That is why I raised the topic last night. You and me only until one of us wants something else. Are you going to tell your family and I know that involves Kevin and James as well? You, by the way, are a very lucky man." "This conversation makes me even luckier. With your permission, in my own time and way to the family. I suspect that Kevin and James have an inkling and they may very well say things to Robbie." John nodded his agreement. "Want to seal the deal?" "You really are a horny bugger!" "You bring out the best in me." It was slow and intense. The deal was sealed in a time honoured way over the next hour. John stayed the weekend. After John left on Sunday night, Paul stood in front of the wonderful picture of him and Brian. There were tears of sadness and happiness. "Thank you love for making this possible. I still think of you everyday. Miss you." Present The telephone rang on Monday night. It was Robbie. "Hey Pops, haven't seen you a lot in the last couple of weeks. You have been busy. How about supper tomorrow night." "Sorry I'm out that night. How about Wednesday or Thursday?" Wednesday it was. He and John had supper that night and he stayed at John's. Both were ready, willing and able. It was a good night. After supper the next night, he was sitting with Robbie while Maria and the kids cleaned up. "Thanks for opening up the cottage. Maria and I went up last weekend. It was nice to arrive with it ready to go." "I guess that we should talk about everyone's plans for the May 24th weekend. It is getting close, like next weekend." "Pops, it's a tradition that no one wants to miss. I think that Jason wants to bring a certain young girl up and Ellie wants to bring a friend. I have been talking to James and Kevin they want to come up. What about you?" "Do you mean do I want to be there?" "That's a given. Do you want to invite anyone?" "You didn't just talk to James and Kevin about the cottage, did you?" "It was a wide ranging conversation." He stopped and smiled. "Sometimes you are easy to read. Pops, we all like John." There were tears in Paul's eyes. Robbie was out of his seat in an instant and gave Paul a hug. "Pops, I know how hard it has been for you. We just want you to know that we are OK with this. Dad really did talk to us all." "Funny you should mention it. I know that this will sound strange but I had a talk with him on Sunday night, well I looked our picture on the mantel. I miss him a lot but he is right. You have to live the life you have. John appears to be another stage in my life. Your father, the love of my life, set us up. I have so much to be thankful for. Thank you so much for this." Both men were in tears and when Maria came into the room, she saw them quietly comforting each other. She joined them. Paul phoned John as soon as he came home from Robbie's. "John do you have anything planned for the May 24th weekend? I know that it is a little late." "No, just a lonely weekend here by myself." "Before you wallow in self pity and drown in a flood of tears, how about the cottage for the long weekend. It is going to be a small intimate affair, yeah right: my two kids, their families and grandkids' friends, Kevin, Dave, James and Matt." "Is this a welcome to your family?" "Robbie suggested that you come." There was silence. "So much for going slow with my complex family. And please note - I don't expect you to sleep in your own room unless you want to." "I am ready if you are." "See you tomorrow night for supper and the concert. We can make plans. Sleep well." "I'd sleep better if ...." "Counsellor, so would I." They laughed and closed off. Paul and John left for the cottage a day early on Friday to set up and have some time alone before the hordes arrived. Both were a little anxious but were basically excited. As John had said on Thursday night while they sipped their scotch that it would be strange going to the cottage this weekend. He knew everyone well but he realized how much circumstances and relationships changed the dynamics of everything. Paul assured him that if they went easily and carefully, everyone would respond well. They had a great day and evening on Friday. Paul had suggested that they get all of their sexual frustrations taken care of before the masses arrived. John had looked at him and shook his head. He commented that this was Mr. EverReady speaking. That had led to Paul tackling him and a very robust session of love making. After an early breakfast the next day, John grabbed Paul and showed him how frustrated he still was. They just had time later to shower and be ready for the first arrivals. Paul watched the arrival of two cars, Robbie and family and Susan and family. Had they met somewhere to discuss the situation? No, that they could have been done over the phone. They all jumped out the car with the usual hugs and kisses for Grandpops. John was not ready for his welcome. Robbie was the first. He walked swiftly over to John and gave him a big Robbie hug of welcome. Next Maria, the same, with a lovely smile. Susan had a wicked little smile, "Pops has good taste in men." He got a another hug. It was Jason who bowled him over. He came over and shook hands and then a hug, whispering that John was to be good to Grandpops because he was special. His sister Jennifer