Sparky Marcus and the cub - Chapter 16 By Sparky The area Shawn, Patrick and the team from Revelstoke were assigned to search was in north Vancouver, they crossed the harbour using the Highway 1 bridge which had survived the Tsunami, the bridge was designed to survive ice flows smashing against it so it was very strong. It took time to get there as the roads were having to be cleared with heavy construction equipment. As they passed over the bridge behind a shovel loader that was clearing the way for them, they looked down at the river and could see no water, it was just a mass of floating debris. They could make out parts of buildings, cars, tanks, timber and so much more, it was like the river was now just a soup of what was once the city. They passed boats and ships that once sat in the harbour but were now laying on their sides far inland. They passed power lines that lay on the ground although they knew all power had been disconnected from the city so the rescue workers would be safe. Fires were starting to rage in partially destroyed buildings which had required water bomber planes to be brought in to fight the fires. The smell of smoke and sewage permeated the air as they drove through the city. They passed other rescue teams on their way to Seymour Heights, the area they had been assigned to search. Being a mountain rescue team it was felt they were better suited to search the more elevated and rural areas rather than the main city itself. With the middle of the hill side community being 100m above sea level, Seymour Heights had not been hit as hard as the main city, but still the force of the tsunami had pushed water up to the area and destroyed many of the houses in the lower areas. The higher part of the community was relatively untouched and the rescue teams found many people who lived in that part had taken in those who lived further down the mountain. The problem the people who's homes survived untouched faced now was that there was now no power or mains water. The rescue teams took over Blueridge elementary school which had got wet but not damaged. The school would give them a place to take survivors and set up a first aid post. By early afternoon the schools sports field was being used as a landing site for helicopters as the more serious casualties were flown out to hospitals that were already full and struggling to cope. The schools gymnasium was being used to keep the bodies of those who had lost their lives till a refrigerated truck could be brought to the site. Classrooms were being used to house families while they waited to be evacuated from the city, local church volunteers were using the schools kitchen to make hot food as the school had its own large propane tanks and a generator. Shawn, Patrick and their team searched the destroyed houses and were grateful to find very few casualties or deceased people. "We're lucky to be up here" Patrick sighed as they stopped to get a hot drink and some food at the school. "Yeah... I cant imagine what it is like searching down in the city" Shawn lamented. "There must be so many bodies" Patrick said sadly. "Yeah... but we got to focus on these people here" Shawn said putting his hand on Patrick's shoulder. "I know... its just a lot to take in... never thought this would actually happen" Patrick sighed. One of the volunteers brought them both another hot dog each which they were very grateful for, like everyone the adrenaline had long worn off and they were both feeling tired and exhausted, they hoped food and coffee would keep them going till dark when they would be forced to stop searching. They were sure by the time night came they would have searched all the houses they needed too and would dealing more with keeping those that survived alive and well. They had been told to stay at the school and organise the efforts there till the army could take over from them. By night fall a refrigerated truck had been brought to the school and the bodies had been moved into the truck to keep them cold. The gym was cleaned by volunteers and made ready to be used to house victims of the flood waters. Back in Revelstoke the boys had slept for a couple of hours catching up on their lost sleep. After their nap they were full of energy again and hungry. "You feel better?" Taylor asked Ryan. "Yeah... I'm glad I am here but... I'm sad my old house is gone too" Ryan explained sadly. "Well I am just happy your safe!" Marcus said as he hugged Ryan tightly. "Yeah me too" Taylor added hugging Ryan also. "Lets go get some food" Taylor said after a minute as he was sure his tummy was rumbling. The boys all got dressed and headed downstairs where Toni and Tess were talking in the lounge, they had been trying to figure out what to do tomorrow as Taylor and Marcus were supposed to start school again. They knew their boys wouldn't want to leave Ryan at home, even though he would be with his parents and uncle. Toni went to call the schools headmaster while Tess got the boys some food. They had decided to see if they could get Ryan enrolled as he and his family would not be returning to the now destroyed