Boy From The Shed - Chapter 10

Thursday morning followed their normal routine, breakfast, bath and
school. Leo spent the day out on various sites and mike did his normal
shift at the hospital. The boys were finding that people weren't teasing
them any more at school now they both had new school uniforms. One of the
teachers had also noticed and told both boys that they looked good in their
new uniforms, Jacob told the teacher that his daddy had bought him the new
uniform and given Tanner some as well. The teacher said his daddy must be
very nice and Jacob told her he was the best daddy in the world, to which
Tanner agreed.

Both boys found that now they were not being teased they could concentrate
more on work and they were both improving. Doing their homework together
was also helping and their teacher was pleased with the improvements.

After school Jacob and Tanner did the homework they had at the table while
Leo prepared the dinner, Leo's thoughts though were on the talk they would
be having with Tanners mom Helen. Soon enough mike got home and Helen
arrived shortly afterwards. They sat down to eat discussing their
respective days and enjoying each others company. Both mike and Leo liked
Helen, she was not like Jacobs mum, Susan. She was friendly and outgoing,
but had given birth to Tanner when she was 16 years old and felt she had
missed out on her teen years. She never held this against Tanner, but she
did palm him off to people she trusted so she could go out and party,
trying to live the teen life she lost.

After dinner the boys were sent of to the lounge to play on the Wii, while
the adults talked in the dinning room.

"I've never seen Tanner look so happy" Helen spoke

"well I think a lot of that is because of how close he is to Jacob" Leo
suggested

"maybe, but it's also because of how close he is to you two, especially you
Leo"

"well we try to treat him the same as Jacob, with him being mikes son now,
Tanner is also being treated like a son too" Leo said cautiously

"and I can see how much that means to him, that's why I think he's better
off here with you, if you are willing"

"we are more than willing, as much as we love Jacob, we also love
Tanner. He's crept into our hearts and quickly become part of our family
too" Mike said

"but he's also your family Helen and he needs you too. So yes we want him
to stay with us, but we also want you and him to have your time as well"
Leo added

"well how about if he stays with me a few nights a week and the rest of the
time he lives with you" Helen asked

After much discussion they agreed on one or two nights a week, for Tanner
to stay at his mom's, they would split his toys and stuff between the two
houses and the daddies would get Tanner some new clothes as well. Taking
Tanner on holiday was also agreed, as was Helen spending Christmas day with
mike, Leo and the boys. Mike explained how he had become Jacobs legal
father and suggested that they at least have a loco parentis document in
case of emergency's and maybe in the future find a better way to protect
Tanner like they had done with Jacob.

Helen was agreeable with doing the same thing with Tanners birth
certificate in a few months if Tanner was still happy living with
them. Mike and Leo agreed and everything was settled.  The adults went and
explained it all to the boys, who were elated and hugged and kissed
everyone. They all watched a movie together with Tanner sat between his mom
and Leo. Jacob sat on mike and snuggled in. Tanner eventually ended up in
Leo's lap and was wrapped up in loving arms.

"if you were strait and showed me that much love, I'd never want to leave
either" Helen joked

"I'm sure there's a strait guy out there somewhere for you, you just need

Leo held his arm out and after Helen thought for a moment or two she leaned

living in the right place for him. Mike observed from the other sofa and
knew Helen would also be a part of theirs lives now, even if she didn't
live with them. After a long day both boys fell asleep on their dads and
had to be carried up to bed. Helen went upstairs with them so mike and Leo

and tucked them into the double bed in the boys room. Helen smiled at the

After school on Friday Leo took Tanner and Jacob to Primark to get them

this would create wonderful memories for the boys and help them move on
from some of their past bad memories, more so for Jacob. On the way home
they picked up some Chinese takeaway, this would be a new experience for
the boys but Leo was sure they would like it and it was getting towards
dinner time.

