Marcus and the cub - Chapter 22

Chapter 22


Jared woke up early in the morning and took a moment to remember where he
was and why he was in his wolf form. He felt two warm patches on his side
where Jacob and Jasper were breathing into his fur. The two little boys
were tucked between his front and rear legs and using his body as a
pillow. It felt a little strange at first, Taylor had never done this when
he was little with him so this was all new being used as a pillow. But at
the same time it felt nice, this was something he could do for the boys to
help them feel better, he could also feel a bond growing with them, he
already knew in his head that they were now part of the same pack, but now
his heart was starting to acknowledge it too.

Again he felt some regret at not having done this with Taylor when his
little brother was young, as much as they had both tried to move on from
their rocky past now they had built a closer relationship, he still felt
guilty for not making more effort with Taylor when he was little.

Taylor's head was next to Jared's nose as they all crammed into the big
bed, he could smell his brothers scent and it brought about feelings of
belonging and love. Gently Jared stuck out his long tongue and licked
Taylor's hair and ear softly, cleaning each other like this was a sign of
love and acceptance. It could also be fun as he remembered back to when
Taylor was little and he and Parker would lick Taylor's body mercilessly
making their little brother giggle and shriek as they tickled him with
their tongues.

Jared's gentle licking woke Taylor up slowly, Taylor looked at his older
brother and smiled, he managed to free one of his hands and lift it above
his head so he could stroke Jared's soft furry head, as he did Jared
resumed his gentle licks of Taylor boy head.

Both brothers felt lovingly soothed by each others touch, it was a bonding
moment for both as they felt closer to each other than every before.

Ryan who woke as Jared moved his head a little to give Taylor easier access
to stroke his head, he watched the two brothers as he was spooned up behind
Jared, he had his naked soft skinned body pressed firmly into Jared's soft
and warming fur.

Ryan gently slide around Jared's head till his face was next to Taylor's,
then he imitated his boyfriend and softly started to lick the other side of
Taylor's head. At first he thought it would just be funny, but then as he
started he felt compelled to keep doing it, it felt like it was something
he should be doing and something that was making him feel closer to Taylor,
he wondered if this was the bonding thing Jared had talked about. He then
reminded himself he was not a wolf but that didn't seem to matter to the
feelings coursing through his body, he wasn't sure what it all meant but he
decided to ask Jared about it later and just go with what felt right now.

Jared watched with interest as he saw Ryan behaving like a wolf, he wasn't
sure how the Alpha thing worked with humans, but it sure seemed like Ryan
was accepting Taylor as his alpha, but then he knew Taylor, Marcus and Ryan
behaved like a pack, he had known that before getting involved with
Ryan. But it did make him wonder about his own status, if Taylor was Ryan's
alpha then would Taylor also be his alpha?

As he pondered that for a moment with his tongue firmly lodged in Taylor's
ear, he realised he didn't mind if Taylor was his alpha, it wasn't
something that he felt compelled to be. As he thought about how his little
brother took care of the other boys and how he loved them he felt Taylor
would be a good alpha, someone he could follow, someone that would be good
for all of them.

Jared's thoughts were broken as Taylor could no longer hold back his
giggles as Jared's tongue tickled his ear, he squealed and pulled away
leaving both Jared and Ryan with their tongues hanging out and nothing to
lick.

Jared stretched his neck and licked Ryan's face, Taylor's squeals and
giggles woke the other boys up.

Jacob and Jasper looked into each other eyes as their heads still rested on
Jared's furry side, their little fingers started to softly scrunch at
Jared's fur, it was a comfort thing that made both little boys feel safe
and loved. Jasper smiled as he leaned toward Jacob and lovingly licked his
nose, Jacob smiled too as he lovingly licked Jasper's nose back.

Joshua woke to find himself sandwiched between two naked boys, this was not
the first time he had woken up to this, but it was the first time that the
boys were not his little brothers. Marcus gently rubbed Joshua's naked
chest, his fingers gently brushing over the younger boys skin occasionally
circling one of his nipples. It felt nice to the 9 year old cub, it was
soothing and relaxing, he felt Taylor moving next to him and soon warm lips
were kissing his forehead, his eyes gazed up at Taylor's smiling face as it
looked down on him from above.

