They arrived just as the sun had started to sink towards the horizon. They
knew that family and close friends were coming up the next day. They had
the place all to themselves. They had bought some Thai food and after
emptying the SUV, they put it in the microwave and sat on the front porch
relaxing and eating as the sun set. It was another magnificent sunset.

They sat closely together and Robert suddenly realized that there was leg
rubbing his leg. He knew what that meant and he decided to ignore it but
then deal with it in his own way. He stood up and stretched and gathered up
the dishes. When he came back to the porch, Lucas was standing with his
hands on a crossbar looking through the screens at the colours of the
clouds and the reflections in the water.

Lucas sighed as he heard Robert come back to the porch. "What a beautiful
sight! I never cease to be enthralled by it."

Lucas couldn't see the smile on Robert's face as Robert scanned the lovely
body in front of him highlighted by an artist's palette of colours in the
sky and water. As he put his arms around his guy, "I see something that
enthralls me almost as much as the sky and water." One hand went down the
front of Lucas' body and the other went down his back to his butt. Very
quickly each was naked.

Lucas turned his head. "This is where we made that big decision last
August. It too was a beautiful evening. Lover, make love to me slowly as we
watch this beautiful sight slowly change."

Many minutes later. Robert felt his lover start to breathe harder and
suddenly his body stiffened and Robert could feel his very hard cock
massaged by Lucas' orgasm. Several hard thrust was all it took for Robert's

decision last August was best decision that we ever made (the decision was

They woke the next morning. Robert was getting out of the bed when he felt
strong hands and arms around him. With determination in Lucas' voice, "Not
so fast. There is unfinished business."

Robert looked at him with a smirk. "If you don't want some water sports in
our bed, I would suggest that you let me go. If you play your cards right,
I might just come back." Then he laughed. "Your business never seems to be
finished."

"You have that right. You turn me on all the time." Lucas let his hands
slip down Robert's body as he stood up. Lucas gave the hard cock a couple
of pumps as Robert stood up. It was crystal clear what the unfinished
business was.

Typical of Lucas, there was a lot of holding and touching as they had
breakfast after a satisfying romp of unfinished business after the
bathroom. No water sports that day.

They were dressed and ready for company when they heard the first car
approaching. It was Robert's dads. The guys were out of the chalet in a
flash with the usual greetings. They had even more in their SUV than the
guys had had. It was soon stored in the freezer or one of the two
refrigerators. Their clothes were in the family cabin.

Timothy, "So tell us about your Buffalo friends."

Robert, "Papa, we were so nervous when we went down the first time. We
wondered if we would be thrown out but we must have done something
right. We were invited for supper and we really hit it off with Thomas and
Liam. They decided that they would contact Ron Corbett. We didn't know how
it was going to go. Thomas never once called Ron, father; it was always
Ron. But it was my guy who talked to Liam into giving Ron a chance. Oh,
Liam got in a few digs but he was civil and polite. Thomas really wants to
talk to you, Dad, to Michael Burtchell and Grandpa Jamie. I think that Liam
will just enjoy swimming and relaxing. Something tells me that Liam will
hit it off with Grandpa Philipo.

They were having lunch when they heard a car turn up the driveway. Thomas
and Liam parked and jumped out of the car. They looked around them and both
took huge breaths of air.

Liam, "The air smells so fresh and clear. What a beautiful place!" The guys
had walked quickly out of the chalet and there were soon hugs all around.

Pointing at Liam and then Thomas.  "I would like you to meet my
parents. The tall one is my Dad, Jeremy and the shorter one is my Papa,
Timothy." Hugs again.

Thomas looked around. "Robert almost speaks in reverence when he mentions
the chalet. We now know why. It is magnificent."

 They were soon sorted with the food and beverages that they had brought in
to the chalet and their clothes and suitcases in the family cabin. They
were given lunch and then a tour of the grounds. Liam could hardly wait to
get in the water.