Vancouver. As the boys finished eating in front of the TV they heard the driveway alarm go off, Tess smiled at Toni who smiled knowingly back. "Who's that?" asked Marcus. "Don't know... why don't you go see?" Toni chuckled. Marcus got up and looked out the window, he turned back into the room and smiled at Ryan. "Its for you Ryan" Marcus giggled making Toni and Tess laugh. "What?... who is it?" Ryan said as he walked over to the window. As he stared out he saw Jared and tears came to his eyes, he ran to the door and opened it, he stood for a moment before running out and into Jared's arms. Toni and Tess came to stand at the window and watched, they could see Jared was comforting Ryan as he held the boy in his strong arms. As brave as Ryan felt he needed to be around the others, in Jared's arms he felt able to let his feels out, as safe as his parents and his friends made him feel, he never felt safer as he did held in Jared's protective embrace. The teen took a minute to just hold Ryan and let him cry. Jared eventually carried Ryan back inside where Tess hugged Jared with Ryan still in his arms. "How was the drive?" Tess asked her son. "Long... but I had to come back" Jared said feeling tired from the journey. "Why did you have to come back?" Ryan asked wiping the tears from his eyes and looking into Jared's face confused. "For you silly" Jared chuckled. "For me?" Ryan asked still confused and sniffing in his runny nose. "Yes... I had to come back to make sure you were ok" Jared said as he kissed Ryan's forehead. "You could have just phoned!" Ryan said starting to smile. "I know... but hugs don't work over the phone" Jared said hugging Ryan tight again. "Go sit down and I'll get you some food" Tess said softly pushing them towards the sofas. Jared sat down with Ryan in his lap, Marcus and Taylor joined them, they started to tell Jared about everything that had happened last night. While Jared ate with Ryan cuddled into his side Sandy, Rhett and Reed came downstairs, they walked into the lounge and saw Ryan cuddled up to a teenager. "You must be Jared" chuckled Rhett. "I can see why Ryan likes him" laughed Reed. "Behave you two!... don't mind them... they're just teasing" Sandy said as she sat next to Ryan. "Hi... yeah I'm Jared" the teen replied feeling a little concerned having Ryan fawning all over him with his parents in the room. "This one hasn't stopped talking about you since he came home... so its nice to meet you in person" Sandy said warmly. "Now who's teasing?" chuckled Reed. "Don't listen to them" Ryan said smiling as he placed his hand around Jared's arm and hugged it. "I thought you were in Calgary?" Rhett said as he sat on the other side of Jared. "Er I was but... I came back when I heard about the tsunami" Jared said feeling a little more pressure with Ryan's parents either side of him. "I see... Ryan's lucky to have someone who cares enough to come check on him" Rhett said smiling genuinely. Jared sat there wanting to eat but feeling very distracted, he wasn't sure what, if anything Ryan's parents knew about the relationship he had with their much younger son. The nervousness was evident on his face and Sandy could see it. "Sorry Jared we don't mean to make you nervous... look... Ryan likes you and you make him happy... as long as he is happy whatever you two... or four" Sandy said looking at Taylor and Marcus with a smile "get up to is fine with us" Rhett nodded in agreement as did Reed. Taylor and Marcus blushed a little as did Jared and Ryan. "That's goes for us too" Tess said as she and Toni smiled at them all. "Have you heard from dad?" Taylor asked changing the subject to save his brother from further embarrassment. "Yes... Patrick and daddy along with the rest of our rescue team are in a place called Seymour Heights... it is not as bad as the main city and many parts of the community are untouched... they think they will finish searching today and then they will help take care of the people there till the army takes over" Tess explained. "Seymour Heights is nice... we park there to go on the trials into the forest" Rhett explained. "Well most of it is fine... but they have no power or running water... so no ones sure if they will need to be evacuated yet" Tess explained. "So when will daddy be coming home?" asked Marcus. "Not sure... probably in a few days... they just have to wait till the army takes over till then they will be looking after the locals and helping them clear up" Tess explained. "Oh that reminds me... you need to go online and register your losses... the government said that while you were asleep... I think they said they would payout market value for the houses and something towards the contents... they are going to decide what to do with the city at some point in the future" Toni told them. "We should probably start looking for a new house then" Sandy suggested. "Can we get one here?" Ryan asked quickly. "We that's something we need to talk about... although I don't see why not..." Rhett replied looking to Sandy and Reed to see if they agreed. "Well my job is gone so I don't see why not" Sandy told