When T&T said they had
something important to discuss, it was definitely the understatement of the
year Asking whether we wanted to have the meeting at the Penthouse or at Fort
Connor... they choice was ours. Let's have the initial meeting at Fort Connor so
you can enjoy our delicious food (I'd get no objection to that option from
T&T. If we need further discussion, both Sven and I will be in Washington
all of the following weekend Care to give us some idea of what is to be
discussed
T&T were wheels down at Fort Connor prior to retreat on Friday night (I knew they would arrange their schedule so they got another FREE meal. Deferring any conversation till after breakfast on Saturday, we enjoy a quiet evening as old friends and consumed far too much"Nectar of the God'".
Locking the conference room down to
security mode, T&T calmly said Angus is resigning (How many times have
we heard that before?
Now is the perfect time to reorganize the foundation and make the workload distributed more fairly The Adoption and Orphanage side of the foundation splits from the Roger's House side The perfect solution is to utilize part of our young"Brain Trus" and give them some real life experience.
I want to ask Dale and Dwight to take over the Orphanage and Adoption program and funding And that leaves David and Donald to take over the administration of the Roger's Houses Money isn't an issue in fact the IRS is yelling at us for having two much money invested and not being put into operations and programming
Sven and I were shocked at the revelation just shared by T&T Angus has agreed to stay on and help make it an easy transition, but he won't stay forever We will still retain our position on the Board of Directors with us holding 51% of the voting stock
It is going to be a hard sell to Dale and Dwight but I think they will follow in their Father's footsteps and never turn down an opportunity to help an imp in need (That also means replacing them as the Administrator and troubleshooters for D&D Enterprises.)
As for our young Harvard Grads to be, they definitely won't get a better employment offer even within the Worthington Empire.
If the four people involved are free next weekend, we'll clear our calendar and mooch a room in one of your Penthouses There definitely are enough beds.
That's another problem we need to work out... There aren't enough available beds to have the entire family together for Christmas and that is one event I want to continue forever Think about it and we can discuss it more as the weekend progresses We are planning on staying through lunch on Sunday and then flying back to Washington and facing our bureaucratic responsibilities.
All four of our grown imps were available the next weekend so we prepared to face them and ask them to take on a lifetime challenge Also, a most rewarding opportunity.
They knew something was up after we had the famous Marriott Prime Rib for dinner with all the trimmings and the world famous Raspberry Cheesecake for Desert.
Sending Steven and Shawn to go kill
a few demons with their online computing, David was the first to say
I could see their jaws drop as T&T admitted Angus finally is going to step down and retire He wants time with his partner while he is still young enough to enjoy them being together.
We have decided the Worthington Foundation has grown too large for one person to administer so we are splitting the Orphanage and Adoption administration from the Roger's House administration.
We are asking Dale and Dwight to take over the Orphanage and Adoption administration and David and Donald to take over the Roger's House administration The salary is obscene for young men your age, but you will earn every dollar of it If we thought you would accept the responsibility strictly for the money, we would never offer you the position.
Angus has agreed to stay and make a smooth transition, but he won't stay forever We are always available if you have a problem and in an emergency Angus will still have his wrist com (His price for keeping himself available is four weeks in our Virgin Island Penthouse when he actually retires.)
The four youngest members of our Brain Trust simply held out their brandy snifters and comment to make the refill a double We may need a moonshine nightcap just to sleep tonight You really have dropped a bombshell into our lives.
T&T asked to make one more
comment before we adjourned to our individual bedrooms
All four of our young Brain Trust looked at each other and automatically knew the thoughts of the others It wasn't that long ago they were an imp, orphaned and without any family They could never refuse to help improve the lives of imps and give them a FOREVER HOME!
T&T were just starting to enjoy their first cup of Coffee of the day when without warning OPS announces an ALERT!
They alarm was sounded as the vehicle crashed through the security barrier at the entrance to the Worthington Executive Campus Hostile intruders emerged from the vehicle spewing automatic rifle fire injuring over a dozen of Executive Services personnel The role of Executive Services was to protect the staff and prevent any hostage situation The police agencies and FBI tactical team can deal with the intruders, but it takes time for them to arrive.
