Authors Note

Hey All,

I hope you have all had a great Thanksgiving, and that you and your family is safe and healthy. I am kind of curious on whether you have some kind of holiday like Thanksgiving where you live and if not, if you celebrate this time of year before Christmas under a different name. I was just wondering if you would share that with me. The website allows me to see that I have readers from all over the world, and that is really exciting for me. I look forward to your emails

Please stay safe and keep writing to me, let me know how it is going. We are all Crossman now, so make sure that you are helping those that need it, and don't be afraid to ask for it when you need it.

Love ya all,

Brian

I was supposed to spend the weekend with Ma and Pa, but they had another commitment. They had some friends getting married in Lake Town. They invited me to go along but said that if I didn't want to, that I could stay at Owen's house. Now don't get me wrong, I love Ma and Pa, but given the choice of dressing up for a wedding for people I didn't know or hanging out naked at Owen's house, I chose Owen's house. Don't give me any grief about how I should have gone with Ma and Pa either. Think back to when you were nine. Would you have chosen the wedding? I thought not.

The weekend was amazing. On Saturday Timmy, Bill, Joey, and his sister Jen all came over to Owen's house. We wanted to play outside, but it was raining all day. So, we stayed in and played cards and Monopoly. I can't believe how much my life has changed in two months. I never thought I would ever be this happy or have so many friends.

At four, Owen's dad had us help him set up a card table in the garage. It was round and we attached trays that hung over the edges and were curved to circle the table. Mr. Jackson told us that it was designed to hold poker chips and drinks.

He called us all into the family room and said, "Here is what is going to be happening tonight. Timmy, Joey, Jen, and Bill your dads are coming over tonight for the game along with Timmy's brother Toby, and Mr. Price. It will be the responsibility of you seven to make sure that everyone has everything that they need tonight. That includes drinks, food, and because we may not want to get up, it will be on you to make sure that no messes happens on my new carpet."

All the boys smiled, Jen nodded her head, but Amanda had no idea what we were talking about.

Mr. Jackson also said, "Because it is going to be late when the game ends, some of you may already be asleep. Therefore you have the option of staying here for the night or going home." Everyone agreed we wanted a sleep over.

When Mr. Jackson went out to the garage to finish setting up, Timmy asked the group, "Are we were going to play the merry go round game?"

Bill, Joey, and Jan were all nodding their heads while me, Amanda, and Owen were all asking what that was. Timmy said, "Well, once the men are settled we get under the table and you get sixty seconds to make your man cum. If you don't get him to cum in sixty seconds you move on to the next man. If you get him to cum, you move out from under the table and that man is also out. We keep doing that until the last man cums, and that boy becomes the potty boy."

"Oh, I get it now, but there are only going to be six of them and seven of us." I said.

"Yeah, that sucks, but that means that one of us is the timekeeper." Said Timmy

Bill said while shuffling a deck of cards, "So, we pick a card. The lowest card is the timekeeper." He spread out the cards face down and we all picked one.

Joey got the two of hearts, "Gosh darn it, I wanted to play." He said pretty upset.

I put my hand on his back and said, "It's ok Joey, I will play the timekeeper, I don't mind."

"Thanks Brian, but I lost fair and square, so I have to do it, that's the rules."

"Are you sure, I really don't mind."

"Brian, let it go. He lost and we all agreed that the lowest card is the timekeeper. That is the way it works here."

"Ok, I was just trying to help out a friend." I said.

"Thanks Brian, but Timmy is right. I may not like it, but I lost, and I am the timekeeper."

"Ok, now that that problem is settled, we have another problem." Said Owen.

"What's that?" Asked Bill.

"Amanda will have no problem being under the table, but if she loses, she won't be able to handle that particular job. She has never had to do that before." Owen said.

"I can do anything you can do little brother."

Owen just started laughing, "Do you even know what we are talking about?"

"Of course I ..." Giggling, "No, I guess I don't."

"So the loser stays under the table and is the potty boy or girl."

I could tell when she figured it out, because her smiling face turned to a gross face in a split second, and Owen fell over laughing.

"That's gross, you don't really do that do you?"

"Jen put her arm around Amanda, "You have so much to learn about being a Crossman."

Joey spoke up, "What if we change what happens to the last boy/girl."

"What did you have in mind?" Bill asked.

"Well what if instead of the last one under the table being the potty person, they just can be involved in any other sex tonight. That way Amanda won't have to be a potty person even if she loses?"

Everyone thought that was a great idea, especially Amanda. This turned out to be a good choice since she lost anyway. She couldn't believe that we were all under the table drinking the men's pee.

The rest of the night went great, and the best part was I got mounted by Mr. Price. It still hurt a lot going in, but I orgasmed twice before he did. Sunday we were all dropped off at the school except for the girls.

Everything was going good until Wednesday. You see, Timmy and I were coming out of gym class when something caught my eye by the front gate. If you remember, this was where Timmy first saw me when I took the train here by myself to try to get into this school.

I was looking at the front gate and was sure I saw a boy leaning up against it. I thought it was weird, because there is a sidewalk that we are not allowed to cross over between here there, and we can get into big trouble for crossing it. I was surprised to find out about it because Timmy crossed it to get to me.

