There they met Fiorenzo and Carlo. Gustavo at once got on well with them and they all chatted together with pleasure. Then Dario took Gustavo onto the small island, "Here, see. This is the place I told you about. I would like making love here with you, under the sun, amongst the green, with the noise of the water in the background..." "It is really beautiful. Yes, it's a real earthly paradise. Come here..." his friend said, drawing Dario to himself on the beach towel that he had already spread on the ground. Dario let himself relax on his friend's strong body. "Curley, I desire you so much. And it is beautiful desiring you." "Yes, make me feel all your desire. Your virility enhances mine..." "Yes. How can people think that gay is a synonym of unmanly? Your virility enhances mine too." "Anyway, there are also effeminate gays..." "It could be so, but surely not your case. It is possibly also because of that I like you so much. Also your friends there on the bank are not effeminate, and I like them." "Would you make love with Carlo, or with Fiore?" "I don't know. If I knew them better, who knows? But now I'm full of you, I've no time to look at others." "And with Luca, or Marcello, would you make love?" "Possibly yes. But now I am full of you..." Gustavo repeated, kissing and caressing him. "And I like feeling filled by you, Gus... Take me!" "Yes... Come here... so... yes..." "Oh, Gus..." "Curley... I like you so much!" Gustavo murmured pushing Dario's legs against his chest and slowly sinking into him, while a radiant smile was lighting his beautiful face. Dario spread his legs to make room for his friend's chest, so he could lie fully on him and kiss him on the mouth. Dario felt him throb inside him. They brushed each others' nipples with their fingertips and finally Gustavo started to move in a gentle and yet vigorous rhythm. "It's good doing it under the sun, Gus, isn't it?" "It's always good with you, Curley." "I like when you take me so, because I can look at your face, in your eyes." "And what do you see in them?" "Love, passion, pleasure, vigor, tenderness, desire, virility, gentleness..." "Nothing more?" the friend asked with a smile and lowered onto him again to kiss him, continuing, determined but light, to sink and withdraw with a strong and solemn rhythm. "Goodness, how beautiful you are, Gus!" "You too, Curley." When they went back to the bank, Carlo said, with a smile, "Hey, you two, were you trying to set up the endurance record?" Gustavo blushed slightly, but smiled. Meanwhile also Silvano had also arrived. Dario introduced Gustavo to the professor. "Ah, so you are Gus! Pleased to meet you. Curley often spoke to me about you." "And to me about you, mister." The boy answered shaking hands. "Drop that mister, even though I'm an old man." "An old man? You? I don't really think so. And anyway age is the last thing." "Thank you, Gus. You play the saxophone, right? I came to hear your band several times and I like your music very much." "It seemed to me I noticed you... Is it not you who is making our new poster?" "Yes. It is already at the printing works..." "I saw the prototype. It's really beautiful." "Thank you." They laid down and chatted. Dario offered a cigarette to the professor. Fiorenzo and Carlo went to the island. Gus watched them going with a smile. Then he asked Silvano, "Do you have a steady boy, Prof?" "Not at present." "Curley showed me your book. The nudes you drew, were they all your boys?" "No, I wouldn't have published them if they were. They are imagined drawings." "Ah. There is so much... sentiment, in those drawings." "I love a male body, its shapes." "Yes, I understand. You were saying that you like our music..." "Very much. I enjoy it... with all my body." "Good. Somewhat like us when we play it, then." "Yes, Gus. Physicalness is important. Our civilization, our culture always aims to separate what is spiritual from what is material, physical. I think this is a bad mistake. Man is spirit-body as an indissoluble united reality. That's why he is longing for eternity." "Are you a believer?" "Yes, in the sense that I believe a god must exist, the soul exists." "And hell and paradise?" "Also, but in the sense that we make them. We choose one or the other of them with all our life style. It is not a prize or a condemnation coming from... from another." "We make them here, in our daily life." Dario said. "That also, but even more for the life that will come after this one." "So, you think we don't cease to exist with our death?" "Right. Man in my opinion doesn't cease to live with his death." "Reincarnation?" "No, the body is unique, it is not like a dress we change. Each soul has its own body, the only right one." "But then, whoever is ugly has an ugly soul?" "No, if somebody seems ugly to us, it is just because we are not able to see clearly. In reality nobody exists who is really ugly." "But then, nobody can exist who is really beautiful?" Gustavo asked, interested. "Exactly so. It is us who think we see beauty and ugliness. Because of the formation... or de-formation we receive since our childhood. Because of fashion and habit. Also because of some superficiality." "But there are some things we like and some things we don't like..." Gustavo insisted. "Certainly, like food. But we know very well that food that we don't like can be