Innocence said looking over the smartly dressed mixed race boy. His clothes suited him well and he had a air of confidence that she wishes she could see in her boys. Clearly this boy was loved and he was shining with a inner light that sparked out of his brown eyes. His hair was cut very short at the sides nearly down to the skin and the top was very short styled up into a point and one side his left hand side had a line cut into it. She thought what a handsome young man but she felt a air of familiarity to him. "Hello young man I think you have come to the wrong room." Kweli softly giggled as he translated showing that poor innocence had not recognised the change in her boy from yesterday. "Amam, tid si ym, tid si uoj nielk Kareem." Said Kareem with a slight chuckle. "Momma, it's me it's your little Kareem." Kweli translated to me as I was almost bent over double trying to suppress my laughter. "Kareem?" She said in shock. "What you doing here? and where did them clothes come from? As if I don't know! Sean I know your listening get your ass in here sir." I walked in and Kweli wheeled himself in both of us laughing. I noticed Innocence freeze as she saw the new look and new clothes. Kweli was wearing the basic tracksuit bottoms with press studs going up both sides. A baggy t shirt with cartoon logo, one sock and shoe completed the look. Like Kareem he was more confident in himself and it showed in his brown eyes and the way he held himself in the chair. He had a massive smile plastered on his face. His hair was cut short and had a new complex design cut into his hair. I sat down on the chair and Kareem climbed into my lap. "Sean what is all this?" Innocence said indicating the boys new cut and the clothes. "Well when I went to get the boys and your stuff from the house to be honest I didn't like the way things where. The clothing situation was bad and the living conditions not the best." I said. I noticed that Innocence head had dropped again. "Innocence don't look down. I understand the situation you where in did not leave the best to get the boys the stuff that you would of liked but I could rectify that and moving forward you can get the stuff that you and the boys deserve." I said back to her. "Sean I don't know how I can do that. If I stay by myself I don't know how I can do stuff and if I go back to him, he will take all my money and the boys will be back to what he says they can have." Innocence said to me a bit dejected. "Come on Innocence you know I will have everything sorted out for you." I replied smiling. I reached into my bag and pulled out 2 sets of paper. Turning to the back page of each I passed them and a pen over to Innocence. "Can you sign on the line on both of them for me." I finished before stopping Innocence from starting to look through the papers as I knew she would start to argue with me if she did. I took the papers and put them back in my bag. "Boys tell your mom about your day" I said to them. We sat for a hour and laughed as the boys passionately told their mom about the day they had shopping and all the fun they had. I had plenty of evil looks from Innocence as the boys told her about the prices that come across the tills when I paid for things but I shook them away. She laughed at the thoughts of when the boys got a little upset over the misunderstandings during the day. I was happy the boys didn't tell her about the phones or the laptops as that surprise will come later. Sadly the time came to leave and get back home but not before we hit a burger bar for something to eat. Back at home I sat the boys down and decided to have a quick word with them. "Boys I know you were listening to what me and your mom was saying about how she can afford to live without your dad and I know that concerned you both right?" I watched them both nodded. "Ok firstly like I said I would not let you go back to that house or your dad. Secondly thank you for not mentioning the house or stuff. Thirdly did you see the papers I had your mom sign?" I asked. Again the boys nodded. "Ok the papers your mom signed where for a pay rise meaning she has more money and the tenancy agreement which means she is renting the house that I am building. Therefore she has more money and somewhere affordable to live so there is zero reason why she would need to go back to your dad." I watched as tears of relief ran down their faces. "Kareem pop to the bathroom and get ready for bed and I will meet you in 5 minutes. Kweli you can watch tv." I left the boys to do what I said and I went to my office to file away the amended paperwork for Innocence contract and her new home. Before pulling out my phone. Selecting a caller I dialled and waited for an answer. "Sean. What have you done now?" Came Innocence's voice over the phone. "Well I seemed to have left a bag with some things with you. Well they are for you. I need to be able to contact you so the phone is yours to use it's on my friends and family plan." I said back after laughing. "Ok that I understand and accept. What about the computer?" Came the reply over the phone. "Well I just thought you could use one. Speaking of the computer can you get it out and turn it on. It's set up to use my internet no matter where you are. I've also set up a work email on it in case I need to send you things." I said. "Ok Sean I don't have to like it but I accept it. The computer is booting up now." Came the reply. "Thank you I will hang up now and in 5 minutes I will send you some stuff to look at." I finished smiling at what will happen soon. I then hung up. I went into Kareem's room to see him sitting on the bed in his tight boxers with a sad look on his face. "What's wrong big guy?" I asked. "Why do I have to go to bed now when Kweli is staying up it's not fair." Came the sullen reply. "Ok Kareem go get your computer and get into bed." I watched as he did this and once he was comfortable I sat the laptop on his knee. I showed him how to access it as I had it securely set up. "The reason I had you come to bed this early and alone is so I can show you this, and give you time alone." I said showing him how to open up Skype. I then showed him the 3 contacts he had. Myself, his brother and his mom. I told him to