Anyway, I was looking over there when I saw the boy fall. I dropped my backpack and took off running. As soon as Timmy saw me, he started chasing me. I think he was trying to stop me from crossing the sidewalk. By the time he caught up with me he too could see the boy laying there on the ground. Little did we know that Paul also saw us running and was trying to catch us before we got into trouble.

By the time Paul got to us we were leaning over the boy. I almost threw up when I saw his face. His left eye was closed, and all swollen up. He has a big black and blue mark on his jaw, but that is not what was making me sick. What I saw was little red welts all over his arms. I knew what they were right off because I saw them on a boy's arms that came into the church once for protection from his dad, they were cigarette burns.

I started crying and begging, "Paul please help him. We need to get him to medical before whoever did this comes looking for him."

Paul took a second to look him over, "I think his arm is broken. I don't like the way it is looking. Timmy, I am going to lift him, and I want you to try to keep his arm straight until I get him up."

"I can do it Paul." I said wanting to help.

"Sorry Brian, but Timmy is taller, and he will have better control. What I need you to do is run ahead and open doors."

When Paul lifted him, the boy screamed for a second and then passed out. I am thinking that was a good thing. We got him all the way to medical with no issues; since the bell had rung everyone was already in class.

I was the first one through the door yelling, Dr. Jacobs!!! Dr. Jacobs!!!"

He came out of one of the exam rooms, "What is all the noise out h...? What happened?"

Paul said, "I saw these two running for the main gate and tried to chase them down, when they found him lying on the ground there."

"I saw him standing at the main gate and thought it was weird, then I saw him fall. Someone really hurt him Doctor. Those are burns on his arms, I have seen them on another kid that came into our church."

"I am sure his arm is broken Doc. We tried to support it the best we could till we got him here." Paul added.

"You did good boys. Now go to class and I will deal with this young man."

"No." I said.

"Excuse me Brian? Are you sure that is what you meant to say?"

I took a deep breath and said, "Yes Sir. I am not trying to be disrespectful, but I was there when that kid I told you about came in. All the adults were there to help, but it only made it worse. It was adults that hurt him, and he was terrified. I was able to help him calm down and let him know he could trust my dad. The difference between then and now is that the other boy was awake. This boy will be so scared when he wakes up and is surrounded by adults. He needs me to be here for him."

"Ok Brain, point taken. Paul, head back to class; Timmy, go tell the Headmaster what has happened here, then you go to class." Both Timmy and Paul did as they were told and left. The Doctor filled a shot with something and stuck it in the boys hip. "Ok Brian, if you are going to be here then I will need your help."

"You tell me what to do and I will do it."

"That will be a first." He said giving me a look. "We need to get him out of these clothes so that I can see what else is going on. Go over to the drawer left of the sink and get me the scissors out of it."

I went over to the sink and found the scissors. I thought they were weird because they had rounded ends almost like the safety scissors we used to use when I was little, only bigger, and sharper. I walked back to the Doctor and watched as he cut the boys clothes off of him. He had bruises everywhere. When the Doctor cut off his underwear, you could see his butt was a mess of bruises and blisters. His balls were swollen and even his dick looked like it had been whipped.

The Doctor got out his camera and started taking pictures of him from every angle. We turned him over to get pictures of his back, butt, and legs. My heart broke for this boy, how could anyone do such a thing to another human being? It is times like this that I am sure there is no god. How can this being, that everyone thinks is so loving, allow something like this to happen?

We had just turned him over when the Headmaster came rushing in. The boy was still uncovered, and it looked like the Headmaster's head was going to explode. I have never seen anyone's face get that red.

"Ron, what the hell? Timmy told me it was bad, but I have never seen one this bad." That is when he saw me, "Brian, get to class."

I was just about to say something that I would probably regret when the Doctor said, "Leave him be Joe, I need him here."

"Why?"

"Brian made a good point when he said that this kid needs a boy here when he wakes up to explain things. I agree, we don't need to add any more stress to this situation right now. Did you call the Police?"

"Yeah, David is on the way with Nancy from CPS."

"Good, when those two get together and go hunting for these animals, you know someone is going to prison for a long time. I wish Marry was here, I sure could use her help."

I guess both men were looking at me, "Brian, are you sure you will be ok helping me with this? You look like maybe you are not sure."

"That is not what I was thinking about, and I will do whatever you need me to do."

"What were you thinking about Brian?" The Headmaster asked.

"I can't tell you. I am a Crossman, and I should not be thinking this way."

"It is ok Brian; you can tell us. We won't be angry with you."

They asked for it and I let my anger out, "I was just making a wish is all. I was wishing that when the Police get to this guy, he resists arrest, and they have to put him down like the dog that he is."

The Headmaster came over to me and said, "You are right, that is not the way a Crossman should think. However, we are human and looking at the body of a badly beaten child. If the Doctor and I were being honest, we were both wishing the same thing."

"He is right Brian, there is no reason for something like this to ever happen. We see the physical damage that was done to this boy, but that will heal. It is the emotional damage that will follow this boy for the rest of his life."

The Doctor stepped out of the room, and I could not help grabbing the Headmaster and giving him a big hug. "What was that for?"

"Mostly because I feel like we both needed it. Also because I know that there is not a boy in this school that doesn't know you have their backs. Owen's dad told me how you protected him from outsiders when his dad was not there to do it. I came to you and told you my story and you helped me get into this school. Now I have real friends and I don't have to hide from bullies all the time. I know this may be inappropriate, but I love you."

