At a small non-descript classified Army base in Montana the Base Commander Colonel Randall Masters and JAG Colonel Adrian Johnson were woken from a sound sleep by a ringing phone. Answering the phone Colonel Master announced the base better be on fire or someone is in deep shit.
The Provost Marshall announced a plane squawking DOD1 was requesting permission to land and the Secretary of Defense is request you meet him at his plane in dress uniforms with your "go bag" in hand. Whatever is happening it is above my pay grade. I have a vehicle headed to your quarters to transport you to the air strip.
The Colonels set a new record for getting into their dress uniforms, grabbed their always ready "go bags" and found a waiting vehicle as they exited their quarters. A high speed trip to the airfield they arrived just as DOD1 was being parked and its ramp extending. The Secretary of Defense walked down the ramp and asked the Colonels to join him in his plane. Informing the pilot we were ready for takeoff "kick it in the ass" and get us to Washington. I'll brief you two as soon as we get to cruising altitude.
Gentleman, I don't know how much of this the President will release to the public but for the moment consider everything I tell you to be under the National Security Act and under court martial for Treason if you disclose anything I tell you. Do you understand what I just told you? YES SIR!
At approximate 2045 hours last night General of the Armies Viktor Jansson and Oliver Winter were assassinated as they inspected an Army Hospital as ordered by the President of the United States. Saying the President is feeling guilty is an understatement. I want you to hear the majority of information from his lips and we will be immediately transported to the White House upon our landing at Andrews Air Force Base.
As I am certain you are aware the Pentagon has staff preparing scenarios for about every emergency the military can face and unfortunately the deaths of our two Generals was one scenario I never hoped we would ever implemented. After months of research our Pentagon staff finalized that in the event of the death of both Generals we would recommend to the President you two are the best officers in the Army to help this country heal.
I know the President has been meeting with leaders on both sides of the aisles of both the Senate and the House all night. I'm not totally aware of the content or outcome of the meetings but I'm certain the President will brief you upon our arrival. I know we have a time constraint because the President is asking for air time from all the broadcast media as soon as he meets with you. As I said, I don't know what was negotiated and decided with the members of Congress but I do know the Assassination of the two top officers of the United States Army by members of our Army will not be tolerated. I expect some drastic events have unfolded overnight.
We had no more than come to a halt, the ramp extended and the three of us were in the SecDef Limo and a fast MP escort to the White House. The President Secretary greeted us and told us he was waiting and to go right in. Asking if we wanted coffee both Colonels said YES, PLEASE STRONG AND BLACK! (They would be wishing shortly for something stronger.)
Entering the Oval Office the President was seated talking with the only one of two five star generals in the United States Army and from his Asian features it could only be General Date Masamune and the man with him had to be David Winter-Jansson (The son of the Generals and his partner.) After standing at attention for the President and General Masamune, when we received the order "AT EASE" we extended our condolences at the loss of two such outstanding officers.
Colonels, we have much to discuss and little time to discuss it. I am addressing the nation in 30 minutes and I need to bring you up to speed. I hope you are ready to meet the White House Press afterwards because you will have a real life experience of a shark feeding frenzy.
I have been meeting with congressional leaders all night and some important decisions have been reached. The United States will not tolerate the assassination of our Generals to promote social changes. Congress is in total agreement and even with the assassins being neutralized we believe they had support from the top down of the base. CID and JAG will make a full investigation and recommendation to me as quickly as possible. Until the facts have been obtained the base is on full lock down.
The Congressional leaders do not feel that Posse Comitatus prevent from the Military defending itself on United States Soil and all nine members of the Supreme Court are in agreement. I am giving you two four directives:
You have the full resources of the United States Government and I guarantee you people will cooperate or explain to me personally WHY!
To give you the ability to go wherever you need to go and the authority to meet the four objectives I have given you Congress has agreed under these unique circumstances to approve my recommendations and approve the two of you as Six Star Generals of the Armies of the United States and as Special Ambassador of the President of the United States waiving any public hearings. I hope you will accept the challenge and bring justice to our fallen brothers-in-arms.
General Masamune and General Stone recused themselves for the obvious conflict of interest and the need to be with their families and help them heal. You will be based out of Fort Connor and General Masamune will remain as the Base Commander. You two will hold the position of Commanding Generals of Alpha Zulu. You will answer only to three individuals...
Unfortunately, I need an immediate answer as I need to shortly address the nation before the news of the deaths leaks from the Texas Army Base. I guarantee you my full support and other than the power to have a "summary execution" I'll support your every decision. If the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense didn't have implicit trust in you they would never have made your recommendations to me.