As they came up the hill to the chalet, Liam looked at Robert. "Thanks for
all your information about metric. I know that the temperature today is 28
C and I need a swim. Your idea that travel distance is time also helped a
lot. Your money is so different than ours with holograms and embedded
symbols. The colours are great. I used my first loonie at a rest
stop. Neat!"

They all stopped as they heard a car turn in to the driveway. Robert knew
in an instant that is was Michael and Anna. Lucas and he excused themselves
and ran to the car. Robert reached Michael first and hugged him as Lucas
did to Anna.

Robert went over to Anna and grabbed her and lifted her up and hugged
her. He heard a slight whisper of surprise and then he felt the little bump
at her waist. He put her down and stared into her eyes. "Do you have
something to announce?"

"Robbie, for a gay guy, you are very observant. I'm three and half month
along. Don't know the sex yet but everything is going well."

There were tears in Robert's eyes. "I am so happy for you." He grabbed her
again and hugged her hard with a little kiss on her cheek.

Michael looked at the two of them. Laughing, "Hey, Robbie, hands off my
wife."

Robert dropped his arms and ran to Michael. "I am so happy for the two of
you. I just had to show her how happy I am. You two are going to make
awesome parents." He hugged Michael again.

Lucas looked at everyone. "I am missing something here."

Robert rolled his eyes. "You hugged her and don't have clue. You are going
to be an uncle in five and half months."

Lucas yelled and did everything that Robert had done to both, just as
joyfully as Robert had been.

Thomas and Liam had watched the scene. When Robert came to them. Thomas
looked at Robert. "Is that the Anna who you went out with in the last year
of high school?

"Yes. Why do you ask?"

"You still seem very close."

"We had broken up in June. She wrote me a very wonderful letter at the end
of that summer after graduation from high school. She said that she wanted
me to know that, no matter what happened that I would always have a place
somewhere deep inside her as someone who she can never thank enough for the
caring and love that I gave her. I met Lucas and she met a guy who she fell
for. He turned out to be a bastard who couldn't keep his dick in his
pants. She dropped him after an argument at Christmas. Michael had met her
in the Fall just as she was falling for the jerk so Michael had backed
off. When Michael heard that Anna was free of the jerk, he asked her out in
January. It took time but they fell in love. We met Michael several times
that winter and we have become close friends. I was the best man at their
wedding and he, at our wedding."

"Robert, I am impressed yet again. You and Lucas are the guys that took us
on and reunited Liam and me with my father. Your relationship with your
dads is incredible. I still feel that I could never have that relationship
with my father."

"I have been lucky in so many ways. Now we have our American friends who
need to change into bathing suits and swim. If you want the boat for water
skiing, we can get it ready."

Introductions were made and soon they were all down at the dock. "Just a
reminder that the water is still a bit cold but once you are in, it's
great. I like to swim out to the raft.

There whoops of surprise as they hit the cold water but soon they were
swimming to the raft laughing and splashing each other. Robert knew that
Anna was not to be fussed over. It was Michael who pulled her out of the
water onto the raft. Robert loved the little smile that Michael and Anna
gave to each other as Michael pulled her close.

Liam really wanted to water ski. He was muscular and in good shape. He fell
once on his second time on skis but he laughed, followed their instructions
and was up and skiing in a minute. Thomas was almost as good as Liam but it
was Liam who loved it. He couldn't stop talking about it and he was amazed
at what Robert and Lucas could do.

Supper was total chaos with everyone trying to pitch in and help. During
supper, Lucas had suggested a fire on the beach. So, as the sun disappeared
into the western sky, couples sat on the beach holding each other. Robert
had watched the group at supper and later talking to each other. Jamie and
Philipo had arrived in the late afternoon and added to the chaos. He did
notice that Thomas had had several long talks with Jamie and with
Jeremy. They had clearly found each other interesting. He had been
right. Liam had gravitated to Philipo and they had laughed and joked
together. Later, Robert had seen Michael and Liam talking quietly to each
other.

Robert looked at his guy as they snuggled up to each other. "What a great
suggestion to have a camp fire tonight. Tomorrow will be so busy and we'll
all be exhausted. Look at everyone just doing what we are doing."