He knelt down and wrapped me in a hug and said, "Not inappropriate at all, I love you too."

The doctor came back into the room wearing medical clothes instead of the suit and tie he always wore. "Joe, I will need your help here." They released the locks on the bed and started moving it to another room. I followed them into a huge room with machines all over it. The Doctor had the Headmaster help him move the boy from the bed he was on to this table.

"What are we doing first Doc?"

"I need to get a picture of that arm so that I can see what it will take to set it. Although the rest of his body is a mess, I don't see anything that would tell me there is an issue other than this bruising here on his chest. I am going to get a picture of that as well. Brian, I need you to step inside that office. Don't touch anything, you will still be able to see what we are doing.

I went into the office and saw all the buttons and monitors. I watched through this thick window. I watched as they turned his arm this way and that way. Then both men came into the office with me and pushed a button. As soon as they were done, they went back out and moved the machine to a different location on his body.

When they were through, the men came in and started looking at a computer monitor. "This is better than I thought it would be. The bone in his arm is not fully broken, just a severe partial fracture. I will be able to cast it up and it will heal on its own. Again, he is lucky in that his Third rib on his left side is cracked, but not broken. I will wrap his chest, but there is nothing to do here but let it heal on its own. It will be hurting for a while."

The men moved the boy back to his bed and pushed him into the room I stayed in while I was laid up here. "I have to get back to the office and file my report. I expect that Dave will be here within the hour."

The Headmaster left and the Doctor taught me how to create a cast. It was kind of cool how it all worked, and it dried faster than I thought it would. We spent the next hour cleaning him up and putting in an IV. The Doctor gave him some more drugs so he would stay asleep.

Brad showed up with a pair of tan shorts and a white shirt. "What are those for?"

"The Headmaster felt like you would be more comfortable out of the robe and in some clothes you can move around in."

Brad reached over and helped me out of my robe and talked to me about the boy while I got dressed. "Thanks for bringing me the clothes."

"No problem brother. That is what I am here for."

The Policeman and the Social Worker came and looked the boy over. They took some pictures of their own as well as taking a flash drive with the pictures the Doctor took before cleaning him up. The Headmaster came back and signed papers for the Social Worker which made FSB his foster home. I could not believe that. I thought for sure that they would take him with them.

Timmy came by at lunch with to-go boxes for both of us from the dining room, as well as my backpack. The bonehead also went to all of my teachers to tell them what happened and get my assignments. Here I was thinking he loved me, and he did this to me (giggle). We had lunch and talked about what the Doctor found and how FSB was now the boys foster home.

Ma came running in with a concerned look on her face, "Brian, are you all right? I heard what happed and was worried that it may have been too much for you to take in."

Giggling, "Ma, I am fine. I am not the one who got beat up, he was." I said pointing at the boy in the bed.

Ma looked over at him. He was covered up so all you could see was his face, "Oh my god." She said as she went over to get a better look at him. "Did he get into a fight?"

"No some adult beat him badly. The bruises on his face are only the start." I pointed out as I stood and walked to the other side of the bed. Looking across at Ma, "His body is a mess. He has a cracked rib and a fractured arm."

She looked down at the covered body and asked, "What is he wearing under the blankets?"

"Nothing but a bunch of bandages, why?"

"I want to see."

"No Ma you don't. It took everything in me not to run out crying when I saw him."

"Brian, I need to see."

"Ok, but I warned you." I lifted the blankets and pulled them down to his feet.

"Oh my god, who could do such a thing to a child?" She asked, tears rolled down her cheeks and she leaned over and helped cover him back up. Then she leaned over and kissed his forehead, "You are safe now baby. You are under the protection of the Crossman."

Timmy on the other hand ran over to the sink and puked after getting his first look the boy's body. He washed out the sink and his mouth then turned, and I could see he was crying. I ran up to him and hugged him till he got it under control. He walked over, grabbed his boxed lunch and threw it away, grabbed his backpack, and left without another word.

Ma looked at me, "Brian, why are you here? You shouldn't be seeing this. This is too much for you to endure."

I explained to her about the boy that came into the church and how I helped, "This boy needs me, and I will be here when he wakes up. He can't wake up to a room full of adults."

"Ok Brian, I get you feel you need to do this, but I will be checking in on you. If you feel this is getting to be too much, will you come talk to me about it? Will you promise me that?"

I wrapped her in a hug and kissed her cheek, "Yes Ma, I promise." She left and I finished my lunch. I sat at the table and did my schoolwork.

About three the Headmaster dropped by to check in, "How is he doing?"

"He is drugged up and sleeping. The Doctor wants him to sleep until tomorrow. He says that he wants to give his body a chance to heal a little before he starts moving around."

"Good, now let's talk about you?"

"Am I in trouble?"

"Not that I know of. However, I have talked with the Doctor and he agrees that it would be better if you were here when the boy woke up instead of just a bunch of adults. That being said, I will allow you to spend the day here tomorrow helping the Doctor with the boy. However, I want you to go to the dining room for dinner, then back you your house. At six thirty there is an assembly in the auditorium that you need to attend. After the assembly you will return to your house for the night. Tomorrow morning you will go to breakfast with your house, and then you may come here."

"But what if he wakes up when I am not here?"