He felt his heart yearn for more love and affection from Taylor, like it
was something he craved, he didn't quite understand it but he felt it was
something he needed. His hands rose up and gently pulled Taylor's head back
to his own, Taylor softly kissed the boy again sensing that was what he
wanted. He felt the boys hands relax as his lips touched Joshua's forehead
again.

Not a word had been spoken yet today, but there had been many unspoken
declarations of love and bonding, Much had been said without using spoken
words.

Their time of sharing their love for each other quietly had to come to an
end.

"we gots ta pee!" Jasper finally declared no longer able to hold it in.

The two youngest cubs jumped out of bed and ran off the the bathroom,
reluctantly the others started to follow as they too had a need to
pee. This led to a little jostling around the toilet pan as they all tried
to find a place to stand.

Tess hearing the boys moving around started to dish out the porridge she
had made for them, it was sweetened with honey just as her boys liked. She
was sure the cubs would like it too, although they had not really talked
about what foods they liked and disliked yet.

It was still quite early but Shawn had already left for work, the two
younger boys ran downstairs after peeing as they could smell the yummy food
and were hungry. The other boys decided to at least put underwear on before
going downstairs, not that they were really that modest but more that it
seemed polite to eat with something covering their boy bits.

Jacob and Jasper soon found themselves in Tess's arms being hugged and
kissed, she sat their naked butts down at the table and gave them a bowl
each of porridge.

"So yummy!" squealed Jacob as he took a bit spoonful into his mouth.

Tess smiled as she watched the two younger cubs gobbling up their food
happily. Tess got hugs from the other boys as they appeared and gave them
breakfast too, soon the table was full with hungry boys devouring large
bowls of porridge. It made her happy to see them all, in her heart she
missed the times when her boys were little, as many parents do, she thought
she would not see times like this till she was a grandmother and had the
grand-kids staying over.

Although she was sad the cubs had lost their parents, she was glad that
they had been asked to take them in and raise them. She was also very happy
to see Taylor and Jared caring and loving each other, it filled her heart
with joy that they had finally worked through their differences and become
closer as brothers and pack mates. She hoped Parker, her eldest son, would
also try and fix his relationship with Taylor. She still needed to call him
and tell him about the new cubs, she reminded herself.

After breakfast Jared got dressed and went down to Patrick's house to help
Rhett and Reed with the cellar works, they hoped to have it completed early
next week. Then they could start on the ground works of the new house, much
had been talked about with the new house, as much as they wanted to build
it entirely out of wood, they had decided that an ICF concrete basement
would give them a shelter and storage at their house too. But everything
above ground level would be built out of timber, big thick logs would wall
their house and thick timber beams span the inside giving it a chunky and
pleasing structure that fitted into it's forest setting.

Tess was keen for Taylor to work with Joshua to help him control his
transformations, by keen she meant that it was going to happen. The sooner
he could control it, the sooner he could go to school. She asked Ryan and
Marcus to take the younger cubs out to the garage and sheds to find toys
and bikes to dig out for the new boys to play with. She hoped it would help
them burn off some energy and also help them get accustomed to their new
home.

Taylor took Joshua to his room and they sat on Taylor's bed.

"Hold my hands" Taylor said softly as he and Joshua sat cross legged facing
each other on the bed with their knees touching.

Joshua slowly lifted his hands out of his lap and took hold of Taylor's
hands. He felt the teen gently squeeze them as he looked into his eyes.

"We'll do some practice and then maybe go for a run... running through the
forest in our wolf forms helps us learn how to use our wolf bodies better"
Taylor said softly.

"Okay" Joshua said nervously, the whole transformation thing was still new
to him and in some ways scared him.

"Why don't we start with a chat... have you any questions or worries?"
Taylor asked seeing that the cub clearly did.

Joshua did have questions, but also felt embarrassed, he worried that he
might seem stupid or dumb to his new brother.

"Just ask them... I bet they are the same questions I asked my dad" Taylor
said trying to reassure Joshua.

After a deep breath and a pause Joshua finally decided on his first
question.

"Does it always feel weird... you know... changing" he asked still hating
the feeling of his body transforming.

"Kinda yeah... but you do get used to it... and eventually you'll be able
to change so quick you don't have time to think about it..." Taylor
replied.

"Does it ever hurt?" Joshua asked airing another of his worries.

"No... never... weird yes... hurt no" Taylor replied squeezing the young
cubs hand reassuringly.

"Can you ever get stuck... as a wolf?" Joshua asked knowing he struggled to
change back to his human form.

