As those of us present at Camp Phoenix proceeded to read Doc and the Chaplain in on the miracle... Doc had to admit the scars on Roger's body matched the wounds documented in the autopsy of "Roger" these many years ago. The Chaplain said it best... Fort Connor is a miracle in its own right and definitely for all the good it has done for the hundreds of imps who have lived here. And, then we have to consider the impact it has made on people and countries around the world not to mention preventing World War III. Another miracle isn't the exception it is the expected norm. The Chaplain reverently asked T&T if they would allow him to baptize Roger. T&T approved stating Mama Bear definitely would have and he will be raised in the Christian Faith.

Asking T&T as to their plans for Roger... specifically, are you planning on Roger living here at Fort Connor. T&T were somewhat selfish and admitted they wanted to keep Roger with them in the Penthouse at least until the adoption was finalized. They planned to set him up with the same electronic school used by the imps at Fort Connor so the transition could be seamless.

T&T planned on hiring a private tutor to spend the day with Roger and they knew Dale and Dwight would be elated to have Roger as a guest those times when they were forced to be away for the night. (Not to mention POTUS and Harold would be demanding parity!)

T&T informed us Generals they wanted the selection process for a "Protector" for Roger started as soon as our HR "Dream Team" can make it happen. Preferably, a young college grad who shoots expert and loves a family. Get five prospective candidates and we can do the "shock and awe" at the Worthington Executive Offices to make the final determination. And, we all know... POTUS will have the final approval of whoever we select.

0800 hours the next morning we brought up our HR Dream Team on a video conference and when they saw our smiling faces they immediately offered their resignation. (You two don't get off that easy!) We need two protectors, gay and single, college grads, expert with a gun and rifle and the branch of service is open for discussion. Asking how much time it would take to make a preliminary determination searching our now huge Alpha Zulu data base of soldiers interesting in a posting to Fort Connor AND the DOD data base at the Pentagon... we could see the look of shock on their faces at the amount of work we were asking of them.

I smiled at them and calmly told them: "Pull this rabbit out of your hat and you have two weeks in the Virgin Island Penthouse on T&T". We were advised at least 60 days to review both data bases at which we commented: "You have 30" DISCONNECT!

A few days later OPS advised I had a video conference call from Hikaru in Japan. Now that is a surprise, send him through and ask Generals Masters and Washington to join me in my office. Hikaru was all smiles when he came on the screen only to comment he had heard through the "imp mafia" grapevine we had a special imp at Fort Connor. (Imp Mafia... another damn grapevine to worry about!) It is a "no brainer" that you are looking for a protector for him and I have the perfect special forces soldier for you to consider. As we three Generals looked at each other we knew we had to at least consider the individual. Advising Hikaru to send us his file and we would interview him based upon your recommendation. Many Thanks!

I turned to my two "partners in crime" and commented... you know this means we have to make the same offer to David in Israel. Asking OPS to see if David Leib was available for a video conference, we were shocked to see his smiling face on our monitor so quickly. With his hectic schedule I figured it would take hours to days for our schedules to match.

"Hello my good friends, how can I assist you?" Explaining the necessity for a protector for our newest imp considering T&T was in the process of adopting him... we felt obligated to ask Israel if they had a Special Forces soldier who was qualified and interested. Considering the long relationship between Israel and the Worthingtons we didn't want to offend anyone. We have a 30 day window to make the selection so if and when you have someone who is interested just send us his military record. David only smiled and commented: "Simple tasks like this we do right away, when you ask the impossible it takes a little longer." "Israel owes Mama Bear a debt it can never repay."

Turning to General Masters and Washington I asked if they had time for another conference call. Asking OPS to see if POTUS was available this was my lucky day to see his face also appear on my video screen so quickly. Advising POTUS we tasked our HR Dream Team to research the Alpha Zulu data base and the Pentagon data base to find us five prospective candidates for Roger's Protector. Did you know we have an "imp mafia grapevine"... POTUS only smiled and commented: "An imp never tells". Anyway, we just received a call from Hikaru commenting he had heard of our looking for a protector and he had the perfect candidate. Considering the Japanese protectors we had in the past I have to give consideration to any soldier Hikaru would endorse. Not wanting to offend Israel, I just finished talking with David Leib and asked him to send me the military record of any I.D.F. Special Forces soldier that he would recommend for this high risk posting. Considering the high risk of being a Worthington and the son of T&T what do you and Harold think about adding TWO protectors for this special imp.