gave him a hug as well. Then there were introduction of Jason's friend, a very good looking young lady and Jennifer's female friend. It was obvious where Jason's attentions would be this weekend. Susan was a little younger than Robbie and had married later so her two were aged 7 and 9, Anne and Thomas. Anne looked at John and simply said that he must be Grandpop's friend and gave him a kiss. Thomas gave him a Robbie like hug. John took an instant liking to Anne and to Thomas. Then it was mass chaos as they helped unload cars and take things to their small family cabins. Paul and John went back to the main cabin to start getting lunch ready for the hordes. That was only broken by the arrival of Kevin and James and shortly after James and Matt. John just blushed at their pointed, quiet comments as they settled into the main cabin. The comments were variations on Kevin's comment about being a light sleeper and sound travelling easily. John had simply added that that worked both ways and something about lusty young buggers. They all had a good chuckle. Lunch was chaos with everyone pitching in to serve and then clean up. John was impressed that the kids were expected to help and just automatically joined in the clean up after. Suddenly, John and Paul found themselves sitting on the porch as all the others fanned out to see the place and get themselves truly settled. "Thanks Paul for the invitation. This is going to be a great weekend." The first order of business was the dock. It was put in the water early that afternoon. Little did John know what was in store for him. After the dock was in, there were looks that passed between Robbie, Paul, James, Kevin, their partners and Susan's husband. Paul looked at John and very quietly thanked him for his help and told him that they had a little tradition at the cottage on this weekend. John had noticed that the men had come out of the water shivering from just being in up to their knees and drifted towards and behind him but he thought nothing of it. Suddenly, he was grabbed by many hands, lifted up and ceremoniously taken to the dock and thrown into the frigid water. Jason and Paul had jumped in just in case there was a problem. John came up swearing like a trooper and threatening revenge until every male who had thrown him was cannon balling in beside him. There were whoops of surprise at the coldness and then gales of laughter. Paul swam over to him and looked him straight in the eye. "Welcome to the cottage. They only do this to people they like and respect. It's an initiation." As they came out, Maria and Susan and the kids came screaming in to join them. The laughter and good fun started what was to be a wonderful weekend for John and Paul. John made a point of searching out all the grandchildren and doing something with all of them. But he fell in love with Anne and Thomas whom he ended up calling Annie and Tom. He told them it would be his special name for them. It was agreed that he would be Uncle John. Late in the afternoon, Paul saw John with Anne and Thomas down at the dock watching the fish swim around the dock with John telling them about fishing experiences that he had had. Paul smiled as he saw them moving off along the shore searching for frogs, tadpoles and clam shells. Paul's heart swelled as he saw Anne, hand in hand with John, swinging their hands as they walked along the shore. His first thought was how could he be so lucky twice. He teared up as he said another thank you to Brian. He walked down to join them. The bell rang for supper. As was their custom, they were all seated in the same room. Everyone had brought things for supper and Paul had made hamburgers the day before and had them ready on the BBQ. Everyone was served and Robbie looked at Paul. Paul stood up and looked at everyone assembled. "Many years ago a very wise man stood here and said some very wise things. I have never forgotten his words. I am going to repeat them as best I can. I am very thankful to have this time with my children, my grandchildren and my friends and to have all the wonderful memories past," and he paused looking significantly at Robbie and Susan, "Present ... and ... future that enrich all our lives. My life has been enriched immeasurably by everyone here." He gazed at all of them with tears in his eyes but looked most intently at John who understood exactly what he was saying. There were few dry eyes. They heard the small voice from Anne. "Mommy, are you crying a little bit." Paul very quietly but with gusto said, "I think that she is really hungry." It worked. There were little chuckles and suddenly there was chatter and a meal to remember. John got a hug from James sitting beside him with a very quiet 'thank you' in his ear. There were stories and games and when bedtime finally arrived, they went to their separate cabins and rooms. "Paul, very classy. I assume that Brian said something like that here when you first met him, only he was talking of his wife." Paul just nodded yes. "Thank you so much. I feel honoured." He paused looked with affection and love. "I can be quiet if you can?" "And he calls me Mr. EverReady." They were quiet but intense. It was mouth only. Well there were fingers inserted in various places which caused many moans and at least