Unfortunately, gentleman I need an answer NOW! Our Colonels looked at each other and regardless of how inadequate they felt to be appointed to this high office and honor they would never turn their back on a fallen brother. "With God's help we accept!"
General Masamune will administer your Commissioning Oath and then we will adjourn to the White House press room and you'll have your baptism by fire with the White House Press.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs changed their Colonel Eagles for the six stars of a General of the Armies of the United States as each individual took their Oath of Office from General Masamune.
As the President addressed the nation the White House Press seemed to stare at our six stars and I could only imagine the TV commentaries of who we were and why we were wearing six stars. There was an audible GASP when the President announced the assassination of General Jansson and General Winter.
As the President addressed the national the five of us waited to be present to the nation in a live unrehearsed confrontation with the White House Press wanting the story of the year. Fortunately, many of the questions we couldn't answer and deferred to others present. Even only answering a few questions we felt the immense pressure these stars would have upon our lives. The President assured complete transparence and information would be released to the entire nation as it became available. No cover ups and no one would receive preferential consideration.
The President announced at the request of the family a private funeral for the family and close friends in addition to the men of Alpha Zulu would be held at Fort Connor as soon as the bodies were released. A burial at Arlington National Cemetery would follow with full military honors.
(The Press Secretary would later announce [off the record] that any reporter that tried to violate the privacy of the family would lose their press credential for all government agencies access and their media company would lose access for all of their reporters for the term of the existing administration) Fort Connor is a high security TOTALLY OFF LIMITS military base and if anyone attempts to access it they will be shot out of the sky if it is attempted by air and the Navy will destroy any boat attempting access by sea. You have all been warned!
After the press conference had concluded David turned to our new Generals and offered them the comfort of his Penthouse as you will need to be in Washington for the first week to be fitted for your new uniforms and ballistic armor. Also, it will give us the opportunity to share with you the nuisances of Fort Connor and Alpha Zulu. In addition, you need to meet Logan Worthington and the managing officers of Worthington Industries and the Worthington Foundation. They are an integral part of the development and continual updating of Fort Connor. You have a trauma physician without equal on staff with the rank of a four star general and a Chaplain whose loyalty to Alpha Zulu is only surpassed by his loyalty to God. He was given the rank of a four star general by Presidential Executive Order. Every man on base would lay down their life for either of these two men.
The men had to fight their way out of the White House briefing room and even worse with the reporters entrenched in the Marriott Lobby. The manager eventually had to ask the police to contain the reporters so they could continue to provide service to their guests.
Everyone was shocked when they turned on the TV to see CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN broadcasting pictures of the assassination scene. David and Date were livid but also had a major military security concern. Bringing up the SecDef on their Com they all agreed there was a major security leak at the Texas Base. Also, if no one has noticed the two assassins had the tattoo of the Knights of the Golden Circle on their arm. Every person on base needs to have their arms checked starting with the Base General down to the lowest private. Anyone found to have one needs to be considered hostile to the military and our government. I hope and pray this isn't the "Fort Sumter" of a new CIVIL WAR!
We recommend you give base security the order to use lethal force and anyone attempting to leave the base is to be prevented using a no warning shot order with the use of lethal force. CONSIDER IT DONE!
Finally, David turned to our guests and apologized for his lack of manners. Considering all that you have gone through today, when was the last time you ate? David asked the Marriott chef for a brunch buffet combined with a lite dinner menu as soon as possible. (Thanks!) Asking Logan to join us we had much to discuss and bring our new Generals up to speed.
Logan said he had the kids and the in-laws being flown to Washington under heavy guard and an Air Force escort. They should be arriving by this evening. Rod and Napoleon are taking care of the little ones at Fort Connor and so far they aren't aware of what has happened.
The bodies have been flown to Fort Connor for Doc to do the autopsies. POTUS personally asked Doc knowing how hard it would be for him but he also knew no one in the military would question his integrity and medical judgement. Everything will be documented and videotaped so there won't be any questions as still exists with the Kennedy Assassination. POTUS has dictated a full release of all material to the people of the United States. NO COVER UP regardless of how it hurts the military.
After CID approached the Base General and asked him to expose his arms to be examined, he grabbed his service pistol and proceeded to fire upon CID. It was the last act he would commit as a military officer, he was neutralized. All base military personnel were immediately restricted to base and CID immediately demanded a complete body evaluation of every individual to determine if anyone had a tattoo of the "Knights of the Golden Circle". If anyone was found have such a tattoo they would be held in confinement pending charges of sedition, treason and premeditated murder.