"You said it yourself, the Doctor is going to keep him asleep till midmorning. You will be here in plenty of time. Any more questions on this subject?"

I could tell that although it was phrased as a question, it wasn't. "No Sir."

"Brian, I am very proud of you. You didn't have to put yourself through this, but you did. I would like to say that it is because of what you have learned from the Crossman, but this is who you are. When I send off my weekly report to your family, I will be informing them of what has happened here. I will also be letting them know what a wonderful caring boy they have raised. I know that they will be as proud of you as I am." He then turned and walked out of the room.

From behind me I heard, "Wow, that was very impressive boy." I turned to see the Doctor cleaning his glasses. "I was not sure you would make it as a Crossman, but you have impressed us all. Just so you are clear on this. I am not allowing that boy to wake up until tomorrow morning. Until then he will be safe and cared for. I know you don't want to leave but follow the Headmaster's orders so that I can have you back tomorrow. Get plenty of sleep because tomorrow will not be easy."

"Yes Sir."

The bell rang at four, I had already packed up my stuff and put on my robe over the clothes that Brad brought me. I made my way to the dining room and got into the Crossman line. I was actually very hungry, so I got a double cheeseburger with fries, a piece of red velvet cake, a white milk, and of course my golden water. I sat down at our table with Timmy to my right, Owen, across from me, and Tyler next to him.

Owen was the first to ask, "How it the boy? Timmy told us what happened this morning but has not wanted to talk about it since."

I looked at Timmy, "Are you ok?"

His eyes filled up with tears, "No, I'm not ok. Why would someone do something like that to him. I wish I had never seen his body. I was ok with what I could see, it made me sad and angry, but I was ok. When I saw his body, I just can't get it out of my head." He said as he pushed his try away.

Brendon put his arm around Timmy's shoulders. Timmy turned and started crying on Brendon's shoulder.

Owen could not believe Timmy reaction, "It is really that bad?"

"Yes, he has burns all over his body from someone putting out their cigarette on him. His arm and his rib are fractured. His butt is just a mess where he was beat. I don't blame Timmy for crying, I cried a few times today too.

"That poor kid. When is he being moved to the hospital?" Tyler asked.

"He isn't the school has custody of him. FSB is his foster parents I guess."

Tyler shrugged his shoulders, "I guess that makes sense."

"Wait a minute, has the school fostered boys before?"

Brad answered, "There are actually three other foster boys here at this school."

I was shocked, "There are? I didn't know that."

"No reason for you to know. In fact, their own roommates don't know."

"Why?"

"Because they need to be treated like any other student. If they chose to tell anyone that is up to them. Don't forget Brian, this is first and foremost a Crossman School. We never turn away someone in need. They, like the boy you helped today have to decide if they want what we have to offer. If they do, they will get the same education as everyone else in this school. One of the three is even being adopted by one of his roommates family after the first of the year."

"Wow, just when I think being a Crossman can't get any better, I find out that it can. Now if you guys don't mind a change in subjects, what is the assembly about that we have to go to?"

"Sorry buddy, not we, just you and Owen."

"Wait... what assembly, no one told me about it." Owen said.

"Why just me and Owen?"

"Because you two just became Crossman. This will be your first holiday with us, and you need to know what to expect." Said Brad

"I don't understand."

"You will after the assembly."

We went back to the house, stripped, and headed up to our room. I started folding my shorts and shirt so that I could wear them again tomorrow. Tyler said, "If you want, you can wear them to the assembly. You are not required to wear your robe and can even wear your street shoes if you want."

"Can I do that too?" Owen asked.

"Yes, although this is on the school grounds, this is not really considered a school function since only a small number of students will be there."

"This is driving me crazy Tyler. Please tell us what this is about." I begged.

"Sorry can't do it." He said with a sly smile.

At six Owen and I started heading over to the auditorium. As we were leaving the building a boy of about seven called out, "Hey guys wait up. Can I walk over with you?"

"Sure. I am not sure I have met you before, I am Brian, and this is Owen."

"I know who you are. I have wanted to say hi to you a bunch of times, but I figured that you would not want a little bugging you."

Owen said, "Then we must be doing something wrong, if you were afraid that we would have turned you away. We would never treat someone like that."

He looked to the ground and said, "I am sorry, I didn't mean to make you mad."

He looked like he might cry. I got down on my knees in front of him. "Nothing you did made us mad. We are sorry if we gave you the impression that we would not welcome you. So let's start over, I am Brian."

He lifted his head and looked me in the eyes. I guess he was looking to see if I were teasing him. When he decided that I wasn't he showed me this million-dollar smile, held out his hand and said, "I am Theodore, but everyone calls me Theo."

I pushed his hand away and gave him a hug. He tensed up at first, then hugged me back. As soon as I stood up, Owen took my place. "It's nice to meet you Theo." Owen grabbed him and hugged him as well.

"Ok Theo, now that we all know each other, I know that Owen and me have to go to this thing because we are new Crossman. Neither of us were born Crossman, so why are you stuck going?"

"I have only been a Crossman for about six months. My new daddy is a Crossman. When he married my mommy, I became one too."

"Well Theo, I want to hear this story, but we have to get moving."

Me and Owen put Theo between us, grabbed his hands, and swung him back and forth as we walked to the auditorium. I kinda liked it, it felt good to make him giggle like that. This must have been how my dad and Donny felt as they did this with me when I was his age.

