*=Gone but not forgotten

I knew something was "in the wind" when I get a Video Call from Luke and John asking if Matt and I were available for some brainstorming in the near future. "POTUS doesn't have anything currently scheduled but you know how that can change." He would be arriving early on Friday and would plan on spending the weekend. I warned the family of their pending visit so don't be surprised if we spend most of the weekend locked away "brainstorming". Matt and I were certain they could find something to keep themselves occupied and out of mischief.

I was shocked when OPS notified us at 0530 hours that Worthington One was requesting permission to land. I approved them landing and advised OPS to notify General Jackson. As I was rushing to finish my SSS and get into my BDUs, I had to wonder what was so important for the Worthingtons to get out of bed in the middle of the night to travel to Fort Connor?

Oh, well... there is plenty of Scotch and I can always hit up Billy Bob for another jug of Moonshine. The grapevine was blazing with the news of Worthington One arriving before Flag Raising... a first for Fort Connor. Everyone on base had their curiosity peaked. Luke, John, Logan and Alex descended the ramp and had their IDs verified. We all attended Flag Raising and then followed our noses to the wonderful fragrance Fort Connor is known to have spewing from its mess. Luke had to comment: "If the food tastes half as good as it smells the HR Dream Team really has a winner". (SecDef had told him of our devious tactics in procuring a new Master Sergeant for our Mess. Matt is a great teacher in sharing his devious talents with me.)

As we were finishing breakfast Luke commented he knew we had our morning staff meeting but could he steal the Chaplain till Matt and I had time for our brainstorming session. I assured the Chaplain we would bring him up to speed on anything he needed to know. "I leave you to the tender mercy of the Worthingtons."

Luke and Logan were very candid with the Chaplain that even our Generals didn't know what they had been up to. We wanted to show our appreciation not only for all you do for the men of Alpha Zulu but especially all you have done for our families over the years. When you decide to retire and I hope that is a long time in the future... the Executive Order in your file now states you will retire with the rank of a "Four Star General". If at any time you feel the men of Fort Connor will accept you regardless of your rank the Executive Order can take immediate effect. It doesn't matter the rank you are wearing on your uniform... the men trust the man and that is most important. You do make a difference and don't ever forget it.

Now, let's take a tour of the Chapel and tell me what you would like to add and/or tweak. The Chaplain didn't know what to say... he had one of the nicest Chapels of any military base in the country and other than size it would rival any of the Military Academies. If he had a wish it would be for a Chaplain's Aide who was proficient with playing an organ. He felt guilty asking any of the Generals considering how gracious everyone has been toward the religious needs of Fort Connor. Luke and Logan smiled at the Chaplain and told him to "Keep the faith"... Santa's helpers work miracles.

Matt and I knew something was up when the summer construction projects began at Fort Connor and the Chapel got an Office "refit" which would accommodate two in addition to himself. I could see Luke is playing games with my budget again. But, if anyone on base deserved something special "off the books" it was the Chaplain.

The timing was perfect... The Chaplain had the Worthingtons back at my office just as the staff meeting was breaking up. I asked for a few minutes to process all the coffee my body had so far consumed today and then we could start our meeting. Matt forwent the courtesy of explanation and just made a bee line for the latrine. As we settled into our second meeting of the day our fearless Adjutant wheeled in an Urn of hot black coffee which I swear we wouldn't survive around here without a regular infusion.

Luke told us none of this is classified, POTUS and SecDef already have been briefed and readily approve the concept. They recommended highly we bring you up to speed and have your blessing before we proceed further.

We all are aware of the deficits in the "child care system" of this country. The Child Adoption Bill Dale co-sponsored will do much to address a lot of these deficits but one area that isn't address is what happens to these kids once they turn of legal age. No state will provide resources to assist them and they either end up back on the street selling themselves or in jail being forced into a life of crime to survive.

