Another story you may enjoy is A Cantabrian Operetta, By Jonah in the same section Adult/Youth A Neglected Boy "The Twins" XXVII jacoblion@tutanota.com The story is told by either Jake or Kori in alternating Chapters ............. Kori and I looked at each other and we both had that smile, you know the one that says `let's be naughty'. Kyle and Justin were all tucked in and sound asleep and Ethan had had his own little smile as he walked to his room saying . . . "I love this family". Everything was quiet when we closed the door to our bedroom. Kori made a mad dash to the master bath dropping his clothes on the way and I was stripping one piece at a time slowly. Kori returned naked and in a rather excited state and was helping me remove my shorts, boxers, and socks. The heat lamps were on, the oversized shower was hot and so were Kori and I. I laughed as Kori dumped half the bottle of strawberry shampoo on us; I think we smelled like some dessert with strawberries and Kori was my dessert and there was no discussion. Kori was slippery from head to toe and all white with suds. It has been forever since we have been able to have this much fun. I flipped him around and pulled his back to me and began to rub his chest in circles. He sounded like a kitten with all the purring. The circles, small and gentle, almost not touching the skin had Kori at full attention as I continued downward ...... then stopped just short of the intended destination. I heard Kori say . . . "Please" . . . Not a chance, no way. I slid my hand back to his neck and began the descent again. Four times I repeated this till his body was begging and then spun Kori around. He was facing me and in one swift move I dropped and continued the stimulation and friction until he reached that critical point of no return, that level of excitement where it's unstoppable. Kori arched back as he always does. ...... I could feel the pulsing and then it was over. Kori and I spent a few more minutes tightly embracing and then relaxed under the warmth of a gentle mist. There was hardly a word spoken, we dried, opened the door and ...... and there in the middle of our bed were two little forms with black hair peeking out from under the covers. Kori gently lifted the covers and checked ........ yep sound asleep. I think Kori and I were lucky to have the little time we had, and certainly did enjoy it. I slid beneath the covers and snuggled up to Justin; he turned and put his arm over mine but never woke. I looked at Kori and smiled, he had wrapped his arms around Kyle and both were asleep. The night was evil, fierce, nasty, hateful, and miserable the wind never stopped and the rain was more like pebbles beating the side of the house. We were nearly shaken from our bed when a bolt of lightning struck the tree next to the house. The house was in darkness and there was a funny odor in the air. Justin and Kyle were wrapped in our arms and then Ethan came running and joined us. We decided to move to the living room it had better protection from the strong winds which were increasing by the minute. We had just entered the living room when a second bolt of lightning hit somewhere in the yard. The thunder was so loud that it shook the house. We were surrounded by darkness the kind of darkness that you see and feel in a horror movie; it was if at any moment some creature would enter and rip someone's head off. Kyle and Justin were so scared they were holding Kori and me so tight they left finger indentations on our arms. The wind died down and the rain was now just a drizzle and finally we began to relax. Ethan said he would bring some drinks. He started to the kitchen and just then the third lightning strike hit followed by such loud thunder that it hurt our ears, for a second we were deaf. Kyle and Justin screamed and were crying, pleading for it to stop. Kori looked to our large picture window just as it cracked from corner to corner. Soon there was an orange glow from our yard, the tree was on fire and the next thing we heard was almost like a train, then the wind again howling, beating against the side of the house the rain began and turned to hail as it pounded, and pounded and began to tear the shingles off like peeling an orange. The thunderous roar of the approaching train had me shaking, and shaking uncontrollably; I could hear loud voices screaming, screaming Jake, wake up, please dad wake up. It had been a nightmare a nightmare for me and the boys. Justin and Kyle were crying and Kori and Ethan were trying to keep me from falling on the floor as I thrashed around on the bed. It was over but I felt sick and I hurt all over. Ethan went to get some water for me, and Kori was holding Kyle and Justin was clinging to me and just would not let