Now enjoy Caleb Caleb was running late and knew that he needed to get home quickly to allow his mother time to get to work. Caleb's mother couldn't leave until Caleb got home because his sister, Sheila, needed full time care. Sheila Matthews had been badly injured in the accident that killed their father. The father was drunk at the time of the accident and was speeding trying to outrun the police who were chasing him. In his drunken state he had run through a red light nearly causing an accident. The police had witnessed the incident as they sat in their patrol car having a coffee break. Sheila had been left with no use of her legs and limited use in her arms and hands. Judy Matthews worked the late shift at a feed mill producing feed for farm animals. If Caleb got home from school too late, then Judy would be late for work and would lose pay for each quarter of an hour, or part thereof, that she was late. Working the late shift also meant that there was little to no chance of being able to work overtime to make up that loss of pay. The pay was not that great either which meant that the family was poor and really struggled to make ends meet. But they were a united family who cared for each other very much. Caleb had been held back, after school, by his maths teacher because he was struggling in that subject and the teacher was trying to help him. As much as Caleb tried to explain that he had to get home the teacher seemed to need to explain something more. Caleb was a good twenty minutes late getting away and decided to take a short cut through the old industrial section of the town. The area was mostly abandoned now as it had been rezoned to have housing built on it and there were just a few odd industries working out the end of their leases dotted about the area. Most of the factories were now boarded up waiting to be demolished and Caleb usually didn't go through the area because he was a little scared of going through what was essentially a ghost town. Many of the streets had no active businesses left in them at all. As he turned a corner into one of these deserted streets, Caleb noticed a pair of trainers tied together by the laces hanging over the telephone line stretching across the road, but gave it no further thought except to think that it was such a waste to throw a perfectly good pair of shoes over a telephone line. Caleb only had two pairs of shoes. His school shoes, and a rather worn pair of trainers. Both of which had come second hand from a charity shop. His school uniform was also second hand bought at the school's thrift shop. Caleb hadn't got more than five meters down the road when he was hailed by a shout from beside one of the abandoned buildings. "Who said you could enter our territory?" The question came from Jeremy Cobb. Or Jerry as he was mostly called. Caleb didn't know Jerry so he simply answered that he didn't know it was his territory as it was a public road. "Didn't you see the markers at the start of the road?" Jerry asked again now walking up to Caleb. "What markers?" Caleb asked. He had to look up to Jerry as he was a good head taller than Caleb. "The fucking shoes. Didn't you see the trainers on the wires?" Jerry asked as a second boy approached. "Yeah, I saw those and thought it was stupid to waste a good pair of shoes like that." Caleb answered. He was beginning to get a bit nervous now as he saw a third boy walking up. Caleb was only thirteen and a half and a little small for his age, while these three boys all looked to be about fifteen or sixteen and Caleb knew that he was no match for any one of them, "They aren't wasted. They are the markers, now you have trespassed into our land and have to pay the toll for going through." Jerry told him. "I don't have any money, so can't pay anything and besides what gives you the right to charge?" Caleb asked sounding braver than he felt. "Our markers give us the right to charge. We've claimed this land for ourselves and anyone wanting to pass through now must pay. If you haven't got any money then we will have to take something to sell." Jerry was still the only member of the group, which now numbered four surrounding Caleb, who had spoken. "Well I haven't got anything you could sell so you'll just have to let me go. Also I must get home quickly and I'm already late so please just let me get on." Caleb asked. "Search him." Jerry said. "Please just let me go, I've got nothing you could sell." Caleb asked. His words fell on deaf ears as the other boys grabbed hold of him. His struggles against the boys were futile as they were all bigger and stronger than him. His back pack was pulled off his shoulders, the flap opened and they tipped its contents out onto the floor. This revealed a couple of exercise books and text books to go with them for Caleb to use to do his homework, a cheap ballpoint pen and the stub of a pencil. "Where's your lunchbox boy?" Mark