"Harold and I are actually having lunch together, I'll discuss it with him and give you an answer yet today. As for my thoughts on the subject... tell T&T to put that over-priced armored Range Rover in the garage and use one of the new prototype TANKS they have in development. With all due respect Mr. President, that is as absurd as T&T buying that armored Range Rover. Enjoy your lunch with Harold and we'll talk later today.

We Generals were just shaking our heads at the events of this morning... and being formally apprised of the existence of an "Imp Mafia" existing. So much for the security of Fort Connor. We might as well post what we do each day on the Internet.

Further discussing a potential Protector from the Japanese Special Forces... we all were aware of the reputation Hito and Hikaru had at Fort Connor and no soldier would ever get into the "ring" with them a second time. The only time they could get a martial arts partner is when one of a new soldier's buddies "set him up".

As for Israel, they owe Mama Bear their existence and the lives of their citizens and their soldiers. I have a pretty high expectation of the caliber of soldier David will ask us to consider.

One last video conference this morning and then you two Generals do whatever Generals do around here. As for me, I think I'm on video conference all day! Asking OPS to see if T&T were available for a video conference we hit a "home run" again when their smiling faces appeared on our screen. "How are you two adjusting to fatherhood?" T&T only commented we love the little imp but he needs much practice on his trajectory and landing when he jumps into bed. It is to the point Room Service asks if we want ice packs with breakfast in the mornings. That had all three of us Generals roaring in laughter. Roger is down in our media center practicing his computer skills and he couldn't have a better teacher than Yuuto. I see another "nerd" being added to the Worthington "Brain Trust".

Bringing T&T up-to-date on what we Generals have been doing all morning, I guess we should have asked your opinion before we got carried away. Apparently, we have an "Imp-Mafia grapevine" that extends all the way to Tokyo and Hikaru has a Special Forces soldier that he feels is a perfect match. After finishing with Hikaru we felt we had to ask Israel if they had any potential candidate after all Mama Bear as done for them. David said he would make it a high priority. And, considering we started the day telling our HR Dream team to select five candidates for us to interview, we now have the potential of having seven qualified individuals for ONE protector opening. If you two cheapskates can splurge on a $100,000.00 USD armored Range Rover for the imp what do you think about assigning Roger TWO protectors if we have two men we feel are a good match.

FYI... POTUS commented to put the Range Rover in the garage and use one of the new protype tanks Worthington is developing. So, YES, we are all ganging up on you two. Roger is a precious imp to us all.

T&T advised they had been having intense discussions about how to suggest to Roger to live at Fort Connor. We can slack off on our jobs for six months but much more than that our Board will want our heads on a platter. We'll plan on spending as many weekends at Fort Connor with Roger and you know how much the men love him. But, I think I'm requesting Lupo also be dedicated to Roger's security detail. POTUS owes me a few favors and it is time to collect on one.

Actually, not only having Lupo as part of Roger's security detail helps to protect Roger it will also give Lupo a chance for us to see how he interacts in a public setting providing protection. If Lupo performs as well as we think he will I can see getting another "Wolf" from the first graduating class of our new breeding program.

We both know POTUS will have to sign off on this and he and Harold are lunching today. I expect an answer from him this afternoon but don't be surprised if he calls and asks how you feel about it. I'm afraid if I was Roger's father, I'd lock him away in the imps bunker for protection and probably ruin his life and put him into therapy for years. Roger has given so much to so many and has never asked for anything in return. He deserves and we are obligated to provide him with the best life and future possible.

WE WERE ALL IN AGREEMENT!

POTUS and Harold video conferenced immediately after they finished lunch and both men were in agreement if we could find two qualified soldiers, "Take 'm both"!

Roger will be a high risk imp simply from being a Worthington and if the religious community ever finds out the history behind Roger we can expect every religious extremist to have him in their "cross-hairs". Glad you Generals are being proactive and not reactive. Keep up the good work. DISCONNECT!