It pays to have friends in high places... within minutes Special Forces soldiers started descending from Apache gun ships and every intruder went down shooting Even with an AK-47 trying to take down an Apache Gun Ship with one is pretty stupid and futile Fire a round toward any gunship and I guarantee you their"canno" will be sending multiple rounds to disassemble your body into many pieces (I see we now owe POTUS another bottle of"Worthington Moonshin"!)
T&T announced
The Columbian Ambassador was screaming threats to our Secretary of State and threatening everything short of war with the United States Our Secretary of State assured Columbia that no sanctioned Op was made by any agency of the United States Government.
Your resident Drug Lord had enemies in every country in the world Yes, we won't lose any sleep over his death, but it wasn't done by any agent of the United States Government.
The Op could have been sanctioned by Russia, China, France, England and the list is endless Thanks for thinking of us first but unless you have proof, this meeting has ended.
T&T were happy to receive an ambiguous message only commenting:"The mission goals and objectives have been me" The evening world news as its lead story told of an explosion in the Columbian jungle which destroyed acres of pristine jungle (Not to mention the death of our drug lord) Only the drug dealers wept at their loss of income.
Randy and Robert couldn't shed any tears for a man that had been so cruel to their mother and had caused so much harm to so many individuals and families They would say a prayer for his soul, but they wouldn't lose any sleep over his death.
The holiday season was fast approaching, and T&T had much additional work to assure every imp had a joyous Christmas It truly was a labor of love.
The Generals had one of the most important decisions of the year to make, who to select and ask to be Santa's elf and distribute the"Hugs and Kisse" coin Steven was the smallest framed imp at Fort Connor so General McLain ask him to report to his office Steven was terrified He had never been asked to report to the General's office all by himself Usually, one of the other imps also was summoned and he had support to face whatever the General felt he had done wrong.
Steven breathed a big sigh when General McLain asked Steven to be Santa's Elf for the holiday festivities The current Hugs and Kisses challenge coin will be modified and your elfish face will appear on it It will be plenty of work to make certain every man on base gets one and especially the men in the hospital The extras are given to Doc and the Chaplain to use throughout the year Make sure to save enough to distribute to everyone at Camp Phoenix and we'll send a few to POTUS in a secure mail pouch.
Shawn couldn't believe Steven could keep a secret that long and he was so proud to see his brother wearing the elf costume and sharing hugs and kisses with all of the men Even Shawn got a coin and a big hug and kiss from his brother.
As POTUS,"Georg", Alexander, Tod, PJ and Alexi had a wonderful Christmas at the White House Petrova felt she should be in the kitchen helping prepare the food (Sorry, Mom... today we wait on you so sit back, be comfortable and enjoy!)
PJ was the official Tour Guide and took his guests on a walking tour through all six levels of the White House The only area off limits was the Secret Service office Viewing the 1st sons bedroom PJ turned to Tod, smiled and commented he hoped this simple abode would be sufficient for him Alexander and Petrova had the privilege of sleeping in the Lincoln Bedroom Alexi and his protector simply took the bedroom far away from everyone else That left seven bedrooms for our last two protectors to choose for themselves We never did find out if they used one or two rooms or moved in with their imp.
Alexi quietly whispered to Tod and PJ that after the night they had not to be surprised if one or both of them were pregnant There was little doubt they would be selecting a child to adopt as soon as the administrative transitions were completed Tod and PJ were excited of the thought of having a child POTUS had to smile... he hadn't expected a grandkid so soon.
The holidays at Camp Phoenix was always a special event The imps were spoiled at this special season... simple gifts, but gifts given from the heart We were a family and growing larger every year We were happy to have the problem of running out of bedrooms, something the designers of Camp Phoenix never dreamed possible Many of the imps and their protectors had no problem sharing a bed but we ruined their night when we put a cot in the room and a young imp in a sleeping bag (If looks could kill we would be dead from adding an imp to any bedroom. Just the cool mountain air had every person's hormones maxed out.
Randy and Robert had to return to the Castle for their last term at Harvard Easy classes but needed for graduation Returning to the Castle on Friday afternoon they were ambushed and their security team gravely wounded We weren't out of the woods yet with our old foe the Biker Gang It was no longer a contract with a Columbian Drug Lord, they wanted"bloo" for all of their"brother" we had killed when they attacked us.