With the backing of the Worthington Corporation and the Worthington Foundation we are going to fund a number of pilot programs in major cities to provide for these children once they turn of legal age, prepare them for college, vocational school, the military or whatever productive area of life that interests them. To that end, we would like to enlist your "stars" as we kick off the legislation and the funding for the program which will be known as "Rogers' House". Matt and I had tears both at the honor of being asked and at the tribute to the son we lost.

We spent the rest of the morning brainstorming over a lot of nuisances of this new program and having the support of POTUS and the Military would definitely help to make it a reality. As Luke and "clan" were spending the weekend I wanted to have a family meeting with all the kids and make certain they were on board and would support the endeavor. I'd try to get Dale and Shawn to video conference after our evening meal. I'd warn Bobby and Tommy not to plan on anything for tonight. Matt and I wanted the entire family together. That would give us the balance of the weekend to address any concerns the kids might have.

After our evening meal I had OPS bring up Dale, Duke, Shawn and Jax on our big screen as the rest of us got comfortable in our common area. Bobby and Tommy were in tears as Luke and Logan explained the program. Dale and Shawn were holding it together and suggested some arrangement or consideration should be made for those children under 18 that end up on the street and fall through the holes in our current system. (Great suggestion from the youngest members of our "brain trust".) As this would soon be the start of the election campaign for federal offices POTUS wanted this to be a key plank in the Democratic Platform and had the support of all major donators to the Democratic party.

By the time the election results came in the Democrats had a full sweep in both houses of Congress and Federal seed money for Rogers' House was a "rider" to Dale's adoption reform bill which would now be known as "Roger's Law". By the time Dale took his Oath of Office as the youngest Vice President in the History of the United States he had the full support of POTUS, the Worthington Corporation, the Worthington Foundation, his Six Star Fathers and all the influence the Office of the Vice President could have in making this program a success.

By the time Luke, John, Logan and Alex left for their VIP Suites that evening Bobby and Tommy had "alligator tears" streaming down their faces being held securely in the arms of Isaac and Mark. Perhaps this would be a good catharsis to help them accept Roger's death but they both knew if they hadn't asked Roger for help he wouldn't have been killed. What Roger did he did out of love. Now this is something they can do out of love for Roger and a lasting tribute to his memory.

I had little doubt how Duke was helping Dale with his stress management of this evening and I knew Jax was taking good care of Shawn. I'd talk with them after the reality of this evening sets in and the emotion starts to fade away. As for Bobby and Tommy the Chaplain is earning his rank and I hate to think about a future where he decides to retire. Anyone can be replaced but his shoes are even bigger than Max's paws Alexander had to fill.

I brought up the Chaplain on my com and asked if he had time to meet with me in the Chapel yet tonight. Without the slightest reservation he'd be there in 10 minutes if that is convenient for you sir? As I sat there with my face in my hands I muttered we had made so much progress with Bobby and Tommy and I couldn't fault Luke or Logan... the program they are proposing will help so many kids that "fall through the cracks" and it is meant to honor the memory of Roger. But, every time they hear a newscast or read an online article it is going to bring back the memory of Roger's death. I have a hard time bearing the flashbacks of seeing him dying in my arms and I'm a seasoned combat soldier. How to I prepare them, protect them and help them?

"You lost a wonderful young man who you will always cherish as your son." None of us know how long we have upon this earth and look at all the good this young man has done in the short time he was allowed to be with us. There is no doubt you will be a family in heaven. Just keep the lines of communication open with Matt, Isaac and Mark... You have a wonderful partner to support you in everything you do, don't close him out. And as for Isaac and Mark your sons love them totally. Let them help you to make this a positive moment where Roger's life can mean so much for so many children.

Now go back to your quarters, make love to Matt like you never have before and remind him you love him even more than the day you were married. Act like the Commanding General our Alpha Zulu men love and will follow to the ends of the earth. I know Matt, Dale and Shawn will always support you so don't be shy about asking for help. You are a family... a wonderful family... Don't give me a reason to post a guard at your bedroom door because if I have to have it done I'll be asking for 1st Sergeant Alexander to be assigned. There aren't enough doggie treats on this base to bribe him once he has been given an order. Ok, OK... I admit defeat... I'll try it your way but if I don't feel better I'll be getting Alexander out of bed in the middle of the night to join me and my emergency stash of doggie treats.