click on his mom and connect. I then waited with him a few moments whilst Innocence accepted the call and appeared on screen. She beamed when she saw Kareem and give me a scowl before I made a hasty retreat telling them I would be back in 30 minutes. Making my way into the tv where Kweli was sitting watching tv I sat near him before getting hold of him and sitting him on the sofa next to me. This was the first real time that we were alone and I decided to have a conversation with him. "Kweli I never told you but I am proud of what you did for your mom but from now on you don't have to worry about that again." "I know uncle Sean and I feel better now that I don't have to go back home to my dad anymore but I do still worry. I also hate that I'm stuck like this." He said a little emotional. "What you worried about?" "Well what happens if mom finds someone that does that to us again?" "That is a really good question Kweli and there is no way to know if she will meet someone like that. But I do know something." "What's that?" "If your mom ever meets someone who hits her I am here now. You have these now too." I said pointing to the watch and phone, "If someone ever hits your mom again no matter what time it is that watch will let you into my house and that phone can contact me. If anyone hits her just once they will be kicked off my property and never let back on. Whist you live on this estate I will do all I can to protect you guys." "Ok I understand but I don't know why you want to and what do u want us to do in return?" "Again that is a good question Kweli but one that's not easy to answer because it hurts. My family and me don't get along very well so when I Came here and your mom was kind to me when she didn't have to I decided to help her with a job. Then I got to know her two little squirts, you and Kareem and you made me laugh and smile and be happy so I wanted to do the same and I turned you guys into my new family. As for what you have to do for me. That's easy too. Just be yourself, be kind, be good, and stick in at school you boys are very smart." "Ok uncle Sean we can do that and thank you for helping us." "Let's watch the end of this and get you to bed. Oh and your very welcome Kweli." I said as we settled down to watch the ending of the cartoon that he had on. It wasn't long before the cartoon ended and I told Kweli to meet me in his bedroom. I scaled the stairs 2 at a time and popped into Kareem's room where I helped him shut down the computer after he said goodbye to his mom and I put the TV on and give him the controls. I then went into Kweli's bedroom and grabbed his computer. Sitting it down on his knee I then went and showed him how to access Skype and how to dial it up to his mom. Like I did with Kareem I left him to spend time talking his mom and went into Kareem's bedroom. "Hey champ how you doing?" I said to him jumping onto his bed and cuddling into him. "I'm good uncle Sean. Thank you for letting me talk to mommy I missed talking to her." "That's ok Kareem and now you and Kweli can talk to your mom before bed every night." I said as we settled down and laughed along with the cartoon. I give Kweli the same length of time on the call with his mom as I give Kareem before I went into the room and helped him shut it down before telling Innocence I would call her shortly and putting the TV on for Kweli to enjoy for a little while. I left the boys to it and went into my office where I got my laptop and dialled up Innocence. I waited a moment and her scowling face lit up my screen. "Sean you have done far to much but I love you for it. I've missed talking to the boys so much and the change in them wow. They are looking and acting so much better than before and you made them so cute." She gushed at me. "It's not a problem Innocence the computers are there not only to talk to you and play games but to also to do homework and schoolwork on. It will give them a boost in their life skills and hopefully set them on a good level for the future. But what I wanted to do is talk to more important than the boys, and it's you." "Ok it sounds serious Sean" "It is serious but not serious at all. First off like you said the boys are happier and more confident in themselves and that is down to me promising that they won't go back to their dad" "Sean how can u promise such a thing I am not sure it can be possible." "Well I can promise it because I can make it happen. I can help you get away from him if that's what you want." "Yes I want to get away from him he put my boy in hospital." "Ok" I said and I sent a email over to Innocence work email address. "Innocence I know your worried about things like money and a place to live and that's why you are thinking to going back to him. I sent you something I want you to read through." I sat and watched as Innocence fetched up the email and the attachment, I then saw her read through it and come to a pause when she got to the end. "Sean I have not been working long enough for a pay rise so I can't accept this." "Innocence will it be enough to raise the boys without your husband" "Well yes it would" "Exactly and since you already signed the papers that contract is now official." I tapped away and sent the second email I wanted to send. "Next on my list Innocence is a place for you to live. I have seen a nice 4 bedroom house with a decent price. If you open the new email there is the tenancy agreement for the property I have seen." Again I watched as Innocence opened the email and read it through. "Sean this can't be right the property that size and features will never be that much money. There must be something wrong with the property." "Well there is one thing wrong with the property Innocence." I said cryptically. "Ok Sean I'm going to bite what is wrong with the property." "Well um, I haven't finished building the place yet." I laughed at the shocked expression on her face. "Sean that's way too much for you to do. Wait have I signed it too haven't I?" She said starting to laugh as she started to understand me. "Yeah you are right that was the second thing I had you sign. So if you want to you can be totally free from him." I said as she seemed to grow yet relax in front of me. "If you want and