Miller demanded. "I don't get lunch so don't have one." Caleb responded. "Please, I'm going to be in such trouble with mum. I've got nothing. Let me go." "Don't lie. Everyone takes lunch to school or has money to buy it there." Jerry said. "We don't have enough money for breakfast and lunch so I don't have it. Now we'll not get something else because mum will be so late getting to work she will lose pay. Please just let me go." Caleb said. "Check his clothes." Jerry ordered. Caleb felt hands beginning to dig into his empty pockets and coming up with nothing. "Check on the inside." Caleb's shirt was unbuttoned and the boys held it out to make sure there was no secret pocket. Then they started to undo his trousers and again his calls fell on deaf ears. His shoes were pulled off and given a good shake and then his trousers were pulled off and turned inside out to check them out. Jerry then stepped forward and put his hand down inside Caleb's briefs and felt around to make sure there was nothing extra packed into his reasonable bulge. Jerry gave his balls a squeeze which though slightly painful only served to add to the tingle Caleb had felt as Jerry had fondled his cock and balls. "Just, fucking, leave me alone. I've told you I've got nothing. Now we're probably going to have to go without breakfast for a week too." Caleb shouted; his anger taking over from his fear. "He's going to have to pay in kind." Ronald Thomson said. "What do you mean Ronnie?" Mark asked. "He's got a loud enough mouth; let's shut it up by getting some fun out of it." Ronald answered. "Please, I've got to get home. Mum can't go until I get there, please let me go. I can come here tomorrow and I'll do whatever you want then." Caleb begged desperately. He was still being held with his shirt flapping in the breeze and just his socks and briefs on. His cock had started to chub up following Jerry's foray into his briefs but now was starting to go back down. Jerry bent down and picked up one of his exercise books. He looked at the name on it. "Right Caleb Matthews, we know where you go to school and we know your name. We know what you look like too. If you don't come to us tomorrow you'll find out that it's best not to cross us. Let him go and we'll have our fun tomorrow. I'm sure we can catch some more mugs today to help improve our funds." Simon Thurman, the fourth boy in the gang was standing behind Caleb and used his foot to knock the back of Caleb's knees causing his legs to give way. A hand on his shoulder pushed him down to the rough tarmac scraping the skin off his knees. The four boys ran off leaving Caleb to get dressed again and then pack his stuff back into his bag and head off home. Caleb was really upset and near to tears, but he was also angry and had only offered to come back the next day because he intended to try and find out a bit more about the gang to see how he could get some revenge. He might have been only thirteen and a half, but he had already had to deal with quite a bit in life which had got him maturing earlier and given him some greater confidence. It was still quite a way to his house but because he was so late he decided to try and jog and set off at a trot. Before long sweat was running down his body. His face was streaked with it and his shirt was sticking to his back but he kept his pace up. Five minutes into his jog had him breathing hard and feeling a hint of pain in his lungs. The sweat was running into his eyes and blurring his vision. Finally he turned into the street he lived on and knew he only had a few hundred yards left to do. He put on a spurt and ran that last distance arriving at this front door exhausted and drenched with perspiration. When Judy saw her son in that state, struggling to get enough air into his lungs and leaning against the door post to hold himself up, her anger at his being late evaporated as she could tell he had done his best to overcome whatever it was that had held him up. "Sorry mum," Caleb paused to suck in some more air, "teacher," another gulp of air, "kept me back." "Thank you for running so hard to get home. We'll talk about it later, I need to get off before they stop me for the day." Judy said. She ruffled Caleb's hair and stepped out the door. She too had to run to catch the next bus that came along. Judy was very proud of how well Caleb coped with the situation. She knew that despite the fact that he was now totally exhausted he would first check on Sheila and help her with anything she might need before going and sorting himself out. Judy also knew that by the time she got home, there would be a simple meal waiting on a plate for her to heat up in the microwave and that Caleb would have cooked it, fed Sheila and eaten himself. Caleb would also have got Sheila bathed and into bed, taking his own shower with her and only going to bed himself once he was sure his sister was okay. And somewhere