one 'shit!' but who was really counting by then. They lingered and brought each other to the edge several times and they finished almost together, kissing each other immediately sharing their tastes. They lay quietly looking at one another and started to chat about the weekend. Paul and John had noticed that Jason and friend had gone for a long canoe ride that afternoon after the dock had been put in and Paul told the story of his and Brian's trip many years ago. John's only comment, for which he received a punch in the arm, was that once a horny bastard always a horny bastard. "I know. Jason takes after me. They say it can jump a generation." John looked at him as if he were crazy. "Jason, Robbie, Brian and Margie. No genetics from you." "I held in my arms hours after his birth. My magnetic personality and structure was passed to him just after his birth." "You are so full of it." Paul's look suddenly changed to a surprised realization of something. "I know why I am so full of it!" He paused gazing at John. "I have taken up with a lawyer. My god, I ingested your DNA, again this evening. I am lost." John shook his head trying to hold in his laugh. It didn't work. Their laugh had occasioned a knock on the wall which only made them laugh louder and longer. By the time Susan and David left for Toronto on Monday, everyone had had a wonderful weekend. John and the kids had an almost tearful parting. Susan helped by saying that Paul and John would have to come and visit and she emphasized that she meant it. When Paul let John off at his condo, he lamented the fact they had to part. John made the comment that there was a solution. They looked at each and agreed that it should be a topic for discussion sooner rather than later. They had to break the kiss before it led to complications. He loved Paul's use of language. Paul had a little chat with Brian that night. The gist of it was that he was one hell of a lucky guy to have found Brian and their family and for Brian setting him up with John. John went home realizing that one doesn't often get two chances like this in life. He had not felt so at home in the two years since Mark's death. He had a little chat with Mark that night and told him about his decision to press Paul on his early departures from the get togethers. He decided that he was prepared to move to Paul's place to have a place for family visits. He would rent his condo for a year to make sure that Paul could live with him as he little doubt about himself with Paul and his wonderful family. The decision was simple and that was what they did. Life together went fairly simply. They let everyone know what they were doing and there were no problems. Jason became a regular visitor when he realized what a great guy John was. He enjoyed himself and often became part of the group with Kevin or James with their partners. He usually brought his current girlfriend. John was able to use his contacts to get him a job, the summer before he left for university. There was a part of the estate that Paul was not comfortable with. Brian had put the house in joint ownership with Paul. Paul had argued but Brian had been adamant. He wanted Paul to be able to stay or leave but on his own time. Paul felt that the house was really Robbie and Susan's home. He had an idea that he would run past John. He would have an estimate done on the house and then give that money to Robbie and Susan. They got the use of the money before probate was approved and he would feel that he could use the house for himself and John and have a place where anyone in the family could stay when they were in town. In addition, he would give the difference to them if he sold the house at a higher price. One night in June, "John, I've been thinking ...." "Oh, oh, something is brewing." "Brian insisted that I be a co-owner of the house. I am not comfortable owning this place which is quite valuable. I want to give the kids the money now, especially as the estate won't be settled for a while." "I can almost guess what you are going to do." "You think?" "I know your finances. You are going to have the place appraised and split the money now. You can then live in it with me with a clear conscience. The house is still in the family." "You really do know me well." "Yes and I like everything that I know. Why don't we find out when Susan is going to be in town and see her and Robbie together. I should say you will see them." "No, you are going to be involved because I want them to know about our written agreement in my new will about your position in the inheritance and mine in your will. Yours is yours for your family and mine is mine for mine." "Nice touch." The appraisal was made and they realized that everyone would be at the cottage during the July 1 holiday. He figured that would be an excellent time to chat. They had their usual big group from the city and surrounding cottages. The next day looked like a good day to talk. "Guys I have something that I want to talk about." Robbie and Susan looked at him. "Nothing serious I hope Pops." "Sorry, no, nothing serious. John is going to sit in as my lawyer. OK?" It was. "Guys, the probate of the will is not for another few months. Brian insisted that I have joint ownership in the house. I think I know why now." Both