judged delicious by others. It is only a question of habit, of education. Therefore we would have to learn to say - I like it or I don't like it, instead of - it's beautiful, it's ugly. It would be way more honest and true." Dario was looking at Gustavo and Silvano engaged in their conversation. And he became aware that, without exaggeration, his friend was fascinated by the professor. Yes, sure, he thought, the Prof is really an extraordinary man. Being near him, talking with him, looking at him gave a sense of golden quietness, of safety, of peace. From the professor was emanating wisdom, strength, attention, generosity... He was skilled in speaking, but also in listening, in understanding. He really was a complete man. And for the first time Dario was aware the the professor was beautiful! It was almost like a surprise for the boy. He had already felt that the man was more beautiful than he could seem at a first sight. But now, that same nudity of the man, seemed beautiful to him. He was wearing his nakedness with simplicity, with grace, with an unconscious elegance. For the first time Dario perceived that body as attractive. Not only the man and his personality, but also his body. He was distracted from his contemplation by the laughter and voices of Fiorenzo and Carlo who were coming back from the island. He looked at Fiorenzo. Undoubtedly he had a really beautiful body. More muscled and firm than that of the professor, younger and more athletic. But not for that more beautiful, he thought for the first time. This reversal of judgement, also aesthetic, left him astounded. He looked at Gustavo. His body was stirring up in him the tenderness of the shared intimacy, the fascination of a body of which he knew each fold, each curve. It was a different kind of beauty... He looked once again at Silvano's body... When they were back home, while Gustavo was fixing their supper, Dario asked him, "What do you think about the Prof?" "An exceptional person! Really fascinating." "Yes. But there is one thing that really amazed me, today." "What's that?" "While you were talking, today, I had the clear perception that he is physically really beautiful as well. And yet, objectively, Fiore is way more beautiful than him, and also you or Carlo, or..." "Fiore's beauty is striking, that of the Prof is discreet. Fiore's beauty is statuesque, that of the Prof is... human." "Then, you too felt that the professor is beautiful?" "Yes, very much. I think I would like getting to know him better, becoming his friend. He looks inside you, he really listen to you, he makes you feel important even when he says he doesn't agree with you..." They started eating and changed subject. But at a certain point Gustavo said, looking his friend in the eyes, "I could well see you and him together. Yes, you and the Prof." "The Prof and I? I don't think he is interested in me..." "You think not? I got a different impression." "No... And then, it never happens like that, does it? Or possibly you got tired of me?" He asked in a joking tone. Gustavo gave him a caress, "No, I didn't get tired of you at all. But you know that our relationship will come to an end, sooner or later. And I... I would like seeing you settled down and happy. I would like it to be you who leaves me, before I do so. I really love you, you know it. And I really believe you could be happy with him... and he with you." "You're so sweet, Gus..." "I simply love you. Why don't you think about it, why don't you try? Don't you like the Prof?" "Yes, very nuch, I told you. In fact, I like him more and more. But he never made me understand anything, or guess anything." "Possibly just because he knows you are with me, don't you think? And before me you were with Lallo." "You think so?" "I'm quite sure." "Gus..." "Yes, Curley?" "But for the moment... you still want me, don't you?" "Of course! Come here, sit on my legs... Sure I still want you, Curley. I feel so good with you..." "Wouldn't you feel sorry if I left you?" "Not if I see you are happy. You and I are travel companions, for a stretch of road, but not forever; you know it very well; we both know it. But you're not mine and I'm not yours, even though our intimacy is beautiful, even though it is so good making love with you. You have enriched me very much with your love, Curley. But you have to live your life..." "We are not just friends..." "No, much more." "But neither lovers..." "No, neither lovers." "What are we, then?" "It could possibly be necessary to invent a new word." "Can we invent it?" Gustavo smiled and ruffled his friend's hair with a gesture full of affection. Dario caressed his chest and leaned his head between Gustavo's neck and shoulder, brushing his lips against his jaw. "You are arousing me, so..." "It bothers you, Gus?" "No... I love it..." the boy answered caressing the incipient erection between Dario's legs. Dario got down from his friend's legs and made him stand up, "Come to bed..." "Yes, our beautiful wide bed." After they had started making love, they had combined their two beds, Gustavo's single with Dario's queen-size, so that now they had a really wide place on which to exchange their passionate love effusions. They went onto it holding hands, filled with mutual desire, and started to make love. Later, Dario silently got off the bed. Gustavo was sleeping