Chapter 47 - Burgett Park.

When Hunter and I woke up in the morning, we both opted to have a bowl of cereal and a couple slices of toast this morning, because I didn't want to be late.  When we finished, I put on a pair of shorts and a polo shirt, ready to leave the house.

"Are you going home now?" I asked Hunter.

"No, I'm goin' to the park with you."

I was surprised by his answer, but didn't react in a way that he would notice.  I merely helped him take his bike outside, and then he rode beside me as I walked over to the park.

"Mr. Roberson, you should get a bike too.  It would be a lot faster than walking, and you'd get the same amount of exercise."

"You may be right about that.  Maybe I'll run over to the same place I got your bike during my lunch hour."

"Can I go with you?"

"I'm not sure that will be possible.  All of the other boys will probably be at the park too, and then they'll want to go with me as well, if I let you go.  That's why I think it would be best if I went alone."

"Ok, but I'd like to go with you if it's possible.  Aren't all of us s'posed eat lunch with you?"

"Yes, you're right and I forgot about that, so maybe I'll just go look at bikes after work instead."

"Yeah, and then I can go with you, because the other boys will be goin' home by then."

"Ok, then that's what we'll do."

He was satisfied, so we entered the park and headed toward the building they used to run the various programs.  I'd never been inside it before, so I quickly looked around after we walked through the door.  There was a ping pong table at either end of the long room, and I also noticed the word 'Guys' next to a door on the wall at one end, and the word 'Gals' next to a door on the wall at the other end.

In the center of the room there was a pool table, and on one side between the pool and ping pong tables were two bumper pool tables.  On the other side of it was an air hockey table and a foosball game.  I also noticed the metal signs on the office and storage room doors, and there was a large bulletin board located on the wall in between.  There were also a few tables and chairs pushed against the walls that could be used for various activities, so now I had a pretty good idea about the lay of the land.  Satisfied, I went over to speak with the two people who seemed to be in charge.

"Hi, I'm Marshall Roberson and I'm supposed to be setting up the acting program."

"Glad to meet you.  I'm Paul Tobias and this is Patty Erickson.  We're two of the counselors in charge of this park for the summer.  There's a third guy as well, Tom Lampo, but he's walking around outside and checking that area out.  A maintenance guy unlocked the building and let us in a short time ago, and Mr. Ramsey said he'd be stopping by to give us the keys and explain a few things."

"Great!  It sounds good to me, so I'm going to go outside and walk around the park until he gets here.  I want to check out the mobile stage."

"Ok, one of us will blow our whistle when Mr. Ramsey shows up, so you'll know when to come back here," Paul added.

Since Hunter was more familiar with the park than I was, he led me outside and showed me around.  There were two tennis courts that were surrounded by a chain link fence that was ten feet (2.4 m) high, and a black top basketball court that also had a chain link fence blocking if off from the street.

In between the building and those areas was a playground area for the younger children which had one of those newer play centers that included many different types of activities.  There were several types of ladders, stairs, and other apparatus the kids could climb on, and they led up to several platforms and a couple of towers.  There were different types of slides coming off of those areas: some short, some long, and there was even a curly slide.  Extending from either side of the tallest tower there were two enclosed tubes that the kids could use to slide down as well.  There were both solid and flexible bridges going between various areas, that the kids could walk across to get from one platform to another.

In addition to those things, there were several swings: some with the normal, flexible seat held up by chains, and there was another type of swing with a wooden seat that had a bar across it for the smallest children to use.  There was also a modern type of manual merry-go-round that the older kids or parents could twirl around by hand.  At various predetermined spots long the platform of the merry-go-round there were ropes attached, and they connected to the top of the center pole, giving it a very unique appearance.

In addition to those areas, there was a baseball diamond, a softball field, and a wide swath of grass between those two areas so they could be used at the same time.  I was also told that the grassy area was lined as a midget league football field in the fall, and for the youth soccer program in the spring.  There was also a large parking lot for those driving to the park, so this place saw a lot of action.