When SecDef was notified that 99 out of over 1,000 base personnel (including the Base General) had apparent had or have some relationship with the "Knights" he demanded everyone in the Pentagon also be examined and then he would decide if this order would be given to all branches of the military. The extent of this military corruption needed to be fully determined and contained.
Logan was more clinical as he watched the continual broadcast of the classified photos of the crime scene. "Your fathers died protecting an injured soldier and they died clasping the hand of their partner." They were in love to the end and we all know they are in heaven spoiling Roger. They have left a legacy which we all can only hope to strive to attain. We need to celebrate their life not mourn their death.
Doc completed a very thorough, complete and detailed autopsy on all four individuals. Forwarding his autopsy results to the POTUS, SecDef and Army CID & JAG he informed his second in medical command he would be unfit for duty for at least 24 hours and put himself on "house confinement". He brought up Date on Video Conference and told them of his autopsy findings. Both of your fathers were unconscious from the large amount of pistol rounds striking their body armor at close range. They died from one or more head shots and they were unconscious when this happened. Now, please excuse me, I have an appointment with a new bottle of Single Malt Scotch. None of us knew Doc to ever to consume any large amount of liquor so we all knew how traumatized he was over the death of his good friends.
The Chaplain and his assistant actually voluntarily worked over 72 hours without sleep counseling grieving soldier and put two of the men on suicide watch which members of their squad never failed to volunteer to protect their fellow soldier. Fort Connor was devastated but everyone knew their first priority was still to PROTECT THE IMPS!
Reality was quickly returned when Ops issued an ALERT that Fort Connor was under drone attack. It took a major effort on all 200 combat soldiers to blow the drones out of the sky. Finally, the Worthington Brain Trust had a patch to the software of their Phalanx guns that should be able to lock onto the drones and neutralize them. Unfortunately, a few sea gulls were sacrificed to protect Fort Connor and the men of Alpha Zulu from these drones but the new software provide much protection.
Our friendly tailor arrived at the Penthouse the following morning and acknowledged the need for our new Generals to have their uniforms expediently. He would have them ready for a final fitting tomorrow morning and delivered by close of business tomorrow. Please accept his condolences at the loss of your good friends. "They were my friends also."
Our new generals were amazed the tailor could complete their dress Alpha Zulu uniforms, their ambassador uniforms and two complete suits in less than 24 hours. The quality amazed them and they realized there were no shortcuts taken. The privately admitted the reputation of Alpha Zulu was understated and really unique in the military. (They had yet to see the reality of Fort Connor and the men of Alpha Zulu.)
David and Date had the obligation to select the coffins for their fathers. Considering cost wasn't an issue they selected a very masculine bronze coffin which could have a 3D metal relief of the Army seal and their Six Stars attached. Delivered to Alpha Zulu Doc recommended that no viewing be allowed and the funeral be with a closed casket. Their faces had been destroyed beyond the ability to be reconstructed. Remember our Generals as you knew them. Viewing these bodies will not help you in any way.
The coffins were placed in the Chapel with an honor guard of volunteers 24 hours a day until the funeral. The Chaplains were knowledgeable this had to be a celebration of the lives of two of the finest men in the military. A challenge they wondered if they were up to meeting. The Chaplains assistant worked constantly to provide an ambiance of music to help comfort the men of Alpha Zulu who constantly arrived 24 hours a day to pay their respect. There were always men in prayer in the chapel and he felt committed to provide his "brothers-in-arms" the best atmosphere possible to grieve at the loss of their friends and leaders.
The funeral was quiet and dignified as it should be for two Generals of the Armies of the United States. The family asked for the Worthingtons, POTUS, SecDef, the Joint Chiefs and the Chief Justice to join the men of Alpha Zulu at the service. The Air Force flew high cover and the Navy had a battle group surrounding the base and the Coast Guard again patrolled the show water between the island and the mainland. This would be a private funeral as requested by the family.
The Chaplains rose to the occasion and provided the most memorable service to celebrate the life of these two great men. Date, the most celebrated person alive in the military, praised the life of his "fathers" and in death as in life they lived to serve the soldiers of our great military. Even in death their actions provided life and proper medical care to our sick and injured brothers-in arms. We should all die such an honorable death.
