Jeff Falling in Love at Christmas Chapter 3 The Walk Home Harrison returns to the fire station. He knocks off the snow from his hat and jacket. He walks through the main hanger of the fire station checking on the truck and supplies. He tries to distract himself from the events of the evening, but the comments from his mother still stays with him; he was afraid this was going to happen when word got out that Luke was returning to Walker Hills. While Harrison looks over the equipment, Kelly walks into the main hanger; she was about to check on the equipment. She's surprised to see Harrison back already. "Hey Harrison. I didn't think you would be back this soon. Did you have a good time?" "I guess," he says. "It wasn't anything special." "How was Luke?" she asks. "He was fine," he says. "It was basically a setup from my mother." Kelly begins to assist him. "She cares about you. She wants to make sure you find someone to love." "I understand that, but just because he's gay like me doesn't mean we're going to make a connection." He continues his job to checking on everything. "How's everything going tonight? Have there been any problems?" "No problems yet," she says. "The only challenges I've had is keeping Brian and Jill off each other." Harrison shakes his head in frustration. "I knew I shouldn't have asked them to work tonight. They're hornier than rabbits; they make the rabbits blush." Brian and Jill come running out of the living area of the fire station in their underwear. When Waverly Hills decided to build the fire station, they wanted to have everything. They didn't just want a hanger for the truck, but they wanted an office, living area, and kitchen as well as the hanger. Brian is wearing his white briefs showing off his tone physique, and Jill is wearing her bra and panties. They run away horse playing when they run into Harrison and Kelly. Kelly runs into the Brian and hides behind him. "Harrison, we didn't realize you were going to be back so soon," says Brian. "Kelly, we thought you went home," says Jill. Harrison just looks at them shaking his head, but isn't surprised. "You two do realize that is not standard clothing for our fire department." Harrison looks down and sees Brian's bulge in his briefs. "I see Brian has been enjoying himself." Brian looks down and places his hands over his bulge turning red. "It's okay Brian, I know you're straight." "How was your evening?" asks Brain. "It was fine I guess, nothing exciting to report." Kelly looks around and finds a fire blanket on the shelf, so she grabs it and covers herself. She comes out from behind Brian while slapping him on his ass. "How was Luke? I heard he's hot." Brian looks at her annoyed over her comment. "He doesn't look bad," says Harrison. "Well, we were hoping you two would hit it off," says Brian. He looks at all three of them. "How many people were a part of this plot?" They look at each not sure how to answer that question, which gives Harrison all the answers he needs. "Harrison, it's not that we're trying to interfere with your life, but we just want you to be happy," says Kelly. "There aren't many gay men in Walker Hills, and you and Luke have a good friendship." "We're not the same people," says Harrison. "I think you should walk up to Luke and give him a big passionate kiss on the mouth," says Brian. "Excuse me!" Everyone looks to find Luke standing there holding the coffee thermos. "Hey Luke," says Harrison. He walks up to him and takes the thermos. "Your mom asked me to bring this to you," says Luke. "Thank you," he says. Luke looks around and greets everyone and notices the lack of clothing on Brian and Jill. "Is that the new uniform or is the city hurting for money?" "They were goofing off and got caught," says Harrison. Luke looks down and notices Brian bulge also. "Well, Brian was certainly having some fun or are you just excited to see me?" Brian places his hand over his crotch shaking his head. "You know Brian, you better be careful; you can get frost bite on that thing." "Are you on your way home?" asks Harrison. "Yes," he says. "It's been a late evening, and I'm still tired from the trip. I thought I would enjoy the decorations tonight." "Be careful," says Kelly. "The snow is coming down harder." "I have an idea," says Brian. "Harrison, why don't you walk him home?" Harrison is not happy with Brian. "I'm serious. We need to make sure nothing happens to him." "That's okay," says Luke. "I think I can manage." "I don't mind," says Harrison. "It wouldn't hurt for me to get some fresh air." Harrison and Luke exit the fire station. The snow comes down a little harder and more. The town is beautifully decorated, and they get to enjoy it tonight. "Harrison, I don't want to upset you, but it seemed like your mom was trying to set us up tonight," says Luke. "She was," he says. "I'm gay Luke. I came out in my twenties." Luke is surprised to hear that news. "What? Aunt Lisa didn't tell me you were gay." "Well, I didn't really want it to be an issue, and you weren't here." "Would you mind telling me about it?" asks Luke. They continue to walk through the town enjoying the decorations. Harrison uses this time to update him on his life. Harrison came out in his mid-twenties. He and Kelly were dating, but he would never commit, so everyone along with Kelly was getting frustrated. Harrison couldn't hide from his feelings anymore and told everyone he was gay. Kelly and his family took it the hardest, but soon accepted it and started to help him find a boyfriend. "You're Aunt Lisa was a strong supporter of my decision, and she helped the community accept me. She was a big part of helping my family too." Luke smiles. "Aunt Lisa was always good at that stuff. She never liked it when families were fighting. So does that mean you and I are the only two gay men in town?" "That's correct," he says. "That's why they've been trying to set us up. They heard you were returning to town, and they were hoping I could find love with you." "Have you been with many guys?" "I've been on a few dates, but nothing serious. Most guys don't want to move here." "Are you still a virgin?" asks Luke. "I haven't been a virgin since high school, but I haven't been intimate with a guy." Luke doesn't really pressure him, but he's pleasantly surprised about his announcement. He thinks about all the times in their past when they had several opportunities to play around, but he always thought Harrison was 100% straight. They continue to enjoy the cool scenery in town. They spend the evening talking and sharing parts of their lives. Luke opens up and tells him the pain with Trent and their breakup. He felt that he wasted his time with him, and he doesn't know if he's ready to love again while Harrison tells him he doesn't even know if he'll ever find love. They finally arrive at Walker Hills Bed and Breakfast. They stand there looking at each other for a moment trying to find the words to say. "Well, Harrison, thank you for keeping me safe tonight," says Luke. "I really enjoyed the time tonight." "I did too, Luke," says Harrison. "I hope you have a good night." He turns around and begins to walk away. Luke tries to say something, but he can't think of anything to say, but he stops and turns back around. "Oh, by the way, I just wanted to let you know that your guests will be coming in tomorrow." Luke is completely confused and surprised. "What guests?" "You have guests coming in tomorrow." "I don't know what to do," he says. Harrison smiles. "Don't worry, you'll figure it out." He turns around and disappears into the snow. Luke walks into the Bed and Breakfast not sure what to do about his guests. He walks into his bedroom and starts to undress when he notices a package on his dresser. He opens it; it's a journal with Aunt Lisa's name on it. He climbs into bed reading the journal. He reads the journal until he falls asleep.