had, first a look of that this is not news and then curiosity crept over their faces. "He outlined his plan." Susan, "Pops you never cease to surprise and amaze me." Robbie, "Pops I just don't know how I could be so lucky to have you as my father." Paul just smiled. "Why don't you both talk to spouses and decide what you want to do with the money. You already know what the value of the estate will be after probate and with the life insurance policies, you can decide what you want to do as families." "Pops, you are just like Dad. You and he have always let us make our own decisions." There were some wet eyes as all realized what house and whose estate they were talking about. There were obviously discussions with spouses. Maria was the first to look at Paul and give him a big hug and a thank you. Later when he heard their plans for the money, Paul was so happy and proud that they would put some in the education accounts and the chidren's trusts and kept the rest for the family as a whole. He had written cheques and deposited money in accounts as they directed in the week after July 1. Paul and John were at home one Sunday evening when the phone rang. It was Paul's father. He wanted to get together with Paul sometime in the next week. They decided that John could do some business for the firm in Toronto and they would make a few days of it. There was some good theatre and some very good restaurants that they wanted to try. Paul added that his libido always reacted well to hotels. John scoffed that his libido was ever present. Paul and his father went for lunch on Friday. "You are looking good son. You really do keep in shape. Good to see you. Let's order and then talk." Paul had no idea what this was about but it was a good restaurant and his father insisted that he was paying. They had an excellent lunch and they chatted about family and friends. They had their coffee. Finally his father looked at him with one of the softest looks that Paul could remember. "Son, I guess that we have disappointed each other a lot over our time." "Yes, Father, that is one way of putting it." He said it almost sadly and his father accepted it that way. "Father, I am who I am." "I guess I have to say in sadness that I am who I am. You know that I am not one for apologies but I have done a lot of reading and reflection lately and I realize too late what I have done." "Dad we cannot undo the past but we can change the present and the future. I have to say there were times when I was bitter, hurt and resentful but you know I have had a really good life. I've lost the love of my life but I have my children and grandchildren that I love dearly. I have a life that I would not change for anything." "Brian was a fine man." "Father, Brian became part of my heart and soul. Brian told me in the last weeks that he knew that he would always be with me but I was to get on with my life and start new memories. A wise man as well. That applies to many things in life." "Son, I don't deserve the attitude that you are showing." "I stand by my words. But be aware that there are things that I cannot change on. I cannot accept what my sister did and continues to do to James. Just so that everything is in the open. I adopted James many years ago. He is officially my son. He is fine man; he has your and my brains and business acumen. I am incredibly proud of him. This is privileged information that only he or I can pass on to my sister." He looked at his father with a question on his face. "Privileged information it is. That brings me to one of the reasons for this talk. I am rewriting my will and I want you to be the executor." "Father, this is the most unexpected conversation I have had in years. Are you certain?" "Absolutely. Paul, I know that I can trust you to do the job quickly and thoroughly. I would also like you to look after your mother. I have put a lot of the assets in trust and you would be the trustee. I set up a joint account with your sister a while back and I think that there are small amounts being taken out of it." "I know that if you were to ask her, she would say that they were incidentals for you and she cannot remember what they were now." "Exactly what she said." "Dad, you have choices. You can let it ride. You can take some money out for some reason, don't use the account and see what happens. You can also transfer all the money out into your own account. Be aware that my sister will attack. Sorry, my bias. The easiest is to use it for something and just leave a very small amount there. Make up an excuse and just keep forgetting to do anything." "You are devious." "Father, if I were dealing with her, it would not be pretty but .... that is why I stay away from her completely. I promise that I shall try not to make things worse and put you or Mother in an awkward position." They discussed the will in more detail and Paul reluctantly accepted his father's request. "Paul would you come to supper tonight? Your mother would like to see you." "Dad, this may seem strange to you but I am in town with a friend. Actually, he has become more than a friend. Don't look so surprised. I won't go into details but Brian not only told me in no uncertain terms that I was to get with my life but he set John and me up. It took us a few months