The 1st Sergeant had to hold a lottery to select the Pall Bearers and Honor Guard for the funeral contingent accompanying the family to Arlington National Cemetery for the internment. The reporters respected the wish of the family but no one knew if it truly was out of respect or the fear of retaliation by the President if they failed to abide by his wishes.
Finally the funeral was over and Date and David returned to their Penthouse to help their family heal from the trauma. Our new Generals and the men of Alpha Zulu returned to Fort Connor to prepare to fulfill the directives given to them by the President. Date asked and was given a 30 day leave to help his family through this trying time. He had no intention of retiring and would remain a major leader in making Alpha Zulu a recognized force of the United States Military to the entire world.
Our new Generals were amazed at the detail given to all present by the men of Alpha Zulu at Fort Connor. In addition to the American Flag, the Presidential Flag, The DOD flag, their Five Star flag, a Four Star flag, the Army flag and the Alpha Zulu flag were all flow out of respect for those present at the funeral. They were starting to accept the respect and love the men of Alpha Zulu had for their leaders.
Our Generals quickly realized the need to spend a week with the Worthingtons learning the unique relations and history of Fort Connor being established by Mama Bear and how it had grown into its unique force within the United States Military. When invited to Camp Phoenix both Generals were amazed at the beautiful fortress that had been built and how secure an environment it was for this powerful family which was responsible for much of the technology now utilized by all branches of the United States Military.
Accepting Logan's invitation to spend a few days with him at his Penthouse they learned the trust that existed between the leadership of Fort Connor and the Worthington family. The bonding of these two families through the adoption of their children and the bonding of the generations by growing up in the secure environment of Fort Connor. Yes, even the stupidity of Logan shooting his good friend was shared as was the punishment rendered by his father Luke. They had the opportunity to learn every nuisance in the history of this important component in the military arsenal. Most importantly was the fact it was a secure environment for the children of world leaders when they are threatened.
Learning of the children who had been protected by Fort Connor and now were the leaders of their countries our new Generals were amazed at the obligations they inherited with the Command of Alpha Zulu and Fort Connor. How one minor objective of POTUS to "PROTECT THE IMPS" could have such national security implications and in many cases the future of countries throughout the world. Even our new Generals had no knowledge of the role of Alpha Zulu in preventing World War III when provided with this realization. Yes, the power behind the six stars on their shoulders was starting to scare the hell out of them. The quickly wondered if they were the right men for the job. For the first time in their military careers they felt inadequate to command.
Logan could read their body language and quietly comment you have two strong resources at Fort Connor that exist nowhere else. You have the medical expertise and ultimate confident in an unequaled Doc. Those four stars on his shoulder he hates but will use them to defend his patients even from POTUS or themselves. Something you will have a firsthand experience but I hope not soon. You also have a chaplain without equal whose loyalty to Alpha Zulu is only surpassed by his dedication to God. He is a tough love counselor but will do everything possible for you and the men of Fort Connor. And you also have one loveable War Dog mutt by the name of Napoleon who is invaluable in helping the imps we protect. He can be a loveable dog on "puppy duty" with the imps and one minute later can be a guardian that will tear out the throat of anyone who attempts to do harm.
General Mason Allen made it clear in his final report to the President when he knew his life was nearing its end. The position of General of the Armies is too much for one person, it should never be given to a single individual ever again. You two are partners, don't be afraid to share your love to the men of Alpha Zulu. This is a gay friendly environment and it may shock you at times. SecDef is gay friendly and has proven his dedication to Alpha Zulu countless times. The same goes for POTUS and I hope you will see that evident in his selection of the two of you.
Men will walk around Fort Connor hand in hand and one of the most important fact of Fort Connor is there has never been a report of sexual assault in the history of Alpha Zulu. Consensual sex is allowed as is sex with an imp so long as the imp initiates it. I would recommend the old adage: "If it ain't broken don't fix it" and learning the nuisances of Fort Connor before you implement any drastic change. You will have plenty of opportunities to leave your mark on Alpha Zulu and Fort Connor.
Right now the men of Alpha Zulu are in mourning and totally devastated. They need two leaders to love, to bond and to respect as much as the Generals they lost. You will find they will fight their way through hell for you. If you have a problem which you can't see a resolution I'm as close as your com and always willing to share my experiences both as a former imp, a Worthington and as a friend.
Now my immediate recommendation to the two of you is as soon as my partner Alex arrives, we enjoy a double 20 year old Single Malt Scotch Whiskey and then adjourn to your bedroom and make passionate love to your partner. I know the recent events have kept you so busy it was impossible for you two to have time for a personal life. Alex and I often have the same problem but we definitely make up for it when we finally can get together. So, Alex and I will adjourn to our bedroom after the four of us enjoy the "Nectar of the Gods" and I suggest you two do the same. Brunch has been ordered for 1000 hours tomorrow so you have plenty of time to renew the love you two obvious have.