Randy and Robert were unharmed and their protectors only received minor wounds Their security detail would be spending some time in the arms of our medical"dictato" and they would obey or face his wrath We all knew the men would receive the best of medical care but at times we all wished Doc would have a little bit of compassion on the amount of pain he asked his patients to endure.
As soon as Randy and Robert completed graduation they learned the hard facts of the business world as they immediately went into"Executive Mod" in the Worthington Executive Office Angus was serious this time about retirement and Dale and Dwight were assigned a fast learning curve also with the Worthington Foundation.
As our new duo started reviewing the programs and funding to all of the Orphanages under the Worthington Foundation umbrella, one Orphanage stood out boldly and why someone hadn't reviewed it sooner was a miscarriage of fiduciary responsibility The cost to adoption was less than half of any other Orphanage and that set off Alarm Bells.
Entering the orphanage unannounced, with a group of accompanying auditors, the director started turning green After only one day of review, the accountants stated there were errors from the top down in this home and few dollars were actually being spent on the imps
As Dale and Dwight confronted the Orphanage Director he reached into his desk, grabbed a handgun putting it to his head and pulling the trigger Whatever was happening here was a major problem well beyond the scope the auditors had just discovered.
Advising OPS of the shooting and requesting additional security, local and state police arrived within minutes We asked for members of the Foundation counseling staff to be added to meet with the remaining imps to see if they can obtain any additional information as to what was happening that would cause the director to commit suicide.
After only two days of counseling with the remaining imps the preliminary report was a major bombshell We had another"rent an imp for se" scenario similar to the one that cost Roger his life We requested additional security from the State Police and the FBI as this definitely was crossing state lines.
Between the paper trail and the nightmarish information shared by the remaining imps we had the federal prosecutor indicting local, state and federal politicians as well as members of the police force and judiciary No one was going to"camp fe", they would all be prosecuted to the fullest means possible with long prison terms in a high security setting
As we gleaned information from imps and the residual paper trail, federal marshals and FBI raided homes and rescued imps in a dozen states coordinating their efforts so no imps was put in risk of being harmed by the"per" finding out about the raids.
Many a high profile individuals did the"perp wal" in cuffs with the media advised well in advance so they could cover the event We at the Worthington Foundation had no interest in who got the credit, our interest was and is protecting the imps and getting them into loving FOREVER HOMES!
The convicted individuals not only received long sentences in a high security prison they also received chastisement from the"Benc" with the judge commented he regretted this was all the law would allow him with the current sentencing guidelines He assured the individuals they would eventually answer to a higher power and may God have mercy on your soul.
A few weeks later as we were enjoying a casual brunch in the Penthouse, David and Dwight joined us as T&T comment "You two really know how to stir up a hornet's nes" and the Worthington name couldn't be prouder of you and what you did to save imps!
Grab a plate and join us for a great brunch although Scotch and/or Brandy isn't available till after sundown I hope you two executives will survive on water and juice The eggs benedict are especially good this morning Bon Appetite!
David and Donald had a much easier transition with the"Roger's Hous" program... the only problem being too many imps requesting help and limited facilities and money Time to tap the reserves and enlarge the program Major fund raising events in every city and a national telethon with an array of stars that raised over $100,000,000.00 USD for enlarging the program The list of corporate giving seemed unending as this was a program that touched the hearts of most Americans and companies wanted their name associated with the"Roger's Hous" program.
Roger looked down from heaven and shed tears knowing his death was helping so many imps Being a Guardian Angel was the best duty assignment he could have in life Roger never complained about being over worked and relished every minute he could help someone improve their life Even helping individuals and imps to accept the fate of entering into their eternal life was rewarding to Roger as so many feared the unknown Roger assured them eternity was beautiful and you have earned the right to enjoy it.
With an imps, Roger would hold them in his strong arms. Wrap his large beautiful wings around their body and assure the child no harm would ever come to them ever again Roger carefully provided evidence of crimes against children which miraculously appeared on prosecutors desks
Even as big and beautiful as he was Mama Bear would hold and kiss Roger and tell him how cherished he was and how proud she was to have him as a member of her family Roger kissed her forehead as he wrapped his wings around her and pledged himself to be the best son possible.
