Tanner and Han stood awe-struck. They were shocked that their new friends were outside in just diapers. Not even pull-ups, but tape-on diapers. They knew that Sammy wore diapers because of what was said yesterday about him needing to be changed, and since he is a little kid, it’s not too big of a deal. But the other boys are older than him. They are the same age as Tanner after all. They are all really cute, which is giving both of them stiffies in their shorts. “Hi guys, how are you doing today??" Asked Nicky, trying to make them more comfortable, before they talk about the Pink Elephant, ie them in diapers. “We are ok. But why are you guys in just diapers, especially outside playing?” Asked Han. Erik is trying to slowly hide, so that the 2 other boys can’t see him, but other than getting off the tire swing, to go inside or into the fort, there is really no place to hide more and to not draw any attention to himself. “Guys, we have bad bladders. That is why we all wear diapers. The doctors say Sammy will probably be in diapers forever. X and I have much better daytime control. Normally we would wear a pull-up if we needed to, but this summer, we have been in diapers. Kevin is our guardian. He took X in because his mom was abusive and then was trying to get rid of him, so Kevin agreed to take and raise him as a son. My dad was a friend of Kevin’s. Actually, Kevin helped him out when he was a kid, and he knew Kevin would never hurt us. At the end of the school year, my dad was in a bad car crash. He died a few days later. I think X is the same, because of how his mom neglected and abused him, and that he never had a dad in his life.” Nicky explained as he was trying to hold back his tears because talking about his dad and the changes they have experienced the last few months is very hard on him because he has tried to be the strong big brother and not show any of it to Sammy, so he won’t worry or be scared. Sammy got off the swing to hug his big bro. X went to hug Nicky also. They had a group hug for a minute or so. This helped Nicky and helped him get control of his emotions again. “I am a bedwetter and I sometimes have small accidents in the day when I am busy playing games or reading. At home my mom only lets me wear GoodNites when I go to bed. I tried a diaper when I slept over here the other night. He realized how easy he had it compared to his friends and figured he could be brave and speak up for himself. “Guys, we won’t tease you. Sadly, they do several times a week.” Stated Tanner. “I wet the bed too. I have never had a dry night. My grandma says my dad wet the bed until he was old enough to drive, so like 16. She is cool about it. She gets me goodnites and I have a cover on my bed for when I leak. I thought about diapers a few times because I saw them in stores, but just could not ask for them because I was afraid Granny would think I was a baby instead of almost a teenager. Those diapers look like they hold a lot more than the goodnites do, so I bet they don’t leak as easily.” Han explained as he was looking at his feet most of the time. “Maybe you guys can sleep over here and see how comfy they are and how well they work. What are you doing tonight?” asked X. “So what’s it like wearing diapers during the day? And why would you not wear clothes over them, especially when you are outside?“ asked Tanner. “They are great. You don’t have to stop playing games, or anything else when you have to pee. Just pee and it feels really good because it’s warm and makes the diaper even softer. Diapers are kind of warm, so not wearing a lot over them feels good. It’s private here, so we thought no one would see us. If anyone comes down our driveway we will hear them and could go into the fort or inside.” Said an excited Sammy, thinking he might get more friends to wear diapers with him and his brothers. The boys felt better now that they had talked about the diapers and everyone knew there would be no teasing and that they were the same, at least at night. “Do you want to play here or should we go explore the woods and stuff?” asked Nicky. “Let’s explore” was the resounding response. “Are you guys going to put some shorts on? Some of the areas got lots of brush and there are some blackberry plants too, but they got nasty thorns.” Asked Han. The boys giggled and nodded, and then they all headed into the house, and then upstairs. “Please don’t pick on me because of the room that my Uncle set up for me.” Said Sammy, because he figured they would tease him or laugh when they saw his crib. The new boys looked at him kind of funny because they were confused. But once they saw his room, they understood. But if he liked it, then who were they to make a big deal about it? They would not want a changing table, paw patrol, or a crib, but if it made him happy, that is all that matters. “If you like it, Sammy, then it’s cool. It’s not my style, but it’s your room, not mine.” Said Han. This made Sammy smile because he did like his room. Then Sammy gave Han a quick hug. “Thanks,” Sammy said as he let Han go. The boys got dressed in shorts over their diapers. The new boys had to admit that the rooms upstairs were some of the coolest bedrooms they ever saw because they were fun and certainly