Smart ass had to have his say. "Not everyone is doing this." He leaned over
and kissed his guy.

Minutes later, Robert leaned over and kissed him back. "Not any more. Now
they are all doing what we are doing."

The yawns started after a long day for most of them and they were soon in
their beds or tents. Everyone had insisted that Michael and Anna take one
of the rooms in the family cabin. Robert and Lucas, Thomas and Liam had
pitched two tents. Soon all was quiet. Quiet but not asleep. Robert and
Lucas had become experts at making love in a tent with others close
by. They celebrated the day in a time honoured manner.

The shout could be heard everywhere. Lucas was outside with a bathing suit
on. "MORNING SWIM TIME. OUT OF BED NOW! This is not a request. You have
five minutes or else. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES."

They chuckled as they heard the grumbling in the tent beside them and the
door to the family cabin open. Michael stood there with a bathing suit
on. He was talking to Anna telling her that there was no getting out of
it."

Anna joined him. "You guys are mean. How can you do this to me in my
condition?"

Robert, "You had a swim yesterday. You can do it this morning. Don't even
try to play that card."

They saw Thomas and Liam groaning as they stepped out with bathing suits on
and rubbing their eyes. "Anna is right. You guys are mean."

Anna looked at them as she yelled, "Wimps!" She shoved Michael into the
room. Slammed the door and was off running to the dock yelling, "Last one
in makes the coffee and serves breakfast."

Everyone was laughing. Thomas and Liam were out of their tent and were
running after Anna, Robert and Lucas. Anna ran down the dock and dived into
the water. Robert and Lucas hit the lake just behind her and then came Liam
and Thomas neck in neck.

Michael stopped at the edge of the dock and looked down at them. "You
aren't going to like your coffee this morning." He stared at Anna and
suddenly he jumped in splashing everyone especially Anna. He swam up to her
smiling and reached over and kissed her. "I like your style baby."

All Robert could think was that this was a wonderful way for his friends to
meet together. There was laughing and joking on the raft. Michael with good
grace made the coffee and served everyone their breakfast. Robert and Lucas
saw the looks between Michael and Anna and both were very happy for
them. Jamie and Philipo finally came for breakfast. It didn't take long
before Thomas and Jamie were deep in conversation. Robert had been right;
Philipo and Liam had hit it off immediately. Robert walked by them several
times and heard each of them explaining their line of work with some of the
funny incidence they both had had. Michael had joined them at one point
with his own funny stories of things that had happened on projects he had
worked on.

It was Momma's arrival that they had been waiting for. She still had very
strong feelings for her two guys, her great grandchildren, Robert and
Lucas. She hugged them for a long time and then turned and looked at Thomas
and Liam. "These very handsome young men must be your American friends from
Buffalo."

"Thomas and Liam." He pointed at each of them as he said their name.

"My grandsons speak very highly of you. Come. Give this old lady a proper
hug."

Liam stepped forward. "I hope that we can call you Momma. Robert and Lucas
only speak of you with great love. I learned this from them." He gave her
one big Marchese hug.

Then Thomas looked at her. "They call you a force of nature whom they love
dearly." His hug almost picked Momma off the ground.

Momma glowed. Both received the kiss on both cheeks. They had been accepted
and welcomed to the family. Liam and Thomas grabbed her suitcase and food
and took them into the chalet with her. As Robert had hoped, Momma had
accepted them. They chatted and laughed with her as they took her food
first and then her suitcase to her room. They were amazed at how much food
that she had brought.

After coming back to the kitchen, Thomas smiled at Robert. "You were right
Momma is amazing. Look at the food she made. I bet it is delicious." Robert
nodded his head, yes.

Liam looked at them. "I have volunteered to help her get it ready for
lunch. She is wonderful."