can trust me then we can sort this out quick and easy." "That would be nice, Sean how could I thank you." I then set out my idea for Innocence on how to get her ex out of hers and the boys life forever. At first she was skeptical but the more I told her about my idea the more she decided that we were going to go along with the idea I had. We had a laugh at the thoughts of what was going to happen and Innocence was happy with what was about to transpire with the termination of her marriage. We both signed off and I went to the boys bedrooms and tucked them both into bed. Going back into my office I went over to my computer and started to type up my ideas on how to get Innocence the freedom from her husband that I wanted. I had a very good idea of what I wanted to do and so if I put it down on paper I knew that I would not forget it. I put a outline that I wanted to attack him on and when I had the idea fully sorted out I printed off the outline. Closing down the computer I called out "Al lockdown" and listened as I could hear the house locking all the exterior things and going into lockdown mode. I then went into my bedroom and fell into a happy deep sleep. I woke up early the next day and went down to the kitchen. As I was alone I started to make the breakfast for the boys and put some music on for company. As I like my music louder than normal I started to sing along to the song. "What you want, Baby, I got it, What you need,Do you know I got it, All I'm askin', Is for a little respect when you get home" As my music was loud I didn't hear when the two boys had joined me until I heard the giggles behind me. Turning around I saw Kweli in his wheels and he had managed to fully dress himself. I was happy and proud of that. I saw Kareem bent over double laughing wearing his sleeping shorts and t shirt. "Oh you think that's funny do you?" I ask and see Kareem with tears streaming down his face laughing as he nodded to me. Well I was not having that I moved around and grabbed Kareem. I picked him up and said "Al unlock" we heard the house unlock and I walked carrying him outside. Kareem looked and saw where we were heading. "No. No. No. Please Sean no. I was only kidding it wasn't really funny." He begged at me. I moved to the edge of the pool and threw him into the middle of it before turning around and walking back into the kitchen. I saw Kweli looking at me when I came in empty handed. "You'll see." I answered his looks before I got back to making the breakfast. I heard Kweli burst out laughing and knew Kareem had re-entered the house. "Kareem if you take off the wet clothes I'll put them in the drier, grab a quick shower and get dressed and your breakfast will be ready." "Sean you're not funny! Also how does Kweli get away with laughing at you and me?" "Firstly I am funny Kareem. Secondly I can't throw him into the pool with his cast on and who said he's getting away with it. I've been spitting in his breakfast." This caused Kareem to start laughing again and I turned to see his brown ass leaving the room. "Hey!!" Kweli said We were laughing and singing along to songs. It was not long before Kareem came back and joined in with our fun breakfast. After breakfast I greeted the guys that come to finish off bathroom and also saw the guys that was working on my second house come on the property. The boys and me got into the car and went to the hospital. Once at the hospital I took the boys in to see their mother and from what I could see she looked brighter and more relaxed, for me that could only be a good thing. After a quick hello to Innocence I excused myself leaving the boys with their mom for the day. I made a quick stop to the nurses station to enquire about how Innocence was and was happy to hear that my unqualified assessment was right and that overnight she has made leaps and bounds. It looked like the news I give her has helped her on the way to recovery. Just as I exited the hospital I got a call from the car dealership and was advised that the car I ordered for Innocence was now ready to be collected. I was happy with this and quickly called a taxi. Arriving at the dealership I had a look at the car well suv and was happy with how the car turned out. I made the payment and once I had the keys I pulled out of the dealership and into the nearest car park where I called up my lawyer and advised I wanted to speak to him and would be calling into the office shortly. Then I called the officer that helped me get the property from Innocence's old home and give him a very brief outline of what I wanted and if someone that could help me sort it out could meet me at my lawyers office. Once all that was sorted I pulled out and drove down to the office myself where I was met at the door by my lawyer that was going back into the office after getting drinks for us to have. We quickly got settled in his office and I settled into the seat with a smile. "I know this is a little early to be seeing you after getting over here but there is a few things I need to go through with you." "Is this about your housekeeper Sean?" Came the short reply. "Lol I should of known you would keep a eye on my things. Yes it's mainly about them but also about the citizenship to here. I want it done as quickly as possible." Pulling some papers out of a bag I carried in I continued "these are the stuff the guy at the embassy give me to move it forward so hopefully they can help you get me it ASAP. Thank you Taj." Taj took ahold of the papers and looked through them. "Well these will make things a heck of a lot quicker and easier but I am sure this is not all that you came to see me about." He said with a smile that indicated that he liked what he saw as it would be easy money. "Ok I guess you know what happened to Innocence and the boys and how they are temporary living with me, well I want them out of their lives forever. This is how I plan to do it." I said getting out the papers that I had typed out the night before. I handed them over to Taj to look at. "Are you fucking joking me?" He said looking at me all serious. I shook my head no and he burst out laughing as he said "something as crazy as this might just work if we could get the prosecutors on board." It was