We got to the auditorium and found the Headmaster outside greeting the kids. He smiled when he saw how we were treating Theo. "Hi boys."

We all said, "Hi Headmaster." At the same time.

"Boys, when you go inside I want you to sit in the first row to the left when you enter. You three may not understand how this will pertain to you, but I will explain that to you after everyone else leaves. Just listen to what is being said ok?"

"Yes Sir." We all said confused. We went in and sat where he told us to.

Just after we sat down, Tony from my English class came and sat next to me. He is twelve and really smart. "Brian, I have to talk to you."

"Sure Tony, what's up?"

"I heard about the boy you found this morning. Is he ok?"

"I am not supposed to talk about him, but no he is not ok."

"He was beat pretty bad by an adult wasn't he?"

"Again Tony, I am not supposed to talk about it. Why are you so interested?"

"Before my parents went off to become the US Ambassadors in Damascus, we used to take in a lot of foster kids. I have seen some pretty badly abused kids. I learned to work with them and provide a bridge between them and the adults that wanted to ask them a lot of questions. I wanted to let you know that so you could let the Doctor know."

"Wait a minute, your parents are in Syria?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Because my parents are helping refugees near a place called Binnish in Syria."

"No Kidding. From what I hear, people like your parents are a god send to the refugees. They need all the help we can give them."

"We will need to talk about this later. As far as the boy goes, I will let the Doctor know."

Just then the Headmaster walked in and closed the doors. He looked over at us and saw Tony. "Tony why don't you head down front with the other boys."

"Yes Sir." Tony said and went down to sit towards the front.

There must have been fifty to sixty boys sitting in front of us. When the Headmaster spoke everyone shut up without being told. "Hello boys, thank you all for being here. You all have something in common and that is that you, I am sorry to say, will not be able to join your families for the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays. Some of you are from other countries and wouldn't celebrate this holiday as it is an American one. However, all next week the school will be closed, and you have all been assigned local families to stay with. Those of you that have been invited to join the families of friends or roommates are all set. Those who have not made arrangements yet, have been assigned housing with families who have volunteered to take you in."

This got many of the kids talking to each other, which stopped the Headmaster from talking. The kids quieted down, and the Headmaster continued. "Your situation is not new, and we have been making sure you all have a wonderful time out of school. That being said, you "Will" behave like you would if you were in school. That means no back talking, no disrespecting of others, and always being polite gentlemen at all times. Just because you are not at school, any bad reports which of course, I don't expect, will still be met with the same punishments as you would receive if you were in school and will be carried out upon your return. This can include extra duty assignments, paddling, or termination of your time here. Am I making myself very clear?"

All the boys acknowledged his understanding of what was just said. "Now that I have that out of the way, boys I want you to have fun and enjoy your time away from the school, see how other people live and get to know the people you are with. For many of you, your time with your holiday families will be what you expect them to be, for others you may be very surprised. I know that there are many rumors of how the Crossman live. Many of you here will get the opportunity to find out firsthand. Quite a few of you will have the opportunity to see how the Crossman live because you will be spending the week at the Crossman Ranch."

I about fell out of my chair. At first I thought it was just me, but Owen and Theo looked just as shocked. The Headmaster concluded, "Tomorrow evening you will all be getting an envelope from your room monitor with your assignment in it. It will tell you where you will be staying, and where and when you will be picked up. It will also have a list of recommended clothing to take with you. You are all dismissed."

Everyone started filing out of the auditorium. When everyone was going the Headmaster asked us to come up to the front. "Any questions?"

"Umm"

"Go on Theo, what is your question?"

"Won't it be weird for them when they see us naked and sucking on our dads cocks?"

He laughed, "I guess it would be if they were to see that, but they won't."

"I don't understand how they won't notice that Sir." I said.

"Well Brian, it is because during this week, and the two over Christmas, the rules on the Crossman Ranch change. You see, during this time everyone wears clothes on the ranch and sexual contact is between adults only."

"But that aint fair Sir. Why are we being punished?" Owen said, trying not to whine but only being a little successful at it. Even Theo was tearing up.

"Listen boys, I know this goes against the rules you have been taught to follow and will be uncomfortable for you, believe me I know. Remember, I am a Crossman and know how much I hated it when I went here. However, we are Crossman, and we have to look at the big picture. The boys that go to the ranch will see what the Regulars would call a normal family dynamic and will put some rumors to rest. Just try to remember this will end and we will go back to our normal. However, for these boys, they are suffering with having to be away from their families over the holidays. Brian, you above all, should know how that feels. This will be the first time in your life that you and your family have not been together for Thanksgiving."

With tears in my eyes I said, "Yes Sir, I guess that didn't hit me till I heard you talking to the other boys."

"So you see boys, as Crossman, it is our duty to put others before us and I am asking you as well as all of the Crossman families to do that for these boys. Will you help us out here?"

We all nodded our heads and said we would.

Right after breakfast I was back in medical. The boy looked just like he did when I left, I am not sure what else I expected. Maybe I just hoped he would be better.

I sat down at the table and started unloading my backpack when the Doctor came in. "Good morning my boy, how are you today?"

"I am good Doc. How is he doing?"