About 1500 hours I was ready to call it a day and I asked my partner if he could close up his desk and meet me in our bedroom. (He actually beat me to bed. Talk about a horny General!) Great idea, we need to do this more often. Once Roger is living at Fort Connor full time I doubt if we'll have much time to ourselves. Guess that depends upon the man or men we choose and how they interact with Roger.

"Enough shop talk, make love to your horny partner. "WITH EXTREME PLEASURE!!!" Damn, did I get rode hard and there was no doubt in any mind why I was limping to retreat today. Even the snickering coming from the imps failed to impress me, I was one sexually sated General and I had no wish to visit Doc and get a 14 days respite in sexual purgatory. My lover was just going to be required to take it easy on me with that slab of meat he has between his legs. I wonder if POTUS had this in mind when he selected the two of us and advanced us over so many other NCO's and Officers. I guess I should send him a bottle of 100 year old brandy with a "Thank You" note. I doubt if he'd even ask why?

At our morning Staff meeting Doc was livid that our Commanding Generals needed to control our carnal urges. He had patients until 0300 hours because of our afternoon antics. You are setting the wrong example for the men and the Chaplain only smiled commented what a great morale booster our two Generals are.

T&T came home to the Penthouse early as they wanted to have a long "heart-to-heart" with Roger and really didn't know how to broach the subject. When they told Roger they wanted to have the Chaplain at Fort Connor baptize him he rushed into their arms, wrapped his arms around their neck, hugging and kissing the two best dads any imp could have.

After a wonderful dinner and getting Roger ready for bed, tucking him in and kissing him goodnight... T&T asked OPS if the Chaplain at Fort Connor was available to chat with them. Almost immediately his smiling face appeared on their video screen: "How may I be of service?" Advising the Chaplain we would be at Fort Connor this weekend with Roger and would it be possible to have him baptized. The Chaplain smiled commented it would be his extreme pleasure but are you certain you don't want our Cardinal Chaplain to perform the sacrament. No, you were our first choice and our Cardinal Chaplain was our second choice if you weren't available. We'll be wheels down at Fort Connor in time for retreat (and of course another free meal).

This would be the first time the men of Fort Connor would see Roger "cleaned up" in a suit, tie and dress loafers. He was one little imp and we loved him even more if that was possible. POTUS and Harold were asked to be his God Parents and they arrived right on que an hour before the service. We all knew if anything happened to T&T, Roger would have an abundance of people who would always be ready to help him in every way possible.

Roger was chomping at the bit to get out of his "monkey suit" and into the super comfortable black BDU's he had been given by the men of Alpha Zulu. He was on "Puppy Detail" for the afternoon and we all knew one little exhausted imp would sleep well tonight as well as two exhausted War Dogs.

We Generals were very impressed with the military record forwarded to us by Hikaru. A young Special Forces Captain, a black belt in three disciplines of martial arts, expert with both hand gun and rifle, a double Ph.D. and an orphan who had planned to make the military his life career. As he wondered what he had done to warrant a command appearance before the head of the Japanese Defense Force and was in panic when he saw a member of the imperial family also in the meeting. Hikaru asked the Captain to be seated, this is going to be a long and involved discussion.

Both men advised the Captain if at any time he wanted to terminate this interview or if he felt it wasn't of interest to him simply let them know and transportation would be provided back to his unit. As the Captain listened intently to the information provided him, he was flattered to even be considered and in shock to know he was the ONLY ONE being made this offer.

Advising the Captain he would be in the final selection consisting of up to five U.S. soldiers and possible one soldier from the Israeli Defense Force. You will be interviewing with the top four Generals of the United States Army and the individual or individuals they select will have a one on one with the President of the United States. That gives you some idea of the importance being placed upon the individual(s) selected.

David was to face a similar situation in Israel with a Rav Samal (equivalent to our Master Sergeant) his rank was of no concern. We would be looking at the individual and his abilities. As David exited his office, he asked the Sergeant to join him. As his limo waited for David at the entrance to his military headquarters, the Sergeant sat pensively wondering where they were going. He was in shock when they arrived at the Parliament building and were escorted into the office of the President of Israel. Entering the public entrance David wanted the Sergeant to see and know the importance Mama Bear and the Worthingtons were to the nation of Israel. If it wasn't for the efforts of Mama Bear, Israel would have lost the last "conflict" and the majority of our citizens and our military would have been killed. Israel would cease to exist. We have Mama Bear to thank for the "Angel with the Flaming Sword" which saved Israel and all of our people.