now the phone on his desk rang indicating that his receptionist was trying to get in contact with him. "Speak of the devil" I said with a smerk. Taj answered and looked at me with shock on his face as he confirmed that the person could come into the room. The door opened and a strong thin black woman with short shaved hair. "Hello I am Amina Owsmbu from the prosecution service and I was told you would like to see me about a case." She said. Taj went on to describe who I was and the relationship that I had with Innocence and the boys before telling her that I would explain more. I started off by saying that generally cases like these in all countries are very hard to prosecute and that is not fair on the victims of the crimes. I then stated sadly how in the so called "developing" countries it is even harder as they generally still hold onto a older belief system that women especially married women are lower than their husbands. To which I got an angry nod from Amina. I then stated I had a plan on how to get some justice for Innocence and the boys and at the same time getting them out of their lives for good. I then went on to explain my full plan to them and what it would entail. If it all went to plan it would mean it didn't even have to go to court. As I was watching I saw the smile on Amina's face grow. She liked my idea and said if Taj could draw up the information she would go speak to her bosses and the courts about it. She also said that we should meet at the police station where he was being kept in a hours time as she would need to get her papers drawn up and signed off. She had also agreed to allowing me to watch the proceedings from the hidden interview lookout room. Me and Amina left as I went to get a quick bite to eat before we implemented the idea at the station and 40 minutes later met Taj back at the office before we both drove down to the station. We both arrived inside and Taj introduced us to the officer on the desk who escorted me into the room and Taj to the interview room. It was the first chance that I had to see Innocence's husband and you could tell he was a drunk I watched Taj introduce himself to him and he replied showing broken and damaged teeth. It was not long before a officer came and asked if they were ready. Getting the go ahead he started the interview saying that he was being charged with assault on Innocence only the boys were not mentioned this give him a brief smile. The only things that he said where no comment and who put things into his wife's head like that because she is his. The door behind me opened and Amina give me the thumbs up to show that everything was ready to go. I relaxed in my chair to see how this would play out. The next thing I saw was Amina enter the interview room and whisper into the officers ear. This is how the next bit played out. Officer- Mr Okoko this is Amina Owsmbu from the prosecution service and she has come with an offer for you. Amina- Thank you for that Officer. Like the officer said I am from the prosecution and I have an offer for you that you might like to consider before we take this to court. Mrs Okoko said that she will drop all charges to you if you grant her a divorce. She will allow you the house, car and all belongings in it. She will take full custody of the children. She will also requests no money for the upkeep of the children. Also you will sign a restraining order not allowing you within 100 feet of Mrs Okoko for 5 years. Personally I hope you don't take this offer as I am sure I can get a conviction of 10 years in jail. If you would like to discuss this over with your lawyer you can. I watched as Taj whispered something back and forth between himself and Mr Okoko for a minute. Mr Okoko- I will take that offer I will be glad to be away from that fat bitch. I then watched as he signed away any legal rights to the boys. Then he terminated his marriage to Innocence. Finally he signed the restraining order for 5 years without reading it. He did not know that I had a clause put in which meant that if he was in jail the restraining order would not be in affect. Therefore it was for 5 years outside of jail. Amina- Thank you Mr Okoko you are free to go. I watched as Amina stood and started to leave the room. Taj and Mr Okoko started to get up when the officer intervened. Officer- Before you go Mr Okoko I am arresting you on the attempted murder of Kweli Okoko a 10 year old Minor. When I saw his face drop I knew I had him right where I wanted and watched as Amina left the room and waited a few seconds until she joined me in the observation room. We give each other a smile as part one of my idea had worked. We then watched as he used abusive comments towards his own son and even blamed him for getting hurt. Amina has enough and left the room I was surprised to find it took her a few minutes to enter the interview room. Officer- Hello again Ms Owsmbu how can I help you this time. Amina- Much to my disgrain I have been advised to give Mr Okoko another offer. I really hope that he does not take this offer. We will dismiss the case of attempted murder if he pleads guilty to the charge of Assault and battery of a minor in his care. Taj- what punishment is being offered Ms Owsmbu Amina- 7-10 years. 7 years before parole is offered to a maximum of 10 years. With the injuries to Kweli I am confident I can get the attempted murder charge to stick with a minimum of 20 years. I was shocked at this turn of events as we had planed 5-7 years in jail. Amina must not have liked what he was saying and upped the tariff. Mr Obanwambu turned to Taj. Taj- Given the extent of the injuries the best I could do is get you down to assault of a minor and the judges tarrif could be 15 years given the extent of the injuries. I would very strongly advise taking that offer. Mr Okoko- ok I accept this offer. I watched as he signed the paperwork which would put him away for a minimum of 7 years. Amina and Taj then exited the room and I followed suit. "Sean, Taj it has been a pleasure working with you. Although I feel he got off easy this has been a good day." "Amina we got what we wanted. It didn't go to trial and the benefits this will have to that family will be worth more than anything." I