serenely, languidly abandoned on the crumpled sheets. He went to bring his friend's camera and checked the picture counter: there were still eleven shots left. He connected the flash and went near the bed again. He studied the framing and took the first shot. He saw with satisfaction that the flash hadn't disturbed his friend's sleep. He studied a second framing and shot again. Then a third, and a fourth. Then he focused the zoom on the details of the beloved, beautiful body. He photographed his muscled legs, his pelvis with the beautiful big soft member, then the chest, the hands, the face. He then had an idea. He went nearer to his friend and lightly caressed his genitals until he got an answer and it became hard. He shot a close up. Then he stepped back again, prepared the new framing and then he called his friend. When Gustavo woke up and opened his eyes, as soon as he was aware what Dario was doing and was about sitting up with a smile, Dario took the last shot. "Hey, do you want to sell them to a porno magazine?" "No, I want to keep them in my safe." "But you don't have a safe!" Gustavo jested, lazily stretching. "I'll buy one expressly." "But that's not fair... I too want to take your pictures." "The roll is finished, sorry..." "Hey, but you took pics with my thing hard!" "Sure, he is beautiful too." "Don't tell him, or he might believe it!" Gustavo jested. "He is so beautiful that I feel like kissing him!" "Oh! He just looks forward to that, don't you know?" Dario, after rewinding and extracting the roll, put the camera down and went back to the bed. "Hey, no, Curley! You have first to kiss me and only after, if you want, you can also kiss him..." Gustavo said pulling him on his body and kissing him in the mouth with abandon. They were just uniting in that tender and passionate kiss, when the door bell rang. "Who can it be? What time is it?" Gustavo asked, looking at the alarm clock on the night table, "Already nine! We've slept a lot..." The bell rang again. "Are you going to open it?" Gustavo asked. "Alright, but you wait here, for me." "Sure." Dario put on a dressing gown and, while tying it, he went to open the door. It was Luca. "Were you still sleeping?" he asked merrily. "No, we were already awake..." "Ah. Did I... interrupt something?" "Yes. But at this point, you can come in." "I wanted to talk with you about a project... but if you want I can come later..." Gustavo appeared in the doorway with his jeans on, "Luca! Come in. I'll fix breakfast. You'll eat with us?" "Just a coffee, thank you. I'm sorry if I have interrupted you, but..." "It's our fault. We should have put the milk bottle outside the door as we used to do..." Gustavo answered merrily. Luca, who knew about that signal, laughed heartily. "You could just not answer, anyway..." "Oh, we were just beginning. Don't worry we will get back to it later. But what did you want to tell us?" Dario asked, sitting near Luca. "Wait for Gus to come back, Curley. Ah, Gianna asked me to say hi to you." "How is she?" "Fine. Yes, she's fine." Gustavo came with two dishes, one for Dario and one for him and three coffees. While they were eating, Luca started to tell them about his project. "Gianna gave me this idea. I already talked with Roby. I would also have talked with Marce but he is at present in the village with Tania, so I'm starting to tell you two. What do you think about a tour of the Eastern nations? Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Russia..." "The ex-communist lands? Well... why not." "Gianna says it is a market that is just opening. We could sell nicely there if we make a promotional tour. Her uncle says he can organize the tour, it would cost very little and we could have great success. We could double or even triple our profits..." "But isn't the second Italy Jazz Tour almost starting?" Gustavo asked. "Gianna says that we will get a bigger profit if we tour the Eastern countries. We can take part in the Jazz Tour next year. We are well known in Italy, now, and enough also in Western Europe. And who knows, after the East, also Japan, Australia, South and North America..." "Hey, hey, hey! Aren't you aiming too high?" Gustavo asked, laughing. "No. We are perfectly able to compete with the foreign Jazz Bands. Also with the USA bands, even though it would be better to leave the States till last." "Tania and the child?" "Well.. they can stay here with her family, I think." "Would Marce accept? And Tania? They would not be together for months..." Dario pointed out. "Well, I hope he would accept. At times it is also good to be far away for a while, isn't it?" Luca answered. "Anyway it's Marce who has to decide. He is less free than us." Gustavo answered. "But would you agree to go on tour to the East?" "Luca, do you remember that time we had to give an answer to that senator, there in Naples? It is not so very different now. We have to decide all together." Dario answered. "Yes, you are right. Our strength has always been in our unity. But we have to take a decision soon. What do you think if we go now to Tania and Marce's village? With my car we will be there in less than an hour." "All right, Luca. Just give us time to dress and we can go." ----------------------------- CONTINUES IN CHAPTER 12 ----------------------------- In my home page I've put some more of my stories.