but he lives with me now. The kids have accepted him. He is the senior partner in the law firm in which James is a junior partner. He came to town with me on some business. You will like him, a great guy. Father, I'm back on my old hobby horse. He comes to dinner with me or we go out together downtown." He said it kindly but there was no doubting his intention. "I'll phone your mother and tell her to set the table for an extra guest or I guess I should say family member." Paul tried not to show his surprise and shock. "I have to phone John to make arrangements." Paul left the table, phoned and told John of his surprising invitation." John's only comment was that Paul owed him something special and a really good meal tomorrow. Paul was glad he had left the table because his comment was that hotel rooms must affect John the same way as they did him and that he was more than ready. John added that the telephone sex was turning him on. Paul replied that he always knew that he was easy. He was still chuckling when he arrived back at the table. "We are on." "It looks as you have a good relationship." "Father, I cannot believe that I have been so lucky twice in my life." The visit went so much better than he ever expected. John was his charming best and had his mother totally won over by the end of the evening. He had joked about how much his bill would be when asked some legal questions. He even wrote some of his suggestions for the wording and items to be added to the trust part of the will. It was obvious that his father was very impressed with him. They chatted on the way back to the hotel. As they entered their room, Paul stopped John just inside the door. His eyes were blazing and he had a determined look on his face. "You charmed them just being you. It is a first, a day of firsts. Now you said that you wanted something special for going." "I didn't really mean ...." Paul put his hands gently over his mouth to stop him talking and then his mouth took over. It was a consuming kiss. It went on for minutes as his hands became active. Before the kiss was over, John's shirt was off and his pants and shorts were down to his thighs. Paul was stroking his erection strongly and hard. "Oh shit, Paul. I'm yours, anything you want. Is this what you were thinking about on the drive back?" "Yes and lots more." Without moving from the spot, Paul was on his knees using his tongue on John's very hard cock. John was actually almost crooning in pleasure. His hands were all over Paul's hair, head, neck and face. Paul turned him around and started on his ass and then opened him wide. His tongue on his opening had John in total lust. "Your choice what do you want?" "I need you in me." Paul stood up and turned him around and stared into his eyes. "Sure?" "Anyway you want!" He guided him with his hand and fingers on his rear and at his opening, moving towards a chair. Paul sat on the chair. "You have lube?" John came back with it. "God, how I love watching you walk when you are erect." He took the lube and put it on himself and handed it back to John. He slowly put lots of it in himself with Paul watching him intently almost hypnotically. John leaned over and as he kissed Paul, he placed Paul at his entrance and sank all the way down until he was impaled. Both could feel John's contractions as he adjusted to the invasion. Paul had his eyes closed with the sensation. The kiss never stopped. John started to rise and fall. Each ran their hands over their chests grabbing hair and flicking, rubbing and pinching nipples. They slowed and stopped several times to extend their pleasure. Finally, John's look changed. His eyes closed and he started to move fast up and down. Suddenly, with moans and a shudder, he sent shot after shot over Paul's chest and stomach. Paul found his rhythm and thrust in and quickly he went all the way in and held. Both could feel his first two shots and then he started thrusting until he was finished. John leaned over and took some of his semen off Paul's chest and shared it with him. Paul could not get enough. Paul finally came out and they led each other over to the bed. They lay looking at each other sharing intimacies until they slept. Paul demanded a reversal of last nights roles while they were in the bathroom. They made love watching each other in the mirror, agreeing that it was sexually very stimulating. They agreed that hotels did have an effect. They spent the rest of the weekend with Susan and family. The love between John and Annie and Tom only deepened. It was a glorious few days. A couple of weeks later, Paul received a copy of the will which John looked over, smiling at some of the wording that was clearly his. With it was a new Power of Attorney for Personal Care that included Paul as well as his sister. John pronounced it all sound. Receiving the will had Paul thinking back to the time with his father. Paul recalled that his father had been frailer than he remembered. He pushed that thought back as something for future consideration. They had a great summer and the fall looked as if it would be just as good. They had had Annie and Tom at the cottage for a week and the bond between John and Paul and Annie and Tom grew very close. Paul realized that he too was growing closer each day to John. The