go. His little body was shaking in fear and I think he may have wet himself. I swung my legs off the bed and picked Justin up in my arms; it wasn't Justin who was wet it was me. I was embarrassed but no one else had noticed. I was trying to get Justin to let go and it was a real problem he was holding so tight; finally I told him I needed to go to the bathroom and reluctantly he let go. When I returned Ethan handed me the water and asked if I was going to be ok. Kori had noticed the sheet was damp and said . . . "Jake you were sweating I think we should change the sheet." We remade the bed, I took two ibuprofen and we tried to sleep again. I don't think Kori or I got much sleep. Justin would not let go of me and Kyle was restless for the remainder of the night. Morning came all too quickly and everyone looked as if we had been in a storm. Ethan was in best shape and had tea and coffee made as Kori and I dragged from the bedroom to the kitchen with Kyle and Justin in tow. We ate a simple breakfast of pancakes then showered and dressed and made plans for the day. Kori took Ethan and was off to the university to get with his team for the upcoming trip to Italy. I had the rug-rats and was off to the university legal office to see what papers we would need for Justin and Kyle along with their passports and legal IDs. It was surprising that we all were free for lunch at just a little past noon and went to our favorite sandwich shop "Vito's Deli. http://vitosdelinh.com/menu.php For now we are protecting Ethan and avoiding the university dining hall. Lunch was amazing as usual and we discussed plans for the afternoon. Kori and Ethan were heading back to the university to make final plans for the universities involvement at the new dig site adjacent to the continued exploration at Pompeii. Kori explained . . . "This is just a preliminary step and we will be one of ten teams from other international universities from around the world." Kyle and Justin wanted to know if they could help dig. We all smiled and Kori explained that this time there wouldn't be much digging but there would be tons of photos so they better bring their cameras. Ethan had this big smile and said . . . "Kori and one of his grad students said I may be able to join them one or two days on site; that is if it was ok with you Jake." . . . I smiled and said . . . "Oh Ethan I don't know" . . . Ethan looked at me then realized I was teasing and said . . . "thanks a lot Bartholomew" ..... Rug-rats burst into hysterical laughter pointing at me and calling me by my new name. Kori and Ethan were back at the Archaeology Department and I had Justin and Kyle at the legal department for new photos and legal documents. Tomorrow I would take the boys to New York City and visit the Korean and Italian consulates for further documentation so there would be no chance of any problems at airports or immigration while entering or leaving the countries with our charming sweet little rug-rats. Ethan had suggested invisible tape for their mouths. We had finished all we could by 4 pm and decided to just go home and have a big stir-fry for dinner and chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. We played monopoly until it was time for an early bed. I felt a small hand find its way into mine and then he crawled onto my lap. Justin whispered in my ear . . . "No bad dreams tonight dad" It was difficult to hold back the tears. Kitchen was clean, lights turned off and rug-rats took their shower in our bathroom and just crawled in bed. Ethan said goodnight and was off to his shower and bedroom. Kori and I took a quick shower and snuggled up to the twins. The night was dark with no moon and there was no sound and sleep came in an instant. Morning came with that hateful sun shining on and reflecting off the mirror. Purposely it finds me, it picks on me, not Kori, not Kyle or Justin, just me. Fine! I'll get up. I didn't even try to be quiet. If I had to be up so did everyone else. I didn't even close the bathroom door to pee and I tried to pee as loud as I could. I brushed my teeth loudly, I gargled as loud as I could, almost choked, and left the bathroom slamming the door. I looked at the bed and the three of them hadn't even moved! I went to the window grabbed the shade and in a quick downward motion snapped it letting it fly up with a loud crack. Nothing, maybe they were dead. Pissed, I just left, but I didn't close the bedroom door, nope and I turned on Good Morning America and turned up the TV, loud. Ethan walked out and joined me in the kitchen with this adorable face of his, smiling and all cheerful and said . . . "Good morning, sleep well? ...... a little grumpy this morning are we Bartholomew? ..... Oh that did it ! ! ! ! ! He ran down the