Cadence Part 23 Nathan stayed over for a couple of hours, until Cade reluctantly reminded him that he and Jordan hadn't done their homework yet for the weekend. Nathan offered to hang out while they started in on their homework, but that lasted about 20 minutes of the three of them continuing to goof off even after the books came out. Finally Nathan admitted that he needed to go so the two brothers could concentrate. It was around seven when Duncan called. He wanted to find out how the date went, and about the weekend in general. Cade told him some of how things went at the mall, at the movies, and even the annoyance about the mall's "unaccompanied youth" policy incident with the security guards. With each topic, Duncan listened, but then tried to dig for details about how things had specifically gone with James. "Dude," said Cade eventually. "You said you were cool with me seeing him. Now you want every detail like you're jealous." "No, I meant it when I said-" "Or maybe," Cade interrupted, "like you wish you had been watching!" "Maybe a little too on the nose," laughed Duncan. "Sorry," said Cade, trying to decide how to take that. "I'm coming over tomorrow night," said Duncan. "What do you guys want for dinner?" "Hold on, I'll ask Jordan." "He's just going to say MacDonald's." Cade laughed. "You know him so well." "Fine. I'll be there a little early, probably closer to 6, and I'll take you guys out to MacDonald's." "Alright," said Cade. "We'll see you at 7." He was only half joking, and they both knew it. "Alright, smartass. I'm trying here. Do you want dinner or not?" Now there was a question. Dinner out was a treat, even after an action packed weekend like this one had been. But Duncan taking them out also meant sex with Duncan, whether he was in the mood for it or not. On the one hand, the weekend with James had been amazing. He had enjoyed every minute of it. But the downside was, it had opened a Pandora's box of feelings in Cade. He had seen what things could be if he was normal, with normal responsibilities, and a normal sexual relationship with a normal boyfriend. Too bad he really had no choice about his situation. "You still there?" Duncan's voice broke Cade out of his reverie. "Yeah, sorry," said Cade, still a bit distracted. "Yes, we'll be ready for dinner tomorrow. Thanks, Duncan." "Good to hear. I thought for a minute there that I had been replaced." "Do you want to talk to Jordan?" asked Cade, ignoring the implications of that comment. "Sure. Put him on." Cade called his brother to the phone and then went back to his homework. His emotions were on a serious roller coaster at the moment. In theory, he could have the best of both worlds. There was nothing at all, supposedly, stopping him from dating James while still doing enough with Duncan to keep him taking care of them. Cade wished he had someone neutral about all this that he could talk to, to keep him thinking clearly. Jordan was too young to really get the enormity of the full situation. For him it was all black and white, and he seemed to want to dive in and help. The only other person who knew, Nathan, also saw it as a black and white issue. Unfortunately he saw it as exclusively bad. Cade knew that if Nathan had his way, Duncan would be out the door immediately, and let the cards fall as they may. For the first time in a long while, Cade was starting to feel like things were a bit over his head. Sometimes change sucked, even good change. As promised, Cade had barely been sitting down in the library for five minutes into his lunch period when James slid into the seat next to him. "Are you even going to pass whatever class you are skipping all the time to sneak in here?" Cade whispered with a laugh. "Worth it," James grinned. "For you, totally worth it." Cade blushed a bit. Then he squeaked and his blush redoubled as James shoved his hand down the back of his pants. "So when do I get a piece of this again?" James asked with an evil grin. "Sto-op," pleaded Cade, desperately trying to see if they were attracting any attention. "You are going to get me thrown out of the library. Ms. Finch only lets me come in here for lunch because," he punctuated each of his next words with a slap to James' arm, "I -- don't -- cause -- trouble!" "Alright, alright," said James, quietly laughing and withdrawing his hand. "What are you doing tomorrow afternoon?" "I don't know," whispered Cade. "Homework. Watching Jordan. The usual." "Can you stay after school for like, 20 minutes?" "No!" squealed Cade. "I take the bus, and I have to be home for my brother." "So your parents aren't home when you guys get home from school?" James said excitedly. Cade knew exactly what the older boy was thinking, and said so. "I know what you have in mind, and I don't think that