"What's on the other side of the tree line?" I asked, as I pointed to a spot on Maple Street that was next to the park.

"That's Memorial Pool," Hunter answered.  "We can go swimming there too, but it's usually pretty crowded 'cept during the day, but that's when you'll be workin'."

"We still might have to check it out."

I was just about to walk over and inspect the mobile stage, which appeared to be closed up, when I heard a whistle.  "Ok, I've got to go back to the building, and you can't come with me this time because I have a meeting.  I'll catch up with you later."

"K," he grunted in reply, which let me know he wasn't happy.

I'd warned him earlier that this was going to happen, but he still seemed upset as I made my way over to the building again.  Owen was there when I walked in, and he quickly introduced me to Tom, since Paul and Patty had told him that we'd already met.

"Ok, let me give each of you your keys.  There's one that will let you into the building and can be used to lock both the interior and exterior doors to the toilets.  There's another key for the office and storage areas, because different groups use the building as well, such as various sports programs, but we don't want them in either of those two areas.

"Marshall, your key chain will have an additional key for the mobile stage, so you can get inside.  Just let me know when you're planning on using it and I'll have it set up for you.  I'll assign a couple of the employees from the maintenance department to take care of it, and they'll also close it up again when you're done.  Unfortunately, we can't leave it open over night, because when we did that before the high school students used it to have a party."

He then showed us the office and pointed out the refrigerator where we could put our lunches and drinks in while we were working.  He also pointed out the first aid kit and related first aid devices.

"Mr. Ramsey, wouldn't those groups need to get into the office so they can get to the first aid supplies if something happened to one of the players?" Tom asked.

"No, they're required to have either an ambulance or an E.M.T. with appropriate first aid equipment available when they use the grounds."

"Ok, that's good to know," Patty concurred.

He then took us to see the storage area and explained that one side was for arts & crafts supplies, while the other side was where I could store anything I was going to be using for the plays.  It was all very clean and well organized, and Owen said he expected us to keep it that way.

While he was with us, he also pointed out a few things about the building and grounds, and I was told the other counselors worked overlapping shifts and rotated when they worked, but the building was open 9:00 to 9:00, Monday through Friday.  The building was closed on the weekend, except for the toilets, to encourage the kids to spend those days with their families.  It was also to get the parents to come to the park to supervise their kids during those times.

After he'd explained everything, he told us we could use the bulletin board to post announcements, such as signup sheets for any field trips they might be planning or for the signup sheets for the acting classes and plays.  Owen also said the maintenance crew would attach pens to the bulletin board frame with chains so the kids could use them to sign up for various events.  He said we could also use the bulletin board to give special recognition to any of the kids or to promote any other activities we might want to have.  Once he finished telling us the basics, he asked me to follow him out to the mobile stage so he could explain how it worked.

It was set up along the edge of the parking lot, but it faced the grassy area.  Owen explained it had been placed there because it worked best when using the black top for support, and the actors didn't get as messed up when going to and from the stage in bad weather.  He also told me the actors got onto or off of the stage using the door at either end of the trailer, and there were portable stairs leading up to the doors, each with three steps.  The actors would then wait behind a screen and listen for their cue before making their entrance, but they would also exit through that location as well.

Both of the doors opened in a way that used the door prevented most of the audience from seeing the actors inside while they were waiting to move onstage.  When Owen unlocked the door and led me inside, he pointed out a few other things.  First of all, there were four portable screens, and two of them could be utilized on either side of the stage to block off the wings.  He then explained that I could place the other two in front of the stairs to prevent people from seeing who was using them as they were taking their places.

The side of the trailer facing the grass could be opened whenever we were going to be using the stage, and the floor of the trailer and lower half of that side were covered with wood.   The two halves of the side that opened up could be locked in place from the inside when not in use, and Owen showed me where the lock was located.  Once I'd seen all of those things, he took me outside to explain the process.