Walking into the Office of the President his secretary said to go right in he is expecting you. As the Sergeant snapped to attention David proceeded to wrap his arms around his little brother and give him a hug rather than a salute. Introducing the President of Israel as his younger brother the Sergeant was asked to be comfortable, lunch would be served shortly.

David and Uri explained the great task the man they selected would be forced to accept. You Rav Samal are the only man we feel can rise to the task we are asking you to accept. After a three hour briefing from David and Uri the Sergeant commented there was no way he could refuse the offer placed before him. It appears from what we have shared today, I owe the existence of my country, the lives of my family and fellow soldiers to one very special woman.

Advising the Sergeant he had 10 days immediate leave to be with his family and tell them he would be on a classified mission of some duration. He'd be in contact with them but it was doubtful if he would be able to visit.

The fact of being interviewed by the top four Generals of the United States Army and the heads of the Worthington Empire never fazed him. When he heard if he was one of the final two men selected, he would have a one on one with the President of the United State his confident demeanor started to crack. That was only a one in seven chance and he imagined the individuals selected for the interview would be the best of the best. He felt truly honored to be considered.

After three weeks our HR Dream Team admitted they could only find four suitable candidates for our current opening for a protector. Advising them to forward their military file for us to peruse, I forwarded their selection onto the Generals and POTUS for a preliminary overview. The consensus was our United States military candidates had some pretty impressive competition from both the Japanese candidate and the Israeli candidate.

As our six candidates were enjoying breakfast in the Marriott Dining Room, housekeeping cleaning their room reported to T&T there was little doubt as to the sexual orientation of all six men. There are obvious indicators of intense stress management in all three of the bedrooms used. (Housekeeping got a big tip in their check that week.)

Our six candidates were more stressed waiting for their interview than they were the night they gave up their virginity. Why were they stressed. The competition was stiff and to be selected was truly an honor. There was no shame in not being selected. Just making it to the final selection process says much for the ability of each of the six soldiers.

Our United States soldiers all went into "melt down" when they walked in for their interview. Seeing two six star Generals, two five star Generals and the top two members of the Worthington Empire they were all a basket case initially. We put them at ease giving them an overview of the protector role we wanted to fill and if at any time if wasn't of interest to them to let us know and we would arrange immediate transportation back to their unit.

The four men our HR Dream Team selected were all college grads, Captains with outstanding service records and high marks in leadership. Everyone had received a silver star and purple heart. They definitely wouldn't shy from a fight. After individual interviews of our four US soldiers we had them transported back to the Marriott and told them to enjoy the accommodations and feel free to order from Room Service or enjoy the Dining Room. Don't miss the chance to enjoy the best Raspberry Cheesecake you'll ever taste.

That left our Israel and Japan candidates. Both men were prepared to face us Generals and T&T. There was no shock as there was with our U.S. soldiers. They were highly confident considering the selection process they went through to make it to the final interview with us.

We all gave the last two candidates our personal overview of the role of Protector for such a special Imp as Roger. (I doubt if they were ready to handle the fact he was a former Angel! Enough time for that if they are selected.) Roger was not only special to every man of Alpha Zulu but even us Generals would lay down our lives for the little imp. You'll find this degree of commitment runs all the way to POTUS. If any of our questions upset you or offend you... you are free to remove yourself from consideration. No written record is being kept of this meeting and the leaders in your country will simply be informed you were not one of the candidates selected. As you are aware, the final candidate(s) we select will meet one on one with POTUS.

Your country will be asked to assign you as a liaison to Alpha Zulu and hopefully it is a posting you'll want to keep for many years into your future.

We have a few months before Roger is scheduled to relocate at Fort Connor so it will give you the opportunity to assimilate into our "family" and not having to learn on the "fly". We will warn you we have the best Doc in the United States Army, but he gives the most painful shots you'll ever receive. I wouldn't trade him for any other doctor if I was injured. He has saved more than one life of the men who are gathered around this table.

By the end of the six interviews we all could agree that the men were so equal in ability every one of them was well qualified to be Roger's protector but we all agreed our Japanese candidate with his knowledge of Martial Arts and small arms definitely had to be given some special consideration.