said. "Thank you for your help in getting the result I wanted and helping the lives of the family." "Sean if we get Innocence to sign the papers today I can have them to a judge this afternoon and from tomorrow she will be free of him." Taj said "If you follow me to my house I can leave my car there and you can take me to the hospital where the other car is, and we will get this all sorted out today." I replied as we walked out of the police station. We both drove to my house and I parked up the car in the Garage and was met with the Forman as I was leaving. He told me the renovations to my house was now totally completed and that the external walls where completed on the new house downstairs and if they keep up with the work then the second floor would be completed too. I advised I wanted that house to have a lift and a wet room too. He told me it would not be a problem. I then got in with Taj and we went off towards the hospital. It took longer for a lawyer to get to the hospital than I thought and my comment about lawyers being ambulance chasers resulted in me having a dead arm for a few minutes and us both laughing. Taj actually parked his car next to mine which I thought was funny and I explained that the other car was for Innocence to drive as it was a lot safer and give a better image to people. We went into the hospital and into Innocence's room. "Hi boys, hi Innocence this is my lawyer Taj and he has been helping me out with some stuff today. He needs to have a word with mommy so boys can u go get something to eat and I'll come to get you when we are ready." I said handing over some money to Kweli and we watched as they exited the room. "Sean why is he here? It didn't work did it?" Innocence asked me sounding a little dejected. I went to the door and looked down the corridor and was pleased to see that the boys were out of sight. "Innocence your right it didn't work out how I had it planned" I said sadly. "That is why Taj is here he will explain more." I was getting daggers from Taj eyes as I was saying all of this. "Ok Innocence the first thing we did was explain what we were going to do to the officer. I then went in and introduced myself to your husband the officer then come in to conduct a further interview. It was during the interview that the prosecution lawyer entered and said we would drop all charges that he was facing which was only in relation to you. What was offered was to divorce you, a restraining order and termination of his parental rights to the boys." Taj said and took some papers out of his briefcase. "As he was looking at 10-15 years if found guilty at a trial my recommendation that he accept this offer was accepted." Placing a set of papers in front of Innocence he continued "by signing these papers you accept the divorce and that he now solely owns the house, car and all that is in it. Also once you sign this paper the boys are solely your responsibility and he has no legal responsibility to the boys. I will then get them signed by a judge and mail them to Sean but by tonight you will be legally free of him. Do you want to keep his name or do you want to take back your maiden name and will it be the same for the boys?" He finished. Innocence looked at me and I nodded. "Yes I would like me and the boys to have my name of Owamba" She said as she signed the papers. Innocence handed back the papers and asked "As this is all I wanted why did it not go to Plan? This was the plan." She asked us. After handing Innocence some paper before saying "I take it Sean didn't tell you his full plan did he?" He glared at me again as I shrugged. "Ok firstly the papers I give you are the restraining order to say that your ex husband can not contact you or the boys for a period of 5 years when not in jail in any form that includes calls writing and must remain 100 yards from you. He is also not allowed to harass you either himself and by proxy. As for Sean's plan he then wanted him jailed for what he did and was going to plea out 5-7 years for his assault on Kweli. This is what didn't go to plan." He continued. "So what happened then?" Came the reply. "First thing that happened was as we were about to leave as there were no charges against him your ex husband was charged with attempted murder of Kweli." Taj started. "What!!!" Innocence stated totally shocked. "During the interview over this charge the prosecution came back with the offer of 7-10 years if he pleaded guilty to assault of a minor. I would not have got him any less than 15 years and it would of meant that Kweli had to face him in court I advised my client to accept the offer and he reluctantly agreed. So as of today he starts a minimum of 7 years in jail. So you should not see him for a minimum of 12 years if you do he will have broken the law. What I don't know is why the time in jail was increased." Taj finished. "The only thing I can think of was she did not like how he was calling Kweli during the interview and decided that 5 years was not enough." I replied. "Yes that would explain it. Anyway I need to get to court. Innocence it was nice to see you I wish it was under better circumstances. Sean I will bill you tomorrow. Have a good day." Taj said. "Thank you Taj." I replied smiling at Innocence's shocked face. We watched as Taj left the room "Sean? Is it really over?" Innocence asked still a little shocked. "You've done it right?" "Ms Okoko you are free. Yes we have done it. Now just getting you home then back on your feet. I will go get the boys for you to tell them." I said before leaving. I went and found the boys who started to get annoyed at the fact I was not answering their questions. I sent them into the room and I went over to the nurses station. "Hi is it possible to talk to the nurse and doctor overseeing the care of Mrs Okoko please." "Hi I am the nurse in charge of her care and as luck would have it her doctor has just come on his rounds." She signaled over a young looking black man wearing a nice dark suit and white coat. "Dr Murryfield this man would like to have a word about Mrs Okoko." "Hello doctor" I said shaking his hand. "As I said I'm Sean Copper and I am the one paying for Mrs Okoko treatment. She will also be coming back to