I returned to my quarters to find a very concerned Matt... I take it the Chaplain has talked with you already... (Did I even need to ask?) OK, let me take a shower and I'll join you in bed. I had the choice between you and Alexander and I don't have to take you out for a walk before breakfast. (Matt flipped me the "bird" as I headed to the shower.)

It was a wonderful night spent in his arms, no sex, no orgasms, just a wonderful man I married and who I care about with every fiber of my being. Before I realized the time our two sons came running into our bedroom screaming: "INCOMMING" as my balls crawled up into my guts for protection they fortunately landed between us and their knees missing anything vital between our legs. Yes, they were in cuddle mode and whatever Isaac and Mark did to improve their spirits I need to have a long discussion with them and learn whatever it is. I'm certain with Isaac it involved one or both of them getting their ass destroyed but Mark... Bobby is still my sweet little boy and I want to cherish that for as long as possible. Yes, I want Bobby to become a normal sexually active kid but hopefully that is still a few years down the road. And, I need to remind Mark that I don't want him to keep Bobby from having a normal childhood and the same experiences that we had growing up.

Tommy was the first to speak: "Bobby and I are playing hooky from Flag Raising so we can have some cuddle time with our fathers. So, we are all yours for the next hour and then we have to clean up for breakfast. You two have more talking and planning to do with Uncle Luke and Logan. We want our entire family to be together when we open the first Roger's House.

Matt and I couldn't believe these were the same two kids who went to bed in tears last night. Doc and the Chaplain aren't the only ones who can work miracles around Fort Connor.

I felt hope for the first time that the Chaplain could help them through the emotional trauma they would face these next months as Roger's House became a reality.

As we faced the stress of the Democratic Convention and Dale's nomination as the Vice-Presidential candidate we proud fathers kept a low profile and our (military) mouths shut. As military officers we aren't allowed to take an active participation in political elections. That doesn't prevent us from standing with our son and indirectly showing the people our total support for his endeavor.

Between the Secret Service, Alpha Zulu Security and Worthington Executive Security we had to file paperwork in triplicate 24 hours before we wanted to use the latrine. And, talk about NO PRIVACY, I'm glad I don't have shy and bashful kids. It was a cold windy day in Washington as Matt and I sat quietly with the kids and watched Dale take his oath of office as the youngest Vice President in the history of the United States. Duke held our bible as Dale took his oath administered by the Chief Justice of the United States. After he completed his oath, he kissed the bible, shook the hand of the Chief Justice and then in front of the world passionately kissed Duke. The media went wild and it led the evening news in every "market" in the United States and most foreign countries.

We knew how proud Dale was of Duke when we all gathered for the Christmas holidays and as we were exchanging gifts Dale handed duke a small box and everyone present held their breath to see what Duke had received. There were tears on his face when he opened the box to see the four stars of a General in the United States Army. I immediately went into Commanding Officer mode and administered his Commissioning Oath. Now it was Duke's turn to wrap his arms around his lover and kiss him passionately.

Also, Christmas was special for the Chaplain. Luke and Logan cornered Matt and me and confessed their sins about renovating the Chapel. All four of knew the Chaplain was overworked. Luke had our HR Dream Team search the military for a new young Chaplain that could fill the shoes and give some time for our existing Chaplain to have a life. Also, I've added a Chaplain's Aide to the staff of Fort Connor so we have some interviews and selection to do as soon as possible when you get back to Fort Connor.

The Chaplain's Aide was easy as the primary requirement per the Chaplain was that he had talented fingers when it came to our new electronic digital organ. Everything else skill wise, clerical and religious, can be learned quickly. Luke wanted to get the two new men onboard as soon as possible after the first of the year.