"No... even if you are asleep or unconscious your body can still change
back... I don't know how that works but it does" Taylor replied
confidently.

Taylor answered many more questions over the next hour, it was clear that
Joshua's parents had not talked to him much about changing forms, he
guessed they probably thought they had a few more years before they needed
to have the wolf talk with Joshua.

Joshua felt much better having got his worries addressed, he still didn't
like the transformation process, but he at least understood more about it
now. Taylor suggested they do some transformations together, the only way
for Joshua to learn to control them was to practice doing them.

"We better take off our boxers... it's pretty uncomfortable having your
tail stuck in them" Taylor chuckled trying to lighten to mood.

"I know... I was fully dressed the first time I changed" Joshua said
remembering that scary first time.

"That must have sucked" Taylor said sympathetically.

"It did... Jasper and Jacob had to help me get my clothes off" Joshua
explained.

"I've never changed fully clothed but I changed while wearing boxers one
night... so after that I slept naked till I learned to control it" Taylor
told Joshua.

"That's why I sleep naked..." Joshua replied, although he did prefer
sleeping naked now, as long as he was warm.

Taylor gently pushed Joshua to lay back, he lovingly pulled Joshua's legs
straight and gently pulled the boys boxers down his hips and off his legs,
Joshua felt good about that, like Taylor was taking care of him. He lay
there while Taylor removed his own boxers and then the teen gently rolled
him onto his side. Taylor laid in front of him on his side too facing him.

"Picture your wolf form in your mind" Taylor said softly as he reached out
and gently stroked Joshua's cheek.

"Then you have to want it to get closer... keep wanting it to get closer
and see it in your head getting closer... when it reaches you in your
mind... your body will start to change" Taylor said softly.

Joshua did as he was told and after a few attempts for the first time ever
he changed into his wolf form by choice. All his previous transformations
had happened subconsciously.

It felt reassuring having Taylor changing there with him, it still felt
weird but it wasn't frighting anymore, slowly it was getting easier to
activate the change the more he and Taylor did it. Taylor asked him to try
and remember the feelings in his body when the change first starts, he
explained that knowing the feelings would give him more time to stop an
unwanted change.

Taylor knew this would take quite some time and a lot of practice before
Joshua would be able to stop an unwanted change or even spot it
starting. But after changing 8 times already this morning he felt it was
time to stop and go for a run.

"You did really good... I am so proud of you" Taylor told Joshua while he
hugged the boy as they stood on their knees on the bed.

Joshua melted in to the warm embrace of the teen, his head tucked under
Taylor's chin and press into his chest. Taylor gently stroked Joshua's back
as they hugged, in the space of 24 hours Joshua and his brothers had become
a part of the family and everyone loved them. But Taylor felt more than
just love for them, he felt responsible for them, he felt he needed them
and they needed him. He knew this was a part of pack bonding, but he also
felt more, he felt like they belonged to him, not in a bad way, but in an
alpha sort of way.

Taylor had assumed the cubs would be his dads pack, but he was starting to
feel like he wanted them for his pack, he hadn't set out to start a pack,
but yet it had happened. It started with Marcus and then Ryan. Even his
older brother was starting to seem like he had joined Taylor's pack. As he
thought about each of them he felt an overwhelming desire to care for them
and protect them, this included the new cubs.

As he inhaled Joshua's scent while burying his nose in the boys hair he
realised this was something he was going to have to talk to his mum about,
his dad had been incredibly accepting over the last week, but he worried
that his dad might think he was being challenged if the new cubs joined his
pack. He didn't want to mess things up with his dad now things were really
good in the family.

He decided to deal with it later and concentrate on Joshua.

"You ready to go out for a run?" Taylor asked giving the boys bum a little
playful squeeze.

"Yeah" giggled Joshua as he squeezed the teens bum back.

"Okay then lets go" Taylor said smiling before kissing the top of Joshua's
haed softly.

They climbed off the bed and Taylor took hold of Joshua's hand and led him
down stairs, they walked to the back door passing Tess on the way.

"We're going for a run" Taylor said to his mum as they passed her.

"Okay... don't run him too hard... he's still new at it" Tess said as she
watched their naked butts head out the back door.

As they walked off the rear deck onto the grass the other boys came running
over.

"Why are you nakey?" Jacob giggled.

"Because we're going for a run in our wolf bodies" Joshua explained
remembering he was naked and feeling a little exposed.