"I think better then yesterday, but not by much. Dr. Kirk came in to look him over. He believes that he can help him with some of the bigger wounds, but we will have to see what he wants when he is in a better place to make decisions about his body."

"There is this boy named Tony Bush. He says that his parents took in a lot of foster kids that were abused like this. He says that he got real good in working with them kid to kid. He wanted me to let know that he would like to help if he can."

"I will talk to the Headmaster about him and see what he thinks. Until then, I don't want any more boys in here. I heard what it did to Timmy.

"Yes Sir, I never meant for Timmy to see all of him, but Ma had to look. When do you think he will wake up?"

"We gave him his last dose of pain meds at six, so I would guess that he will be waking up sometime around ten. I have got some other boys to see, come get me if he wakes up."

He left the room and I started doing my studies. I kept going over and looking at him and even checked his pulse the way the Doctor showed me. At about nine thirty he started moving around some.

I went and told the Doctor that he was starting to move around. He came in to examine him, "Ok Brian, here is what you have been waiting for. Unless you feel like he needs medical attention or you can't handle it anymore, we will all stay out and let you try to bring him out with as little stress as possible."

The Doctor left and I pulled a chair over by the bed and started reading. About thirty minutes later the boy started moving around again. Soon after, he opened his eyes, well his right eye, his left eye was still pretty swollen. At first he just looked around, then I could see the panic in his whole body.

I moved so that I was in his line of sight. "It's ok, you are safe. My name is Brian, and I am here to help you. Can you tell me your name?"

"Where am I?"

"You are in the medical center of the Founders School for Boys. You are safe here, no one can get to you here."

He tried to get up, but fell back down, "How long have I been here?"

"About twenty-four hours."

He tried to get up again, "I have to get out of here before he finds me. I am in so much trouble, he is going to hurt me again."

"Who, your dad?"

"Stepdad." He said with a disgusted look on his face. "I have to get out of here before he finds me."

After a few more attempts at getting up, he finally gave up and started crying. "He would not stop hitting me, I begged him to stop. "Please stop, you are hurting me." But he wouldn't, I was only late by ten minutes."

I could not believe what I was hearing, all of this pain for being ten minutes late. "Please tell me your name so that I can tell the police who did this to you."

He scared me when he just stopped crying and stared straight at me. "What does it matter anyhow, I am as good a dead? My name is Hudson King."

"You are not dead Hudson; the Crossman will protect you. We will let the police know what your stepdad did you to you and they will arrest him."

He just laughed, "You don't understand, he is the police."

I was so shocked that I fell backwards into the chair, "Your daddies a cop and he did this to you?"

He looked a little angry, "No! My stepdad is a cop, my dad died in a car wreck before I was born."

"I am sorry Hudson, I didn't mean to upset you anymore then you already are, but your stepdad being a cop makes no difference. You are under the protection of the Crossman now and he can't get to you here."

"Are you stupid? He's a cop, he can get to me anywhere."

"No, I am far from stupid, and he can't get you here. The FBI arrested my friend Owen's dad, and tried to get to him, but they couldn't because he was protected by the Crossman. Trust me when I say that the man that did this will never get near you again.

"You don't know how much I want to trust you, but I have been down this road before. People always say, "Trust me" "We will protect you from him". You can see how well that worked out. So, take your promises and shove them up your ass!"

Staying calm I said, "I get it dude, trust is something that has to be earned. You will learn that I don't lie or say things that I don't mean. I will tell you this, I will have your back for as long as you want it, but don't curse in front of me or anyone else here. It is not permitted and will not help you get what you need. Be mad, yell, if you need it I will get you something to hit, but don't disrespect the people that are trying to help you."

I could tell he still didn't trust me, and I was a little angry about the way he spoke, but I will not give up on him. I sat back and tried to just read my history book. I looked up when he asked, "Why are you here and not some adult asking me a lot of questions?"

I lowered my book, "Because I am a preachers son, and had a boy come into the church looking a lot like you do. The bruises, the burns, and the broken bones. He was awake when he came in and really started panicking when he saw all the adults. You were going to wake up in a strange place after suffering through what you obviously went through. A bunch of adults gathered around you would have done more damage to you then waking up and seeing me."

"But they're here, right?"

"Yes, the Doctor is waiting for me to come get him."

"So why haven't you done it yet?"

"Because you didn't ask me to, and you are not showing me that you have a need of the Doctor yet."

"Wait a minute, are you telling me he won't come in until you tell him he can?"

"For now he won't come in till I ask him. He will have to come in at some point to check your wounds and give you something for you pain. He won't touch you unless you say that he can."

"Why would he need my permission?"

"Because it is your body, and no one has the right to make you do something without your consent."

"That makes no sense, adults are always telling kids what they can and can't do."

"You are at the Founders School for Boys. This is a Crossman compound that is governed by the Crossman, and yes they control the kids and have rules that have to be followed. These rules are there to keep us safe, so one day we can walk out of here and be proud of who we are. Those are guidelines, more for the way we live then to control us. We follow those rules and the boys here are happy, even the Regulars like you."

"I have a lot more questions, but what if I told you I was hungry?"

"Are you?"

"Yes, I have not eaten in a long time."

"Is there anything that you are wanting to eat?"

"Sure," he said trying to get a rise out of me. "I want a cheeseburger with fries and a coke."