We thanked Luke and Logan for doing what we Generals should have done long ago. Our Chaplain does such a fantastic job and we do consider him irreplaceable. The one thing Matt and I need to do is make the Sergeants aware our Chaplain won't accept any advancement because of his concern of how it will reflect with the men. The Sergeants need to have their men make the Chaplain aware it is the MAN not the RANK they trust. I'm certain the men will demand the Chaplain immediately accept and wear the four stars he has earned and deserves. Our two new additions need to know how valued a man our Chaplain is to our Alpha Zulu family.

Our Chaplain was shocked when we notified him his presence was requested at the Worthington Executive Offices immediately after all his Christmas responsibilities had been accomplished. HR was notified to have the three candidates for the assistant Chaplain posting and the three candidates for the Chaplain Aide posting transported to Washington and billeted at the Marriott.

The final task of love was to video conference with the Sergeants and ask their men to have a long talk with the Chaplain. Hopefully, we'll see four stars on his shoulders when he arrives for the interviews.

The sergeants were most persuasive. Every man on base was appalled the Chaplain would turn down such a promotion over concerns of how they would feel about it. All of the off duty men gathered in the Chapel as the Sergeants asked OPS to have the Chaplain please join them. It would have been so easy to have the 1st Sergeant intimidate the Chaplain but we wanted him to believe this is what the men wanted for him. Four "rookie" privates, one from each squad, came forward and tried in their own words how the men felt about him and how every man on base wanted him to accept his promotion. Only when the Chaplain was in tears and thanking the men for being so wonderful did General Jackson enter with his administrative team and give the Chaplain his Commissioning Oath as a General in the United States Army. All of us at Camp Phoenix had it streamed live to us and we erupted in praise for this man who has done so much for our family and for the Alpha Zulu program.

I turned to Luke and told him: "You know, we now need to give Lt. General Jackson, Lt. General Alison and Major General Afolabi an additional star. Luke grinning from ear to ear quietly said: "IT'S ALREAD DONE!" You just need to administer their oath when you return to Fort Connor.

The Holiday celebration at Camp Phoenix was as usual a great family affair and even Dale and Duke were able to attend. The Secret Service was a little miffed at the restrictions our security details put on them but this was our turf... LIVE WITH IT!

Our HR Dream Team notified us our six candidates for the addition to the Chapel staff were in house at the Marriott and our current Chaplain would be at the Worthington Executive Office when we arrive in the morning.

Luke, Logan, Matt and I smiled at our good friend and commented how great those four stars look on your shoulder. Our ever modest Chaplain just snapped to attention and said: "THANK YOU SIRS"!

Luke lead the way as we enjoyed a great breakfast before we had to face our willing victims. If they knew the big shoes they had to fill I doubt if they would have agreed to the interviews.

Three rookie Chaplains straight out of Chaplain School so time for a little shock therapy and the reality of Army life and a gay friendly Fort Connor. It took them a few minutes to get over the shock of two six star Generals and a four star Chaplain wearing a small arms expert badge. We shared with them the facts of Fort Connor, the risks, the benefits, the rewards and the comradery we have as a team. We are never judgmental of anyone and we never pull rank. We respect everyone equally even though our rank may dictate our responsibilities we never abuse the power it holds.

Our three candidates were new to the Army but it only took a Google search to find and realize the power and influence the Worthingtons had with the United States Military. Combined with facing an extremely personal interview with three generals they all wondered if they would have a career by the end of the day especially when we asked what was their sexual preference.

After the shock of the question wore off we reminded them we needed an answer... Thinking their Army career had ended before it had even started three newly minted Captain admitted they were gay but only one presented himself with the pride and dignity of being gay. We then asked them to tell us about their growing up, their family life, their sexual development, nothing that we wouldn't ask a soldier if and when the situation necessitated it. Again, the answers were most similar but one individual never hesitated and shared his information proudly.

As we asked the three to wait in the adjoining office the four of us turned to the Chaplain and asked what he thought of the three young men. The Chaplain commented all three will make fine Chaplains but only one seems to be a good fit for Fort Connor. Logan took the lead and dismissed the two candidates not selected and told them there was a limo waiting to return them to their billet. The individual we selected was asked if he would like to join us for lunch.