"You gonna change?" Jasper asked interested.

"Yes he is... he is getting really good at it" Taylor replied making Joshua
blush a little.

"You ready to show them?" Taylor asked ruffling Joshua's hair.

"Guess so" Joshua replied feeling nervous about doing it in front of
others.

"You'll be fine" Taylor assured him.

Taylor and Joshua lay down on the grass just as they had done on the bed
earlier, the cub pictured his wolf form coming towards him in his mind and
felt his body start to tingle and change.

This was the first time his brothers had seen him change by choice, it was
far less scary than previous times they had seen him change.

Taylor changed too and after a few moments both of them stood on their four
legs and danced around a little. Joshua found himself being petted by his
little brothers, he wasnt sure about it but it felt kinda nice to him.

"Come on lets go!" Taylor called out and the two wolves ran off into the
forest, Joshua following Taylor's lead.

"When will we be able to do that?" Jasper asked Marcus.

"Normally when you reach puberty" Marcus replied remembering what Taylor
had told him.

"What puberty?" Jasper asked confused.

"Oh boy..." Marcus said before giggling.

"Sounds like we need to do some teaching too" Ryan giggled.

"Boys!" Tess called out from the deck where she had heard their
conversation.

They all ran over to her to see what she wanted.

"Why don't you wait for Jared to get home before having the puberty
talk... he's been through it were as you two have just started" Tess said
smiling at them.

"I bet he knows way more than we do" Ryan said proudly of his boyfriend
making Tess smile.

"I'm sure he does... and probably shown you plenty too" Tess said teasing
Ryan.

"Maybe a little" Ryan replied giggling and blushing.

The younger cubs giggled too even though they weren't quite sure why, Tess
brought them all in for a hot chocolate to warm them up and they told her
all about the toys and treasures they had found in the sheds.

Taylor was running much slower than he normally would so Joshua could keep
up, he stopped every now and then and pointed out things he could see or
hear to help the younger cub learn to use his senses better. He led Joshua
up to the rock pools, where they normally went to swim. It was Joshua's
first time there and he liked it from the moment he set eyes on it.

"Can we have a swim?" Joshua asked.

"Well it is cold... but if we swim in human form and then change back to
wolves afterwards we'll be warm again..." Taylor suggested.

They both changed back to their human bodies and after a lot of squealing
and egging each other on they managed to get waist deep in the water before
giving up and running back to shore.

"So cold" Joshua giggled feeling like a kid again.

"Change back to your wolf body and you'll be warm again" Taylor told him.

They both changed back to their wolf bodies and Joshua snuggled up to
Taylor, the teen gently cleaned Joshua's head with his tongue, Joshua
enjoyed having Taylor licking his head, it was relaxing and comforting.

"Think you can led us back home?" Taylor asked.

"I... er... maybe" Joshua replied surprised by Taylor question.

"Well give it a go... just take your time and use your senses... look for
things you have seen on the way here... listen for clues too" Taylor said
as he nudged Joshua towards the right direction with his snout.

Joshua led them back finding little landmarks on the way that he remembered
passing earlier, Taylor followed dutifully behind him letting him figure
things out for himself. The closer they got to home the more Joshua could
smell the log fire that burned in the lounge, as the trees cleared in
places the thin wisp of smoke could be seen rising from the chimney,
assuring Joshua that they were heading in the right direction.

As he saw the house come into sight he barked happily and spun around
several times, it was his victory dance and Taylor smiled at his
enthusiasm. The cubs Jasper and Jacob heard their brothers bark and ran
outside to great him, they met on the grass and they bundled each other
rolling about on the floor. It had been the longest they had been apart in
a long time and they were glad to be back together.

Joshua yapped and whined as he rubbed himself against his little brothers,
Taylor left them to it and went inside, he stood up on his back legs by the
kitchen sink and turned on the tap with one of his front paws. He lapped up
the stream of water from the tap to quench his thirst.

"You could at least change first" Tess said shaking her head at him.

"Too thirsty!" Taylor gasped before resuming his drinking from the tap.

Normally she would have put a stop to this and pulled him away from the
tap, but Taylor had been so good with Joshua that this time she would let
it slide. After Taylor was done she wiped the edge of the sink where
Taylor's front paws had been.

"So how was he?" Tess asked as she wiped up.

"Really good... we went slow for a while but he got much faster... then I
let him lead us home" Taylor explained.