"The bottom half of the side comes down to form the floor of the stage, and that is why there is wood on it, to prevent any metallic sounds when the actors were moving around.  The stage extends out into the open, toward the audience, and then the other half can be propped up to form a temporary roof.  Here," he said as he pointed to several locations on the underside of the trailer, "are the supports for the stage, and they slide out so the side can be lowered onto them.  Once they are all in place, the side is unlocked from the inside and lowered on top of the supports.

"The upper half is then raised using metal poles that screw into joints that are located on the outer corners at the bottom of that side.  One the top half is screwed in, the metal pole is used to lift the side into place, and then the other end of the metal pole is placed in a metallic cup just inside the trailer.  It's kind of primitive, but it works for our purposes."

"Hey, if Shakespeare could make do with very little, then so can I."

He laughed.  "I like your attitude.  Now that you've seen everything and know what to expect, I want you to start introducing yourself to the kids and see who wants to sign up for the acting program this year."

"Sure, I'll be happy to do that.  I already know several who plan on being part of it."

Owen laughed again.  "Somehow I thought maybe you would."

When we got back to the building, Owen asked a question.  "Who is supposed to be working the late shift today?"  Tom and Patty indicated they were.  "Ok, you've been here an hour and a half, so come back at 1:30 and work until 9:00 today, but the rest of the week it will be noon to 9:00."

Once that had been settled, Owen continued.  "The day person works 9:00 to 5:00, so Marshall you'll always be working with that individual to help keep order, while also working with your group.  We always want at least two staff members on site at all times, so one will be able to handle any problems, either disciplinary or injury, and the other one will be able to keep the other kids calm.  That means Marshall will be working with each of you at some point, seeing you rotate shifts.  Any questions?"

Since there were none, Owen started speaking again.  "If any of you are sick and can't work, call my office and I'll send someone out to cover for you, and if there's no one else available, then I'll do it."  I think the thought of Owen having to cover for us was enough to make sure we didn't call in except in an extreme emergency.

Once we were set, Owen said he'd drop by to check on us from time to time, I suppose to keep us on our toes, and then he left, along with Patty and Tom.  I sat down to talk to Paul for a while, since I felt we should know a little about each other if we were going to be working together.

Once I told him I was a teacher, Paul explained that he and the other two were all education majors in college.  Paul said he was a science major, Patty was a math major, and Tom was a physical education major, but it would give us something to talk about during the slow times.  I took an immediate liking to Paul and knew we'd get along very well, but we didn't have much time to continue our conversation.  Hunter, the other boys, and a few other kids came into the building about that time, so Paul and I stopped chatting so we could introduce ourselves to those we didn't know.  He didn't know any of them, so I let him begin with the boys, while I focused on the other kids and started learning a little about them too.

Once I finished chatting with them, I put a sign up sheet for the acting program on the bulletin board.  When I went back to check it again later, I saw there were quite a few kids who had signed up already.  In addition to my boys, there were a half dozen other names on the list as well, so we were off to a good start.  I was hoping that by Monday we could get started with the classes and possibly some role playing.

Shortly after noon, the boys wanted to know when we could go to my place to eat lunch and I had to explain something to them.  "Today I won't be able to leave until the other two get here at 1:30.  They'd normally start their shift at noon, but they get to come back later this time because of the meeting this morning."

"Ok, we'll just eat our lunch here, and then we'll go with you to your place later," Will suggested.

"So you all brought your lunches with you?"

"Yeah, we told you we were going to do that.  It's in our backpacks."

"So you're going to wear those around all the time?"

"I guess we'll have to."

"You will today, but if you show up at my house before I leave in the morning, then you can keep them there."

"Yeah, ok.  We'll do that then," they all agreed.

I felt badly for Hunter, because he didn't have anything with him that he could eat with the rest of them, because he'd stayed with me the previous night, but he insisted he was fine.  I told him I'd fix us both something to eat when we got to the house.