Lucas looked at Liam. "We are all going to help with lunch but Momma will
love working with you. There are more coming for lunch and then there is
the Canada Day supper that you won't believe. We are going to ask you and
others to help with the BBQ and getting canapes, salads and condiments out
on the tables. There are going to be a lot of people. He turned as his
heard cars approaching. It was Hank and Liz in one car and Paul and Sean in
the other car. The guys were out in an instant. Hugs all around and then
introductions. Liam had a very good memory. When he was introduced to Hank
as a friend from university and their university hockey team, he had a
strange look on his face.

After the introductions and Hank's desperate pleas for some water skiing,
they walked up to the family cabin and then the main cabin. Liam was with
Robert. He looked at Robert questioningly. "I remember you telling us that
you were outed in your first year by a member of the hockey team called
Hank. This can't be THE Hank."

Robert started to laugh. "None other. Papa and I stood up for him at his
hearing that could have had him sent out of the university. After his
suspension from the hockey team, he and Lucas played together on
defence. They were amazing together on the ice.  He became one of our best
supporters on the team. He graduated ahead of us and we invited him and his
girlfriend, Liz, up here for a weekend with Michael and Anna. We had a
great time. Paul was also on the team and he was with another guy,
Brett. Brett broke Paul's heart when Brett told him that he was leaving
him. Luckily he met Sean the summer after they split and they have been to
together for a few years now."

Liam just shook his head. "You guys are amazing. Mr Fix Its." He looked at
his watch. "Yikes, I have to go help Momma. See you in a bit." He ran off.

Robert realized that it was getting close to lunch time. Soon there was
pasta, salads and cold cut meats with rolls and bread. Everyone had a
choice of beer, wine, soft drinks or lemonade. It was a raucous group with
a lot of talk and fun. After clean up, it was to the lake and water skiing.

Hank loved water skiing and had become quite good. Michael too was an
athlete and he also had become very good. Paul could manage and Sean had
progressed quickly. It was Robert and Lucas who amazed the crowd with the
tricks that they could perform. Liam was allowed to go several times and it
was clear that he was athletic as well and soon was doing very well for a
beginner. Thomas was OK but it was obvious that he could take water skiing
or leave it. His dads came down and really wowed the crowd at the dock with
their abilities.

As the dads left, they reminded Robert and Lucas that it was getting close
to supper time. There were snacks before. The guys got the message and
organized everyone with specific tasks. He soon realized that helping his
dads and being with his friends was a wonderful way to spend July 1st. He,
Thomas and Lucas took on the BBQ turning out chicken and sausages for a
very large group.

After supper, Michael Burtchell came over to talk to Robert and Lucas who
were replenishing the drinks table. "Hey guys, what a great party. Sorry
that Stephen and I have to leave before the fireworks.  By the way, I had a
talk with Thomas Corbett and his partner Liam. What a great couple of
guys. Thomas and Liam reminds me of you two. You, Thomas and Liam are
running your own firms at your age and doing well. Lucas is the head of the
forensic section. We talked a lot about Forensic+. I am certain that Thomas
wants to start up a forensic division in his firm."

Lucas looked at him. "We haven't pushed that to him. We wanted our
friendship to grow and not be about an attempt to sell a product. He and
Liam have become very close to us. We wish that they lived in Canada and
closer to us."

"He told my how and why you met. I am impressed as usual."

"We just reacted to his father at the conference in Toronto. Since then,
Ron has handled the situation very well. We both commented to each other
that he never once tried to excuse himself or justify his actions when he
first came to visit." Robert pointed to Lucas. "My guy had a long talk with
Liam before he met Ron. He convinced him to be civil and to see how Ron
would handle the situation. Liam took a few digs but they were understated
and just the facts of their life after Ron cut them off with no support."

"You know as a friend you could give him a copy of Forensic+ for a year if
he starts up a forensic section in his firm. He might find some young,
bright guy who would want to start with the program."

"Michael, a great idea. You have certainly given a lot of help to my family
and my guy. We'll talk to Thomas at some point this weekend. I think that
Liam and he would like to spend a week here in the summer."

They circulated around the crowd. They noticed that Liam payed special
attention to Momma, getting her food and chatting with her. It reminded him
of how Lucas had gravitated to her so quickly that first weekend at the
chalet. At one point, he saw Momma with Lucas and Liam. Momma was laughing
loudly with them.