my place of residence when she is released. It is this I wish to talk to you about. She has today divorced Mr Okoko so I no longer want her to be referred to by this name. It will be Ms Owamba from now on. Also my property has a wet room and wheelchair lift so she will have her Independence there. As for her former husband he has a 5 year restraining order that commenced after he finishes a minimum of 7 years in jail for the assault on her son. So I would like to know when I can take her home?" "Ok I will make a note of the change of name thank you for that information as we would not want to cause any distress to her. As for her going home you have just reassured any concerns that we have had in regards to her leaving hospital. I do have one concern." Dr Murryfield said. "What will that be?" I said. I caught the nurses eye that was indicating for me to turn around and I saw Kareem running down the hall with tears streaming out of his eye. I got down to his level as he launched into my arms knocking us both down and causing me to knock my head on the floor. He was crying that hard and mumbling into my shoulder. The doctor and nurse helped me to my feet and into a room to sit down. Kareem never let go of me the full time. "Kareem? Buddy? I can't understand you and your getting snots on my top." I said and felt a little chuckle. "Is what mommy say true? We won't see daddy again? We have a new name? We are really safe? You really did it?" He said with his head resting on my shoulder. "Yes Mr Owamba all of them questions are Yes!!!" I replied rubbing his back. "Kareem those are happy tears right?" "Yes uncle Sean I love you" he replied. Resting his head on my shoulder again. "What was your concern Dr Murryfield?" I asked. "Well the change in Ms Owamba since last night is incredible and I am worried it is only temporary." He said honestly. "Oh I think that was down to me. Last night we talked about how to get Mr Okoko out of her life. It was what that which lifted the stress from her and possibly allowed her to heal. As he is out of her life for good this will mean that stress stays out of her life. Also the wheelchair in her room is my property so she will be using that." I explained. "Oh that makes plenty of sense. If she has improved in the morning then I will be happy to sign her out into your care. You have done good with the boys and I think you can do the same with Ms Owamba." He said to me. "Does that mean mommy can come home tomorrow?" Kareem asked hopefully. "Well I am 90% sure we will be fetching mommy home with us tomorrow but you can't say anything to mommy ok. I want it to be a surprise for her." I replied as he give me a massive hug again. We all left the room and I took Kareem into the bathroom and washed his face. "There you look pretty again." I said which brought a fit of giggles from him. Having got my little giggle bunny back we went back to the room with Innocence. "Boys it's getting late and your mommy needs her rest to get better and we need to eat and get home. So let's scoot." I said. "Sean before you go can I have a word with you alone?" Innocence asked me. "Sure. Boys go make your way to the waiting room at the end of the hall and I'll be there in a minute." I said and we waited a minute. "Sean I need to thank you for everything thing that you have done for us. You have done so much more than you will ever know. The boys told me what you did this morning to Kareem and that alone give them so much trust in you. If they had laughed at their dad they would have been lucky just to have got a grounding. More often or not they would have been hit. You, you threw him in the pool and make a joke out of it. That has done so much for them so thank you so much." She said to me a little emotional. "Innocence you are very welcome" I said making a massive bow as I left the room to a deep belly laugh from inside. I met the boys and we went home. After the movie and food both boys went to bed as they were tired and I decided that they could have a shower tomorrow. I also decided after the day I had to go to bed myself. "Dad..... dad..... come on dad he is having another one" a voice cut through the darkness. I felt a surge of stress but I could not move. I was panicking as I could not get towards them. I felt movement around me. I was moving up and down was this a earthquake? I opened my eyes and saw Kareem bouncing on my bed wearing just shorts. "Hey tiger what's up?" I said laughing at his antics. "Roooooaaaarrr" Kareem replied to me. "Oh your hungry little tiger? Well we need to get your brother up and u both washed then we will get you both fed. As it's a big day for you both." I replied getting outta bed I picked him up and threw him over my shoulder. I marched us to Kweli's room. Shaking his shoulder I said "Kweli you need to get up. Don't get dressed and meet us in the wet room. I'll take this stinky ass there to wait." I then headed towards the wet room taking off Kareem's shorts on the way and throwing them into his room. His Carmel covered was still sticking up in the air over my shoulder. Walking into the room I adjusted the temperature in the shower area and put Kareem under the spray. I then got out a wash bowl and filled it up to help Kweli with his shower just as he wheeled his way into the room. I got about washing over his exposed body and then getting clean water I rinsed him off before grabbing a towel and drying him. He thanked me and wheeled his way out. I looked up to see Kareem watching me. "What?" I asked. "I.... Um Sean..... Oh never mind." Kareem stumbled over his words. "Come here." I said to him sternly. I watched as he walked to me with his head down so he didn't see me putting soap on the washcloth. Once he was over to me I reached out and started to gently wash his chest. His head whipped up to look at me and his eyes filled with tears. I soaped up his chest in silence then his back and finally his legs. "Kareem do you want the rest?" I looked at him and saw him nod his head slowly. I then washed his rounded buttt before turning him around. When I did it I noticed that he was fully hard and it was at my eye level. I then washed his hard 3 inches noticing that he was above average like his