call came unexpected in the second week of September. "Mother slow down. What has happened?" He listened carefully. Finally, he gave his mother his cell number and told her he would get a flight and be there before the end of the day. He made a flight reservation and then phoned John. "John, I have to leave for Toronto, now. Father is in the hospital and if what my mother is saying is correct, it doesn't look good. Right, I'll phone when I arrive and know more. You are going to do what?" "Paul, I am going to join you later today or tomorrow at the latest. No debate. Don't forget to take your copy of the Will and your Powers of Attorney for Personal Care. You just should be prepared on both fronts." "Thanks so much, great reminders. If you can't make it, it is OK." "It would not be OK. Paul, swift journey and safe one as well. Will be in contact somehow. Make sure you have chargers for your phone and iPad. Keep your phone on. Bye, love." "Please contact James immediately for me. I'll phone him as soon as I can. You mean so much to me." He called Robbie and Susan on his drive to the airport. On the flight down, Paul replayed the call to John in his mind. John coming to help. 'Bye love'. Wow was all he could say to himself. He rented a car and drove straight to the Hospital arriving at 6 pm. He entered his father's room to find his mother and his sister there. He gave his mother a little hug. "How is he Mother?" "Oh, they don't seem to be telling us anything. We just seem to be waiting." He told his mother that he would go out and ask at the nursing station. His sister had the trace of a smile on her face. They talked a bit and Paul decided to go to the nursing station to hear what they had to say. He introduced himself. His father had had a major heart attack and he had been given all the appropriate medications. He asked what the prognosis was. The nurse seemed reluctant to talk, saying that this was personal information. He said that he understood and pulled out his Powers of Attorney for Personal Care and his photo ID. Her eyes opened wide and smiled at him. Mrs. Sheppard (his sister) had indicated that they were the only ones to whom information was to be given. He repeated his question about the prognosis and the nurse gave him a detailed explanation: a massive heart attack with probable serious damage, it was touch and go and she explained what they would be doing over the next hours and what they had done to this point. He went back to the room. His sister had a smug look on her face. Thank you John for the advice of taking the Powers of Attorney. He gave his mother an edited but detailed version of what the nurse had said. He told his mother that it was serious. His sister looked angry. Shortly, after a doctor came into the room. Paul introduced himself. The doctor looked relieved that he was there. She did a quick check of the vitals and the chart and told them the recommendations. His sister said that she would like to talk this over with her mother. Could the doctor come back in a few minutes? Paul asked a couple of precise medical questions about outcomes and side effects of the the recommendations. The doctor was precise and did not sugarcoat the situation. When the doctor left, his sister looked at him. "I think that Mother and I would like to discuss this alone." "I am going to be here for any discussion that you have about Father." "You have no part in this." "This says differently." He produced the Powers of Attorney and his sister's face hardened as he read the document to her. "We are wasting time. The doctor may finish her rounds and for Father's sake we have to give a decision now. The situation is serious." With bad grace from his sister, they arrived at a consensus about the treatment. They gave their agreement to the doctor. Shortly after 9 pm., there was some talking in the corridor and as Paul looked up, John appeared in the doorway. Paul smiled his big smile. John winked at him. Paul spontaneously gave him a hug and a quiet thanks. Paul's mother looked up. "John, what at a surprised. It is nice to see you again." She introduced John to Barbara, Paul's sister. Barbara was not amused. As he passed Paul, he whispered that James was parking the car. Paul just shook his head with a trace of smile. He left and went into the hall and waited by the elevator. Paul gave him a big hug and brought him up to date on his grandfather and his own mother. James reaction was to shrug his shoulders and say that he was here to see his grandmother and grandfather. It was the first time that he had seen his mother since he left home so many years ago. They entered the room together. Barbara's eyes got big with surprise and then narrowed in anger. "Grandmother, I am so sorry. John was coming down and I wanted to see you and Grandfather." "James it so kind of you to come. I hope this won't cause any problems at work?" "John is my boss." He said with a twinkle in his eye. "Mother, I think that we should get you home." Barbara said rather archly as if the company that they were keeping was questionable. In relief, Paul agreed. "Mother, you need the rest. We'll stay for a while longer and I'll make sure that they have our contact numbers if they need to ask any questions." He gave John a huge hug which