done for boys. They both thought it would be fun to sleep over here and play with the toys and Legos. The boys stopped to tell Kevin what they were going to do. He approved of it but made them take a radio with them, just in case. He reminded Erik that his uncles would be there to pick him up at about 3 pm and that Lunch would be ready in about 2 hours. Everyone is welcome to have lunch. The boys all explored and played until lunch. They had a lot of fun and got dirty. When Kevin saw them, he decided they would eat on the patio, so they didn’t track a bunch of dirt inside. Tanner and Han enjoyed lunch. Tanner normally only gets a slice of bread with a little jam on it when he eats at home. Han is better and will invite Tanner over as much as he can. His Granny makes soup a lot, so it’s filling and pretty good for them. All the boys enjoyed the chili dogs and pasta salad that Kevin had done for lunch. When the boys sat down to eat, Kevin noticed that Han moved his chair, so he was next to Kevin instead of next to the boys. This was also noticed by Nicky and Tanner. After lunch, Kevin told the boys they had about 2 hours until Erik needed to be back to get ready to go home. The boys went back out and continued exploring. Josh and David showed up about 2 hours later. Kevin called the boys back to the house using their radio. When they returned, they all were very dirty and had mud on their clothes. “Boys, you are covered in mud. Anyone that is going to go inside needs to strip down and leave their muddy clothes here. Erik that means you for sure.” “Dad, I’ll go help him get his stuff put together. I need to use the bathroom soon too.” Said Nicky. “If anyone else needs to be changed, let me know.” Both Sammy and X said they were very wet and close to leaking so a change would be good. Kevin asked Nicky to bring down diapers and a package of wipes or send them down with Erik. Erik blushed as he was removing his muddy clothes. He was very wet, and his uncles were going to see him in a diaper during the day. Soon he was in just his soggy diaper. As he was stripping, Nicky did the same. He was quicker as he was not worried about being seen in his diaper by Josh or his boyfriend, David. “Erik, it looks like you need to be changed. Do you want me to change your diaper?” asked Josh. Causing Erik to blush even more. “I think I should wear my undies since I have to go home. I don’t think my mom would like me wearing a real diaper at home.” Replied Erik. Nicky and Erik went upstairs to get cleaned up. About 5 minutes later Erik came down with a few diapers and the wipes Kevin had requested. The adults finished their discussion while Kevin and Josh changed X and Sammy. Tanner and Han stood there watching the boys get changed and realized they both were rock hard while watching the diaper changes take place. Neither was sure if it was the diaper or the boy’s privates, or the combo of both that got them so stiff, but they both knew they liked what they saw. It was clear that the boys were loved because the diaper change was done with love and tenderness as a loving parent does for a child. Including Kevin blowing a raspberry on X’s tummy when the diaper was in place, which caused everyone to laugh. Erik said goodbye, and Kevin corrected him by saying, “Erik, it’s not goodbye, it’s until we see you again, which I have a feeling will be pretty soon. You are welcome at our home anytime. See you soon young man.” Then Kevin gave him a quick hug. Josh, David, and Erik were out the door, a moment later. Just after they left, Nicky came downstairs in his diaper, which he put on himself. He did a pretty good job, and Kevin only gave him 2 pointers to work on for next time. This made Nicky beam with pride and a feeling of accomplishment. “Dad, can Tanner and Han spend the night tonight?” asked Nicky. Sammy looked at him strangely because he called Kevin Dad twice in the last 10 minutes, and Sammy had not fully accepted Kevin as his new dad yet, even though he knew Kevin loved him like a son. “It’s fine with me, but they need to clear it with their parents too.” “My stepfather won’t care, it’s one less mouth he has to feed tonight, and no risk I will have to do laundry in the morning.” Said Tanner with a bit of spite and venom in his voice. “You still need to let him know. If he wants, I will talk to him to let him know it’s okay with me. The same applies to you Han.” Tanner called his stepfather. He was surprised when he asked to speak to Kevin. “Hello, this is Kevin, To whom am I speaking too?” “I’m Mike, Tanner’s stepfather. Are you sure you want him to sleep over? He wets the bed every night, like a big baby. Some nights his diapers will leak and soak his bed.” “Mike, that’s not a big deal. I did foster care for many years, and most of the boys in foster care have accidents at night, even some of the teens. In fact, I remember reading a few studies a couple of years ago. He will also let you do things with us when we invite you. I will have a form I will ask you to take home and have him fill out and sign. Then bring it back to me please.” “Really, cool. Can I stay for a week?” asked an excited Tanner. “Buddy let’s start with 1 night and we will go from there. Besides we have stuff we