Jon made a fast recovery and I'm certain a few sexual bribes by Enos help motivate his partner to fully participate in his rehab program. I was so happy to see Enos limping to breakfast one morning and Jon smiling as a Cheshire Cat.

I assigned a double security detail to accompany Enos and Jon to the Orphanage... Other than the security detail terrifying the imps. Enos was on summer break from Harvard and he was looking forward to spoiling his new sons. Oh, was he in for a shock.

Grandma Mama Bear issued the dictum she was the senior member of the family and only she would spoil her grandsons. The two imps had grandma wrapped around their small fingers and the fathers accepted this was a battle they would never win and not prepared to fight.

I assigned Enos as an assistant to our new Operations Director and he was quick to learn the reality of business vs the theory of business taught in his college classes. Experience is always the best teacher.

The minute Enos graduated he knew he had life employment in the Worthington World. I just didn't know where to place him to give him the real life experience to advance and replace me as the head of Worthington Industries.

It was the standard protocol that any employee who had a new family member received two weeks paid vacation to acclimate to being a new parent. Enos received the same consideration.

I was surprised when Mama Bear called a family meeting for Friday night in the Penthouse. Her conversation with me insisted I bring Rod.

Mama Bear was proud to announce she had volunteered to be the fund raiser for the Aaron Munro for President campaign. She would remain on the Board of Directors of Worthington Industries but she was specifically asking me to fast track Enos to take over my job as the CEO of Worthington Industries.

Mama Bear was content to be a loving mother and grandmother and raising money for Aaron was truly something that would leave a major impact on the entire United States. We were even more surprised that Aaron had asked Junior to be his running mate. I knew both the public and business leaders would accept anything from Aaron or Junior with the authority of the Worthington name.

We fathers had to decide if resigning our commissions and actively campaigning for the Munro/Mendez ticket or was it better to do the normal of showing up a week before the Democratic "steamroller" came to town.

Whether our two Harvard educated "sons" won or lost we would be so proud of them. Mama Bear never bet on a losing "horse" and the campaign money was always available to flood the airways at the critical moment. Aaron won primary after primary until the candidates opposing him dropped out of the running. Aaron won the Democratic nomination for President on the first ballot. Rod and I were proud parents as later in the convention we heard Aaron laud the praise of his good friend and nominee for Vice President Ricardo Mendez, Jr.

Suddenly a shot rang out and security immediately removed the dignitaries from the podium area. For one of the few times federal, state, local law enforcement worked cooperatively with Worthington Security. I sure wouldn't want to be the agency that was responsible for a hostile killing my son. There is a little imp by the name of Omoikane that would take out his revenge on all their electronic data and not leave a trace of evidence leading back to him.

The election wasn't even close... Most news organization declared the Munro/Mendez ticket the winner as soon as the west coast polls closed. POTUS was a proud leader as his protégé was sworn in as President of the United States at the Nation's Capital in Washington. Rod and I were proud fathers as Junior took the oath of office as the Vice-President.

I smile when I think back to these two imps hanging naked from the flagpoles at Fort Connor. Errant imps learn discipline and control in many ways and hanging naked from our flagpoles always seem to produce the desired effect. Not to mention it was a prerequisite to being accepted into the imp mafia.

Enos and Jon's sons were elated when asked if their names could be changed to Luke and John with their final adoption order. They knew how much this meant to Mama Bear and even at their young age they would do anything for such a wonderful woman.

When Mama Bear and their fathers ask our Cardinal Chaplain to baptize Luke and John, Rod and I stood proudly with Omoikane and Junior as the godparents of two precious imps.

The imps loved Fort Connor and the men of Alpha Zulu loved the imps. Even the "oldie" but "goodie" clear cling wrap over the toilets brought smiles to the faces of the men as they removed the imps from their bedroom and ran them up the flagpoles naked as the day they were born.

Walking out of our billet and seeing two naked imps shining in the sunlight of a new day I knew Fort Connor and Alpha Zulu was back to normal and all was well with the universe.

Rod and I would stay the Commanding Generals of Alpha Zulu until our mandatory retirement age which meant we would retain our command authority for LIFE! We voluntarily stepped down to inactive status to allow two worthy men to replace us and follow the traditions of the officers who have commanded Fort Connor over the years.

I now visit Rod frequently at Arlington and always leave a Red Rose for him as we talk as lovers knowing we will be reunited in heaven.

I make a point to always stop at the Tomb of the Unknowns and say a prayer for the sacrifices they made to protect our great nation.

It has been so long since my com has gone off it surprised me with an ALERT from OPS stating the Vice President on an Emergency.com for General Mendez.

I smiled as I answered the call and politely stated: "What can I do for the Vice President of the United States my son"?

"Dad, I need you and Enos to brush off your Ambassador Uniforms and meet with POTUS and me in the Oval Office as fast as possible. We have one last emergency to prevent or risk harming the people of the United States and the world...