Robert then went over to see Great Grandpere Malenfant. He was now looking
quite aged but his mind was still lucid and he still held his opinions
strongly. Robert enjoyed his company a lot. He had certainly changed since
his son, Timothy, had finally told him that he was gay. No problems now. He
had been one of the happiest at his and Lucas' wedding.

Robert noticed that dusk was beginning to close in. He rounded up their
group of friends and headed to the beach with chairs and blankets to sit
on. Michael and Anna came and sat with them. They chatted about the change
their lives would have over the next year. Robert and Lucas were happy for
them. This pregnancy was planned, not an accident. Michael and Lucas were
talking. Anna looked at Robert. "Robbie after we broke up that June, I
never dreamed that we would become best friends. I realized that time that
you first came to our university to play hockey that you were still a close
friend and Lucas just fascinated me as your partner."

"I never dreamed that I would end up with a man but I did. You know that
Lucas and I are overjoyed by your news."

"Hope so because we want you two to be godfathers."

There were tears in Robert's eyes. "You have no idea how wonderful that is
and I know that Lucas will feel exactly the same."

Suddenly the first display of fireworks lit the sky. The community had
canvassed more owners around the lake and they had the biggest display that
the cottage association had ever had. He stood and pulled Lucas up. They
put arms around each other while looking at the other, smiled and
kissed. Half way through the display, he looked at his friends. Each couple
was holding each other in an embrace. Some looked at him and smiled. Others
were kissing their partner. As usual, there was a gasp all around them as
the last volley of fireworks arced into the ski lighting it up for almost a
minute. There was clapping and ohs and ahs all around them.

As they walked up with Thomas and Liam who had their arms around each
other, Liam looked at them. "I don't think that I have ever enjoyed any
holiday like this so much. We have been surrounded by gay and hetero
couples who don't care about each others orientation." He paused looking at
the two of them.  "Great evening guys."

They said goodnight to every one. Finally they were in their tent. Lucas
grabbed Robert and pulled him close. He whispered. "I don't care who hears
what but I'll try and be quiet if I can."

He pulled Robert's t shirt over his head and leaned over, licked his nipple
and lightly caressed his other one with his fingers. Then he looked up and
kissed him passionately. He whispered. "I have watched you all day. You are
so fucking sexy. It has been a wonderful day and I need you badly."

They were soon naked and both were ready for whatever the other
wanted. Robert pushed Lucas down onto his side and then he lay facing
him. The kiss started lightly but over a minute, it became passionate as
tongue touched tongue. Robert turned around into a classic 69. He stroked
Lucas' erection lightly with just the tips of this fingers. He could hear
Lucas breathing almost shuddering. Robert must have sounded just like him
as Lucas' fingers lightly touched his almost purple erection. Robert did
groan softly when the tip of a tongue circled the head and a mouth closed

Robert started to suck the head of Lucas' hard cock but then went slowly

moving. Both knew that this was how it would go that night. There were

Robert opened his eyes the next morning when he felt movement beside
him. He looked up to see Lucas wide awake and ready to go swimming. Robert

Lucas was out of the tent. "We are going for a swim. Join us if you
want. Today the swim is not compulsory. We'll give you a couple of minutes
to get ready." To their surprise, every one was out and ready for the
morning swim in less than five minutes.

There was the usual race to the dock and it was Liam who arrived first and
dived into the water. "Holy shit, that is a wake up call. Feels great."
Thomas jumped in with his legs tucked in landing feet and butt first right
in front of Liam.  The splash was amazing. They were both laughing hard
with threats from Liam.

Breakfast was fun and couples started to go back to rooms or tents to pack
up and get ready to leave.

Hank and Liz left first. Then it was Michael and Anna. Both couples were
going to family cottages for the day and night. Paul, Sean, Thomas and Liam
helped clean up the boat and get it covered. There would be no more water
skiing this long weekend. They plunged in the water for a swim.