Finally, summer arrived and T&T shared the revelation that Camp Phoenix was being enlarged We needed more space so we can host our extended family So asking politely if our Virgin Island penthouse could be utilized so imps could be rotated for some true vacation time T&T were assured they never had to ask We also demanded T&T take a two week vacation to the Penthouse and enjoy the sun, surf and sand If we need to motivate you it will be 1st Sergeant Monster who shows you the error of your ways.
T&T were dedicated work-a-holics dedicated to keep the spirit of Mama Bear alive and functional Her two goals of a strong military and protecting imps were their top priority
A sad POTUS ask for a video conference as he shared the passing of Ari the previous night He died peacefully in his sleep with his family attending "A noble end for a great warrior! Your behemoth is being fueled at Andrews so grab your gaudy Ambassador uniforms you love so much, select your security detail and hit the road T&T asked to hitch a ride with you As you know they have a long family history of supporting Israel PROTECT THEM, even from themselves THAT IS A PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTIVE!
T&T were smiling far too much as we entered our flying billboard After we reached cruising altitude they both asked us to join them and the men accompanying us Apologizing for their poor cash flow when we accepted our stars they both hoped the quality of their gift made up for their tardy behavior.
Handing us two Rosewood cases which could only be our sabers they truly sparkled like the sun and were the perfect accessory to our image as ambassadors The custom pistols they gave us would only be used for ceremonial purposes but definitely were ready for a combat role.
Uri met us as we landed and insisted we stay with the family at their secure compound T&T would need to share a bedroom which they hadn't done in years (The sacrifices we make for friends. The service for Ari was short and with full military honors Ari was buried in their national military cemetery and we all felt the loss of this brave man.
As for the successor we picked to replace Ari as the head of Mossad, he wasn't working out as expected and we needed to consider replacing him We offered to talk with him and help him fit into the role as Director of Mossad Yes, he truly had big shoes to fill And, having Ari's son David as the head of the Israel Defense Force only added to the pressure.
Meeting with him after the funeral we were invited to join him at his sea side villa on the Mediterranean sea It was a beautiful view from his patio and we relaxed as we chatted about how he was settling into his new role He was candid it was more difficult than he expected and we reinforced to him to bring on officers to help that you can trust with your life That Bullseye on your back only gets bigger if you can't show to your adversary you are up to the job.
We can spend time in Israel to help you with the selection if you want help But, trying to do the job alone is next to impossible Yes, you will lose good soldiers That is the price for being a commanding officer and each one will tear at your heart I can remember the name of every soldier I've lost under my command and my heart is torn for every one of them We honor them by doing our best and preventing their sacrifice from being a needless death.
As we chatted with the new head of Mossad, T&T asked to see the statue erected to Mama Bear in front of the Parliament building Seeing the statue brought tears to their eyes which suddenly turned to fear as a shot rang out The shooter missed T&T and hit one of their security detail He/It faded into the crowd and it was next to impossible to pursue It took a good bottle of Scotch to calm them after the attack on their lives They took pride"flying under the rada" and now they joined the rest of us with the big bullseye on our backs.
Talking with Uri and David that evening we shared our hope the man we selected to replace Ari would have a faster learning curve "I expect he'll be pilfering a number of competent officers from your headquarter company so don't complain He needs the help"
We were pensive as a cat on a hot metal roof until we got into international air space Our pilots showed us how fast we can obtain cruising altitude with almost a vertical take off (Will someone please go back and get my stomach. As we all turned green until we leveled off and reached cruising altitude our Pilot apologized but wanted to be proactive considering there were too many missile attacks on airplanes of late and ours is a pretty big target.
Dale and Dwight finally accept the fate they needed to move out of the Penthouse and back into the family townhouse Dale inherited when Duke died They gave a fantastic"Open Hous" for the supporters of Worthington Charities and its Roger's House program For one of the few times we were happy to address up in our mega gaudy uniforms and sabers which out shined any diamonds worn by anyone attending We were THE people to meet that evening Dale and Dwight's Open House was a total success and their silent auction raised over $100,000.00 USD for the Worthington Charity
Finally, an exhausted pair of lovers said"Good Nigh" to their guests and locked up their home for the evening Apparently, one guest preferred to stay for the night as our two now grown imps had an intruder with a gun prowling their house.