in the middle of all that he would get his homework done and take Sheila out for a walk in her wheel chair too. Sometimes he would still be awake when Judy got home but most times he was sound asleep and Judy would check on and help Sheila for a last time before going to bed herself. This night, Caleb's run had taken it out of him and he was sleeping soundly when Judy got home. The next morning Judy left Caleb sleeping while she got Sheila up and washed and then the two of them went to the kitchen while Judy started to get a cooked breakfast ready. "How come we're getting bacon and eggs today, mum." Sheila asked. "Because we all deserve it and I've got the chance of some extra work so I thought I would spoil us." Judy told her daughter. "Well, you and Caleb deserve it, but I don't do anything to help so give me cereal like normal." Sheila said. Judy could hear the sadness in Sheila's voice and turned to her. "Don't you ever think that! It's not your fault you got hurt. You might not be able to do some things like we can, but you make your brother and me very happy people and we love you very much." "Yes we do!" Caleb said walking into the kitchen. The smell of the sizzling bacon had woken his stomach up which in turn got the rest of him up. "Morning Caleb, did you sleep well?" Judy asked. "Yes thanks mum. Did you sleep okay too? And you sis?" Caleb asked. Both the women in his life answered that they had and then Judy went on, "Caleb, the mill manager asked me why I was late yesterday and when I explained that you had been held up and I couldn't leave Sheila alone he offered me some extra work. He wants me to work a middle shift tomorrow. And because it's a Sunday, I'll get double pay which will help us to meet the rent this month. The only thing is that it means you'll have to stay with Sheila. Are you okay with that?" "Sure mum. Will it be every week?" Caleb didn't even have to think about it. Even though it would take a big chunk out of the little free time he had, he would do it for the family. "He couldn't promise me that it would be regular but said that whenever he could he would offer me extra work. He did say I would probably get a full ten hour shift on at least one Sunday every month. That's like an extra two plus day's pay for us." Judy always talked about these things in the plural because it affected all of them. She shared all she had with her two children and worked hard to put food on the table. But her example had taught her kids to share as well and both of them never looked on anything as their own but belonging to all of them equally. "Even once a month will make a big difference, but are you sure you can manage it? An extra ten hours on top of what you already work is quite a bit." Sheila asked. "I don't think I could do it every week, but every so often will be okay." Judy assured both her children. "Have you got any plans for today Caleb?" "I've agreed to meet some other guys in town for a bit but other than that I'm sure I'll be home for a fair bit to help with the housework today." Caleb said. "I'm sorry but I haven't even got a coin in my purse to offer you to take. Come home when you're ready. If we don't get it all done today, maybe you could help with a bit more tomorrow while you're helping Sheila." Judy said. "No thanks, I don't want any money. The guys know I don't have any and if I turn up with some they'll ask all sorts of questions." Caleb said. "Okay, you go and enjoy yourself." Judy said. "Yeah, have fun bro." Sheila said. Caleb finished his breakfast and helped to wash the dishes. Then he went back to this room to get ready. He didn't know what was going to happen but going on how the gang had been talking he decided he was going to wear the clothing he would be least worried about getting messed up in some way. He thought that if he was worrying less about his clothing he would be able to concentrate more on learning how he could get some pay back from these guys. All his clothing, apart from underwear, came from the charity shops but still he tried to look after each piece and make it last as long as possible. He pulled on his oldest pair of briefs which were actually about due to be thrown out as he had grown some since they were bought and they were getting to be a bit small on him. This was followed by a t shirt that had seen better days and then a pair of shorts that also were getting a bit on the small side. Finally he pulled on his trainers without any socks. His mum was in the bathroom when he left so he just called out a "good bye" to her and went into the front room and gave his sister a hug as he said good bye to her. "Are you hoping to send a message to some girl with those shorts showing your bulge so well?" Sheila teased. Caleb smiled at his sister and just said, "I didn't want my better clothes to get messed up." With that he was out the door and walking towards the unknown.