lingered when his mother and sister were on the elevator. James finally cleared his throat with a big smile on his face. They separated. They left the hospital a while later making sure that there were contact numbers. John had rented a two bedroom suite close to the hospital for the three of them. They had a quick drink and decided on an early night. Paul showed his appreciation to John in a quiet but very passionate way. The phone rang at 7 am. Paul figured it had to be bad news. It was. His was the first call and he told the hospital that he would contact his mother and sister. John and he were up so they showered, dressed and went for breakfast telling James that he could sleep in and John gave him the car keys. They had breakfast. At 9 o'clock they went to his mother's house. She was devastated. He called his sister who demanded to know why she wasn't informed first. Paul didn't try to explain or excuse himself. What was the use? They discussed arrangements. His sister was appalled at the mention of cremation. Paul commented that it was in the will. They decided on cremation after a service. It was decided that Barbara and her husband would deal with the funeral home and he would deal with his parent's church and make arrangements with the minister. That done he made a quick visit to his father's bank and announced his death, thereby the closing of all his accounts. Then he made a copy of the will making certain that his copy was safe. By the end of the day all arrangements had been made and he, John and James contacted everyone that they thought should know. They went to his mothers late in the afternoon to coordinate all the arrangements. Barbara was smouldering. She forced Paul into the kitchen. "You went to the bank and closed all his accounts." "Of course, that is part of my duties." "What fucking duties." From her tone and comments, he dropped what he suspected would be a bomb. "The executor's duties." She was dumb struck. "I have power of attorney on some of his accounts!" "A common misapprehension. Not now. That ended with his death. Want to talk to my lawyers? I can call John and James in if you wish." "I'll fight this." "I would advise you very strongly to not even contemplate that. I have a copy of the will here and it is available from Dad's lawyer if you have any doubts. You can contact him if you have any questions. Dad wanted the executor to be someone who was not a beneficiary." She took the copy of the will almost with disdain. The minister arrived after supper. Introductions were made. He introduced John first as his lawyer and friend. James and he had talked in advance. "Canon, I would like you meet my son, James Steadman. They shook hands not without a look of confusion in the Canon's face. "I understand that your sister also has a son called James. "It is a complicated story. He is a junior partner in my friend John's law firm." He took the hint. His sister on the other hand looked nonplussed and even more angry. "I would like you to meet the rest of my family when they arrive tomorrow." Little did he know just how many would be turning up. The funeral was scheduled for two days later with visiting tomorrow and the morning before the funeral. It turned out the Susan was hosting a horde. On the first day of visitation, Kevin arrived; he gave Dave's regrets for not being able to get off work. A short time later, Matt, James partner, arrived giving James a big hug, obviously intimate. Paul's sister looked disgusted. Then Robbie and Jason arrived. Susan came for the evening. He was suddenly surrounded by his family. He was touched by their coming. The finishing touch was John's friend Marthe who worked with James and John. For the funeral service, Paul insisted that he sit on one side of his mother, with James and that the rest of his family including John would sit behind any of Barbara's family or friends. Of course, there were objections from Barbara that it was improper. He simply told her that was the way it was going to be and instructed the staff at the church to set aside the first four rows for family. The service was dignified and comforting. There was a reception in the church hall. The minister approached him during the reception and he introduced all his family. The minister had talked to many of them over the course of the previous days. The minister had looked at him and said he had an interesting family. He ended by saying that he was a fortunate man. They had an exuberant supper together at a good restaurant that evening. Paul and John arrived back at their hotel later in the evening after visiting his mother and making arrangements for Paul to sit down with her tomorrow and go over all the details. Paul was feeling very emotional. The door closed and the tears came. John looked at him and quickly folded him into his arms, looking at him intently. "I feel so emotional. The tears aren't just tears of sadness." John held him at arms length. "I know. Those are tears for many reasons. For your father." He nodded yes. "For Brian." A wistful yes. "For anger at your sister." A definite yes. "For the joy of having your family surrounding you and supporting you." Saying yes yet again, Paul put his fingers on John's lips. "And for you. For your support, your charm your love. I