His first question as we were informally chatting over lunch was: "WHY ME?" The Chaplain answered that comment is the reason. You are modest yet proud... a rare combination which will make for an easy acceptance by the men of Fort Connor. We spent the balance of the afternoon just chatting informally and getting to know the real man and the true motivation behind a GAY man wanting to join a homophobic Army. "Even Gay men need pastoral care!" We did have a winner. Like many of the men of Alpha Zulu he had no living family and the military would now be his family for life. We informed him we would appreciate him participating in the selection of the new Chaplain Aide. OPS would let him know when the Beast would pick us up from the Marriott in the morning.

We shared a ride back to the Marriott with Luke and spent a wonderful evening with Luke, John, Billy Bob and Connor. One down, one to go! Matt and I were wise and turned down Billy Bob's offer of Moonshine after we enjoyed the 20 year old Scotch whiskey Luke always has stocked. We needed clear heads to make the correct decision in the morning.

Little did we know as we Leaders spent the evening enjoying ourselves in the comfort of Luke's penthouse the Captain we had selected earlier that day was relaxing in the bar and saw an attractive young man who appeared to be military from the haircut... (gives `em away every time).

Asking his waitress to order another of whatever he was drinking on his tab he smiled at the young man and wondered how lucky he could get tonight. His heart raced as his young friend walked across the room, introduced himself and shyly admitted he was an Army Sergeant. After a few more drinks they were in no shape to be in public and our young Sergeant invited his new friend back to his room.

The bulge in their trousers was all too obvious and this excited both men. The door barely closed behind them and their hands were tearing off clothing and their mouths attacking each other like hungry animals. By Midnight their throats were raw and their asses were on fire. Their balls were well drained and they knew this was probably a "one night stand" and that is the problem with Army life and a new posting. It is difficult to have a lasting relationship.

They awoke before sunrise and enjoyed the warmth of a relaxing shower and massaging the beautiful naked man who were quickly stealing each others hearts. There was time for a quickie and the scream from the sergeant's mouth quickly turned to moans of pleasure and words of encouragement. He was versatile when it came to sex but right now he was enjoying pleasuring this wonderful man and never wanted the moment to end. They had time to enjoy room service delivering breakfast before the Captain had to head out to join Luke, Logan and the Generals to make an important selection.

Our Sergeant had no idea that the man he made love to would be one of the men who would be interviewing his in only a few hours.

On the Limo ride to the Worthington Offices I had to smile and comment it sure looks like we have a very happy Captain this morning. As our Captain started to turn multiple shades of red we only increased our lurid comments and questions as to how he enjoyed himself the previous night. He finally broke down and told us he had the most wonderful night of sex of his life. I only wish it could be forever.

Finally we settled into the conference room and started individual interviews with the three potential candidates. We let the Chaplains do most of the Q&A as the individual selected would be working closely with them. It had to be a good personality fit for us to have a happy working relationship.

Interview 1 and 2 went without any hitches and pretty much as everyone expected. When the third candidate entered the room our new Chaplain rose, walked to the Sergeant, embraced him and the tongue battle that ensued rivaled that of any porn movie. The five of us just sat there and felt the love emanating from the two of them. Finally, Matt was the wet blanket and broke up our love fest.

Our lovers apologized profusely as Luke asked them to explain themselves. They had spent a wonderful night together and had feelings they had never experienced before. Knowing the Army they doubted if they would ever have a posting where they could have a real romantic relationship. Logan commented if you would do us the honor of sitting down and talking with us perhaps we can make it happen.

Our new Chaplain apologized profusely for his lack of decorum and we commented it only confirmed the feelings we had about him when we made his selection yesterday. Turning to our new potential Chaplain Aide we started with the standard questions and then the obvious comment that you are gay. Tell us about growing up and how you handled your sexuality.