Mike got home before Leo and the boys and laid out the table for dinner,
they ate as soon as they got home. Jacob was amazed at the flavours in the
food, his bland diet of his past life had not prepared him for food with
intense flavours and he enjoyed everything he ate. Tanner to enjoyed all
the food he was used to a better selection of food but still the Chinese
food was mouth watering and both boys ate in silence apart from the odd
"wow" and "ummm that's good".

After dinner the realisation that they were going to Chessington world of
adventures started to set in. the excitement in the boys rose up. Mike and
Leo tried to settle the boys down with a movie.

"go get changed for bed and bring your washing down, then we'll watch a
movie" Leo told the boys

Once they were gone Mike said to Leo

"bet they come down naked again"

"almost guaranteed" Leo laughed and as expected moments later the boys
returned arms full of washing and very naked.

"go put your stuff in the washing machine and set it off" Leo told them.

Leo watched the boys load and set the machine off, but didn't help

getting clothes and uniform ready for tomorrow. Soon there was a knock on

Susan, Jacobs mum, and she looked rough. She had obviously been crying and

"can you come next door....please" asked Susan

Leo had already heard as he had come to see who was at the door, he told
Mike to go and went back to making the dinner, while very concerned as to
Susan's upset state. He wondered if she had changed her mind about Jacob
staying with them or perhaps she was ill. What ever it was he was
worried. The boys came back downstairs with boxers and t-shirts on, in case
they had visitors. Leo explained that it was Jacobs mum and Mike had gone
to talk to her next door.

The boys seemed unconcerned so went back to play on the Wii. After half an
hour Mike returned and looked shell shocked. Immediately Leo became very
worried, the boys were also now interested in whatever was going on, so
Mike had everyone sit down in the lounge so he could explain. He pulled
Jacob on to his lap and looked him in the eyes, seeing this worried Leo
even more, he could tell whatever was going on was serious and inside he
was starting to panic.

"Jacob... your mum is pregnant, she's going to have another baby, your
going to have another brother or sister"

Jacob was stunned as was everyone else, he thought for a while then spoke,

"why is she pregnant if she didn't even want me?"

"it was an unplanned pregnancy.... an accident"

"like me then?"

"so what's she going to do?" Jacob asked

"well that's what I need to talk to you about... Leo I'm sorry I should
have talked to you first...."

"it's OK love... I think I know where this is going and we'll make it

"Jacob the baby is due in 3 months and when the baby is born, the baby will
come and live with us too"

Jacob pondered this for a moment then rushed over to Tanner and screamed

"we're going to have another brother or sister tanner" then hugged his
brother. Leo got up and went over to hug Mike.

"don't worry Mike you did the right thing, we'll make it work"

"thanks... I didn't know what to do when she told me, but the baby is
Jacobs sibling and I couldn't do nothing"

"i understand, I'd have done the same"

"i know you would... but I'm supposed to be the sensible one" Mike joked
lighting the mood

"you are Mike, that's why you made the right decision"

Mike and Leo kissed and then were pounced on by the boys giving them hugs
and kisses. After both boys had calmed down they went and ate their dinner
while talking about the baby. To start with they decided to put a cot in
the master bedroom to start with then make Leo's office into a nursery. Leo
would have to have a new office but could build himself one in the
garden. They talked about getting a self build log cabin and Leo suggested
the boys could help him build it. The boys loved the idea of building the
cabin, so it was settled.

There was lots of things to sort out but at least they had 3 months to do
it. Leo suggested that Mike should be the official father since he was
Jacobs, mike asked if he was sure and then agreed. Mike also agreed to
teach Leo and the boys about baby care since he was a nurse and Leo was
home the most. After dinner all 4 were excited about the new arrival, yes
it was going to be hard work and really disrupt their lives, but it would
be worth it.

They again decided to watch a movie before bed, once the boys had ensconced
themselves with a dad each they enjoyed the film. Each boy was lovingly
held with gentle touches and caresses, then carried up to bed. They all
shared the master bedroom and the boys took their places between their
daddies after being undressed. When all four were naked they snuggled up
together and fell asleep.