them. "And we can work anywhere" added in Reed. "Well let us look into it ok?" Rhett said to Ryan as he leaned over Jared to rub his sons head. A little later Rhett and Reed with help from the boys emptied their truck bringing in the bags so they could unpack, they knew they would be staying here for a while. Toni helped Reed put their guns away in Patrick's gun safe and their camping gear was stowed in the basement. "Guess we could finish off basement while we're here" Reed suggested to Rhett as the finished unloading into the basement. "Yeah... we'll get the job finished at Kamloops and bring the tool trailer back here" Rhett replied. Luckily for Rhett and Reed their tool trailer was at Kamloops about 2 hours away from Revelstoke where they had been working. They had left it there rather than tow it all the way home which meant that they still had all their tools and could still work. While Rhett, Reed and the boys unloaded the truck Toni talked to Sandy about Ryan going to school with Marcus and Taylor. Sandy agreed that sending Ryan to school was the best thing to do, Toni explained that the headmaster was happy for Ryan to start on Monday with the other boys, but he would be in the year above Marcus. Sandy would have to go into the school on Monday too so she could enrol him officially. When the boys were told Marcus and Taylor were asked to make sure Ryan had everything he needed to start his new school. "Come on lets go find what you need!" Marcus said as he dragged a still shocked Ryan upstairs. Ryan was not expecting to be going to school tomorrow and was a little apprehensive, but he knew if they were going to stay here he would have to do it. Marcus found a rucksack he had used last year as a school bag, he had been treated to a new one for this term. The boys got together pens and stationary then helped pick out clothes for school from the ones Ryan's mum had brought with them. "It will be my first day too" Marcus told Ryan as they talked about the school. "At least you already know some of your class mates" Ryan replied. "True... but I wasn't friends with any of them" Marcus explained. "You know we are gonna meet up a break times and we'll be riding the bus together" Taylor assured Ryan. "And if we go to school early we can show you around before lessons start" Marcus said smiling at Ryan. "Yeah... I like that idea!" Ryan told them. "You'll be fine... I reckon with you being a survivor your gonna be quite popular" Taylor smiling at Ryan too. "A survivor?... well I guess so... its like twice now you have rescued me" Ryan said thinking about it. "And we'll do it again if we need to... your part of our... family now" Taylor said giving Ryan a hug. Taylor had wanted to say pack, but now was not the time. He knew in his heart it would not be long before he told Ryan about the wolf stuff. He knew Ryan would accept it as Marcus had done. The families in Revelstoke ate dinner together and watched TV into the evening, the news channels were filled with reports about the Tsunami, Ryan and his family had seen from a helicopter image that their was indeed gone. Rhett took Jared out to get firewood and assured him that he, sandy and Reed were ok with Ryan's and Jared's relationship. He explained about his and Reed's relationship to help Jared understand why they were ok with it. Jared assured Rhett he would never hurt Ryan and loved him very much. At bedtime Ryan begged Jared to stay or let him go home with him, so it was agreed for tonight that Jared would stay with the boys. After a long and emotional day Marcus cuddled up to Taylor in bed with Ryan cuddled up to Jared next to them. Before long they were fast asleep. Tess returned home and called Shawn to tell him everything was ok at home, Toni did the same with Patrick. The two men bunked down in a classroom at the school they were using, they were surrounded by their team members and locals who had lost their homes. At first light the helicopters resumed evacuation flights, Patrick, Shawn and their team were up early and manning the landing site. Only those wounded and their families were be flown out, those who had lost their homes and were not injured would start to be evacuated by army trucks later in the day. Many asked were they would be taken, but all Patrick knew was that hotels all over Canada were being used to house Vancouver's refugees till they could find new permanent homes. The power company had promised to try and get large generators out to the surviving communities so they could stay in their homes, tankers of clean drinking water were also being sent out to the surviving communities till the mains water could be brought back into safe working order. It had been decided over night to try and keep as many people in their own homes as possible as re-housing those who had lost their homes was all ready crippling the available resources. Back in Revelstoke Jared woke up early too, he was a little confused at first as to why someone was cuddled up to him, but soon remembered where he was and why. He felt the warmth of Ryan soaking into his body it felt nice and a little