's is way too personal to give away. Ok, I'll take one of the
other jackets and I said, well Cole has one and JJ has the other one so
ask them. It simply won't happen and I'll see you in school. She said
well there needs to be that jacket as well as your sexy body. I curtly
said, GOODNIGHT.


I was hungry and there was no food at my place so I stopped at the Giant
Eagle and picked up a few things. When they scanned my ADVANTAGE CARD I
laughed as I made money. At home it was 2 trips to drag in the groceries.
I was making a chipped ham sandwich with American cheese, lettuce tomato
& mayo. I opened a bag of chips and a beer. I loved that sandwich and as
I was finishing JJ called asking if he could come over. I said sure. JJ
went right to the refrigerator and grabbed a beer and said MJ we are
never dating bitches that are good friends again. MJ, they want our
letterman's jackets and while they have a very short life and will be
meaningless at VT because everyone will have one, and a shit load of
other awards. JJ, calm down and there has to be more to it than those
jackets and Heather added a trip to the cabin. Besides, I would bet that
there isn't a teammate who has parted with their jacket. That's an
after the season for Seniors and that happens about two weeks after our
last game. I gave one to Carrie as I had already outgrown two. Besides as
for for me, I'm looking around.


JJ just looked at me and said fuck, that's different and you only ride
one pony at a time. JJ, I haven't hopped on anything yet but I am
looking over the field. MJ, the real issue is that we don't spend as
much time with them as we should and you are never around school. JJ, the
real issue is that she doesn't turn me on and I have sex with her
because she needs it. It will be what it becomes. We had another beer and
JJ went back to his place.