We Generals talked freely with T&T commenting how they felt about Roger meeting the candidates individuals and seeing how they interact. We decided to have two candidates live with Roger for two days and after all six candidates were processed we would sit down and discuss with T&T the interactions which they saw and then talk with Roger and see what he thought of the men who visited with him in the Penthouse.

Roger was so happy to have a friend in the Penthouse after T&T left for their office each day. A tutor is fine but he isn't there to be a friend. Roger felt special and our little imp was far two intuitive for his own good.

The next weekend T&T had a long heart-to-heart chat with Roger and asked how he got along with the guests we had in the Penthouse this past week. Roger only commented: "You mean the candidates to be my Protector"? BUSTED!

Roger commented the little Japanese guy was really great and a lot of fun to be around. He'd be my first choice if I was making the decision. The Israeli soldier was impressive but so were the four American Soldiers.

When we video conferenced with T&T the initial selection to be presented to POTUS was our candidate from Japan and our youngest Army candidate. POTUS was most impressed with the individual Hikaru recommended and gave us his blessing. For some reason only known to POTUS he "black balled" the Army soldier we selected and asked us to select another.

T&T sent the Army soldier back to his unit and we then scheduled our candidate from Israel to have lunch with POTUS. POTUS was impressed and "approved" our selection. We now had two protectors for Roger and four months to get them ready for the most important assignment of their lives.

The two candidates "blessed" by POTUS moved into T&T's Penthouse so they could get to know Roger better and to make it easier for T&T to schedule all the remaining tasks needed before they relocated to Fort Connor. The remaining Army candidates were returned to their unit and nothing appeared on their permanent service record. The interview "NEVER HAPPENED" and any discussion of it would be a violation of "National Security"... and believe me you don't want to face down a "pissed off" POTUS!

Our HR Dream Team were shocked that the candidates selected were not the ones they recommended. We soothed their injured egos and told them the candidate selection was fierce competition... and in the end, it was Roger's recommendation to POTUS who made the final selection. We all answer to our Commander-in-Chief!

The men of Alpha Zulu welcomed our two new additions with open arms and most had a major boner after drooling over the two hot studs. We Generals met with them shortly after their arrival and asked them to join us for the best food in the United States Army. (We needed to give them a reason to stay at Fort Connor considering their next step in being processed was meeting our dictatorial Doc and being chipped.)

Our two newly minted Captains came limping back from Medical rubbing a sore hip. We advised them they were being billeted in our guest room so feel free to take a hot shower and rest till retreat. We all have had the experience you just received so we know a few hours of rest will greatly help to relieve your discomfort.

Turning these two hot studs loose naked in a shower was like pouring gasoline on a fire. We knew the expected results and we weren't wrong. They walked back to the bedroom they shared, locked the door and weren't heard of until just before retreat. They both were doing the "walk of shame" and all knew it wasn't totally from Doc's shot. This was going to be a fantastic protection detail and "family" for Roger. He deserved the best and we selected the best men we could find to protect this little imp.

For the next four months it was the same routine. T&T would fly in with Roger on Friday afternoon and fly back to Washington either after our Sunday evening meal or right after breakfast on Monday. Roger loved his two protectors as much as he loved being on "Puppy Duty". He hit up his father for an increase in his allowance so he could afford the big box of doggie treats in the commissary. (T&T were easy touches and Roger played them like a fiddle.)

As the end of the six months of Roger's orientation to Fort Connor a lot of important events happened in his young life. The most important was the judge giving T&T permanent custody of Roger to T&T. Our ever intuitive Roger sat his fathers down after their Sunday brunch and said he need a "man to man" talk with his dads. If you two keep spending so much time with me eventually your Board of Directors are going to complain. I'm ready to live at Fort Connor just so you visit me often and we get to spend the holidays and summer break together. T&T were in tears and loved Roger even more.

T&T advised us Roger was requesting permanent residence at Fort Connor and plan on him relocating the week before fall classes begin. Roger wasn't an "egg head" but he was far from being dumb. Easy school work was a thing of the past and he was fortunate to have two protectors who were well versed to help him with his homework and studies.

Learning that Lupo was now part of his permanent security detail Roger jumped into my arms and smothered me with hugs and kisses. (Damn, I love this little guy!)