He was a star athlete in high school and college. Lost his virginity to one of his football team members and never had any regrets in giving it up. He never had any interest in women. His parents were killed in an auto accident while he was in college and left enough money so he could complete his education. He joined the Army to serve his country and when the opportunity became available to serve his country and to serve his God he had to apply and see if he could be the one selected.

"Please believe me sirs, what the Captain and I shared last night was from our hearts. I had no idea of his association with this selection or posting to Alpha Zulu". The Captain confirmed they never talked about Fort Connor, a new posting, Alpha Zulu or anything connected to today's interview. He hated to admit it but we were carnal animals last night and I hope if he is selected we can be billeted together at Fort Connor.

Matt looked at me and knew I'd never stand in the way of true love. Luke and Logan were definitely thinking the same as us. We turned to the Chaplain and asked what he thought about having two working with him. The Chaplain smiled from ear to ear and commented they best be certain to lock their office door if they were going to have a quickie and sex in the Sanctuary wouldn't be acceptable.

Luke reminded us we forgot one major requirement. Turning to the Sergeant he asked: "Can you play the organ"? I've had 15 years of piano and organ lessons, I minored in music at College and I've given numerous Organ and Piano recitals.

Logan asked the last question: "Are you both willing to sign a five year contract with Alpha Zulu"? Without hesitation they both answered with a resounding: YES! OK, I'll have the Marriott Manager move you two into an Executive Suite and you'll spend a week in Washington filling out paperwork for our HR team and getting fitted for new uniforms. Welcome to Fort Connor and the Alpha Zulu Team. Matt and I turned to Logan and ask him to have the Manager put them in the Honeymoon Suite if it is available. (Oh, we two are evil at times!)

As our two new lovers were adjusting to their new room there was a knock at the door and a bell hop standing with a package: "With the compliments of Mr. Worthington"! They thanked him and settled into their comfortable surroundings to see what gift they had received. They were embarrassed and excited when opening the box they found twelve tubes of lube. Luke may be OLD but he is far from DEAD!

Our two new lovers had sex every place in their suite except their bed. When they finally accepted the fact they were exhausted they helped each other to bed and collapsed unconscious in each others arms. Their body clocks went off at 0500 hours and the obvious need of their bladders were all too apparent. Not to waste a good hardon our new young Chaplain held his lover tight and firmly slid his hardness into the depths of his lover. It only took a few thrusts and they both exploded. They cuddle and kissed until their Smart Phones went off and HR notified them there would be a limo to take them to the tailor at the Executive Entrance at 0900 hours. BE ON TIME!

They enjoyed breakfast bar in the Marriott Dining Room and finally had enough energy to think about how to spend the next few hours before they had to face the tailor. As they quickly signed the restaurant check they scurried to the elevator and back to their suite. Seeing how the Chaplain had been the aggressor at dawn it was now the Sergeants turn to give the Chaplain a fuck that will have his balls exploding and his mind reaching Nirvana multiple times.

Using copious amounts of lube he slid effortlessly into his lover's body, held him tight and told him how wonderful he felt. He didn't want sex he wanted to make love to him. The Corona of his cock was just the right size to hit his partner's prostate on every thrust. They both lost count of how many orgasms they shared but assured each other it wasn't as many as would be shared when they returned from the Tailor Shop.

They lay in the warm afterglow of great sex holding and kissing each other. They knew they had to face the shower and the tailor but they could have a wonderful evening and do whatever their hearts desire. They both knew how lonely it was being without a family and now they had each other... feelings they never knew possible were starting to bond between them. Our Chaplain and Generals were wise enough to know they had two lovers who just signed on for a 20-30 year commitment to Alpha Zulu.

Matt and I had to return to Fort Connor as our two new additions to Alpha Zulu spent a great week preparing their minds for their new posting. Someday they will need to return to Washington to appreciate all the history and monuments of the city. At the moment the only sight they desired was the inside of the Honeymoon Suite.