After the swim, they sat on the dock talking about the weeks to
come. Thomas and Liam would be returning in the third week of July for a
week and Paul and Sean would join them for one of the weekends. Paul and
Sean left them to pack and get ready to leave. They would stay for lunch
but would leave right after lunch.

Thomas sighed. "Guys, we have had a wonderful visit. We were made to feel
so welcome. I met the most amazing people in my field. I never imagined
that I would meet Jeremy Marchese-Milner, James Milner and Michael
Burtchell. Michael thinks the world of you and your families. He has really
opened my eyes to a forensic section for my firm. Buffalo has a lot
businesses and then we have all the surrounding areas."

Robert looked at Thomas. "I have a suggestion on that. I am impressed with
your firm and Lucas and I talked about it. We would like to give you a free
copy of Forensic+ for a year when you start up you forensic section." He
held up hands as Thomas was about to decline the offer. "We have had so
much help with starting up our firm; you did it by yourself with Liam. You
deserve some help with this. Please as a friend, take my offer. It costs us
nothing. We told you that first day we met that we were not there to sell
you anything. In fact, we would come down and install it and start you
off." Like his dads, he had to soften the offer. "That would mean that we
could come down and buy some of that fabulous wine, from the 5th in Paris,
that is not available in Ontario. Don't know what to say. A hand shake and
a hug between friends would be enough."

Liam interjected realizing that his partner was struggling with the
offer. "I'll answer for us. We'll bring a couple of bottles of the wine
when we come up in the third week of July. Guys, I know why you would do
this. I have watched you interact with your families. You are all so
close. I can see what we have been missing on Thomas' side and I hope that
we can build something with Ron. It has been an extraordinary weekend in so
many ways. I never realized how much July 1st meant to you and would mean
to us."

He paused. "I never realized what a bilingual country and family could be
like. I heard you two switch instantaneously between English and French
between yourselves, your family and friends." He chuckled. "I thought that
my Spanish was good but not like your French."

Lucas looked at them. "It has been a great weekend. This is the first time
that we have been here as a married couple and the first time that we have
brought so many friends. We too felt that we had become hosts of the party
as well. It has been a blast for us." He looked at his watch. "It is
getting close to lunch and I know that you want to make an early start. Why
don't you pack the SUV and then come in for a farewell luncheon. I know
that there is one person who really want to see you off. Momma has been
really taken with both of you."

Liam and Thomas entered the porch. There was a whole selection of food on a
side table with anything that they could possibly want to drink. There were
two seats on either side of Momma. She looked up and patted the seats
beside her. The two sat on either side of her. They chatted and laughed as
they ate their meal. It was clear that Momma had found some young men whom
she had connected with. It was almost like the time that she had first met
Lucas (Unexpected, Robert 4).

Finally they were all finished. Liam and Thomas went around the room and
personally thanked everyone for having them. They finished with Momma who
stood up and hugged and kissed them on each cheek. They were indeed members
of the family. In fact, when Robert thought back over the years, he
realized all their friends had been accepted by Momma but somehow Thomas
and Liam appeared to be special to her.

They set a time for their arrival three weeks away. The guys had their arms
around each other as they waved at their American friends as the went down
the hill and turned onto the road.

Lucas turned to Robert. "It is amazing how much has happened since we went
to the conference in Toronto. We were so worried about how Thomas would
react to our seeing him about his father."

Robert looked at him. "I think that it was your talk with Liam to have him
listen to what Ron had to say. Now we have new friends and a trip to
Arizona in January. We also have to start to plan for the conference in
St. Louis in September. It is going to be a bigger audience and perhaps
more cautious with a Canadian product."

"If I know you, you have already started to plan how to change the format
of our presentation."

Robert laughed. "You know me too well."

Lucas raised his eyebrows. "In many ways. I certainly know what you will
want when we are home and unpacked."

Robert stepped back and scanned Lucas' body from head to toe and then up to
just below his waist. "Oh yeah!"

They laughed and held each other tightly and kissed. It was a memorable
time back home after they unpacked.