As Roger rushed off to tell his two new protectors of him living at Fort Connor permanently T&T commented they now knew how their parents felt when they relocated them to Fort Connor. It was the best for the imp but definitely left a void in their heart.

Walking into my partners office I took his hand and walked him to our Master Bedroom. Advising OPS to hold any calls with the exception of POTUS or SecDef... we were "off the clock" until retreat.

I was so happy to have such a considerate partner that would help me put my legs together and get out of bed after we finished our quickie of an afternoon love fest. There was no hiding the fact from anyone on base what we had been doing and the only fact that made us smile was T&T doing the walk of shame also.

The day finally arrived Roger walked down the plane ramp to officially become "In Residence" at Fort Connor. We billeted him in the guest room next to his two protectors and T&T on the opposite side in our 3rd guest room. Roger could never get enough of playing with Lupo and we all would be sad in the future when Lupo sacrificed himself to save Roger's life.

Finally, the inevitable happened and T&T had to return to the corporate world of Worthington Industries and earn their keep. Roger was all tears hugging and kissing his fathers as they were leaving. Our two new protectors held Roger in their arms and told him he would never be alone and there would be plenty of opportunity for him to spend with his Fathers. Telling Roger to go take a shower and then we'll tuck you in bed.

As Roger returned from the shower and crawled into his bed, we could hear the soft sobs of an imp who felt so alone after bonding with two men who were his family. Our two protectors entered his room, kissed him and told him to move over he wasn't sleeping alone tonight.

With one protector on each side of our cute little imp as much as he truly missed his fathers, but he felt so secure wrapped in the arms of these two special men.

As we were enjoying our first night together with Roger being in permanent residence OPS announces the infamous ALERT, FORT CONNOR IS ON LOCKDOWN! The imps scrambled to the bunker most under the arm of a soldier running at a full out pace. The imps bunker was sealed in record time and it had more than adequate protection as never before. Between Monster and Lupo, any unauthorized intruder was be devoured if he entered the imps bunker.

Immediately conference with SecDef we asked what brought us to an Alert status. Someone shot T&T and both men are in Emergency Surgery at the moment. We'll let you know as soon as we know but for now there is no reason to upset Roger.

I downgraded our Alert status and kept the men on perimeter alert and rotated the squad so all the men got some sleep that night. We could look at the problem in the morning light and hopefully have good news to share with Roger.

Both T&T survived their surgery and were in guarded condition in a secure wing of the hospital. Roger was inconsolable and we assured Roger T&T were getting fine medical care. Our Protectors would be learning the hard facts of their job quicker than expected. Roger, his two protectors and his security detail (Including Lupo) boarded our Executive Jet for a fast trip to Washington and his waiting Armored Range Rover.

As Roger and his armed escort entered the hospital the nursing staff started going berserk! The Director of Nursing met us as we exited the elevator and attempted to proceed to T&T's room. "Children are not allowed and definitely not a dog!" I informed "her highness" I only answer to the President of the United States and if you have a problem take it up with him. OK, I fail at tact and diplomacy, but she was truly irritating. As she attempted to forcibly take Roger away from the security detail, she found Lupo between her and Roger in an attack position, hair standing straight up with his fangs bared and dripping. Advising her we had authorization to use deadly force to protect this imp and I hope the next decision she makes she chooses wisely.

Threatening us with a formal complaint to our commanding officer as she retreated in a huff we proceeded to T&T's room as Roger shed tears for the two men he loved. T&T informed their son they would be fine so get back to Fort Connor, do your schoolwork and make us even more proud of you than we are at the moment. "We are stuck in here for a while so feel free to video conference all you want. Know that we love you and always will!"

I wasn't surprised when my com went off and it was SecDef wanting to chat with me. He had just finished a heated conversation with the Hospital Nursing Director concerning my conduct. She was informed your actions were appropriate and authorized by the Pentagon and White House. She should be happy she wasn't shot or eaten. She slammed the phone in my ear. You are learning all the bad habits of your predecessors. POTUS and I concur: "Keep up the good work!"

Roger survived the first traumatic event in his life as a Worthington. I wish I felt it would be the last but from the history of Alpha Zulu this was only the start of the "Perfect Storm".