"I will ask the Doctor if you can have that, and if he says it is ok I will get someone to bring it to you. However, I can't get you a Coke because we don't have soda here. We have juice or milk."

"Then would you please ask him?"

"Would it be ok if he came in and looked at you?"

"Fine if that is what it takes to eat around here."

The Doctor came in and looked Hudson over, "Boy, Brian told me what you asked for, and I am going to say not right now."

Hudson looked at me and I could tell he was mad, "I knew I could not trust you."

Before I could say anything the Doctor said, "Now you wait a minute boy. He has been with you since you got here, he only left your side to eat and sleep, so ease up. As for your order, the only reason I said no is because you have not eaten in at least twenty-four hours. However, you have been and still are on a lot of medications." He reached around and grabbed a bag that he brought in with him. "Here is some saltine crackers. I would like you to start on a few of these. If you can hold these down, then I will get you what you asked for. Deal?"

Hudson nodded his agreement.

"Ok, now I have got one other boy to see and if you are ok when I get back, I will take the tube out of you penis."

That shocked the boy and after the Doctor left he lifted up the blanket and saw two things. First he saw that he was naked and then he saw that he indeed had a tube coming out of his dick. Panicked he asked, "What did they do to me? Why does everyone what to hurt me?" Tears were rolling down his cheeks.

I sat on the bed and took his hand in mine, "Hudson, no one is trying to hurt you. You are naked because we needed to see the damage. The tube is just for piss. You have been asleep and would have made a big mess if it weren't for the tube." I got off the bed and went around to the other side. I detached the bottle from the bed and lifted it up so show him. "This would have been all over the bed without the tube in you." I hooked the bottle back into the bed and went back to where I was sitting.

He had his arm covering his eyes and he was crying. I took his hand in mine. He pulled his hand back and looked at me. His teeth were clinched showing his anger, "Did you have fun when you went to dinner last night, laughing about the kid who got his ass kick so bad he had to have a tube in his dick?"

Ok, I know I shouldn't have but I got mad, "I asked you not to talk that way and now I am telling you, knock it off. As for me and my friends laughing at you, I don't know what kind of friends you have, but we would never laugh at someone else's pain. My friend Timmy brought me lunch yesterday, and when he saw your body, he went over to the sink and threw up, and then cried. He, like me, and everyone else could not understand how someone could do such a thing to another person. You have every right to be angry, and if you want me to leave, just say so. Until then, knock it off."

I turned and went back to the desk to calm down and work on the history paper that was due Friday. He seemed to calm down and the crackers did not make him sick. Owen showed up with three lunches. "Thanks Owen, but you might not want to stay here. Hudson is not a very nice person right now."

"Why would he be? I can't imagine that I would be a very nice person if I went through what he went through. Anyway, I thought I would hang out and have lunch with you. The Doc said it would be ok if you guys didn't mind."

"Are you sure Owen? It really messed up Timmy yesterday."

"Timmy didn't know what to expect, I do." He got up and took one of the boxes and put in on the rolling table and moved it over to the bed. "Here is the hamburger you asked for. It's not a cheeseburger, because the Doc thought that might be too heavy. The kitchen cut the burger up into quarters so you can eat only what you feel up to. The fries are the best I have ever had, so you have some of them too. I also brought an apple juice if you like that or I brought myself orange juice so we can trade, I like both."

Hudson didn't say a word just opened the box and started eating. I was mad about it and said, "Thank you Owen for my lunch. I am sorry that Hudson is to selfish to say it also."

Owen grabbed my arm and dragged me from the room. "What is wrong with you Brian? There is no need to talk to him that way." He saw that I was smiling, "What are you smiling about goofball?"

"See Owen, he needs me, but doesn't realize it yet. I have to be a jerk so that he can see that he is also being a jerk. Trust me, by the end of the day we will be friends." We went back into the room and finished lunch and talked about the upcoming weekend. I could tell Hudson was listening but did give us any indication he wanted to be a part of it.

The bell rang and Owen grabbed his stuff, "I will see you later Brian. It was nice meeting you Hudson, I wish it could have been under better circumstances."

"Thank you for bringing me lunch Owen. I feel a lot better now."

"You are welcome my friend, see ya later."

Owen left and the Doctor entered. "Hudson, with your permission, I would like to get that tube out."

Being a jerk again, "Do I have a choice?"

"Sure, you always have a choice. If you want to wait a while, I am ok with that."

Just as the Doctor turned to leave, "NO, I am sorry. Please take this thing out."

"Ok since you asked so nicely." He pulled the shot thing out of his coat, pulled the blankets down to Hudson's knees. He attached the plunger to the port and sucked out, the water. He detached the plunger and told Hudson, "Take a deep breath and push." He grunted and yelped when the tube came free. I could not help but giggle.

"You think this is funny jerk?" Hudson said angrily.

"No, I am not laughing at you. He always tells boys to take a deep breath and push. Think about it, there is nothing in that move that helps push that tube out of your dick. He just says that to make us think about something else." I giggled again.

"You have had the tube in your dick?"

"Yeah, I had surgery last month and had to have one. He told me the same thing."

Hudson actually laughed and smiled, "Yeah, now that I think about it, is a bit silly."

After the Doctor left, Hudson opened up about his mom dying last year after a long battle with cancer. He told me how he didn't have any other relatives, so he was stuck with Mike his stepdad.