brother. Finally I moved up and washed his short hair. I then sent him under the shower to rinse off. Once that was complete Kareem turned around to see me standing waiting with a towel for him. He quickly turned off the shower and practically floated to me to get dry. I had noticed that his tears had stopped. Once he was dry I sent him to his room to dress and wait for me there. I followed him out trying hard not to chuckle at his dowsing rod swinging away in front of him leading him to his room. I went into mine had a quick shower and got dressed. It was time for a talk with Kareem. Meeting him in the room with him sitting on his bed and I grabbed his chair and sat down. "Kareem what was the tears for in the bathroom" "I've never had a man do that for me and you were so kind and it was like you loved me." He said. "Kareem it's not a problem and next time you can just ask me. The worst I could do is say no. The worst you could do is not ask. I promise that if I say no I will explain why and it will only be for a good reason." "Ok uncle Sean. Next time I will ask. But you are like what I always thought a daddy should be like." "I understand Kareem. I think a uncle is better to be for you boys. Because it means I still get to love you, do all the fun stuff with you guys." "You love us?" "Of course I do now get here and give me a cuddle. Then you can get your mom some clothes and put it in a bag in case she is coming home today." I finished as Kareem launched himself off the bed and locked me in a bear hug before giving me a kiss and skipping to his moms bedroom. I walked down to the kitchen as I sent his mom a message letting her know what happened with Kareem this morning. As I was finishing off the meal and about to eat I got a message back saying thank you. We finished the breakfast and got in the car and it was not long before we got to the hospital. We went to Innocence room and walking passed the nurses station one of the nurses caught my eye and nodded. I took that to mean that Innocence was going to be discharged today. We sat around doing small talk and it was not long before the doctor came and after doing a quick assessment he give the good news that Innocence was coming home with us. The boys cheered and Kareem give a small victory dance before I stopped him and pointed to the bag. He went over and give the bag with the clothes to his mom. I ushered them out and went to the nurses station to fill in all the paperwork and get information needed to care for her at home. I had been finished that not long when Innocence called for me. I went in and she was there ready to go. I grabbed the wheelchair and with a thank you to everyone we left the hospital. The 2 chairs filled up the boot and the boys almost filled up the back seat as they allowed Innocence to sit in the front. Half way back to the house I nearly jackknifed the car as a young boy went running passed me wearing really torn and bad clothes. I don't know why but I jumped out of the car and shouted for Kareem to help me out. I followed the boy into a dead end street where he seemed to have cornered himself. I went to approach him and got a very angry out bury of his native language. "Kareem he looks like he is homeless or from a very bad house. He is not trusting of adults for some reason. Also I feel I need to help him. I need you to help him trust me and come with us but don't put yourself in danger." I said to him. Feeling it was the right thing to do I left the street and stood next to the car as I saw a heated conversation between Kareem and the kid. I saw him pick up something and take aim at Kareem. That was it I was off running and just managed to shield Kareem as a stone bounced off the back of my head. "Taw eid kof saw tid riv?" (What the fuck was that for) Kareem shouted at the boy. "Mokeoh teh yh tid neodeg?" (Why did he do that?) The boy asked back in shock. "Soos ke uoj sella letrev taw yh liw neod, si pluh ne yh si n' eieog uo" (like I told you all he wants to do is help and he is a good guy) Kareem shot back. "Ke si os remmaj. Ke knid ke naag ouj uortrev. Gaw reih." (I'm so sorry. I think I'm going to trust you. Wait here.) The boy said running off. "What was that about? Are you ok? Where did he go? Am I bleeding?" I said to Kareem as I watched the boy run out of the street. Kareem leaned over my head and touched where the rock hit me causing me to wince. "I don't want to tell you what that was about. I am ok thank you uncle Sean. I don't know where he went but he asked us to wait. Yes you are bleeding." He said back to me. Kareem helped me over to the car where we waited leaning against it for the boy. "Kareem please tell what he said" "Uncle Sean he thought you were a perv." He replied sullenly. "It's ok I thought he might. A strange guy approaching a young boy on the streets I would have thought the same." I replied. We waited a few more minutes for the boy to come back and I was surprised to see that he come back with another boy. With Kareem's help we got them both into the car and I headed off home. As I was driving I told Kareem when we got home to run in and get 3 of the watches they would need. I heard him softly translating as I was talking. As I pulled up to the drive I heard 2 gasps from the back and again when I pulled up in the garage. Kareem jumped out of the car and shot into the house as I helped Innocence and Kweli into their wheelchairs. I heard Kweli talking and I guessed he was explaining about the chairs. "Sean what is that?" Innocence said to me pointing to the new car. "Well it's a car. If you don't know that maybe u need to go back to the hospital" I replied. "I know it's a car you idiot what I mean is why is it here?" "Well I had to park it somewhere until you can drive it again silly." "Sean we need to talk about you buying us stuff." She said as I blocked my ears and pretended not to hear her. But I did hear the new boys giggling as Kweli was translating for them. Kareem then burst back through the door waving the watches in his hand. I had Innocence and the new boys put on the watches and with the help of the boys I explained to them how the watches worked. To say that everyone was impressed was a understatement. After this we all