would be a good idea." "Aww. We could have fun in your room before your parents get home," James said, wiggling his eyebrows teasingly. "Uncle," said Cade quietly. "Huh?" "Before my uncle gets home. We live with our uncle. Not our parents." "Oh," said James, taken aback. "I'm sure there's a story there, and why you are just now mentioning that." "You never asked. And until we were serious, it wasn't your business." "Fair. I was going to say that there's a story there, but you can decide when you are ever ready to tell me any of it," said James in a serious tone. Then he grinned and said, "So we are serious now?" Cade grinned back. "After Saturday night, are you saying we're not?" "Period," responded James, causing Cade to wince inside. "So tomorrow, can you stay over? Please?" "I said-" "I'll drive you home," James interrupted. "The bus is probably so slow, you'll barely be late getting home." "I really shouldn't," Cade said. "Jordan needs me home." "The smurf can survive ten extra minutes without you, I'm sure." Before Cade could object to the nickname being used yet again, James leaned over and laid his head on Cade's shoulder, the older boy burying his face in Cade's neck. He started ticklishly kissing his neck as he whispered, "Please, please, please, please," with each peck of his lips. Cade giggled, probably too loudly. He dislodged James from his shoulder as he popped up to look over the cubicle divider, checking to see if they were drawing attention. Seeing no one, he sat back down. "Really?" he asked. "Is it really that important to you?" James nodded, "Please? For me?" Cade knew he was giving in. He really wanted to see more of this awesome walking wet dream. He wanted to give James anything he wanted. But Jordan. Jordan was more important than anything Cade might want for himself. But here, now, James was being so cute and adorable that he really wanted to say yes to anything that would make his new boyfriend happy. And Cade knew himself. If he said yes, he would be locked into his promise. But he also couldn't bring himself to say no to James. "Let me talk to Jordan. Can I give you my answer in the morning?" Cade could see the look of disappointment, perhaps it was frustration, on James' face. Surely it wasn't a look of annoyance that flashed through the older boy's eyes. "I love you, Cade. I just want to see you again." "I know. I'm sorry. I really want to be with you again as well. Please don't be mad at me." "I'm not mad," said James. For a moment, he seemed sad. But immediately he perked right up, grinning. "Clear it with the smurf, and I'll make sure it is well worth your time." "Hey," said Cade with a halfhearted smack to the arm. "You promised to quit that." "Sorry," said James with a teasing grin. "I'll drop it if you'll meet me tomorrow." "You're that desperate to see me again." "You have no idea how much I want to kiss you again." Cade dropped his voice to a whisper. "Or to fuck me again." James laughed. "That too!" "So Jor-bear, how was school?" Cade asked as he and his brother were settling in at home right after school. "It was good. Two pop quizzes and a test, but I was on top of them." Cade looked up from where he had been spreading out his notebooks. "Damn, two quizzes AND a test, and it was a good day? That deserves a hug!" Jordan giggled and happily accepted a hug squeeze. "And how terrible was your day?" "Oh, just the worst," Cade replied with a laugh. As he went back to sorting out what to work on first, he said, "So Jordan, I need to ask about a possible favor." "Yes!" Cade laughed. "You don't even know what I-" "Doesn't matter," Jordan said, trying to act serious. "You need a favor, the answer is yes." "What if it's painful?" "Doesn't matter." "What if it means risking alien abduction?" Jordan laughed. "Well in that case," he paused for a half a second, "Yes!" "Well then," smiled Cade. "I appreciate it. It's nothing that big." Cade knew his brother was looking at him expectantly, but kept his gaze averted, hoping to not betray any embarrassment. "James asked if I could stay a little late after school tomorrow to help him with something." "How long extra would I be home before you got here?" Cade could hear a subtle layer of worry in Jordan's voice. "I could probably be okay for an extra hour or two." "No," interjected Cade quickly. "Probably more like an extra 20 minutes or something. And then he is going to drive me home." "Oh!" piped up Jordan. "That's easy!" "I love ya, bud. I was positive I could count on you." They didn't even get their homework finished before they heard Duncan come in the front door. Cade checked the time and saw that it wasn't even 5:30 yet. He was impressed. After hanging out and Jordan being completely distracted from his homework, they finally did go