As their home security detected the intruder the silent alarm woke our pair of lovers Taking their handgun from the wall safe they exited their bedroom to a shot striking Dale as Dwight emptied his clip into the gunman's face Dale's wound was painful but not lethal He would now join the long list of patients who found out how demanding Doc was with physical rehab (Welcome to our world.)
It was no surprise any one of the Worthington Foundation officers would be targeted considering the large number of individuals indicted and prosecuted or waiting prosecution for crimes against children The attempt on their lives only made Dale and Dwight more entrenched in seeing all the people indicted were prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
It was not a surprise the intruder was a"cleaned u" version but still a member of our infamous biker gang If they had brains, they would quit while they were ahead.
T&T increased security for the Foundation Officers and the spouses and partners were not"happy camper"... it really intruded into their normal lives (It is better to have a friendly security than an intruder wanting to shoot you dead!)
The Biker Gang had become more mercenary considering their funding from Columbia died with the death of the last Drug Lord Their goal now was to kidnap someone who they could demand mega bucks from their family or company in return for the individuals safe return This was the first but definitely not the last attempt on the lives of our now famous duo.
The $100,000,000.00 USD in contributions from the last telethon made the biker gang realize how much money could be had from anyone affiliated with the Worthington name This decision was a mistake that would cost many of the biker gang their lives.
A shoulder holster and ankle holster were the required minimums for any Foundation Officer Most had"Bullpup" handy in their vehicles and were fully trained in how to use them If you entered their home to do harm you would be leaving in a body bag.
At least the children of the protected individuals could lead as normal a life as possible at Fort Connor They felt secure and loved Even the men of Alpha Zulu accepted the occasional prank as normal and far less than the pranks they had played in their youth If and when an imp got too carried away with a prank he usually found himself hanging naked from the flag pole at morning flag raising Most parents saw the humor of the retribution of the men at the pranks played by their imp Those parents with military affiliations usually doubled up laughing at their son as he turned multiple shades of red It definitely was a positive learning experience.
Mama Bear had multiple reasons for developing the Alpha Zulu program at Fort Connor besides providing a loving and protected environment for Luke and John to grow into adulthood It was an investment in the future brain trust which would keep Worthington Industries on the cutting edge of developing products for our military to keep our country strong and protect our men in uniform Mama Bear had lost Luke and John's father due to inadequate material support and left her with a commitment that was engrained in her soul and that of her family to keep our military on the cutting edge of developed new products Even the General's"flying billboar" which took ten years and hundreds of millions of dollars to develop had a huge payback to Worthington Industries Many of the technical advances required to make this huge monster fly, especially with vertical take off and landing, could be used to enhance existing military products or be the basis of new items offered to a hungry military that had been denied new products for over a decade.
T&T accepted the life they lead and the role they played with the military had inherent risks and appreciated the men of their security detail The men were well compensated for the risks they took and knew their families would be well taken care of if they paid the ultimate price They were also well aware of all Worthington Industries does to protect their brothers-in-arms of the military and knew protecting the Worthington Brain Trust was an investment in peace throughout the world
Executive Security for Worthington Industries had the latest and greatest of any protection detail in the world from their lightweight body armor to high tech surveillance to maximum fire power in a fire fight with hostiles These men were dedicated to their work and not to their paycheck Our human relations team had over a 1,000 applicants for every position they filled and now a data base of over 25,000 men interested in specific programs within Alpha Zulu and Executive Services The HR teams job would be almost impossible if it wasn't for the computer program developed by Hito and continually upgraded by his son Yutto Yes, the two men may be small in stature but even as adults few would venture onto a practice mat with them.
1st Sergeant"Monste" was maturing into adulthood and becoming an invaluable asset of Alpha Zulu The Generals knew that a kind word of support to men for their good work was received better than an increase in rank They made a point of stopping by unannounced to the officer in charge of the War Dog program and personally thank him for their latest addition (They would never have another problem if and when they needed a new or additional War Dog.)