hall laughing with me right behind him. He turned quick and caught me and gave me a big bear hug and a kiss on the forehead and said . . . . "There you go all better now." . . . Well by this time I was laughing too and Ethan and I went back and made coffee and even put tea on for Kori. Minutes later Kori appeared looking all rested and ready to start the day. Rug-rats those little darlings were still sleeping. I looked at Ethan and winked. Kori and I sat at the counter it was dead quiet, not a sound, and then it sounded like little piglets squealing. Ethan had attacked them and by the time Kori and I peeked around and looked the bed had been torn apart. ..... But .......... Revenge of the wicked twosome .... Kyle and Justin had Ethan pinned spread eagle to the bed and were torturing him unmercifully. Well it looked like fun to me and Kori so we joined in. When Ethan had enough and pleaded saying Uncle, uncle, I give please no more we pointed at him and said . . . . "Bartholomew". We had a great breakfast with laughs then it was quick showers, dress nice for the university and for Justin and Kyle, and me to drive on into New York. Kori took Ethan and was off to the university and as I was driving with Kyle and Justin I explained how important it was to be on best behavior and use our very, very best manners. Our first stop was at the South Korean Consulate. We sat politely until we were ushered in to meet with the administrative consul. Justin and Kyle bowed and spoke softly. I explained everything and gave the documents to the consul. He read all the papers and called in a staff member. The conversation was in Korean but when finished he called Kyle and Justin to come sit next to him and they had a very long conversation. He smiled and both he and the boys laughed quite a bit. I wondered what those little rug-rats told him. The staff member returned with more very official looking documents and handed them to me. The consul said . . . "With the documents you brought and the documents we have prepared you will have no problem visiting any member state of the European Union. Please note that on page 3 you will find the name and phone number of the Korean Consul in Naples and he and his staff speak English. You also will see my international number should you need my help for any reason. I want Ji-hu and Ji-ho to have the best trip and much fun too. I couldn't believe how kind and nice everything was just unbelievable how quick it was done. We were at our next stop at the Italian Consulate. We entered explained and sat and waited. Again we were ushered in and greeted by a very distinguished administrative consul. Justin and Kyle bowed but this time the consul extended his hand and the boys shook hands with him. He smiled and said . . . "bene, bene" . . . then he looked at me and said . . . "What nice boys and good strong hand shake, sign of good character" He looked at all the papers both from the university and the Korean Consulate then he looked at me and said . . . "Dr. Roberts I attended Yale for a year. I was friends with a history professor there." ...... I thought my heart couldn't beat that fast, could it be? And then he asked . . . "I don't suppose you know Professor Alves?" . . . The boys giggled and big mouth Kyle without thinking spoke up . . . "You mean Gramps?" . . . I was so embarrassed and the consul looked surprised. I explained everything and apologized .... He began to laugh and said . . . `Yes that would be him" The consul turned and grabbed a photo album and showed us this photo. It was Professor and the consul some years ago and Professor had that same beard. The next two hours were stories of the consul and Professor at Yale. I can't repeat the stories but what I can say is I know the Professor likes beer and pizza and by the looks of the photo so did the consul. An assistant arrived and had a diplomatic folder with papers which the consul signed and handed to me. Included in the folder were the names, addresses and phone numbers of a number of Italians in Naples. He hugged the boys and gave them gift books of Pompeii and Rome and signed each. There was that one last hug and in Italian tradition a kiss on each cheek. We were back in the car and with a quick stop at McDonalds we were home just at five. The boys explained everything to Kori and Ethan over dinner and for the next three hours it was non-stop stories of the day. Everything was in place and we checked flights. It looks like we will take the train to JFK and fly Air Italy to Naples. We were all too excited for early bed plus Kori and rug-rats slept late. The laptop was churning out info and more info when the phone rang. Ethan answered and said . . . "Kori it's for you ......" To be Continued . . . . .