About an hour later Dave and Nancy came in. This got Hudson all upset. "I knew it was too good to be true." He said crying.

I ran to him and asked, "What's wrong Hudson?"

He pointed at Dave and said, "Him, he works with Mike, I have seen him before. I knew there was nowhere I would be safe. Maybe he will just kill me this time and it will all be over."

Dave looked shocked and approached Hudson. I jumped between them, "No way are you going to hurt this kid." I was not sure what I was doing, but I was doing it.

Dave said, "Hold on a second," Looking at Hudson, "do you know me from somewhere?"

"You can stop your stupid game I know he sent you to bring me back."

"I have no idea who you are, and no one sent me here, I swear. Who is it that you think sent me?"

"He knows that his stepdad sent you. You should be ashamed of yourself." I said.

"I am very confused, who are you?"

"Yeah right, like you don't know that I am Mike Paterson's stepson."

"Wait a minute, did Mike do this to you?"

"Of course he did, like you didn't know."

"I swear I didn't even know that Mike had a son. I knew his wife died last year, but that is all I really know about him. Boy I need to be very sure about your next answer for both our sakes. Is Mike Paterson of the Clayton police department the one who did this to you?"

Staring daggers out of his one good eye and through clinched teeth he said, "Yes he did, and he is my stepdad not my dad. That jerk was married to my mom."

Dave sat down hard in a chair with a look of complete shock on his face as all the color ran out. I looked at Hudson, "Look at him dude, I really don't think he knew."

I am not sure Hudson knew what to feel. We were all starting to relax a bit as Nancy introduced herself and started asking Hudson questions.

Then everything froze as a man came storming into the room. "Oh my god, I heard you were here, what happened to you?"

I looked from Hudson to this man, and right away I knew who it was. Again without thinking I jumped between Hudson and this man that I was sure was Mike.

"Get out of the way boy, I need to see my son."

"No Sir, you need to leave please."

"Don't back talk me boy or you will see what the inside of a jail cell looks like."

Dave came up behind him and asked, "Mike, I am not sure if you remember me. We worked that case over on the west side together."

"Sure Dave, I remember you. What do I need to sign so that I can take my boy home?"

"Well Mike, currently he is home." Dave put his hand on his gun and said, "What I need you to do right now, is to put your hands on the back of your head for me."

Just then another man walked in. "I thought I told you to wait in the car Sam, and no I will not put my hands on my head."

Sam asked, "What is going on here?" He turned and looked at the boy in the bed, "Hudson, is that you? What the hell happened to you?"

"Sam please just go wait in the car I will take care of this."

Sam looked from Hudson to Mike, "Mike, what the hell did you do?" Sam reared back and punched Mike in the stomach. When he bent over, Sam grabbed Mike's gun from his holster. He passed it back to Dave who took it. Then Sam grabbed the handcuffs off of Mikes belt and wrapped them around each of Mike's wrists pulling them behind his back. The last thing he did was grab his badge off of his belt. He leaned close to Mike and said, "If there were not children here, I would knock your teeth out."

Dave took control of Mike and read him his rights. Then he said, "Mike Paterson, you are being charged with child abuse, child endangerment, assault, sexual assault on a child."

"Hold on there boy, I never sexually assaulted that rotten kid."

"I have pictures of that boys whole body, and the way you whipped his gentiles is sure enough sexual assault."

"Do you really think the rest of the guys will allow you to arrest a fellow officer?"

"You forget one thing."

"What's that?"

"Those fellow officers all have families and kids, or they have dealt with abused kids. What are the chances any of them will come to your rescue once they have seen what you did to that child?"

"I never laid a hand on him, try to prove it. I want a lawyer."

That was the last thing we heard as Dave escorted him out of the building. Sam walked up to the bed and got on his knees beside it. Hudson, still afraid moved as far away as he could. Sam said, "Hudson I am so sorry. I always thought something was not right, but he was my best friend. He always told me how much trouble you were getting into since your mom died and I believed him. But I knew something was not right, because every time I took our boat out and invited you do come along, he came up with an excuse. Now that I see what he did to you, I understand why he didn't want you seen in a swimsuit. I knew in my heart something was wrong and failed to investigate. I am so sorry Hudson." With that said, this grown man, this police officer put his head in his hands and started to cry.

Hudson looked at me and all I could do was shrug my shoulders. Hudson stared at him for a few minutes and reached out. He put his hand on Sam's arm and said, "You couldn't know before, but you know now and stopped him today. Thank you for showing up today."

Sam stood and looked at the Social Worker, "What can I do to help. He can stay with me and my family, we will give him a good home."

The Social Worker looked at him and said, "I know you are a good man, I have worked with you before, but there is no chance that I would put him with you. I am sorry, but you are his abusers best friend. He will be in the custody of this school until such time as he graduates, or a family is found to adopt him. If you want to help him, make sure that his abuser does not get within twenty miles of this school."

"I guarantee that he will not get anywhere near that boy. I need to go to the station and make sure the boys know what has really happened here."

I saw her pass Sam a flash drive, "You never got this from me, but some of the other officers may need convincing."

He took the flash drive and walked back to Hudson. He passed Hudson a card, "Hudson, this is my card. It has my cell phone number on it. If you need anything, and I mean anything you call me anytime day or night."

"Thank you Sam."