Alex entered right on cue as Logan was opening the decanter of Scotch. "Make mine a double NEAT" which we all concurred was the only way to enjoy good Scotch. Alex and Logan excused themselves and walked hand in hand to their bedroom. Randy and Adrian looked at each other and agreed they indeed shared the desire to consummate their love this evening. That night our two Generals shared more than sex. Logan announced their Limousine and security detail would be ready for you in 30 minutes so you have time to get dressed. Returning to the Worthington Penthouse the two new Generals continually thanked Luke and Alex for such a beautiful gift and one that would always be cherished. (They had no idea of the custom sidearm and sabers which they would receive in their near future.)
Logan advised he had reserved the Marriott restaurant for dinner with David and his family. Of course, you are invited and we all need to have a comfortable social life as well as our professional business lives. You will find our five star Chef prepares the best prime rib you'll ever eat. And, the raspberry cheesecake is heaven on earth. (Almost as good as the home made vanilla ice cream and hot fudge at Fort Connor.)
At Dinner Logan rose to make the first toast. He was pleased to announce and to be the first to congratulate General Randall Masters and General Adrian Johnson on their pending nuptials and to be bound in love in the eyes of man and God. (As soon as they complete the required premarital counseling from the Chaplain.) Everyone present erupted in praise as our two lovers blushed profusely. Glasses were raise in congratulations to the two newest lovers and committed partners in the family of Alpha Zulu.
Returning to the Penthouse with Logan and Alex they begged to be excused as they walked hand in hand to their bedroom and closed the door. Logan turned to Alex and commented the lovers had the right idea dragging a willing Alex off to their bedroom. The walls may be sound insulated but the tender walking and sitting was obvious of all four men at brunch the next morning. Randy and Adrian were astonished at being transported in their personal "Beast" and even more in their sleek black jet "Alpha Zulu One". Base security met their jet and escorted them to their quarters. The men have requested a formal retreat in your honor. They want to show their commitment to their new leaders. The 1st Sergeant asked to be excused and he would return in time to escort them to our evening retreat. Thanking him for his assistance we excused him and would be seeing him shortly for retreat.
Adrian whispered in Randy's ear there was only one way to celebrate their new residence and it couldn't be done until they returned for the night. If we didn't have retreat and dinner you would be naked and in bed till reveille. Slapping his partner on the ass told him he had first choice to clean up for dinner.
A knock at the door was maintenance requesting permission to enter. They delivered their personal effects from their jet and acknowledged their personal effects from their pervious posting would be delivered in a few days. They would be delivered to our quarters upon receipt. Thanking them they were dismissed and I joined my partner in preparing for retreat and our evening meal. As the 1st Sergeant returned we asked him if we had time to stop by the Chapel and talk with the Chaplain. He was shocked to meet us at his quarters so quickly and we asked if he had a few minutes to discuss an important decision.
Inviting us into his humble quarters we found it in immaculate order. We told him we had been living together for years and were still madly in love. Without hesitation he said an enthusiastic YES, once you two complete the required premarital counseling. We had been forewarned and understood and approved of its necessity. After our formal retreat and enjoying the best food ever served in the Army the 1st Sergeant took to the microphone and brought the men to attention for an important announced by our new Commanding Generals. Asking Ops to broadcast this to the entire base we went "front and center". We thanked the men for their voluntary Formal Retreat in our honor and we hoped we could live up to their expectations. We would like to announce to the men of Fort Connor that your two new Generals are madly in love and the Chaplain has agreed to bind us in eternal love and marry us here at Fort Connor. As the mess hall erupted in a thunderous round of applause and with words of congratulations and support. The 1st Sergeant waited forever to issue the command AS YOU WERE! We continued, and you are all invited to the ceremony. Another round of deafening applause and congratulations continued from the men of Alpha Zulu. The 1st Sergeant continued after it finally died down to announce our Mess Staff AGAIN is working their magic and a cake and ice cream celebration will be at 2000 hours tonight in celebration of the pending nuptials. We are now DISMISSED!
Walking back to our quarters we proudly returned the salute of every man we met. We were slowing starting to feel a part of this family of dedicated men. Logan was correct... not only were we madly in love but our marriage would cement us as the new leaders of Alpha Zulu and Fort Connor.