need to do this week, but if you and Han like fishing and want to go with us, that would be fine with me. I bet the boys would like to have their friends join them too.” All the boys were excited and happy about this. “Han, I will send the same form home with you for your granny. Can you call her now so I can talk to her, I assume she will want to talk to me because she sounds like a good person.” Han called his Granny. He asked if he could spend the night with the new boys that moved into the old farmhouse that he told her about last night. She asked to speak to their mom. Han reminded her it was just the boys and their dad, so she asked to speak to him. “Hello, this is Kevin. I assume you must be Han’s grandmother. It’s nice to talk to you.” “Hello, yes I am his grandmother, but please call me Faye. I am glad Han is making more friends. He only has one, Tanner. He is a good boy, but his home life is not. I have no problem with him sleeping at your home, but would you answer a few questions for me?” “Let me dismiss the boys, and then we can talk.” “Boys, you can go out and play in the yard, don’t go far, because you will help me with dinner soon.” With that, the boys all headed outside. “Okay, I sent the boys out to play in the yard. Now we can talk freely, without them trying to figure out the conversation.” “Yeah, Han loves to try to listen and figure out what is being said when he knows the conversation relates to him,” said Faye with a chuckle. “I think many people do that; I know my boys do as well. So, what would you like to know?” “First, did Han tell you about his nighttime issues?” “He did not, but my boys are bedwetters and have bladder issues, so they have to wear diapers at least part-time during the day. Han and Tanner have seen them in their diapers, and even my youngest, who is 7, getting his diaper changed. I know Tanner is a bedwetter and I figured Han was or had been. Send him home and if you send the form, I will send it back with him when he comes back with his clothes.” “Sounds like a plan. I will let you go. I hope I get the pleasure to meet you one of these days.” “Same, have a great day.” With that, the conversation was done, and Kevin went to prepare the needed form to send home with the boys. He found one online that covered most of it, but Kevin added an additional clause, that stated if anything happened to the child’s parent or caregiver so they were no longer able to take care of him, the parent gives full guardianship to Kevin unless a will dated after the date of this document states otherwise. Kevin emailed it to David to review, and after a few minutes, he got a version with just a few changes and an OK from David on it. Then Kevin printed out several copies of the form, 2 were set by the back door for the boys to take home when they went to get clean clothes. About an hour later Kevin called the boys in. He explained that Han and Tanner had to go home to get a clean change of clothes because they were very dirty. He told Tanner, if his dad got upset about the mud, tell him that I would be doing laundry and they would be clean when he came home, but that he needed clean clothes to wear while they were being washed and when we went to the store in the morning. He also gave both boys the form and asked them to try to bring it back with them. Han and Tanner headed out with forms in hand. They decided it was best if they went to Tanner’s trailer together. They stopped there, and while Tanner got a plastic shopping bag and put a change of clothes in it, his dad filled out the form. He never even read it. He just filled in his personal info and then signed it. Then the boys left. They got to Han’s trailer. Faye commented on how muddy they were. They laughed and blushed a bit. She filled out the form while Han got his clothes and put them in his backpack. Tanner’s bag also fit in it. They had each grabbed a GoodNites to wear, but really wanted to try one of the diapers the other boys wore. After a good night hug to both boys from Faye, they were on their way back to the farmhouse, as they would all refer to it. I will have you boys help to do the fixings, like the cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and such. I need you to wash your hands and faces, and then you can all sit up at the outdoor table and work on everything out there. I know it’s very warm today, but there is a breeze, and I will turn the fan out on the patio, so that will make sure there is lots of airflow. You can do that in just your diapers if you wish.” The boys got comfy and then cleaned up, while Kevin set out the stuff they would need. He had taught them how to chop veggies and grate cheese, and more importantly, how to do it safely. Just as the boys were getting ready to start working on the “fixings” as Kevin called them, Tanner and Han came running back to them. “Hey guys, we got our clothes, and the form your dad wanted” Han stated. “He is inside. You can put your clothes there and then you can help us work on dinner stuff.” Nicky said as he was setting up the cheese shredder for Sammy and X to use. “Mr. Kevin, we have those forms you wanted.” The boys said as they entered the house. “Ok boys, please put them on the counter there. Let me wash my