When Patty and Tom showed up, only Hunter went with me when I left to go to the house.  I'd talked with the other boys and they said they'd ride over in a few minutes, because we didn't want everyone else asking why they were going with me.  This gave Hunter and me time to fix sandwiches, since I'd picked up some lunch meat when I went shopping on Sunday, and we'd devoured part of them by the time the others showed up.  They waited until we had finished, after I explained that Hunter didn't know they were all bringing their lunch to the park, and no one else had a problem with it.  As soon as we finished, however, they wanted to know what we were going to do next.

"Are we gonna be able to do like we normally do?" Nolan asked once Hunter and I had cleaned up the kitchen.

"Probably not, since that usually takes longer than we have before I need to be back at the park.  I was thinking that you could suck each other off instead, and you wouldn't even have to get undressed.  You could just lower your pants until your partner got you off."

"Damn, I thought we were gonna do the other stuff!" Tucker groaned.

"I only have an hour for lunch, and it takes about ten minutes to get here, and another ten minutes to get back.  It will also take time for each of you to eat, so that won't leave nearly enough time for you to get undressed, get ready, have sex, and switch so both guys get a turn before you have to clean up, dress, and leave for the park."

"Ok, I see what you mean, and it's better than nothin'," Gary agreed.

"Mr. Roberson, can I be with you?" Jon asked.

"That's fine with me, but no one will suck me off during the lunch hour."

"Why not?" Nolan shot back.

"Because I take a lot longer and I don't want to run out of time or end up being late getting back.  Don't worry, I'm no longer a horny teen like you guys, so I'll be able to wait until we have more time."

Even though I was with Jon, I kept an eye on Hunter too, so I could see how he was going to do with this.  He was with Gary, but Gary was going to blow him first, so I focused on Jon and attempted to get him off so I could watch how Hunter did when it was his turn.

After Jon lowered his shorts and underwear, I began licking his scrotum and penis and was amazed at how much he'd actually grown since I'd last done this with him.  His penis was not only longer, but it was plumper too, and he had a nice start on his public bush.  He had definitely matured since we'd first started.

As soon as his penis was erect, I lowered my mouth over it and began to bob up and down.  Jon was making quiet a bit of noise, but it was a combination of encouraging me to do what he liked best and compliments about how I was making him feel, mixed in with the normal groans of pleasure.  I had also wet a finger and slipped it into his butt so I could massage his prostate at the same time, and Jon didn't last very long due to this dual stimulation.  Before long, he filled my mouth with his watery seed and produced more than I'd expected, but it was still as sweet as honey in the early spring.

Once I'd finished with Jon, I gave him time to recover while I watched how Hunter was doing.  Gary was still working on him, so I got to see when he fed Gary his cream, and then they switched so he could return the favor.  Hunter didn't hesitate when he began licking and sucking on Gary's penis, but the challenge would be when Gary ejaculated, because Hunter has never had anyone do it in his mouth before.  I was anxious to see how he was going to handle it.

As I watched Gary, I could tell when he was getting close, so I focused on Hunter to see how he responded.  Gary's body tensed up as the first blast escaped from his penis, and Hunter seemed a little surprised by how it felt when it happened.  He didn't pull off, though, and I could tell by watching his throat that he was swallowing it too.  When Gary had released the last of his juices, Hunter finally released Gary's penis and looked up.  I quickly spotted semen on his lips, and there was more running down his chin, but I was totally blown away when his tongue flicked out of his mouth and he began to lick off as much as possible.

When he noticed I was watching him, he flashed me a little grin and then used his hand and arm to wipe off what he couldn't reach with his tongue.  Then he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a paper towel to wipe off the residue.  When he finished, he threw the paper towel in the trash and walked over to me.

"That wasn't so bad, and it didn't taste bad either."

"I'm glad you handled it so well."

"Thanks, but I watched the other guys when Gary was doin' it to me and saw how they handled it, so I just tried to do the same thing."

"That's good, but they've done it before and this was your first time."

"Yeah, but I figured if they could do it, then I could too."

"I see.  Well, I'm glad you didn't mind what happened then."