saw your tears during the service. For Mark?" "Yes but also in joy for you and the wonderful family that has taken me in." Paul had only had a few such moments in his life, all with Brian. He felt at peace and filled with joy, knowing that he was doing the right thing. He knew what this meant. "John, make love to me." He whispered it softly, intimately. John too had only a few feelings like this in his life, all previously with Mark. John was deeply touched and Paul wiped the tears from John's eyes. "That is all I have done for the last months." The kiss started off soft and almost chaste but that changed within second to a loving, passionate kiss. As they kissed, they each took turns taking off the other's shirts. Who knew that touch could be so intoxicating? John had leaned over and was sucking on Paul's nipples. John held Paul out from him. "I need a shower, hot, refreshing and stimulating. You? With me, together?" Paul's answer was to lead him to the bathroom, turning on the hall light and turning off the bathroom light. "A little more atmosphere. Don't you think?" They undressed themselves slowly watching the process in the mirror. The repeated the kisses and touched each others bodies all over. Paul shuddered as John ran his fingers up and down his legs and thighs just brushing his balls lightly. They washed each other slowly and methodically. The shower was hot and the spray was hard against their bodies. Every touch of spray and fingers caused little frissons of pleasure. When they had dried each other, Paul bent over the counter handing John the lube. John slowly put it on himself and then with great care put a lot in Paul. He turned Paul sideways so that they could both see John entering him. John entered almost in slow motion, slowly disappearing into Paul until there was no space between them. Paul turned for a kiss. As they kissed, John's hands were on his chest and nipples. He went slowly and then suddenly pinched his right nipple hard. He was rewarded with Paul's cry of pleasure. He started to stroke him long and very slowly and to repeat his rhythm coming in and out of Paul. Paul's hand reached around to caress John's hips and between his legs. He managed to capture one ball and roll it in his fingers and slowly pull it down. John stopped in obvious total pleasure. They lost track of time until John yelled that he was too close and withdrew. He made Paul let him take his position and they watched Paul lube himself and John. They watched Paul disappear into John. When Paul was too close to finishing, he too came out. They looked at each other, smiling. "Just when I think that it cannot get any better ...." "Paul, you are amazing." With arms around each other, they put the light on in the bathroom and turned out the lights in the room. They could see each other in soft outline. Still standing, they kissed and their hands traced up each others erections, now slick with lube and so enlarged, incredibly sensitive to all touches. Paul lay on the bed with his legs spread wide. John knelt and entered him, lying on him and kissing him with his tongue invading his mouth. Paul put his legs up over John's shoulders and John knelt, leaning forward and started to plunge in and out. He was hitting all the right spots as Paul yelled and cursed. John was determined that he wanted Paul in him and so when he reached that point, he quickly withdrew and lay beside Paul with his legs wide and knees bent up. Paul almost in automatic knelt and entered him quickly and started to piston in and out. John was imitating his rhythm with his hands on his own erection. When Paul knew that he would not last, he stopped and kissed John, invading his mouth. "Close?" "Paul, I am right with you." As Paul started to piston again, John followed his actions on himself with his hands. They watched each other's faces as their looks changed from concentration, to expectation, to harsh pleasure. John could feel Paul's change in rhythm and his final push. He could actually feel his contractions. Paul could see John's eye open wide, feel his first contractions and the first shot that reached his chest. They were both making guttural noises and their breathing was heavy almost breathless. Paul collapsed on John. Eventually, they managed to turn sideways with Paul still in John. "John, love, thank you so much for all you have done in the last weeks. You have been my help, my companion, my guide and my love." "Paul, you have brought so much to me." The events of the last week had been the cementing of a relationship that had taken months to evolve and grow. They knew that there were lots of challenges ahead of them. Paul's mother and his sister. The grandkids growing up and facing the trials and decisions of life. John's ageing parents. Their own increasing age. Family emergencies. Each knew that together they would make a great team to face them. These last days had brought the family closer together for which Paul gave thanks. John felt the way Paul must have felt as he became part of Brian's family and added slowly to it. He too felt filled with joy. They talked and said intimate things and finally drifted off to sleep touching each other. Comments preecherdave@gmail.com Author's Note This is the last Chapter. Hope you enjoyed it.