Walking down the ramp of our Jet definitely had the feeling of arriving at home. Yes, we may get yelled at for flying together but I enjoy having the quiet times with Matt just to appreciate him and the tender moments we care share outside of our hectic lives.

Having the boys rush into our arms when we walk into our quarters reminds us how lucky we are to be parents and have the love of two such wonderful children. We always miss Duke, Dale, Shawn and Jax but we have to accept they have a life of their own and have a destiny to have a positive impact upon our great nation.

Even sleeping in the Guest Suite of the Worthington's Penthouse nothing beats our own bed at Fort Connor. I'd like to give the designer that gave us tankless water heaters a bronze star except Matt says I come to bed looking like a prune. (He hasn't kicked me out yet!) Just relaxing in his arms enjoying the quiet of the night is such a wonderful moment.

It always seems the bad news comes in the middle of the night. I always rest and sleep better after 0200 hours and tonight is no different. I look at the bedside clock and it reads 0159 hours and my brain thinks it will actually get a restful night of sleep. "ALERT, ALERT, THIS IS A ALPHA ZULU TACTICAL ALERT... THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!! My wrist com goes off and OPS announced SecDef on Video Conference for you and General LongDick. A very sleep deprived SecDef comes on the screen and talks to us as a good friend not as our leader. "Matt, Jason... At 0100 hours there was an incursion into the residence Shawn and Jax share on campus. I only have the preliminary information and we are still evaluating the situation. The initial reports indicated two insurgents dead and three federal officers down and in serious condition. Shawn was found cradling Jax in his arms and the stupidity of the local police arrested him as a suspect. I have the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) and an FBI Tactical Team on their way and should arrive within minutes. By the time you get to your jet I'll have military clearance for you with priority clearance to Michigan. God Speed!"

General Jackson entered our quarters and I asked for six security guards to join us immediately on our plane and load up Alpha Zulu One and Two with 8 additional security each as soon as they can be ready to leave. I want them loaded for combat and emphasize to them this is not a drill. A verbal warning if possible but the first shot is to be a kill shot.

The flight seemed endless but at least we were met by Army Security and a fast trip to the University Hospital. We entered finding a "cat fight" between local, state and FBI law enforcement. I asked who represented the federal government and introduced myself to the AUSA and the team leader for the FBI tactical team. I informed them I was taking command upon order of the Secretary of Defense and the President of the United States. The use of lethal force has been authorized and if anyone wants to challenge my authority I hope their life insurance is paid. (Matt's lessons on political correctness is an ongoing learning process which I am currently failing.)

Show me to my son's room... I entered the room to see Shawn fighting with a local police officer who was trying to remove his wrist com. He responded to the sound of six Uzi bolts being armed and my command to FREEZE! I introduced myself and apraised him of the situation.

If you remove that wrist com the following protocol is immediately implemented. A squad of armed Blackhawk helicopters will shortly arrive and one hundred Special ops Army Soldier will descend upon this hospital with the authority to use lethal force. I suggest you stand down or have your will up-to-date.

Almost immediately the head of the local police onsite received a cell call and I could see the blood drain from his face. He was directed to STAND DOWN, he was relieved of duty pending an investigation of his conduct. The Governor had a State Police tactical team enroot to support the FBI tactical team until Alpha Zulu Security arrives. "Surrender your pistol and badge to your second in command and report to my office immediately."

I immediately asked for the hospital administrator, the doctor treating my son and the head nurse for this area of the hospital. I explained to them the "facts of life" and the results of refusing an order from one of our men. Now, if you will please evaluate my son and apprise General LongDick of his status I would appreciate meeting the doctors who have or are working on my soldiers.

The two security officers were out of surgery, critical but stable. Jax injuries were extremely critical. His body armor stopped the bullet but he had his heart severely bruised and was being treated by their cardiac specialty team. They will have additional information when they finish their exam.

I appraised all parties that whatever they needed, whoever they needed, let me know and if it is earthly possible it will be done.

Now I faced the worse moment in a parent's life... telling our son we love their partner may not survive the night.