went inside. I calibrated Innocence's watch to her and to the boys who I found out was called Ash and Luca. I then had Kareem take the boys to the wet room and get them underwear, tracksuit bottoms and a t shirt from his and Kweli's room and to tell them to come to the family room when they were finished. It didn't take log for Kareem to pop back into the family room. We were all relaxed into the room when I put into a call to Caroline Foster and asked her to come over and fetch over 2 fostering paperwork. Once she said she would call in on her way back to the office. I hung up and we all relaxed into the room. Kareem cuddling up to me. Remembering about my injury I had poor Kareem grab the first aid box from the kitchen and had Innocence patch up my head. We were waiting for 15 minutes when both Ash and Luca wandered back into the room looking refreshed and clean and wearing the clothes provided. They had just got settled when the doorbell rang and I went to get it. I was surprised to see it was Caroline as she got to the house quicker than I thought she would. I let her into the house and showed her into the family room. I explained the situation with Ash and Luca and explained that I wanted to foster them to get them back on the right track. We sat there as Caroline went through some questions with the boys and I will spare you the details as I didn't understand a word of it when Al decided to interrupt the lot of us and scaring the living daylights out of all but me and Innocence sons. "Sir there appears to be some commotion going on in Ms Fosters car." "Oh no Lucifer must be having a episode he has autism." She said getting up. "Why did you leave a boy in the car and Al how to help a boy with autism having an episode." I said "Sir, people with Autism find being strongly hugged calms them down." Came the reply over the speakers. I got up out of my seat and passed Caroline as I ran out of the room. I made it to the car quickly and picked the boy out of car and hugged him into me compressing him into my body and clothes. However this was not the right thing to do as he started to scream and fight me. His screams stopped as his teeth sunk into my neck. Not knowing what to do I picked him up and ran into the house with him beating on my back and kicking the tops of my legs. I could feel the blood running down my neck. I got back in the room and shouted to Caroline "have you got any idea how to stop this?" Seeing her shake her head no I put him down and watched as he backed right up against the wall and hugged his body close to itself. "Al why do they like to be cuddled?" "The deep touch pressure causes the individual to focus on the pressure and not on all the external chaos going on around them. It causes the nervous system to relax and the brain to increase endorphin levels whilst reducing blood pressure and heart rate. Some people believe that this is because it mimics being in utero" "Hmmm well that didn't work for me. Wait Al cross reference autism and clothes." I replied seeing him fidget with some of his clothes. Whilst still rocking backwards and forwards making a small repetitive moaning noise. "Sir many people with autism have a hypersensitivity to things around them and this can include some or all types of clothes and for example the labels on clothes have to be removed to stop that sensation in most people on the autistic spectrum." Came over the speakers. "Kareem run and get me a clean sheet from the laundry room. I have a idea." I said as he took off running. I looked over at Caroline who appeared deep in thought and the new boys that where watching me intensely and noticing that I was bleeding. Kareem came back and handed me the sheet. I lay it out flat on the floor and turned it into a square by folding part of it in on itself. I then went to Lucifer and rubbed his hand with a lot of pressure. This calmed him a tiny amount but enough for me to stand him up and move him over to the sheet. I then folded one of the corners in so it created a flat edge about the width of his shoulders. Then I stripped him down to his threadbare underwear which relaxed him a tiny bit more and helped him lie in the middle of the sheet with his head sticking above the line I made. When in position I knew the next bit would be hard to do. I softly moved his left arm over his body and then tightly (but not tight enough to restrict his breathing) moved the left side of the sheet over his body and tucking the spare bits under his back securing the fold in place. The next bit I did was place his right arm across his body and move his legs up so his knees where next to his chest (you don't do this when wrapping baby's). I then took the bottom of the sheet and pulled it up to the right shoulder. I did not make this as tight as it would allow for leg movement to stop cramping. Next I folded the right side snugly across the body holding it in place with my hand as I took the bit that was loose next to the right foot and folded it up and across the body to the left shoulder. I then tucked that into the inside of the back of the sheet in effect cocooning him in the soft cotton sheet. Having done that and feeling him relax into it I picked up the boy and sat with him on my knee. I could feel his movements start to relax and his vocal noises where diminishing too. To me this was a good sign. Ash looked over to me and said "Reenem, moraaw teh yj po ys erelkredno soleg eot yj ys erelk kertegfa teh?" "Sir, why did you leave his underwear on when you took off his clothes?" Kweli translated. "Oh there was no need for them to be removed so I didnt" I replied "Ha, elluh feoh ein redywrev et drow ein, os ke teh ein." Kareem translated back. I saw the boys nod and look at each other and I could see Caroline watching me with Lucifer who was slowing starting to calm down and relax. She also noticed the blood and I shrugged it off saying he didn't mean it. But it didn't stop her from cleaning it up. As she did she noticed the cut in my head that Innocence patched up to which I said "protecting Kareem from Ash's stones." I left it at that. After that she sat back down and dropped a massive bombshell on me. "Sean I will let you foster Ash and Luca on one condition."