hands, and then I can check them over. You can set your clothes over in the family room, and then please wash your face and hands, then meet me at the table.” “I want to give you a few of the basic rules. On the back of the bedroom doors upstairs are the rules of the house. I would like you both to read them later tonight or in the morning. Basically, the rules are simple. Treat others how you want them to treat you. No teasing or bullying allowed. I treat you how you act. If you need a hug or to snuggle or cuddle, just ask. Lots of big boys need that and are afraid to ask for it because they think they are too old. You’re not too old, and if you feel you need that kind of closeness, then you clearly need it to help you grow and be the best person you can be. I don’t judge anyone. I don’t care if you are straight, gay, bi, or confused. In this house, you are free to be who you are. If you see one of the boys with a bottle, sippy cup, pacifier, or such, and you would like one, just ask. You will not be teased about it. Punishments fit the crime. When the boys have friends over, if the friend gets in trouble, whomever their friend is, be it Nicky, X, or Sammy, will get punished too for their friend breaking the rules. Is that a deal?” Both boys said yes, and then shook hands with Kevin and gave him their word, and a pinky promise. “Boys, the plan is after dinner is done, that you all need to get cleaned up, as you still have dirt all over, especially on your legs and such. A proper shower or bath, and then we will put in a movie, and you can all snuggle up and watch a movie in the family room. I think for tonight it will be best if you all sleep in the family room. Sammy, because he is the youngest, might sleep upstairs, if he wants to, but it’s his choice. If anyone has nightmares or any problems thru the night, my room is right over there, and you can come wake me up for anything you need.” “Really, you won’t be mad if we wake you up. If I woke up my father or went into his room, he would tan my behind.” “My boys know if they need something they can come get me anytime, even if I am asleep. When you are staying here, you are one of my boys, as far as I am concerned, so the rules apply to you as well. I don’t allow snooping in my room, as we all like to have our privacy, but if your wake up and need to be changed, had a nightmare, or need to be held or anything else, come get me.” Kevin could tell that both boys were struggling with the kind of love and trust Kevin was showing them. He figured the best way to show them he was sincere and honest, was to give them a hug. He pushed his chair out, and opened his arms, in the universal hug style. It only took Tanner a few seconds to get out of his chair and hug Kevin. Han quickly joined in. Tanner started to cry. He had not felt so loved and wanted since his mom died. Kevin held both boys for several minutes. Once they were ready, he sent them out to help the other boys with the fixings so he could finish the dinner. Han offered to stay in and help Kevin in the kitchen. He said he wanted to learn how to cook, and maybe he could learn stuff by helping Kevin. This was only part of the reason, but it was all he was comfortable saying now. Tanner went to help the boys outside, while Han helped Kevin in the kitchen. It was make-your-own Burritos, so Kevin was about to brown some hamburger when the boys showed up. He showed Han how to cook the hamburger and what he likes to use to season it as it cooks. He even showed him his trick, to add some lime juice, to help keep it moist and tender and add a bit of zing to the meat. Kevin also explained the advantages of using black beans over refried. Because he only had 1 can of black beans, he mixed in a can of pintos and then added some green salsa and lime juice to add flavor to them, without making them spicy. The last part was warming up the tortillas, so they are pliable and easier to fill and hold. Once it was all done, Han took the plates and silverware out to the table so he and the boys could set the table. Nicky came in to get a pitcher of juice, while Sammy got salsa and sour cream. Kevin brought the rest of the dinner out and set it on the table. Dinner was a big hit. Once it was done, cleaned up, and everything taken inside, Kevin announced that the boys needed to get cleaned up. He suggested they take quick showers, and suggested they take them in groups of 2. Sammy asked if he could take a bath instead and Kevin offered him his soaker tub. Over the next 30 minutes, the boys got cleaned up. Nicky suggested he and Han shower together while X and Tanner shower together. They agreed, and Nicky and Han got in the shower first. It was a challenge for Nicky to not play with himself or Han while in the shower, but instead, he washed Han’s back and hair and then had Han do the same for him. It was very relaxing for Han. When they got out, dried off, and wrapped in towels, they called X and Tanner to hop in the shower. Kevin heard them and came up the stairs with Han’s backpack, and Sammy in tow. Then he applied some powder and taped up the very soft and thick diaper. It was a challenge to point Han’s stiffy down, but Kevin was able to do it, and then secure the diaper in place.