out to dinner. Duncan suggested the possibility of a different restaurant, but seemed perfectly fine when Jordan mentioned MacDonald's again. At one point, Cade got up to go to the restroom, and when he returned to their booth, Jordan piped up excitedly. "Guess what, Cade! Duncan says he's going to work from home tomorrow, so he'll already be there when I get home from school." This seemed to thrill Jordan, since he often felt left out of time with Duncan. But then he took the conversation just that little piece too far. "That means you can hang out with James after school tomorrow as long as you want without worrying about me!" Cade had the impulsive thought that sometimes he wanted to slap the innocence out of Jordan. Not physically of course. But he flipped his gaze quickly in Duncan's direction, and saw a flash of... interest, curiosity, deviousness. Something there that Cade would have to address later, when they were alone. Not too many hours later, Duncan had seen Jordan off to bed, then had taken Cade to bed together. Cade had been thoroughly railed and his tender ass was leaking two of Duncan's loads. Afterward they spooned together, but instead of drifting off to sleep, the older man struck up a conversation. "Sounds like you had a fun weekend, if he wants to see you again so soon." "It isn't like that," said Cade. Then after a pause, he added, "I don't think it is." He honestly didn't know if he was lying to Duncan, or to himself. "So about that little favor you asked for," Duncan said cagily. "Favor?" "I scared the shit out of a bully for you," reminded Duncan. "Remember? Because I sure do." "Oh yeah," muttered Cade. He hadn't forgotten, but he had hoped that maybe Duncan had. "So I'm thinking Christmas break, why don't we do something fun with it?" "Something fun?" "Yeah, maybe go away for a couple of days?" "Yeah, right," moaned Cade. "What about Jordan?" "Ugh. You're killing me here, bud," grumbled Duncan. "You really think he's sitting around here blind to what's going on with us?" The older man hugged Cade against his chest, then said, "Park him on the couch or over at your friend's house for a few days." "Easier said than done. You know he always feels like he is being left out of things as it is." "Your choice, not mine." Cade gripped onto the man's arm and asked the question he wasn't sure he wanted an answer to. "Is that what you want? What you are hoping for?" The chest Cade was spooned with shuddered as Duncan chuckled; a deep, aggressive sound. "He is cute, that is true. I mean, he knows exactly what's going on." There was a pause, as if for emphasis. "And while he is younger than you were, he's also bigger than you were." "You're not helping your case here," Cade sulked. "You want out?" "Of that favor?" Cade knew that wasn't what Duncan meant. "Of this arrangement," Duncan whispered, kissing the back of the boy's neck. And there it was. Everything Cade had been thinking about the day before. With James. With Jordan. With everything. Was there another way? Was Nathan right, and Cade needed to extricate himself? But if he did, what would happen to Jordan? What would happen to the house? Would he, Cade, go to jail or something, considering how illegal all of this was? Would Duncan even seriously let him go? Then another thought bubbled to the surface, something that his subconscious had probably been worrying about. "Are you wanting out?" he asked Duncan. "What's been up with all the extra spending and presents lately?" Duncan laughed, more goodnaturedly this time. "Dude, you worry too much. I got bumped up with a new promotion that came with an office and a pay raise. I just decided to share the good fortune." "Oh. Okay." "I'm serious about maybe going away for a day or two though." Duncan groped the smaller boy's not-so-small genitals. "It could be pretty sexy." "I'll think about it." "You made some pretty heavy promises." Cade could hear the excitement in the man's voice. "The more you cooperate, the more say you can have in what we do." Before Cade could add anything else to the topic, the man-size fingers started digging into his tender hole, stretching it back over and working in and out until he was slick and open from the man's earlier loads. Soon enough, Cade was finding himself stretched and filled yet again. The boy had already cum and was tired. Sure, his cock responded to the physical stimulation, both from the sheets on his cock head, but also from the renewed pounding his prostate was receiving, but it was only physical pleasure. His heart and emotions weren't in it. He thought about James thrusting into him from above. Now that got his heart moving. After another fifteen minutes, they both managed another climax apiece and were able to finally go to sleep. The next day, Cade