arousing. But he knew this morning was not the time to be having naughty fun, he knew the boys had to go to school and didn't want to get them all worked up and horny. He gently shook the boys awake. "Wakey wakey" he said gently as he stroked Ryan's head. He watched Ryan open his eyes slowly and when their eyes met Ryan smiled. "Morn'in" Ryan said sleepily. "You sleep ok?" Jared asked. "Yeah... sooo good!" Ryan giggled. "You wanna go grab a quick shower with me?" Jared asked grinning. "Yeah!" relied Ryan happily. "Ok... Taylor... you and Marcus need to get up too... you have school remember" Jared said as he reached over and ruffled his brothers hair. The bed had been a little crampt, but they had all slept well. "Ok...ok... were getting up" Taylor said enjoying the affection from his older brother. "Lets go use mums shower" Marcus said as he sniffed his arm pits and giggled. "I could just lick you clean" Taylor chuckled as he leaned up over Marcus and started to lick his chest. Marcus squealed and laughed as Ryan and Jared giggled too. "That might have to wait till later" Jared chuckled as he climbed out of the bed. All eyes watched Jared and focused on the teens big dick, his morning erection suddenly became the object of attention. Ryan reached out and gently held it grinning wildly. "I said later" Jared chuckled as he reached down and picked up the naked Ryan. Ryan wrapped his legs around Jared waist and the teen boner pressed against his butt. As much as Jared wanted to have fun with them he resisted and gently hugged Ryan before setting him down on the floor. Jared wrapped a towel around his waist that did nothing to hide his boner, he handed one to Ryan but the 11 year old just carried it as they walked to the bathroom for a shower. Ryan was not bothered about being seen naked or about anyone seeing his boner, everyone in the house including Toni had already seen him naked and boned up before. Marcus and Taylor climbed out of the bed and ran across to Toni's room just as she was coming out of her en-suite after taking a shower, Taylor slapped his hands over his face as soon as he saw she was naked. Marcus giggle when he saw Taylor's reaction, Toni just smiled, she wasn't bothered, after all Taylor was gay. "You wanna use my shower?" Toni asked chuckling. "Yeah" Marcus replied. Taylor stood there not knowing what to do. Toni walked over to him and pulled his hands away from his face. "It fine Taylor... we are family now" Toni said before kissing his forehead softly. "Sorry... we should have knocked first" Taylor whimpered. "Don't worry about it... I don't mind...at least I don't have a boner" Toni laughed teasing the boned up teen. Taylor's hands flew down to his dick to cover his erection, Marcus and Toni giggled. "Go have your shower..." Toni's chuckled. Toni pushed the boys towards her bathroom and proceeded to get dressed, Taylor still felt embarrassed even though Toni was not bothered at all. Once in the shower and soaping up his little boyfriend he soon forgot and enjoyed his shower time with Marcus. By the time they finished their shower Toni was dressed and making breakfast downstairs. Jared took his time cleaning Ryan which did nothing to help him lose his boner, especially when Ryan would grab it and play with it. The two washed each other and returned to the bedroom to get dressed. Taylor and Marcus soon joined them and all four got their clothes on and headed downstairs for breakfast. Taylor still blushed a little in front of Toni, but every time he did she hugged him and he stopped. Soon he realised he didn't need to be embarrassed and got over it. Sandy fussed over Ryan making sure he was ready for school and making sure he was feeling ok. Rhett and Reed explained to the boys that they were gonna head back to work and would be back tonight, there was nothing they could do to help their situation other than to keep working. At least the site they were working on was only two hours away and they could come home tonight. Sandy was taking the boys to school today so she could enrol Ryan. Toni had cancelled the school bus for this morning but the boys would come home on it after school. Marcus got a few minutes on the phone with Patrick before they left for school, his dad wanted to wish him luck for his first day in his new school. Shawn spoke briefly to Taylor and reminded him to look after Marcus and Ryan. Ryan got hugs from Rhett, Reed and Jared before getting in the truck with sandy, Marcus and Taylor to head off to school. Jared promised he would be waiting for him to get home. Taylor guided Sandy on how to get to the school and they parked in the schools car park. Sandy followed Taylor and Marcus as they showed her to the school office so she could enroll Ryan. Enrolling took just a few minutes as the headmaster had already done most of the paperwork after talking to Toni, Ryan's schedule was also ready and any books he needed would be given him in the lessons later in the day. With plenty of time before school started Sandy left Ryan with Taylor and Marcus so they could show him around his new school. Chapter 17 soon!