"That's good... just don't push him too far" Tess said rubbing the top of
Taylor's head lovingly.

Taylor rubbed himself against her legs as she scratched his ear, like any
canine he liked having his ears scratched.

Joshua came scampering in being chased by his brothers, as he slide across
the polished floor he crashed into stool sending it flying. He then stood
up and ran of upstairs chased by his brothers still, Tess was glad to see
them playing and happy, even if they were being somewhat clumsy.

"Why don't you take that rascal into the shower and get cleaned up?" Tess
said to Taylor smiling.

Taylor knew this was not a request, but a nicely worded order. Like all the
males in the household he knew his mums word was final. But she was never
bad about it, it was just how she kept them from destroying the house or
getting into trouble.

"But we had a bath at the rock pools!" Taylor whined playfully.

"And then ran all the way home... my stinky little pup" Tess replied
teasing him.

"Fine..." Taylor moaned as she rubbed deeply into his ear which he loved.

Tess gave him a quick pat on the rear and sent him on his way, Joshua was
easy to find, Taylor just followed the noise of the boys chasing around in
their bedroom.

Marcus and Ryan finished bringing in wood from outside and stacking it by
the fire as Tess asked them to do. They went upstairs to join the other
boys in the cubs bedroom.

"You can't shower in that body" they heard Taylor chuckled as they walked
in.

"Why not?" whined Joshua who for the first time ever was happy to be in his
wolf form.

"Because you won't get clean and mum gets mad if we block the shower up
with fur" Taylor chuckled as he felt Marcus wrap his arms around his neck
and hug him.

"Hey you" Marcus said as he pressed his face into Taylor's scruff.

"Hey you back" Taylor chuckled.

Ryan walked over to Joshua and hugged him, he loved how soft Joshua's fur
was, it was much softer than Jared's or Taylor's.

"Come on... get changed and we can all have a shower together" Ryan said
softly as he nuzzled Joshua's fur with his cheek.

"All of us?" Joshua asked surprised.

"Yeah... we're all a bit smelly" giggled Ryan.

"That's true!" joked Taylor as he lay down and covered his nose with his
front paws.

Jacob and Jasper burst out laughing as did the other boys.

"Well you'll have to make sure to clean us good!" Ryan said with a naughty
grin on his face.

"Okay then" Taylor chuckled as he stood back up on all four legs, he walked
over to Ryan, knocking him over onto his back and then climbed over him
pinning him down before starting to lick Ryan's face all over as Ryan tried
to get away squealing and laughing.

"Is that good enough?" Taylor asked teasingly moving off Ryan.

"You missed a bit" Ryan grinned wildly as he pulled his pants down exposing
his little boner.

All the boys burst out laughing again, including Joshua who was still
surprised at how open and silly the other boys were. He knew Tess must be
able to hear them, but they didn't seem to care.

"Come on... get changed" Taylor told Joshua as he nudged him with his nose
softly.

Taylor then lay down and changed back into a boy, Joshua laid down too and
slowly changed back, he was not as fast as Taylor, that would take time to
learn.

Ryan had already started to take his clothes off, which had prompted Marcus
and the little cubs to follow suit.

"Put your clothes into the basket and i'll wash them" Tess said appearing
at the door with a washing basket in hand.

"I'll get Jared to bring you some clean clothes back with him" Tess added
to Marcus and Ryan.

"Thank you Tess" Ryan said sweetly not bothered about Tess seeing his
boner.

"Thank you" added Marcus also not bothered about being seen naked.

Taylor led the boys into the bathroom, they all showered together in the
large walk-in shower, Taylor made sure to wash them all good with help from
Ryan and Marcus. They took their time and before they had finished drying
off Jared had arrived with clean clothes for Ryan and Marcus. He helped
drying the little cubs and then carried them to their room to put on some
clothes.

Once they were all dressed in boxer shorts and t-shirts they snuggled up on
the sofa together and watched a film while waiting for dinner to cook and
Shawn to get home. It had been a busy day for them and they were all
feeling tired. But they were all feeling good too, the bonds they were
forming were strong and easy to see, life had changed for all of them and
they were all learning to live with this new normal.

As Tess watched them she hoped that Parker, her eldest son, would accept
and fit into this new family set up. They would soon find out as after
talking to Parker earlier he had decided to come home and visit for a few
days. He would arrive tomorrow morning and head home Sunday night.