Once everyone had finished and cleaned up, the boys left in small groups first, and then I walked back to the park alone.  They had originally wanted to chat with me on the way back, but I felt it would look better if I showed up without anyone else with me.  No one said anything when we returned, so I just continued what I was doing before I left.

When 5:00 eventually rolled around, Paul and I said goodbye to Patty and Tom, and then we left for the day.  Hunter waited until he saw that I was nearly all of the way home first, and then he rode his bike over to catch up with me.

"Are you going to go get your bike now?" he asked as we were going down the driveway.

"Yes, as soon as I get to the car."

"Can I go with you?"

"Yes, but let's leave your bike inside first."

We drove to the same shop that I'd taken him to get his bike, and when we walked in, the owner recognized us immediately.  He also seemed to think there was a problem.

"Is something wrong with the bike you bought here?"

"Absolutely nothing, and Hunter's enjoying it tremendously," I replied with Hunter nodding his head in agreement.  "It's just that I need a bike now."

"Do you know what you want?"

"I thought maybe you could help me select something appropriate."

The owner then began asking me questions about the types of terrain I would be using the bike on, so I told him mostly streets, rather than on grass or trails.  He then wanted to know how often I planned on using it, and whether I would be riding it at dawn or dusk.  Once I answered his questions, he showed me a bike he thought would be suitable.  It looked nice and I felt I would enjoy using it, but I noticed Hunter making a face.

"What?  Don't you like this bike?"

"Yeah, it's nice, but I thought you would get one like mine.  I think it would be neat if we could ride around on the same type of bikes."

I looked at the owner and asked him a question.  "Would the same type of bike we bought for him work for me too?"

"Yes, especially if you're going to be keeping up with him," he said with a wink and a grin.

"Then I guess that settles it.  I'll take what he has, without the light or additional reflectors, though, because I doubt I'll be riding around after dusk.  However, I will take the same type of lock that I bought for him to use."

"Fine, and you have several bikes to choose from, so let's go pick one out," the man stated as he led us to another part of the store.

There were some slightly different sizes, and that particular bike was offered in other colors too, but Hunter wanted it to be exactly like his.  Therefore, I ended up with a silver bike as well, and Hunter wheeled it out to the car for me after I settled up with the owner.  Once I had put it in the trunk and we were in our seats, Hunter looked at me and grinned.

"Thanks, Dad, for getting a bike like mine so we can ride them together now."

"It seemed very important to you, so it was an easy decision to make.  And I'm glad you didn't call me dad in front of the shop owner.  I don't think we'll see him very often, but I don't want him to say anything about you being my son if we ever come back here and someone else we know is here too."

"Yeah, I know.  That's why I didn't do it, but I almost slipped."

"I'm glad you didn't."

When we reached the house, I took the bike out of the car and was going to take it into the house for now.  Before I did, however, Hunter spoke up.  "Can we go out for a ride first?"

"That might not be a bad idea.  We can ride over to the park so I can see what it's going to be like."

"Yeah, let's do that."

I unlocked the door so he could get his bike, and then we rode over to the park, the same as I would be doing five days a week for the next eight weeks.  It wasn't a strenuous ride, although I think I burned more calories than when I walked there, and it was faster too, cutting my travel time in half.  We no sooner reached there than we turned around and retraced our route, but when we arrived at the top of the driveway, I stopped and looked at Hunter.

"I imagine you are planning to go home now, so you can eat with your mother?"

"Yeah, and she's probably mad cuz I'm late."

"And you knew you'd be late getting home before you went with me."

"Yeah, I knew that would probably happen, but I wanted to go with you when you went to get your bike.  I'm glad I did too, or you would have bought the wrong bike."

"Yeah, I probably would have.  Ok, get going then, and I'll see you tomorrow."

"Ok, I'll ride over here early so I can ride with you to the park too."

"Have a good night then, and I'll see you in the morning."

"Night, Dad.  I love you," he added before he took off.

I watched as he pedaled down River Street and turned toward the Elm Street bridge, and then I rode to the house, took the bike inside, and headed into the kitchen to fix dinner.