POTUS decided it was time for our Generals to earn their keep and put them back on the tour of college and universities promoting our military To say their flying monstrosity was like a magnet attracting members of the media would be an understatement and our Generals felt secure with the large contingent of Alpha Zulu soldiers that could now accompany them and provide for their security.
There was always one or more student that voiced opposition to our military and the Generals reminded them their right to dissent was because we had a strong military to protect their Constitutional Rights "NO, our military isn't perfect, our Executive Branch isn't perfect and neither is our judiciary... but our government is far better and allows for far more freedom for its citizen than any other country in the world So, when you are done complaining about our form of government get down on your knees and thank our founding fathers for giving you the right to dissent. These comments were usually received with a deafening round of applause and cheers from the students assembled Military recruiters were elated to have the Generals talk to students in their area as military enrollment usually skyrocketed after they visited Many high schools allowed Junior and Senior grade students the time off of classes to attend and schools of higher education fought to have the Generals speak on their campus It was something they proudly displayed on their websites with video clips of the General's comments A WIN/WIN for everyone!
The Generals always enjoyed a visit to our Military Academies even if they had a sore arm from all the salutes they returned These men were the future of our military and needed to know how appreciated they were to their commitment to the future of our country It was fun to shock the hell out of an underclassman to select one at random and ask them to be the tour guide for their campus The school Superintendent understood the rationale of the Generals (At least no student at a military academy had attempted to assassinate the Generals in recent years.)
Complacency was always one of the risks when the threat level was low for so long It was the role of the squad sergeants and the 1st Sergeant to keep the men in top form and ready to meet any challenge (Another reason why Fort Connor had the cleanest Garbage Pails of any military base in the country. If all else failed, usually a training detail with 1st Sergeant"Monste" motivated the soldier to either PERFORM or RETIRE!
The men of OPS were the unsung heroes of Alpha Zulu and Executive Services Locked away in an undisclosed secure underground bunker protected by the Elite of Special Forces... their skills were the"front lin" protection for the protection of imps and men at Fort Connor and Worthington Industries POTUS, T&T and the Generals made a point of making regular visits and commending the men for the invaluable work they do contributing to the safety of our Alpha Zulu soldiers and the protection and security of our imps at Fort Connor "You are the unsung heroes of Alpha Zulu! (Their words never fell on more receptive ears.)
1ST Sergeant Monster was the silent hero of Alpha Zulu and his role when he was put on"puppy dut" with a home sick imp was like Multiple Personality Disorder in a human It was next to impossible to believe this kind and playful"pu" could turn into a MONSTER and tear the throat out of a hostile not to mention removing other sensitive body parts of an aggressor.
Doc didn't look forward to doing the autopsy on hostiles that had the occasion to be on the receiving end of 1st Sergeant Monster Usually, the body bag contained too many"Piece" and the report of the incident contained verification from multiple soldiers of the aggressive nature of the individual which resulted in such warranted action by the 1st Sergeant Yes, Monster received many awards for his contributions to Alpha Zulu but he was happiest when he could mooch a treat from a young innocent imp who would try to"brib" Monster for affection The imps could always tell who had been playing with monster because after a"lick dow" by Monster the imp smelled like DOG!
Steven and Shawn were fast becoming the"Senior Imp" at Fort Connor and they hated the thought of leaving for College even if they could live at the Castle and attend Harvard They felt safe, secure and loved A perfect environment for a future member of the Worthington Brain Trust to be nurtured into adulthood Even being strung up naked from the flagpole was a positive learning experience for any imps as he knew he was truly loved by the men of Alpha Zulu They all knew the men had the ability to do far worse retribution for the pranks they played.
The last summer prior to Shawn and Steven leaving for Harvard and the Castle, Dale and Dwight took their sons (and protectors) on a vacation trip to Hawaii To say their security team was fighting to see who would accompany them would be an understatement Vacation trip to Hawaii had an inherit risk and a bad history of attacks on protected individuals Dale and Dwight wanted this to go flawlessly

a rotating security assignment Dale and Dwight accepted their fate as being