was able to slip into the office right before third period and pass a note to James as he came in to do his office assistant work and still make it to math class. It was totally unnecessary, because predictably, Cade hadn't been in the library on lunch for more than ten minutes before James slipped into the seat beside him. "I can't stay long. I'm just out on a bathroom pass." "Good," said Cade with a laugh, "because you need to actually be in class for once, and I," he smacked the older boy playfully in the chest, "need to study." "Meet me at your locker after last class, alright?" He had obviously read Cade's note saying he could stay late, as long as he also got a ride home after. "What do you have in mind?" James ignored this, asking instead, "How long do you think you can stay?" Surprised, Cade answered, "I thought you said twenty minutes?" Laughing, James said, "I suppose we can rush!" The older boy slipped away, but not without diving in and nibbling on Cade's ear, giving him a sexy growl. Frustration, anticipation, and all sorts of other emotions were passed on in that playful act. Cade was left visibly shaken, his cock painfully hard and straining in his briefs. He wasn't fooling himself. He knew exactly what James wanted from him, and what they would be up to after school. If he was honest, Cade's backside was a bit worn out. James had given him a good ride Saturday night and again Sunday morning. Then he'd gotten a single night to recover, before Duncan had given his ass an extreme workout. Cade would have given anything for some good oral play, but Duncan had worked him for three loads. Three! He couldn't remember the last time the man had been so worked up with him. And now it was time to see what James had in mind. It may be for after school and not during school hours, but it was still at school, right? They couldn't get up to too much. Right? * * * * So this is a first. You guys are getting my first Afterward on one of my stories. First, I want to say that I really appreciate those of you who have emailed me. I love hearing from readers, discussing their theories on what is going on, and getting other reading recommendations. Keep the emails coming, and don't be shy, those of you who haven't written yet. There are a few things I would like to address. Don't worry, there's no bad news here. First, I'm sure some have you noticed that I disappeared off Nifty for a while. There was around a six month gap where I wasn't posting for either Cadence or Welcome to Avernus. Sorry about that. I had a pretty big health issue, and had to deal with the "real world" for a bit. Won't happen again. Haha. But now I'm back, and am alternating between Cadence here, and Welcome to Avernus, also in the Adult/youth section (as well as the science fiction and fantasy). Second, to the (tiny) bad news. In addition to getting back to writing regularly for you here on Nifty, I am also getting back to my full time professional writing. That's right! I'm in the middle of my third novel of a four book series. This means that while I will still be putting out new chapters, it's not going to be one a week on both stories. Instead, it will be more like one chapter to one of the nifty stories about every other week. Probably in the neighborhood of 2-3 Nifty chapters a month, although my overly hopeful goal would be one Nifty chapter posted each week, if possible. It will depend on what kind of a schedule I can manage to keep up with, without detracting too much from the main project. On a final note, I have made two excellent friends that started out as Nifty readers who emailed me often enough that we started communicating through instant messaging. One of those wonderful individuals is Johnny Kape, another author and dedicated reader here on Nifty. He has helped me through some rough patches in the last several months, and I can't thank him enough. And now YOU have a reason to thank him! I wrote the first 1500 words of this chapter yesterday, about the first half. And somehow, my computer decided to corrupt the saved file. I thought it was scrapped and would need to be rewritten, but he took a look at the file, figured out the issue, and sent me back the uncorrupted version. So thank you, Johnny, for saving this chapter of Cadence! So that's it until the next chapter! Thanks, everyone. Please email. I love every person who has written thus far. I love hearing everyone's theories on what is up with all the different characters. Let me hear some more. PS... For those of you who were fans of A Ghost Finds a Body over in the High School section, I FINALLY figured out a storyline that I like the sound of for that story. As soon as I wrap up Cadence, I am going to go back over and get back into it. So good news all around! Greyson B.
